781  Other / Meta / Re: I am the oldest miner here, why are my post moved around? Where is Thermos on: June 01, 2015, 12:44:36 AM
I hate posting on this site because I always have to prove who I am before making half of the forum feel like asses.
Yes, my account is 7 days old, my wallet however, was created in April 1, 2009.

That is why I am the oldest miner. If anybody here has a wallet that can date before that then that person is the oldest miner.

Now that its clear who I am, can we please move on to the important topic of this thread which is my trading software.

Which im calling from now on, maria3.0 Open source

Hal Finney is dead, so I guess you have a pretty good claim Tongue
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HoboNickels - HBN - High Fast Stake - Version 1.5. Come on in the water's fine! on: June 01, 2015, 12:03:25 AM
I need help, I'm staking approx 9300 hbn and have only staked twice in 3 days. Is there a configuration I need to do to the wallet to achieve maximum stake? The wallet currently is default and unlocked for staking, nothing else.

Thank you,

Brett

Without knowing how you have that broken up, I can't help. The minimum stake time is ten days, so it depends on the size and age of your blocks. I've never had a problem with HBN staking, but I could just be lucky Tongue

I have set up a bootstrap server. Updated every hour.

Well played Cheesy
784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: May 31, 2015, 09:29:47 PM
Changed it, thanks for the heads up.
I also lost the Hyperstake folder somehow, now i have to reimport the bootstrap all over. I hope it gets it done during the night.

from bootstrap, it usually takes 3-4 hours. Not terrible. It will show out of sync until it's finished reindexing, even if the block height is correct. This isn't a problem, it's just the way it works Tongue

Also, and this is something that's a little confusing so I figure it's good general information (for all satoshi based coins) is that you don't HAVE to use the default folder. You can make one and point the client to it. But you have to point it to the folder every time you call it for the daemon, and it needs to be in the launch command line for the QT.

The command is -datadir. For QT, you would run it with hyperstake-qt -datadir=/some/predefined/directory. In windows, you would want to modify the link target to be hyperstake-qt -datadir=\some\predefined\directory

For daemon access, it's hyperstaked -datadir=/some/predefined/directory to launch the daemon and then hyperstaked -datadir=/some/predefined/directory <command> from there out. I actually use this a lot to have multiple copies of the blockchain. Again, this is totally optional.
785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: May 31, 2015, 07:46:07 PM
Okay, one last thing. I have setted up a .conf like the guide says, am i missing anything?
Code:
rpcuser=hyperstakecrew
rpcpassword=AUeYFdcL6r8YXurj23xLbIAVsxVflN7R
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
gen=0
server=1
daemon=1
listen=1

You might want to define the ports (rpcport=<port> , port=<port> ) but if it's not giving any conflicts, that's totally optional. I always run txindex=1 so I have ALL block transaction data, but that too is optional. It looks fine.
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: May 31, 2015, 07:29:05 PM
So um i'm no expert or anything like that, but i'm curious, why are bootstraps used? Couldn't one just paste the blk000 and blkindex into his client data folder?

Mainly for speed, and also for the new guy trying to get synched. Good developers try to maintain an up to date bootstrap so that new people don't have to wait (sometimes literally) days to get up to speed. For instance, bitcoin synching from a bootstrap takes around seven hours. Synching from the network can take over a week.

On smaller coins, it's more a convenience. Also, it is possible for your local copy of the block chain to get corrupted, and a bootstrap will get you to a reasonable block height and allow those last few blocks to synch fast, instead of starting from zero.
787  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Poll] Free Ross OR Kill Ross <search for public opinion> on: May 31, 2015, 07:11:45 PM
But in their view it doesn't matter what they do to those filthy heathens overseas. Ross allowed drugs to be sold to purebred whitie children in college at home and without paying any tax. I'm surprised he wasn't just called a terrorist and taken straight to gitmo without a trial.

Most of the 2 million Russians, who died as a result of the NATO-sponsored heroin trafficking to Russia were white as well. So this has nothing to do with race. The Americans wanted to destroy the younger generations in Russia and Iran, and that's why we are having the NATO actively engaging in the Afghan opium poppy cultivation.

Yes, but that quote is damn near exactly how the sons of bitches SELL this stupidity to the American public. We are, despite what it often seems, a very insular society. Do not mistake the actions of the United States of America for the will of it's slaves. Most of us don't like, or trust our rulers. But most of us are complacent, and afraid. The country that I grew up in does not exist anymore. It's now a police state very similar to Germany just before the ascent of the Nazi party to ultimate power. There is more wealth, and the nationalism is less targeted (slightly), but it's very similar.

And fuck Godwin, this is reality.

I have to wonder why you're running QT on such a limited machine. Wouldn't it be simpler and smaller to just run truckcoind or hyperstaked per your other adventure?
I mean, i know people running this setup i figured i would run it too. I dislike deamons, even tough they are resource-efficient . And when all my wallets are synced up it's not even lagging a lot so...

Fair enough. I often use the command line even when I have the GUI available, so I guess it comes down to taste if you have the resources Cheesy
789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TRK] ★ Truckcoin ★ Pure PoS ϟ 200% interest per year ϟ Wallet v0.9.8.1 on: May 31, 2015, 05:09:10 AM
Ok thanks and when it's built it will start up normally, like what if it wants to resync the whole blockchain?
And, at what size should i keep my blocks?
It will start up normally, no need to resync.
Blocks size around 2000 are ok.

Edit: Built, i get this error, the wallet launches fullscreen and is all messed up. I can run on the official build for now but this is a recurring problem. Maybe it's something wrong with compiling?
Code:
EGLFS: Unable to query physical screen size, defaulting to 100 dpi.
EGLFS: To override, set QT_QPA_EGLFS_PHYSICAL_WIDTH and QT_QPA_EGLFS_PHYSICAL_HEIGHT (in millimeters).
EGLFS: Unable to query screen depth, defaulting to 32.
EGLFS: To override, set QT_QPA_EGLFS_DEPTH.
Can't help with that, sorry. Looks like some local bug..
Ok doesn't matter, i can run the precompiled one, thanks.

When u get that error are u running it from remote desktop ?

I recompiled with qt4 and i sloved it. Also no, no remote desktop.

I have to wonder why you're running QT on such a limited machine. Wouldn't it be simpler and smaller to just run truckcoind or hyperstaked per your other adventure?

790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: May 31, 2015, 04:57:39 AM
the end user would put the bootstrap into their datadir, start the client, the client processes the blocks, you save a shit ton of time vs syncing a virgin client. it is not the fastest thing in the world, but i would guess of the time savings at the very least 75%.

also, super sexy pi client just cooked for distro from sluppy can be found on the release page check it out.

So you put it in the same directory as the Blockchain? If you have an existing Blockchain do you delete that? What is the reason of renaming it bootstrap.dat? Would it just not be easier to replace the Blockchain with another one and not have to rename it?

Congrats on the new pi client!!!

Yes, you put it in (in this case) .hyperstake (or the windows/Mac equivalent) and then delete everything but wallet.dat, hyperstake.conf and bootstrap.dat

The reason for renaming it is that the core code looks for bootstrap.dat to import a static blockchain, and it imports the whole freaking thing before indexing it. That saves a shitload of time. The reason for not just copying the whole .hyperstake (or whatever coin) data directory is that the data may be corrupt, have transactions only specific to your wallet, etc. And of course, the size. Everything that is needed for the client to extract all that information is in the blk000* files. There are several of them as the blockchain grows, so if you're making a bootstrap AND there is more than one, you need to combine them in serial order. It's easy to do, and it will save you endless headaches when synching a new install or recovering a messed up wallet install.

Another thing I do, and highly suggest if you're not running on a Pi or something tiny like that is add txindex=1 to your configuration file. This pulls ALL the blockchain data, like a block explorer. so you can pull up the data from any valid block in the chain in your own client, not just the ones you had a transaction in Cheesy
791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: May 31, 2015, 04:51:28 AM
yeah what bio said! and I am almost 100% certain you should close the client before doing so. (I always do)

best part is with hyp since the blockchain is still small you can actually just rename blk0001.dat to bootstrap.dat or cat it like bio said if you wanted to make it nice and automated.

that is a feature press should put into his explorer.
https://ecua.mobi/how-to-create-bootstrap-dat/

There ya go. I used it once, but didn't have a download directory setup. I do now, and once GMC is fixed, I'll be using this script to maintain a constantly updated bootstrap. Might do the same for all the coins I collect Cheesy Though that would require a bigger server than I have right now. At any rate, the script works with minimal modification, or you can just do it manually. You MIGHT need to run this as root or chown your blocks directory to make it work, though.
792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: May 31, 2015, 12:03:19 AM
Do you guys have some useful guide on creating a bootstrap.dat?

I could host one for you guys if you want, I did it before where I had loaded up my Blockchain as a zip file and it worked but that isn't really the proper way to do it.

I'm not home right now, but I have a script for it. Basically it's a script that gathers all the BLK000*.dat files in order and put's 'em together, renames the output bootstrap.dat, and then copies it to your specified directory for download. Can be set as a cron, so it stays up to date. I've only used it once, I usually just do it manually. (cat blk0000 blk0001 blk000* ... > bootstap.dat
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: May 30, 2015, 11:54:28 PM
That's not new.
HYP was forked from TRK. What you do is make sure that the port and rpcport are set to different ports in your hyperstake.conf and truckcoin.conf files. That is in the wiki, I'm pretty sure Cheesy
EDIT: Ya ninja'd me Cheesy
Yeah, thanks for the tip, i was starting to think i'd have to abandon one Sad
I found trk port, but not hyp.

As long as it's not conflicting with something else, it really don't matter. 22, 587, and about five others are system ports and illegal for RPC or P2P, but that's about it. I often run multiple instances and just set whatever port I have available so that they don't conflict. I don't remember the ports that were supposed to be assigned to HYP, but it practically don't matter as long as they're not the same as something else you have running.

A very special thank you to Noise23, who has been working with the GameCredits team (mostly with me) to solve our stuck blockchain. Once again, he has proven to be a gentleman and a scholar!
795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: May 30, 2015, 08:26:21 PM
can you post a screen shot of that?
Hey it's the problem i've been having with eglfs.
Code:
EGLFS: Unable to query physical screen size, defaulting to 100 dpi.
EGLFS: To override, set QT_QPA_EGLFS_PHYSICAL_WIDTH and QT_QPA_EGLFS_PHYSICAL_HEIGHT (in millimeters).
EGLFS: Unable to query screen depth, defaulting to 32.
EGLFS: To override, set QT_QPA_EGLFS_DEPTH.
But i figured it might just be my compiler(qt5.2.x) as noone on the web has the same issue atleast not fatal like mine. I'm compiling again with qt 4 right now, i'll post back the results.
I've experienced the same issue with Truckcoin too, but not with any of the other wallets i have.

hmmm well this is a bummer.

"The eglfs back end supports widget-based and QML applications, and uses OpenGL, but will run in full screen mode and not be aware of any window manager."

Looks like you might be screwed on a pi2 and raspbian. Best I can tell you can install Maynard and this issue should be fixed

http://www.ics.com/blog/qt-raspberry-pi-2

[edit] no wait, im stupid. cook with qt4 and it will work.
Cooked with qt4, works like a charm. Thanks a lot.
Hey found another issue. If i launch hyperstake while truckcoin is running it somehow thinks that hyperstake process is already running. And it also happens the other way around.
Edit: nvm got it, hyperstake was hardforked from truckcoin, that's the thing. I guess i'll stake truckcoin while i'm waiting the 8 days or something like that.

As for the gentleman with the error message, it's not critical. Presstab did do an updated client a few days ago to eliminate the warning, but it's only an irritant. Nothing will hang, stop, or otherwise cause you problems, it's just obsolete code that he hadn't gotten to yet.
796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★ [GMC] GameCredits - PlayPay Defined • A Multi-Platform Gaming Currency [GMC]★ on: May 30, 2015, 07:45:06 PM
Brief update:

We have discovered what the problem is, and have (in testing) made the chain move. We probably need about two more days to have a release ready.

This WILL be a hard fork. The lack of notice is due to the emergency, it would have been far better if we'd forseen this and been able to make a smooth transition, but the ugly truth is that the blockchain was solidly stuck. It's something in KGW, which is not in the new client. It's still a 1 block difficulty retarget, taken from another coin that has been very stable. More details when everyone is ready, but in testing we made it work.

The first release is likely to be a bit ugly, as we're trying to get things working correctly ahead of making them pretty. Then we will release non mandatory updates as quickly as we can to make everything nice.

Vegas, PM me, or Noise23, or both. I'm the mouthpiece, I don't know if the beta is useable at this moment.
797  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Poll] Free Ross OR Kill Ross <search for public opinion> on: May 30, 2015, 07:16:16 PM
How many lives were saved by not having to buy drugs off the streets?
How many careers were saved when people weren't caught buying a $10 bag of weed?
When was the last time you could ask your local dealer for independent feedback on their products?

I would much prefer the CEO's of Big Pharma corps were locked up indefinately, they've helped kill much more people than any darkmarket. Keep jacking yourself up with those prescription drugs Wink

But drug companies are legal because they pay their dues to the government. Think of political hypocrisy and imagine the face of your favorite politician when you read the quote below.

Your actions speak so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.

                                                                         ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Aye. What Ross did, if he is indeed DPR (I am not convinced), was to do what they do without their sanction. If he had done it with their sanction, any harm he may have done would be ignored.

A politician wants power like a drowning man wants air. Before becoming a full fledged anarchist, I briefly thought the Repugnicans had better ideals than the Democraps. I worked on the camapaign of a (now former) state governor, and met most of the republican leadership during that time. They were almost all truly evil men, in every sense of the word. But even the few who weren't still wanted that power. They wanted to do good with it, but wanting the power was FAR more important than what they did with it.

Thanks Biomech I did manage to find some new nodes and that worked and I am solidly connected to the network. Now I am back to the original problem where the wallet is freezing a lot. It stops for several moments and then resumes. I think it needs to have some maintenance done. What do you recommend for the freezing problem. Maybe I have too many small blocks or something like that.

how many blocks do you have?

Also is your wallet locked and staking?

You can see if your pc is running out of memory by running the Task Manager.

Sounds like you have lot of wallets running and some are staking at the same time, i have the issue, added more RAM and i was good.

This is one of the many reasons I run Linux. Better control over RAM Cheesy but yes, it sounds like high cpu usage. Basically, either get more ram, or deal with it freezing up from time to time, or close some of your wallets till you're fully synced. Synching itself is rather cpu intensive. Staking moreso.
799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Intermittant Wallet connection on: May 29, 2015, 02:39:07 AM
anyone having trouble connecting to the network. My wallet is suddenly dropping on and off the network. I think I need a new set of nodes please.
Thanks in advance...

Is there a way to figure out good nodes to use. I find that every so many months I have to get new nodes. It would be nice to know how to discover new nodes on my own.

Here's what I do. Not just with Tek, where I rarely have problems.

First run getpeerinfo, and copy all of your current peers to a text file. Just in case. Stop the client or daemon.

Then, go into .tekcoin folder (or users\<username>\appdata\roaming\tekcoin if windoze) and edit tekcoin.conf to remove or better comment out your addnodes. All of them. (#addnode= makes it invisible to the client).

Now, delete peers.dat and restart the client or daemon.

Wait about ten minutes. usually it will find good peers.
