3721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Methods that fraudsters use to scam people on: April 15, 2020, 06:54:42 PM
Scammers use public charging spots for scamming? That's certainly a new one. I guess soon we'll be no where safe. Aerial malware attacks, even when offline will be the new trend!!
Scammers or hackers do that.
There are youtube videos that shows how they can easily do this using public spots or connections like WiFi.
I read that there is a wifi device that can somehow mask itself to the public wifi that people connect. Since wifi connection these days requires logging in from your device to limit your wifi usage, it's possible that they're gonna trap people to phishing sites so I think that people should be wary of the public wifi they're connecting at.
Phones are far more vulnerable to hacks, so better not hold a lot of funds in your mobile wallet.
3722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Corona drop over or will it continue? on: April 15, 2020, 06:52:11 PM
It seems that prices will still fall considering the case of the pandemic continues to increase every day and I am not sure there will be a quick recovery even after this pandemic ends, but even so I think the decline will still be suppressed so as not to fall too deep, but that's all nothing know for sure because the price movement that will occur is very out of control because of the panic that remained there until the ongoing fall would at least be inevitable.
It will, but hey crypto-wise we're getting slight breach to 7k so that's quite nice for a recovery right now. Not sure when will this pandemic end, but from how severe it gets in my country, it seems like unlikely to decline right now.
Panics are quite common here right now, pretty much everyone especially in US could be selling crypto to USD when the virus hit the country.
3723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The current world market situation. on: April 15, 2020, 03:28:08 PM
Everything's pretty much down, not just oil.
Stock market's down too so consider stabilizing at a certain floor right now especially that we are in a pandemic situation. There's nothing to panic though as long as we're all at home and doing our usual thing at home.
Expect people selling their crypto coins a lot, unless it can be used as a payment method to buy common commodities.
3724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which one is the best to earn more? airdrop or bounty? on: April 15, 2020, 03:17:33 PM
How much you can earn in airdrop and bounty? Which is the fastest way in earning?
The best is bounty, you will be able to earn more reward here but airdrop is the fastest way to earn, within weeks to a month you will get your airdrop tokens but it's not the same with bounty, they take time, sometimes weeks and sometimes years
It might be those "long-time ago" question but to add up to discussion, I believe that bounties especially the IEOs would take pretty long time to earn something from them as I see it as they're counted into stakes and the tokens allocated to those stakes would be done after the projects roadmap into gaining investors finished.
It's pretty long time actually and I believe that some run for 3 months.
Airdrops are quicker ones, because from what I've seen before they're airdropped once the bounty starts running already.
Catch is there are some airdrops that would require KYC and I ain't one of the fans at those rules.
3725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cheating or Not? on: April 15, 2020, 02:44:28 PM
If it wasn't mentioned at first that KYC will be done post-project period, then it would be kinda unfair for people though. Not anyone would risk their identities for a crap exchange that would surely be a wasteland in some other time.
They should be able to know if the exchange that their coins will be listed requires KYC like submitting information to Google Form.
However it is upon the people's responsibilities if they're even awaiting for an announcement or just merely waiting without checking updates, because I believe devs do an update through Telegram.
3726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Browser extensions can steal bitcoin on: April 15, 2020, 02:41:00 PM
Don't know if these things still exist because you mentioned long time ago, but I would still advise people to be cautious. Not only in browser extensions but also to various apps in the Play Store as I believe that Metamask was returned there after it was removed by Google due to the same issue as Youtube removing crypto-related contents due to scams.
Believe me that these malicious attempts won't stop.
3727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Possible Effects of Coronavirus on the Crypto Industry on: April 14, 2020, 05:55:21 PM
I don't see India and Korea utilizing cryptos yet as an alternative way of payment but I know that they legalized it already. Too bad that we're still in the middle of the pandemic and we don't have definite time of when would this end, but surely people would start to buy cryptos after this.
Kinda not surprised about the stock market crash, like anyone surely thinks of grabbing their money to buy their needs because they know they can just do freelancing and earn there instead.
3728  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Well Organized Scam Projects on: April 14, 2020, 05:52:55 PM
Don't wait for someone to post in Scam Accusation before deciding, as you can investigate it by yourself anyway. Believe me, your research is more worth the money that you could've risked as you will not only save your money for some garbage throw investment but save a lot of investors from starting to have fear in investing due to many scams just like the fear that caused ICOs to disappear.
3729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Another Exchange got hacked on: April 14, 2020, 05:50:29 PM
A year without an exchange getting hacked? That's truly up to no one, OP.
There is no such thing as perfect security, because in the end someone made the whole system itself and that creator has the control of it, that's why we can't say that even such exchange that allows 2fa is secured.
Hopes up that the hackers won't have the same mindset as the exchange devs.
3730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why is Telegram associated with fraudsters on: April 14, 2020, 05:47:00 PM
Duh.
Telegram is still a small platform to think about how many fraudsters or shill projects are being talked about there. Look at larger platforms like Facebook and Twitter as numbers of possible scams is more than you think. I've seen many referral link just putting you into a bad position in the internet. I don't think that Telegram even thought about banning crypto-related groups there, but in larger platforms I mentioned I believe they banned crypto-related posts before.
3731  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is good amount to start day trading is 100$ enough?? on: April 14, 2020, 08:45:40 AM
I started way below your amount, OP.
I can't remember how much but since I was still starting up yet that day like I was still learning from tutorials, I didn't bother to invest just a tiny amount from it and hey I chose Binance.
To tell you from my experience, there ain't a "minimum" amount to start day trading. Don't know if there's still such an amount if you're getting hang of it, because I already stopped because that strategy doesn't apply to me.
3732  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What is the best crypto exchange? on: April 14, 2020, 08:41:05 AM
I daytraded before in Binance, and it is kinda nice to start with that exchange although there are limitations to 1 BTC per day to withdraw if you didn't submit KYC documents.
I ain't a big trader so I don't think I would need that anyway. I used Coinbase before and I wasn't able to buy Bitcoin that day because first I don't have any credit card and second it wasn't yet supporting our country but from the feedbacks of it, it seems a good exchange to buy BTC.
3733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Education on: April 14, 2020, 08:38:00 AM
If I can recall correctly, there were few universities around the world offering courses for Blockchain. Although Blockchain isn't typically equal to Bitcoin only, but due to the popularity of using the Blockchain, I think Bitcoin should be covered in curriculum. It might not be the whole technology behind Bitcoin itself, but it should be a nice cover-up.
I don't think that Bitcoin "should be taught", like even the primary levels would learn the basics into it. If there's courses that I could think of teaching cryptographic algorithm, it would be those technological courses like Information Tech and Computer Science.
3734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is our chance on: April 14, 2020, 08:31:01 AM
Today the bitcoin now is showing a reasonable market price and soon an income because the halving is coming and this is a good sign for new profit, today there is a lot of news relayed to the bitcoin, and some of them are many people getting more addresses related to the cryptocurrency and this is the excellent sign so many people today are starting to adopt the changes of bitcoin next is the many people today investing in the world of bitcoin so while the halving is coming it is rapidly growing the same with the people are many users added and this is the reason why we love the use of bitcoin.
Well we kinda think of having an income from it already especially those who were hodlinng from 4k buying.
There's never a better price to sell it anyway because some people entirely bought at different price.
Not sure about the adoption as we're still not yet over with this pandemic but it surely opened its doors for people to invest at.
3735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Offline cryptocurrency transfer? on: April 13, 2020, 08:08:19 AM
Well at first glance, it seems offline but even sending basic SMS requires a network data and medium for you to be able to send it to the other side.
I've seen another app having the same goal to send crypto through SMS.
Not sure if offline transactions are possible, but I believe that's one of crypto's weakness that it is dependent in the internet.
3736  Other / Politics & Society / Re: GLOBAL PANDEMIC - BLESSING IN DISGUISE on: April 13, 2020, 08:04:02 AM
Blessing at some angles but mostly it isn't, OP.
There are thousands of deaths happening globally and no matter how we look at it, it is bad. There are people dying right now. It is kinda selfish of thought to think that it is a blessing for something like crypto since we're hodling it anyway and we're not one of those people at the other side.
3737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time Will tell on: April 13, 2020, 08:01:18 AM
Well many countries are still able to invest in crypto using VPNs and such but government's power isn't just up to that. We never know what can they still do against crypto one day. For now we can see their regulations to crypto selling at some countries by imposing KYC policies which is kinda centralized idea that defeats the idea of decentralization that we know that crypto possesses that attribute.

It might depend on some country whether their government legalizes or not though.
3738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why bitcoin is unique. on: April 13, 2020, 07:57:01 AM
I'm fairly sure it's possible for billionaires to make 0 fee transfers between banks. That being said, tere are much more interesting features of Bitcoin:

- Its fixed and immutable money supply.
- Its pseudonymity.
- Its censorship resistance. You don't need anyone's permission to participate.
- Its digital, you can theoretically store a wallet in your head.
- etc.

Third is like freedom in other words, and I feel like that would encourage even the Gen Zs to put their money here in crypto so that they're free to buy anything with truly their own money without having to worry any other online methods that requires KYC verifications.
3739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the new method of "Initial offering" this year? on: April 11, 2020, 06:23:01 PM
I know why the investor there were not interested to ICO because there were many problem like project scam so they're leaved this way. But in IEO, was there a problem? The project will be far from scam because the investor will only chooss a good exchange to spend their money to IEO project that will be save. But why this way was leaved? I think we should find the answer first before we have an imagine to find another way to promote new project beside IEO and ICO.
There were already burst of scams of ICOs back in 2018, and I believe they started to disappear slowly that year because it doesn't seem like investors would look for more ICOs any further.
I've seen quite a lot of threads here before in the same board about those questions repeatedly.
Not sure if hype on IEOs is still the same as last year though, but from bounties I can see it seems it still have a moderate hype to it.
3740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What matters to grow the price of an Altcoin on: April 11, 2020, 12:52:46 PM
Value and its relevance.
What can you think of much more?
Consider also the community because of the demand of the buyers that would surely increase the price, but for sure the people inside a community would invest because the product has sort of "value" and "relevance" to what they need.
Also, consider the exchange on where the coins is about to be listed at.
