People won't just take this advice in a simple wording. Doing one's research is easier said than done, because you'll probably have difficult time to trust other people in the internet. Just like a newbie users here in the forum. With little to untrusted resources, it's really hard to just say "do your own research". It will require a lot of time.

You can't imagine because they won't ever vanish. Just picture this out. We already have the authority that busts these scammers outside crypto, but then these scams still manage to slip past of the authority. Even the scambusters I watch in Youtube like those call center scams, they're a lot and still operating. There will always be scams.

Because shitcoins will remain shitcoins, OP. Don't expect shit to turn into gold or anything that has value. They're meant to be dumped by a lot of investors overnight because they aren't for long-term investment. After the hype, these shitcoins will just fade away to existence. Not to mention that devs will do an exit scam one day in those shit projects.

That's nice. I can't wait to see the outcome of the session though. Please keep an update on this thread. I wish back in the days, this was mentioned at least in our class. I didn't take a business course, but mainly an IT course cause of choices.

It was available back then, I stumbled upon this thread last year from its initial post. It is nothing to believe at this even connects Satoshi to Eric Schiermeyer which is a Zynga co-founder. Just another joke video, you'll come upon in the internet aside from the fake-toshis here in the forum. It's even uploaded in Tiktok and I don't think there are a lot of serious stuffs in Tiktok anyway.

People are so different and because of that, there will always be rich and poor people. To get rid of poverty, those who worked hard must share their achievement with those who are lazy. You can help these kind of people once or twice, but with more help, they will simply sit on the neck and parasite. Poverty is something persons has chosen to be or have. With effort everything can be changed.
Still even if effort would be made, life would just really suck for someone. Being part of 1 percent really needs a luck as well. There will always be poor and rich. Rich people would need poor people to work for them in order for their business to function as planned. Sometimes it is a choice, but sometimes it is just what it is that people need to live through.

I wouldn't look too much in newer coins. ETC is something to be looked into, OP though you're saying that if it should be capable of being 10x? Expect lower than that because I never even managed to stumble upon that kind of increase even in bull run.

Hey, we somehow have the same story which happened in a BTC Talk account though in my case, it was a bit different. On one ordinary day in January 2020, I opened Bitcointalk forum in my web browser chrome. Did daily check on my account like messages, replies from a thread. You know the usual stuff that one do in their profile. However on the lower part of my profile page. there goes a negative trust. It was from tvplus006 that said that I was posting some doubler scam in Investor-based section here. I was like surprised because I didn't post anything like that and I never once in my life even visit that section nor post something to it. So like the usual, I asked help in a thread and pm'ed the one that gave me negative trust as well and referred the link to the thread that I created. It turns out someone from "Turkey" logged into my account based on the IP logs provided here in the forum. It went well in the end. I changed my password and log out because that would end every session of anyone logged into my account in different device. I cleaned my PC with an antivirus and some basic disk cleaning software, because I was really panicking that my sensitive info might get leaked or even used to a bad things. Scanning and cleaning one's PC for malware/virus is often overlooked by many but it is indeed crucial. I learned my lesson that day to always clean my PC and log out every session not just in my Bitcointalk Forum account. If anyone is curious on where is the thread that I made that day. Here it is : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5217251.msg53594867#msg53594867It might be over a year already, but I wanted to thank everyone again in that thread for their help in my situation. tldr; Somebody from Turkey got into my BTC Talk account, so I did every means to not ever let it happen again with the help of reputated members here in the forum.

I honestly dumped off a bit from my BTC since I really need some cash so yeah it isn't that bad of a decision because I didn't even go all out dump, otherwise it would be the end of me here in crypto.... meh just kidding I won't even panic to recover losses from the bull-run that happened. If I managed to sell before the bull-run happened, it would take long time for me to go back because I'll surely need to wait for another dip or train stop. Congrats to your success by the way, OP as I assume your success from the post you made.

Not just hypes but also from celebrities hypes on where it came from, OP. I don't hate Elon Musk and in fact I even respect him, but the hype he brought to some coins is quite large that it pumped the price of many coins even DogeCoin if I can recall correctly. I didn't invest in Doge so I am not sure how it went.

Well it's a trend. It's not just the scammer that would surely follow up, but surely hackers of any sort grey/white/black hat hackers. Back when Facebook became a trend, although this isn't crypto related but in terms commonality from how you described it, there were many hackers of account in order to profit from it from the information getting leaked.

"Ah yes, enslaved hodlers", they said. They're simply just don't have their own instinct. Some people are too easily brainwashed by these people and even by celebrities. People think that all these celebrities are always correct by their own beliefs.

Simply put it as well as why do people still pay in fiat money even if there are bank cards that would conveniently pay bills and almost anything from a store. Even though banks put fees on those and Bitcoin doesn't, it still does almost the same thing. Even the government would still choose banks most of the time, even though some legalized Bitcoin in their own respective countries.

Depends on how much I hold. If I hold more than that amount, I wouldn't mind sending it to different address for security. If I was holding like .0002 BTC, it's obvious that I don't need to send it to different address. It's just a small amount even in my local currency. When I get 1 BTC, I might consider splitting it to two or three at max.

Hackers are situational. Just make sure you're not hodling crypto or any forms of coin in an online wallet for obvious reasons. "If you don't have your private key, it isn't your money, profit, coin, etc". One would simply freeze your wallet and there's nothing you can do about it. That's even aside from hackers. That's regulation.

I kind of remember one user here in the forum. He isn't reputated but he indeed made a seminar about Bitcoin and somehow it was success. We're on the same country, OP and I hope I could do the same as well to my colleagues, but some how they're not really that interested that much in cryptos. They're more like a bank-type.

They won't and it won't matter. They have been inactive for quite some time now and surely it will stay like for an indefinite time. Imagine if they made an activity right now here in the forum. It will surely blow everyone's mind including the media. It will somehow eliminate fake-toshis in this forum, but meh don't count on their appearance anytime soon.

When it was bearish, you should've bought something even a little bit even if you're weren't sure. I'll assume that you were waiting for the price hike so that you'll see signal that you're up to investing something right now. It is somehow dipping around lately so that's an opportunity especially for Bitcoin. Don't panic though as many would say from a perspective of hodler.

I haven't been in a while with ETH. Not sure what but it surely applies to every coin that we hold. It's about the continuous development I believe. Fixing any vulnerabilities that it would possibly be exploited and as you mentioned, hacked.

There are many risks, but don't let it get into you too much. Volatility is the one that many would think. Vulnerability is the second because imagine that your money is in digital and a piece of hack could still all your money from it. Just don't use online wallets so that you'll at least lessen the risk and keep your pc clean for obvious reasons. If an account is hackable, so does a wallet. I am looking forward for you case study. I conducted mine but it wasn't the successful back in 2017.
