Religion is not a race.

religions solely made for POWER and WOMEN ..and currently for money

LOL. Now I get ya.

Then you get the power,

Then you get the women"

At the root of all organized religions is the will to power.
what made you think to exclude WOMEN ? and in this centuary money ' too.

I don't hate Christians, but I do distrust them. Because of their religion.
A bit racist ? maybe you meant to say you dont trust any religios person or theist ?
using the word christian' is a bit sahdy again.

Don't get what your saying on the first part, but no, I meant christians specifically as that has been MY experience. I do think it applies to any religious group, but my experience has been with just one.

And no, I'm not racist. I think all races are equally worthless. Religion is not a race.
503  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: September 19, 2015, 06:04:28 AM
I'm not a huge fan of any religion, but hating them is not one of them.
I can listen and learn from them but I'm not giving my life for them. I know they are meant to be good but most religious people judge so quickly without even thinking about it.

The good things in religion (any religion as far as I've been able to ascertain) are shared by all philosophies. Be decent to your neighbors, don't steal, don't murder, things of that nature.

Unfortunately, they add a lot of shit on top of that, and with a god as backing, believers will ignore the contradictions, embrace the things that destroy the good, and generally muck things up. At the root of all organized religions is the will to power.

Having been raised a Christian, I do have a fair amount of hatred for that particular boondoggle. I try not to. I don't hate Christians, but I do distrust them. Because of their religion, and it's customs. Since I am an unbeliever, a great many of them do not see it as immoral to cheat me, where they would never think of such a thing with one of their own.

In spite of that, I still maintain that most religious people (and I count many of many faiths among my friends) are decent people. Usually in spite of their religion, not because of it. It actually frightens me a great deal when I hear religious people claiming that their particular book/prophet/drug trip is all that restrains them from raping and pillaging. If true, then those people are a deficit to the human race REGARDLESS of their faith. Yet they present this as a positive argument. I don't rape and pillage because it's simply wrong.

I may be wrong but my impression is that most of the conversation is happening on reddit.  I have seen a couple threads here about it but not with very in-depth conversation.  I have an app on my phone that aggregates news stories and blog posts about bitcoin and I read those things all the time so that is mostly what has informed my opinion on the issue.

In more relevent news, the Eligius website is a bit laggy tonight.
so's the freakin' blockchain. 20 minute plus blocks again Sad

Reddit is a forum I simply can't stand, but it does seem to be where most of the technical discussion is going on.
505  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: September 19, 2015, 12:51:51 AM
Did God give the Bible to the Egyptians? Nope. How about the Japs? Well, no. The Chinese? Ah, no.

Therefore, the Bible has no authority anymore.

Lots of Egyptians, Nipponese, Chinese, and others have gone out and bought a Bible at the store. Therefore the Bible does have authority for them.

Smiley
By this logic, in my own case, I should be Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Satanic, Zoroastrian, Discordian, Republican, Democrat, Tory, and on and on. I have purchased a great many books and read even more than that. I claim they have NO authority over me. Have they influenced me? Oh, definitely. Particularly, the first ones in my list. The Bible, the Bhagavit-veda (sp?), the Q'uran, the Torah, all of these have taught me that MEN made god in their image. And that said image was usually heavily influenced by the will to power, and judging by the imagery, hallucinogens. There is no better argument for agnostic beliefs than the holy books of the various religions. Especially if you read a bunch of 'em.
506  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: September 19, 2015, 12:41:25 AM
Terrorism emanates from hate and going by your posts I can say you harbour lot of hate towards muslims.Thank god people like you are confined to express their hatred online only

I don't hate Muslims. In my experience most Muslims are like most Christians -- they don't know jack shit about their religion. The problem with Muslims is only if they start learning about their religion and taking it seriously. I suspect most Muslims who get to the point that they start learning about their religion either (1) stop learning about it because of the consequences or (2) stop believing in Islam but pretend to in order to stay alive. It's the third category -- those that learn about it and believe more fervently -- that form groups like ISIS.

Yes!

This is the thing that I have been trying to get people to understand for a long time, now.

People just can't get it through their thick skulls that Islam is that violent... at least not until they become full fledged Muslims, and then it is too late to back out easily.

Smiley

Leviticus 20:27 "And as for a man or woman in whom there proves to be a mediumistic spirit or spirit of prediction, they should be put to death without fail.  They should pelt them to death with stones.  Their own blood is upon them."

It's the word of God, follow your religion, then get arrested

People in glass houses should not pelt stones.

I was thinking much the same thing. Christianity, by and large, has become a semi peaceful religion in which it's most fervent adherents only wish death upon the unbeliever, rather than making it happen. 700 years ago, you couldn't say that. Maybe in 700 years, Islam will grow up some too. (that number is not arbitrary)

What BIP is Eligius going to vote for? You ruled out 101 so only 101 is left or do you wait for an updated/new BIP?
Miners have no say on hardforks, and it's not a vote.
Your question is a false dichotomy.

Not quite true though.  Pools can basically vote based on which software they run now that xt exists.  And miners can vote based on what pool they mine on.
No, pools/miners that use software producing or accepting invalid blocks simply cease to be Bitcoin miners.

if you look at it in the light that miners drive the network forward, and if the miners decide that "x" hardfork simply isn't going to happen, then they do indeed have a say in it.
Depends on the hardfork...
Post-hardfork miners can indeed softfork-veto any rule removal by re-adding the rule, but some hardforks (particularly ones that add/remove PoW or equivalent algorithms) potentially redefine the set of miners.

True enough. It's a rather complex subject with no simple answers. I personally think that larger blocks are both desirable and necessary, but the XT proposal was poorly thought out and the attempt to force the issue rather than taking the time to properly implement it just makes Gavin and Mike look like idiots. Neither of them really are, but they come across that way with this. Throwing a tantrum might be effective, but it's certainly not the way to conduct important business.
508  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: September 18, 2015, 12:33:12 AM
I can't take anyone that has misinformation such as "Palestinians celebrated 9/11" on their profile seriously.

If you're talking about the Washington Bridge incident in 2001, they never verified the race of the people "celebrating". Secondly, they could not have been "celebrating", because the towers wouldn't go down until later during the day.
is this guy for real? they were handing out sweets "from osama bin laden" in the street

i would have gone with it was only a handful of palestinians (true) or they were perfectly justified in hating jewmerica (also true) instead of pretending something millions of us saw with our own eyes that day didn't happen

Do you know anything about the flag you're using on your profile?

JJ Philips, you really are a violent person if you are serious about your claim regarding extermination of the human race.

Do you? It represented some good and bad things, but the fact of the matters remains very clear if you bother to study history:

The war between the states was unjustifiable.

actually...

if you look at it in the light that miners drive the network forward, and if the miners decide that "x" hardfork simply isn't going to happen, then they do indeed have a say in it.

Given that at the moment, Bitcoin is centralized between a few large pools, then the syndicate indicated by a pool has a rather large vote in whether or not to accept a hard fork.

The question as stated is a false dichotomy, but your answer is a red herring Cheesy

I would assume someone is trying to bounce the market to increase their coin count. That's quite the amount of GMC to unload off of at this time while the coin is obviously actively progressing. If that is the case they (as they know) need to be careful. Lots of sideline money pours in each drop and corrects the market quickly. That could be the person/group dumping but I know at least for myself there's also other capital coming in taking advantage of current price manipulations. Either way. Mo GMC. Mo Betta.  Wink

Definitely Tongue I wish I had a better BTC situation right now. I'd be buying like Imelda Marcos in a shoe shop Cheesy

But it's still disheartening to see your holdings drop in half.

About gravity, no. In fact, I think that the thing that we call gravity is really inertia, and that there isn't any gravity.....

Maybe I'm pissing in the wind.

Wait...the piss goes down.

I'll have to weigh the consequences of that.

There is no gravity. The earth sucks.

Mornin' Peeps.

Sorry, I haven't been around much lately. It's been a hectic couple of weeks for me, so posting has been pretty far down the priority list. When everything is priority one, you have to rethink your categories Cheesy

Whining aside, things are happening. We're about to have a new release of the TurboCharged game (stay tuned for that) and it's got some great features. Betting will be re-enabled, so y'all can attempt to make some money, or enrich your friends, depending on your skill and luck.

Multilanguage support is going great, with a bunch of translations! How often do you see an early release game with ten languages?

We got:

English

Russian

French

Serbian

ChineseComing soon.

Croatian

Japanese

Slovenian  Coming soon. I got eager Cheesy

Spanish

German

Dutch

Italian

We'll add more as time goes on, too. If you speak or write a language not listed, let us know. Might be some GMC in it for you. I'll personally offer 100 GMC for a Klingon translation (it amuses me) Cheesy

The market has been a little rough lately. Volume has been outstanding, but the dumps have been outrageous. Not sure what to think about that, as it seems that we got mixed feelings going on in the marketplace. Obviously, people are willing to buy GMC or we wouldn't be seeing 50+ BTC volume a day on just one exchange out of several. But the price has dropped almost in half over a two week period, because somebody or sombodies are dumping. I can pretty well swear to the idea that the people buying low right now aren't planning on selling it lower, so y'all might want to get in on it. Before I can get some more BTC and take it all myself Cheesy

I have a hard time believing the dumpers are regulars here, as it should be obvious by now that the GMC team is working hard on making this a premier coin. But just in case I'm wrong, let me address this. While I fully understand that there are times when the bills must be paid and you just HAVE to take whatever is offered, this ongoing dump is some people cashing out or even deliberately dropping the market. If it's the former, you're going to regret it. No, that's not a threat, it's a promise. Turbocharged is a test bed. A damn cool test bed, but it's just the tip of the iceberg. I've seen some of the development work for Eon, and I've been involved for several months now in third party integration design. We don't blow our own horns very much until we have a product, which I suppose generates some uncertainty. But there is a reason for it. Too many teams have announced plans to conquer the world, pumped the market, and disappeared without producing a damn thing. We keep quiet, build our product, and then release and blow our horns Cheesy Which, as an investor, would you prefer? A lot of hot air and words, or a team that keeps their mouth shut until they have something to show?

If somebody is deliberately dumping the market down, I can only see two motives for it. One, a competitor. That's the obvious one, but the truth is we have a different approach to anyone that I'm aware of in crypto-integration, so I actually doubt this scenario. The other one is somebody trying to acquire a lot cheap, and willing to sacrifice quite a bit to get it. It's a good strategy from a purely selfish point of view, but if you're interested in the long term success of the project, not so much.

So, my advice to anyone holding right now is to keep doing just that. Market conditions indicate buy, and this team ain't goin' nowhere. We have things to prove, and we're gonna prove 'em.

I'd also like to invite y'all to come to our official forum at http://gamecredits.net/phpbb/index.php , register, and send me a PM. It's a bit slow right now over there Cheesy (unless you count a massive spam attack <grumble> )

EDIT: corrected a couple of mistakes. Take a lesson from this: Never post on a public forum BEFORE coffee Cheesy

Hi Community,

We've launched a TEKCoin pool, feel free to join

http://tek.miningfield.com

Pool has:

  • 1% Mining Fee
  • No withdraw fee
  • Available EU and US socks5 proxys to bypass network restrictions
  • US and EU Stratum ports with vardiff
  • SSL soon

Pçease add it to the official list of pools

Thanks!

Miningfield

I'm unable to find a block on my pool.

I've been test mining with a 60GH miner, found 1.4Million shares ( 1100% est. share) but no block.

There are no errors on the coin log, and debug shows other blocks beeing found on the network.

Is there any special configuration needed on the conf file?
https://github.com/Crypto-Expert/stratum-mining

Tek can be a royal bitch to mine. The only stratum I"ve found that actually works is crypto-expert stratum mining.

I've tried NOMP, Coiniumserv, and other variants of stratum, and that's the only one that actually seems to break blocks.

Howdy Y'all.

Sorry I haven't been around much, life took a few left turns and I've been extraordinarily busy. Rest assured, I've not forgotten nor abandoned this community.

I'm going to post up some info, speculation, and rants in the near future (as in later today), and kick this pig.

TC, as Shavers noted, was both more successful and more difficult than we had expected, so we're trying to get it as close to perfect as time allows.

Meanwhile, our official forum was spammed mercilessly while I was otherwise engaged. So, if any of you are on there and find yourselves locked out of posting, PM me there or here, and I'll fix it. I'm revising the board rules heavily, and I'm sure I'll miss somebody who should be upgraded. New users cannot post without being verified by Admins now. Sorry about that, but I deleted well over 500 spam posts from several (now banned) new members, and there's still more garbage to take out.

Yup... TEK's dev sold his account... I see it too...  Roll Eyes

Back to reality... are you claiming you have private messages stating said claim?

I'm assuming this is 'sarc on', with the rolling eyes?

Sounds like the comments you reference is 'FUD on'.

I agree with the rolling eyes, why would Dev want to sell his account when this coin has been doing so well?  If I'm not mistaken, didn't we all get an email that BTCtalk had data hacked, and we all needed to change passwords?

Wow. Just wow.

Ok, reality time. I talk to Thundertoe almost daily. We're friends. No, he hasn't sold his account.

Im new  I cant sync tek wallet
I make this step
1. Im load  Tekcoin wallet  2.3.0.0  and  load bootstrap
2. delete  blk0001 , blkindex  and extract  Bootstrap to  tekcoin directory.
3. run wallet

but now wallet have 0 active connection  and out of sync

How I make to sync tekcoin wallet

Tell me pls

It won't have ANY active connections until it finishes importing the bootstrap. A better way to tell, if you're in the QT wallet, is to click on the "help" tab, then debug console, and see how many blocks it has on the first tab of the console. It should be adding them constantly if the bootstrap is doing what it should. Be patient, it takes a long time. Or, if you're like me and patience is just a word, go do something else for a while or you'll go nuts Cheesy

You should consider adding Km/hr and Miles/hr

Seems that may be somewhat off putting for some users not knowing how 'fast' they're going in game.

Funny, I didn't really notice Tongue And I'm allegedly American. Guess I'm just comfortable with both systems.

Noise, I am wondering when we will have an updated mac wallet. Also, presently I have no coin control. It seems coin control has disappeared from the 9.8.0 upload. Maybe I just can't find it?
I can't build mac wallet by myself, older mac versions were built by Maxpower but he's not active recently.
MystPhysX can build a wallet for us for 25USD in BTC but I'd like to add visual theme and some other updates to the code before paying for mac build.

Regarding coin control, probably you just have to enable it in Settings > Options > Display > Display coin control features...
When your ready with the visual and updates let me know. I would be happy to contribute. Also, I followed your directions and now have coin control active again. Cant figure how it got shut off as it was active for weeks. ?

If you have cats or children, blame them  Grin

Otherwise, you probably did it inadvertantly. Happens to the best of us from time to time. In almost all wallets, it's where Noise told you, so next time it's missing or you have a new wallet, there it is Cheesy

to the idiot dumping across three exchanges:

You do realize you're cutting your own throat on this, right? We'll recover because we have a good product. There is no point to this action that I can see.

It's the idiot choice as it means cheaper GMC for the rest of us.

True. But it's also frightening to investors, especially newer ones. If somebody has the power to destroy value, and they use it, sane people have to wonder when they're going to do it again. Most traders aren't sane, which helps,. but traders are not the only investors.

Ive been lucky enough to get some of those dumped. Powers just shifting hands someone bought 17btc worth on polonex today at 11000 and the rest of the coins are actually diversifying that one large sum to other investors whether it's currently invested users strengthening their position or newcomers recognizing an opportunity...Hopefully people begin to buy GMC for the game(s) when/if that happens we all win. Until then, buckle those seat belts while the the ALT whales have a field day with easy arbitrage and market manipulations. Weeee

Yeah I picked up a few myself. Whoever was dumping is gonna regret it big time.

Let's see how it pans out.

You guys got the right attitude Cheesy I'm a bit jealous, as I have no BTC right now. Ah, well. It's come up quite a bit from the dump.
