therefore would simply be to either remove the airdropped merits, or have them start to decay slowly over time.
That's exactly what I expected other demotions that aim at higher rank members.
By now, the forum has only one demotion wave after merit system's beginning, aim at Junior Members in September last year.
If other demotions aim at Full Members, Senior Members, Heroes, and Ledgendaries implemented, I am sure that we will witness others sudden rises of merit circulations, like what happened in Sep. 2018 or in Jan. 2019 with Default Trust Change.
8102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: February 24, 2019, 02:00:31 PM
that's a long journey for crypto what you are talking about. looks like bull run is near beacuse BTC crossed 4000$ and eth price is also upto 160$
2000$ of eth is huge and need billions dollars in the market cap. i have no idea that will happens or not but one thing is clear that crypto is rising. thumbs up!!!
That sort of high price will not be reached in near future.
It takes years before Ethereum can hit $2000.
Of course, I hope that ETH will do it, even years later.
8103  Other / Meta / New collection of badges for self-made users on: February 24, 2019, 01:44:48 PM
I gone a long journey from Newbie to Full Member, then come very close to Senior Member.
Honestly, I gone faster than what I envisioned at the start of 2019.
I have been rewarded around 100 sMerits since the start of 2019, it's amazing.

Today, I thought that it might be great if the forum launch a new collection of badges for self-made users.
The collection will be totally different the current badges.
It might help forum users easily to distinguish between self-made users, and airdropped users.
Of course, for some users, there are overlaps between airdropped and self-made between ranks.

1) Self-made Full Members:

2) Self-made Senior Members:

3) Self-made Heroes:

4) Self-made Ledgendaries:

Fully displayed badge:

I hope that theymos will accept the collection on April 1st this year.

I couldn't wait for April 1st, I'm wearing it now Cheesy
You remind me what made me shock on 1st of April last year.
It's a big shock for me after the merit system launch in January of 2018.
Last year, I felt like, "OMG, merits, karma, politeness, etc. All of them will ruin my life".  Smiley

8106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: February 24, 2019, 08:41:02 AM
It depends on both Ethereum and Bitcoin.
There is uncertainty about the sustainability of the current rising tide of Ethereum.
Personally, I took profit and jumped out.
Maybe, I did not take profits at the highest price of this wave, but it is enough for my target.
I will wait more weeks to see what happen next with Ethereum, till making my next orders.
Just wish that not another bull trap! It’ll fall faster than it raised, thus don’t get too excited. Hold off until you see another strong signal. Possibly we are toward the start of a bull run, this is the thing that my fantasy. My earnest appeal kept growing and growing.
8107  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: Replace avatars of banned members on: February 24, 2019, 07:34:18 AM
Agreed.
Avatar is needed and essential to help others know that which accounts got banned.
No, leave the avatar: an avatar without signature is an easy indicator that the account is banned.
Nevertheless, I think that the specific avatar designed by the forum is better than keeping the avatar each user used before got banned.
Like this one:

Because, without specific indicative avatar like this, it will be a trick for new users.
They don't have enough knowledge about the forum to know that those accounts got banned or not.

Update for today:
For full analysis results, please visit the following two topics:
1) Time Series Analysis on Distributed Merits in the forum (daily, weekly, monthly)
2) Tracking the difference of merit circulations with Default Trust Changes
It seems that the Default Trust Changes's effects on merit circulations have almost gone away, 6 weeks later the Default Trust Change.

In short:

Basic statistics:
- 50% of observed weeks have total intra-week merits above 4466, whilst the rest 50% of them have total intra-week merits below 4466. 4466 is the median.
- 50% of observed weeks have total intra-week merits fluctuated in the range from 3809 to 5559 (the interquartile range, from p25 to p75, in raw statistics below).

Honestly It is the most safest way to download a wallet from their orignal website. Otherwise you have a chance to have fake or malware included wallet. I will suggest you to follow the instruction of this thread to be secure from wallet related scam.
It's good if you can create a guide topic on how to use virustotal.com to scan and detect virus/ malware from online sources.
I believe that the topic, when published officially, will get massvie rounds of applause from bitcointalkers.
I have waited for the sort of topic.

PIVX team done well to fix issues and made improvements as additional protective mechanisms to fight against future attacks.
Testsuite's testing results for both five repetitions of test shown all good results (OK, in the report of PIVX team).
Is it good time to catch attention of investors on PIVX, again?
I felt like the PIVX has done well and took advantage of the latest issues to build up better reliabilty on the project.
Once again, PIVX team have demonstrated their highly professionality.

Dash and Kripto Mobile teamed up last August to release a series of Dash-enabled cryptocurrency phones in Venezuela and eventually neighboring countries.
One more step to help DASH invaded deeper into real lives of Latin Americans, especially the Venezuelians.
I strongly believe that the expansion over so many nations in Latin America will play a very important role for near future growth of DASH.
It might show good effects in late months of 2019 or early of 2020.
8120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: February 23, 2019, 02:31:02 AM
Bear market has probably come to its end, then we have been in early phase of the Bull Market.
Looks like the bear market is finally over!

However, you sounds likely over optimistic about the predicted price of Litecoin.
$200 per Litecoin sounds very un-realistic.
It will take long period, might be months or years to see Litecoin hit such a high price, obviously with strong supports from both Bitcoin and general crypto market in the long-run.
