3001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: sharply diverged expectations for bitcoin on: March 31, 2021, 12:12:06 PM
Hello, manul888.
Please move this thread to Bitcoin Discussion section, as this isn't related to the forum itself.
3002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: significance of different altcoilns on: March 31, 2021, 08:28:17 AM
Hello, OP.
Please look up Google first before starting a new thread here.
CMC (CoinMarketCap) is one that you're gonna look up for many coins even the top 10 and so on.
Many data are provided there. The charts, the exchange it is traded at and to what coin can it be traded, wallets, etc. More than what you can ask for.
3003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I went big into Bitcoin and Ethereum... on: March 31, 2021, 08:22:18 AM

Hello, OP.
That's quite a huge buy, huh.
I am not even halfway from that amount from my earnings.

In regards to your question since you bought Trezor, you might need to consider moving your funds to it now.
Regardless of how reputated, secured, or even rated an exchange is, don't hold your coins there.

It takes just someone spending all day finding vulnerability to a site before he/she/they get/s access to your account and once that happens, the obvious would happen.
3004  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has the potential to become the central bank of the central banks on: March 31, 2021, 08:18:38 AM

Not sure if such would be possibility even if it reaches $1 Trillion or more.
People would still think that Bitcoin would still be an unstable currency.
$1 Trillion would be hella dream for everyone.

Quite nostalgic post from the OP by the way.
3005  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple, Amazon and the collapse of all Banks on: March 31, 2021, 08:08:31 AM

This, but I don't think their ways would do anything if in nature is that Bitcoin is decentralized.
I imagine they'll implement banning through every ISP to block each trading sites or any crypto-related platforms but people still have the freewill to distribute VPNs.
3006  Other / Meta / Re: Is there an app for this forum? on: March 30, 2021, 07:50:19 PM
IIRC, There was a Bitcointalk app before on playstore, I'm not sure whether moderator here released it or some user here but I'm sure that there was an available app before but it's still in development phase that time.
I guess you are talking about this Firefox add-on for Android phones that fahbil created > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4500633.0.

The user who developed it hasn't been online since July 2018. No one has tagged him as a scammer, he has received a decent amount of merits for the add-on, and there are no posts about users having their accounts hacked after using the app. Nevertheless, I would be very careful entering my login details in anywhere outside of the forum, and I don't suggest that people do that. For those who don't care or think they have nothing to lose, they can try it and see how it works.
Bingo! That was it, thank you!

Even the user/OP of the thread was last active almost 3 years ago, so yeah using the app isn't really recommended anymore.
3007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which plan seems better? on: March 30, 2021, 07:43:26 PM

In your case, I wouldn't even think of other coins none other than Bitcoin and only Ethereum for now.
Unless the amount I currently hodl right now is not gonna really hurt my sanity if I get losses though mostly I don't do other coins except for those two coins I mentioned.
3008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government ban on crypto on: March 30, 2021, 07:41:26 PM

I wasn't even aware that FBI held Bitcoins already.
Even those who impose law to it were even hodling something for themselves just to keep their people away from it.
3009  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you like Volatility? Debate on: March 30, 2021, 02:35:55 PM
Let me ask a question, why investors should invest in Bitcoin if it's stable in a place? I know rather than call it to invest more suite is accumulate. But the truth is investors are here to take advantage of volatility. Honestly, they aren't thinking that Bitcoin was created to present a peer to peer electronic money. Why investors and big institutional investors aren't buying or storing USDT? Because it's s stable coin and they wouldn't take advantage of volatility. Bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency because of its volatility. Very rarely users are thanking for the technology behind Bitcoin. Of course, I like volatility and that's call trading. Due to trading, we might see volatility on Bitcoin.
This.
This is half of the reason why I invested aside from the convenience stuffs that Bitcoin can do in a simple transaction without having to go out of my house.
The instability becomes an opportunity for everyone to invest in here though that is surely a double-edged sword for anyone, maybe except the whales.
Price could fall either down or up.

USDT is, of course, a stablecoin. There ain't profits into it. It could be a temporary safe haven from all the profits made from trading.
3010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A quick thought on how to help/save bitcoin. on: March 30, 2021, 06:39:21 AM
If I was just an ordinary human being that scrolls down in Twitter, Facebook or even Reddit and I managed to read that post with plenty of heart, retweet, etc, I would most likely just skip it.

I would think of it as shilling a coin and it could be a purely a scam.

Let people decide on their own whether they want to invest something in Bitcoin or not. I already tried that with my other friends and they don't even care.
Oh would you look at that whopping 20k -> 57k increase.

So no, I don't think your suggestion would help OP.
3011  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is it worth taking BTC off an exchange to a hardware wallet? on: March 30, 2021, 06:35:04 AM
Just imagine that you bought a house but the keys aren't in your hands but handled by other people.
Those people have the free-will to rob your house and wouldn't even put a notice to you, because you don't even have a key.

Worst case scenario in those type of situations would be freezing your money to their site though I never heard Coinbase freezing accounts just yet.
3012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin adoption isn't stopping on: March 30, 2021, 06:31:37 AM
Right, when Paypal join crypto, just a matter of time before Visa or Mastercard rushing and preparing their infrastructure for a massive upgrade to cover bitcoin and other crypto as another payment method.

Although bitcoin is really growing, doesn't mean that it will not go down. It is still one of the best investments but at the risk is still there. But this is welcoming news indeed, but the biggest news is still Elon Musk and Tesla investing into bitcoin.
Quite rapid adoption to be honest.
Didn't expect that another digital payment system would implement another that would be able to do p2p transaction.
Isn't it kinda being against their own that Bitcoin exist?
Bitcoin is decentralized while theirs aren't.
3013  Other / Meta / Re: Password Visible Option on: March 30, 2021, 06:21:48 AM
There are other ways to do it though.

Technical way: Edit the Input type of the password field from the HTML from "password" to "text" using Chrome Dev Tools(Shortcut Key:F12). You have to do this every time you login though.

User-friendly way: I searched some quite rated Chrome Extensions that would do what you need, I found this from Chrome Web Store. [ShowPassword]
Just need to hover your cursor on password field so it would show automatically.

Suggestion of it being implemented to the forum is not necessary nor needed in my opinion.

@OP, Why are you having hard time connecting Vpn? You can just use TOR browser if you really want to browse privately.
There was like a Firefox Addon that was made back in 2018 if I can recall correctly.
Not sure if source code was updated though.

I wouldn't trust any mobile apps for now unless it's well-recognized here in the forum. Cheesy
3015  Economy / Reputation / Re: Let's take action against unpaid Signature/Bounty campaign together. on: March 29, 2021, 10:19:13 AM
Scams aren't moderated, OP.
Even if you gather help from a lot of people here, the only thing that could be done would be tagging the users behind the project.

Telegram group isn't necessary as there is a Scam Accusation board to discuss those already.
I would suggest reading and visiting each boards first, because judging from your posts history you don't seem to visit any other places other than the Bounty thread as it is full of Bounty reports.
3016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the official uses of bitcoin other then trading? on: March 29, 2021, 09:02:54 AM
~
Will it only be used for investing/speculation as long as its price is this unstable? Can you imagine a normal acting like bitcoin does? I guess pink papers/penny  stocks do that but those are just legal pump and dumps that clog up your work fax with junk faxes that come through at 4:00AM making sure you will se it.
Only be used?
I just recently bought a headphones in my local e-shop with the use of Bitcoin, OP.
Although Bitcoin's being seen as more of an investment, while its aim is for almost an anonymous transaction, the part where it can't be controlled by 3rd parties and authorities will surely make it a lot viable for borderless transaction.
3017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government ban on crypto on: March 29, 2021, 08:53:42 AM
~
Because the truth is? US is playing with Bitcoin and the whole market of it (Including altcoins) because just like what you said they can easily banned this or even stop if they want it.

But clearly they dont and they wont because of the benefits that they are gaining or the benefits they will get in the future.
...or maybe the government is hiddenly hodling Bitcoin already so that people would sell their coins when they impose a ban, causing price to plummet and they'll take the coins that have been dumped.
Hodling Bitcoin in such specific wallets like cold storage would make them anonymous, or pseudonymous at the least and people wouldn't know.
3018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dump just after a new listing? on: March 29, 2021, 07:14:28 AM
~

That is the strategy most of the whales used to buy a token. First dump the coin price and starts panic selling and then buy the dip followed by a pump. Some times the price dips because of the selling pressure from bounty participants because it is common for bounty hunters to sell their tokens when ever they get listed on any exchange. So relax, the price will pump in coming days and you will get profit, keep this in your mind that you must sell your token at the first pump.
This is why I don't hodl alts that much sometimes anymore.
This panic selling is quite common than expected especially to what you mentioned, whales.
Bounty hunters selling could just do the minimal, but not much because the allocation to it isn't as big as to the allocation of tokens/coins to other parts if you would look to certain bounty allocation pie chart.
3019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Efforts of holding wasted on: March 29, 2021, 07:12:12 AM
There are just those coins that are worth hodling because not everybody dumps.
And there are just those coins that would be for quick profits that's why you should sell them immediately while the price is still on a... worth the sales.
Consider those bounty hunters that would seemingly dump all the coins just right after the coins got listed in the exchange.
3020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to find coins to be listed on famous exchangers? on: March 29, 2021, 07:08:59 AM
recently we can see projects listed on famous exchangers like Binance marked huge hike before list on the exchange. I think it's a good strategy to invest. is there any way to identify projects, which going to be listed on famous exchangers soon as possible?
Well identifying projects? Meh.
You can never even be too sure if one would be listed too even if the devs claim it to be listed.
Just keep scrolling down to the list coins currently listed in Binance or keep an eye out of the coins in CMC.
