3621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still sleeping? on: July 28, 2020, 03:40:31 PM
You could say I am sleeping but meh I am not that interested in new projects these days, and no I never had any regrets.
If there's any crypto-related regret I had then it would be that I discovered cryptocurrency late in 2017. That's all.
In terms of investment of projects, never had any regret through that year that you mentioned.
3622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTOCURRENCY INVESTMENT SAFTY TIPS on: July 24, 2020, 01:41:03 PM
I can add a few thought in your list:
1. Use dummy email accounts, you can publicly those without any worry.
2. Nope, use top 3 exchange with real volume cap or good reputation.
3. 2FA is a must in almost every exchange today
4. Agree, I have nothing to add.
5. Use can use password keeper, just need to remember 1 master password for it.

I've tried before in using junk mails especially when joining airdrops in here, because I believe that they require email address and I don't want to use my real email address. Good thing I did though because there were quite plenty of junk mails I receive from the airdrop and one even attempted to lure me into their phishing site.

I must add up also.
6. Never leave any single cents of your money into an exchange ever.
3623  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Twitter Accounts Hacked & Used to Scam People on: July 23, 2020, 01:17:49 PM
I just saw MrBeast's twitter getting hacked too.

Is this thing still going on? I have read that twitter had already took those tweet down. And they already prevent verified accounts from posting temporarily, right?

He is known to be a huge Youtuber and known for donating huge amount to streamers and do other stuffs that usually tell people how much money he has. People would really fall for this especially those people that know MrBeasts since its his nature to be that kind of guy. Twitter should really improve their security and I hope that no one fell for this.

Yeah, this guy is a bit different among the list of those who get hacked, he's more of a generous guy. However, I don't think Mr.Beast would ask you to donate first before giving you back. Besides, what's the sudden interest to crypto though? He's mostly known for giving away cash.

I believe it's over now. I just checked Bill Gates' twitter and I don't see that tweet anymore.
I guess it was resolved now.
To think that twitter accounts of even those who protected it with the highest security are still vulnerable to such hacks makes me think twice as well if I would still feel safe on what I tweet or post or even write to other sites.
3624  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there any way to out of this insecurity? on: July 23, 2020, 01:14:49 PM
Over the past few years, I have been horrified by the way accounts of various exchanges and crypto-related websites and individuals have been hacked by hackers. Is there any way to out of this insecurity? I think cryptocurrency will lose popularity if it continues like this, share your ideas on what can be done to overcome this situation.
Even government sites get hacked.
Everything in the internet is vulnerable.
Have you heard about the recent Twitter hacks that scammed a lot of people recently?
There's no such thing as perfect security as long as you're using something under one's creation or code to be precise.

So for exchanges, regardless of how reputated it is, hacks aren't avoided.
That's why people are advised to not keep their money/fund/capital in an exchange wallet when they're not trading.
It's not your money when you put it in an online wallet because you don't hold the private key, remember that.
3625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty or Airdrop kill project? on: July 23, 2020, 01:09:48 PM
You can count investors as well as I believe they tend to dump as well when the project finishes, thus getting their return after.
I don't think it is all up to bounty hunters, while we can still think that they're gonna sell as well after the project but it is not just them obviously.
Imagine how small percentage of the whole token/coin allocation are bounties compared to the whole tokens made.
3626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you doing now? on: July 23, 2020, 01:07:05 PM
In corona Pandemic, I have no job to earn. So I am joining several campaigns from bitcointalk?

What are you doing now?
Finding part-time job and good thing I found some.
You can do microtasks that could help you in earning quite few quarters, but if one really looks for something that would help them sustain monthly expenses then I would do freelance for good.

When earning through cryptos, I just keep holding BTC. Well you could say I am earning through signature campaigns as well.
3627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How the wallet is hacked, what should I do? on: July 22, 2020, 01:37:28 PM
Many people fall victim to a hack and this causes them to lose all of their cryptocurrencies
But how do the hackers enter the wallets that have a very high level of security?
Unfortunately, it depends on the ignorance of some people, not on software methods.
For example: When a message arrives in an e-mail requesting the private key, many beginners will respond to this message and send their key, which is really sad.

Here are some instructions that might help beginners:
1- Save your private key in an offline device
2- Distribute your cryptocurrencies to several govern orates to avoid losing all of them if one of the wallets is hacked
3- Do not reply to any message from an unknown source
4- Create an e-mail address for airdrops and Bounty campaigns

Do you have any other suggestions?

Don't use an online wallet to add it up also.
There are sites that would just require you to login in your usual login credentials (email and password), and pretty much those wallets are quite vulnerable to hacks.

For #4, when you register to an airdrop and you got an email for that, be cautious to the "Claim Tokens", etc thing.
Back in my days, a site that hides themselves as MEW (that's what I use for temporary claiming of  tokens only) just to make you put your wallet file into their site.
3628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin soon will become a boring investment? on: July 22, 2020, 01:32:35 PM
Allot of people are making investment in Bitcoin, even with the risks involved. Everybody want to own Bitcoin. Many have half or more than half of their portfolio invested in Bitcoin already, This digital currency is becoming  almost common to all, when everyone owns a Bitcoin who then will care about it as it will be as common and a boring investment.

I believe this is a treat in the Bitcoin market value, could this actually bring down the market? Or it is a sign for feature increase in the market? Your thoughts are welcome..
Where did "many have half or more than half of their portfolio invested in Bitcoin already" come from?
Even though Bitcoin comes to mind when it comes to building each's portfolio, alts are still there for them to invest at.
I think that when everyone owns bitcoin already which we never know what year will that happen anyway, then I would see it getting adopted aside from being an investment. I don't think it would be a boring investment anymore since it has that use of being like a real life money we got today.
3629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin dominance falling, time to bag in some alts? altcoin party? on: July 22, 2020, 01:25:15 PM
With the bitcoin price being stable around 9k USD it is possible that people are moving to alts because of lack of volatility in bitcoin price.

Now the hypocrisy here is that because some nocoiners say that the volatility is the reason why they dont like bitcoin and then the same lack of volatility makes them move away from bitcoin too. I guess they dont want to put money in any cryptocurrency at all.

But the charts dont always point to what the possibilities are. It is a more of a 50-50 chance. Would not suggest buying altcoins at all unless you are very confident that they are going to go up in future, most of the time it is an inorganic pump.

Well there are two types of people anyway when it comes to volatility.
One are those type of people who are scared of the volatility in BTC. They might be buying right now because it is stabilizing above the price as you mentioned (9k)
Another one are those type of people that love the volatility since that made them gain, although losses are common as well.
Good thing I sold those alts I hold back in 2017.
3630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Calls On Hackers to Attack Ethereum 2.0 in Exchange for Bug Bounty on: July 22, 2020, 01:22:20 PM
I guess this is a good step towards security although I believe that there ain't perfect securities now that we're dealing with cryptocurrency.
I thought they already have white hat hackers in their team to handle this kind of penetration test to find bugs and vulnerabilities of Ethereum, it is a good bounty though.
3631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I hope this helps new crypto investors, do not hesitate to read on: July 21, 2020, 01:40:18 PM
I wish I could drop a merit for this one.
In #9 to add it up, check their repositories if they're actively working on the project.
I've seen some having their first repository in a month then seems like it is going forever to have another repository.
For the utility cases, check their WPs.
3632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fill your bag with caution on: July 21, 2020, 01:36:19 PM
~

Looks like the bull run won't come anytime soon so the exposure of these crappy projects won't appear anytime soon. They're like hiding in the bushes right now grabbing the moneys of investors treading around CoinMarketCap.
I believe that people don't really just invest that much of a time to the three guidelines that you mentioned, and that's why there are still simply people getting scammed.

True, everyone tells you: "buy any coin on the top of CMC and you will be fine" but I have to disagree with that. It was never bad to be picky even in a discount time like this cause it was your hard earn money after all. Only invest and fill your bag with some coins really good.
Scam coins make it to coinmarketcap nowadays, that's not a big deal, this is different from listing on binance as it doesn't cost a thing, if the advice was 'buy any coin that's listed on binance' I would have agree, coinmarketcap doesn't guarantee the future success of a project
I read before that Binance already bought CMC. Do scam coins still make their way there?
Seems like reputated exchange won't help reducing scam coins, huh.
3633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth going for me? on: July 21, 2020, 01:27:49 PM
I don't like projects who does this.
If they see an opportunity to gain more they will do it over and over again.

Just like this.
Turbo sale? Sold out.
And then, 2nd turbo sale? So what?! If its sold out again there is going to be a 3rd one?
But you should still decide for yourself. It's your money which is on the line. Better be worth every penny.
It is just like a way to lure investors, ey?
It's like a bait for me or like a unlit tempt "to buy more".
Anyways @OP, I am not yet putting red flags on the said project you said, but I never heard of PayAccept project anywhere just yet so in these cases, think twice first.
3634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Technical analysis won't help you find the next 100x on: July 21, 2020, 01:23:20 PM
Back in my day trading, I tried to get hang of it specifically with the help of those tools like Bollinger band that I learned from a tutorial.
To be honest, it never even gave me a positive net.
It is still up to the trader sometimes and people shouldn't trust their profits to a piece of code or technology.
It is still up to your own experience/learnings/rationality.
3635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: It's always about your choice on: July 20, 2020, 04:19:57 PM

Most of the time, you wouldn't consider #2.
Those types of promises like the distribution of tokens are mostly handled by the devs.
Bounty managers are mostly the ones in charge of their participants weekly post counts/ shares in social media, as well as counting the stakes weekly.
It would be plus of a point for me if they're even validating each participant, in case someone claims to be another account just to get to the highest rank with higher stakes of course.

Success of the bounty isn't fully dependent on the success of the project.
There are some successful scams and tend to disappear in thin air, leaving bounty hunters complaining.
3636  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is based on probability. on: July 20, 2020, 04:14:57 PM
~
And the said events could be said to number to be close to infinite. Not to mention the undisclosed news that only those select circles can get their information from. Sure, we can try to trade based on the info we have, but that pretty much results in again probability. Do experts win in any market? Nah, They are able to reduce their losses to the minimum at any market. No one wins always you know.

It's basically how there's only two events when trading, winning or losing. A 50/50 chance, but that doesn't necessarily mean that losing is bad, there are various types of losses, ranging from controlled losses to total loss. Experts don't always win and can always control their losses because they know that the chances are always 50/50, it's rather easy to know when you're going to lose and not. And it's not like the more you lose the higher your chances of winning are next time, the odds always reset, whether it be every second, minute or hour.

Considering that trading an unstable coin, you know that infos in social media aren't to be relied on.
It's all about roll of the dice sometimes. Only thing that could save your from that probability is probably diversed investment or just simply investing those funds that you wouldn't mind losing at all.
I never seen experts in this market, but there are plenty of celebrities pretending to be expert.
3637  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to transmit funds from an exchange to relatives on: July 20, 2020, 03:55:31 PM
I am not sure if Binance does the same but my experience to some small exchange was that they can't help me with it since my phone's LCD got burned that I can't even see the whole screen,  and it's dead pixel all over.
However I believe that's a support issue for an exchange, and I believe that Binance can still help you with that.

What sort of "backdoor" are you talking about? Try to get in touch with Binance first so that there would somehow an assurance if they can still help you get access to your account back again, because pretty much it is a loss no matter how we look at it unless you try what I said.
And no, don't even think of loaning just to regain your lost fund.
3638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherscan or Ethplorer on: July 12, 2020, 05:16:36 AM
I don't really have any preference of what tracker of wallet should I use when I was doing bounties back then.
Sometimes the coins I earned differ in price in some exchanges, so either of the two is my choice regardless on what I clicked.
It is just up to one's preference.
3639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Back then and Now, lesson learnt on: July 12, 2020, 05:14:46 AM
I never heard any of those coins you mentioned but looking  from how you invested for those, it seems like you learned your lesson from it.
I earned some quite few tokens back then realizing they're also dead coins right now.
This shows that the variation of the coins in the market doesn't really give too much opportunity to invest at.
Plenty of opportunity is kind of a overstatement, because most of them ended up to be a shitcoin anyway.
3640  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade isn’t for Me guys. on: July 11, 2020, 01:47:13 PM
Well you could still earn aside from trading anyway.
I know that nobody enjoys losses but do you still see yourself earning from it like you enjoy learning the ropes of trading.
Day trading wasn't for me and I am even quite lazy to get back up so I just decided to throw it all to Bitcoin.
It's either you go back to trading once again or try other things to earn in crypto.
