8561  Other / Meta / Re: merit and banned on: June 15, 2018, 05:04:21 AM
I think we should sent a warn before banned member of range
Yeap, banners should spend their time to read basic, important rules of BTT forum before complaining about their bans' reasons.
Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ
Shitposters have definitely gotten PMs for their deleted threads.

For users who abused the forum, merit system, plagiarism, etc., I don't see need to send them warning messages, honestly.
Abusers should be banned immediately after get found with as strict punishments as possible.
8562  Other / Meta / Re: What does a Jr. Member do? on: June 12, 2018, 05:17:08 AM
3. Investigate spammers and  merit farming then report them
In my opinion, you should focus on learning, improving your knowledge, skills, rather than spend most or all of your time in the forum to find cheaters, spammers, abusers.
Of course, it's good thing when you find them by chance and report them to moderators due to their abusements.
But, I strongly suggest you not spend your time solely to find them, because it is one of best way to waste your precious time.

Instead, I recommend you to find prestigous guys in the forum and their invaluable, helpful topics. Someone like Jet Cash, TMAN, The Pharmacist, Lauda, iasenko, mdayonliner, hugeblack, etc.
You can learn bunches of amazing things from them.
8563  Other / Meta / Re: Sex for merit? on: June 12, 2018, 05:13:58 AM
Not me. Just for fun!

lol, just a kidding image, and more than 10 merits come.
Haha. good initiatives, guys.
8564  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: for merit review on: June 12, 2018, 05:13:14 AM
hello guyz i've tried creating arts of merit hoping to get one Wink

Honestly, inforgraphics is mostly relevant for kids, and most of the forum members don't need them.
inforgraphics, which contains less details than full ANN topic (of Theymos, forum admin), might lead to misunderstandings about essential stuffs of merit system and new rank requirements.
For someone, who have not known what merit system is, and how to rank up after merit system implemented simultaneously with new rank requirements, please read the topic:
Merit & new rank requirements
8565  Other / Meta / Re: Is the merit system flawed? on: June 03, 2018, 03:02:54 AM
It's true and is one of the most important advantages of merit system and new rank requirements.
Every system has its flaws but I believe the pros of the merit system far outweighs the cons.

I am not sure what you said have been actually happened in the forum after the launch of merit system or not. Nevertheless, merit farms, account farms will keep appearing in the forum. Personally, I strongly believe in the merit system because it has massive amazing impacts on farms by keeping farming accounts stucked at low ranks in the forum.

In a way the forum is becoming "cleaner" daily as people are becoming more aware of account farming and other fraudulent activities.
8566  Other / Meta / Re: Reserve translations spammers on: May 28, 2018, 11:20:45 AM
Yes and I reported few days ago some of it.
Some users use "reserved" or "res" as a text
Oh, there hundreds (maybe thousands) of such thread created each day.
Nevertheless, what I known is such non-sense threads which contains one common word like this will be deleted (I am not sure, might be due to mods or automatically deleting non-sense thread bots of the forum).
Forum rules

1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads. [1][e]

1. Such posts like "SELL SELL SELL", "I agree", "+1", "Support", "Watching", "Interesting", "LOL", "SCAM", "LEGIT", "FAKE", other one word posts, posts consisting mostly of swearing, quote pyramids, useless introduction threads, threads about a topic already recently discussed in several other threads.
8567  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: May 28, 2018, 11:15:04 AM
I think it is often a good idea to remove outliers from statistics.
Yeap, this is basic principle of statistics. Outliers might lead to mis-interpretation of statistical analysis, and should be remove or truncate to create a sub--dataset of outliers to make further analysis on those abnormal cases.
This is why I proposed zentdex to use Mean +/- standard deviations, and Median (Interquartile range) in his analysis.

8569  Other / Meta / Re: Don't give me merit on: May 27, 2018, 02:34:06 PM
I am curious why the OP creator have not locked the topic several days after publishing it.
If the OP creator don't want to beg for merits, it is right time to lock the topic permanently.
8570  Other / Meta / Re: Merit is useless, only for those old members. Please remove merit system! on: May 27, 2018, 01:34:58 PM
No, such negatively thinkers should be ignored due to their wrong attitude.
I guess they have kept complaining all the time about merit system, even about 4 months after the launch day of merit system, mainly because they are not able to compose constructive threads, and lack of willingness to learn, improve, contribute to the forum.
They should not have chance to listen attentively by others in the forum because their threads are really annoying and don't show any attitude to change to right adaption.
Instead of complaining like this, those guys should use their time to search for helpful topics, learn from them, improve their knowledge and skills.
I don't agree with OP's opinion about this merit system but it is his opinion so he have the right to voice it out here no matter what the old members will say about his feeling.
8571  Other / Meta / Re: Change username! on: May 27, 2018, 02:31:48 AM
I'd like to request for a change of my forum account name.
~
I don't think that Theymos will activate new feature which allows users change their original account names. It (if implemented) might lead to serriously chaotic situation in the forum. It is too complicated to apply. The odds for the change is almost zero.

I am a miner and strong supporter of Pinkstar coin project, dev.
Therefore, I would like to propose you to make a LAST thread in the topic, which announces it will be the last one in the topic, and the topic will be closed permanently.
All future discussions should be (and have to - due to permanent lock) published in new topic of the project.
I simply imagine chaotic scenario when readers, supporters fall into traps between two topics.

Let's consider carefully about my ideas, dev.

Best wishes for Pinkstar coin project.
8573  Other / Meta / Re: 100 Days of Merit on: May 26, 2018, 10:09:40 AM
You,  Mr Cash, just proved that no matter on quality of posts giving of Merit is subjective decision, someone give Merit for informative posts and some just for support, just like in this current case.
Please stop call someone with prefix like Mr., Sir, gentleman, etc. It demonstrates that you tend to over-respecte someone you don't know. In addition, this sort of behavior is very common in beggars. After the launch of merit system, there are lots of merit beggars negatively fell into such stupid approach.
I mostly ignore threads which contains those words.
8574  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: May 26, 2018, 09:58:52 AM
So far I never received any merit  Sad

So much trash posts
To improve your post quality, you should have to do the following two essential tasks simultaneously or seperately:
1) Learning and sharpening your English skills, including reading and writing skills. Reading skills will help you to read English documents, articles, topics on crypto easier and more efficiently. You can not learn anything if you are not able to understand what others wrote. Writing skills will help you to express your ideas better, help readers easier to get your ideas and avoid serious misunderstandings.
2) Spending more time to learn about crypto knowledge and basic stuffs of the forum.
You will get nothing if you join the forum without basic knowledge on crypto ecosystem as well as basic structures, functions, useful features of the forum.

For instance:
You can find and learn a lot of things by yourself if you know how to use the forum function:
[Tips] Guide for forum search
Furthermore, you should keep following topics, threads of constructive, famous users in the forum, such as Jet Cash, TMAN, The Pharmacist, iasenko, nullius, hugeblack, zentdex, mdayonliner, etc.
You can learn lots of invaluable things from them, for free.

Best regards, mate.
8575  Other / Meta / Re: sMerit deadline on: May 22, 2018, 12:46:22 PM
Currently and in the past, Theymos stated that he have not had plans for automatically destroying unused sMerits.
Code:
There is no point in hoarding sMerit; keeping it yourself does not benefit you, and we reserve the right to decay unused sMerit in the future.
In addition, I don't see reasons to destroying sMerits. Each user has own right to do with his/ her sMerits.
Nevertheless, forum users should send their sMerits away to deserved threads as one of ways to stimulate others to become more constructive. The reason is they will feel satisfied when good threads which they spend time to compose got merits from others users as rewards for their good works.
This is one of basic original objectives of merit system, that Theymos also stated too.
Code:
I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by:
 - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc.
 - Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line.
Rubbish threads will never get merits.
8576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥[ANN] [BLOC] BLOC.MONEY - Exclusive, Fast, Anonymous, Egalitarian, Anti ASIC on: May 22, 2018, 11:37:04 AM
Dear BLOC community.

The BLOC wallet has been fixed for the following system OS:

MAC OS all versions
Only 64 bit versions Of Window 7/8/8.1/10

Linux coming shortly.
Thank you, dev.
However, after downloading Wallet for windows, 64 bit version, I can not open the wallet after double-clicking on BLOC file.
Please help me.

Notes:
Furthermore, I suggest to add more essential features, including status of miners and place to check payment history of miner.
I also guess that there are something wrong with tool for Estimating Mining Profits

For statistical presentation,
With quantitative variables, in the case of your topic, merit points; those sort of variables should be presented in the following style:
Average +/- standard deviation; and Median (Interquartile range).
Average and Median are not enough, and might lead to misinterpretation on real distribution of merit variable.
Median and Interquartile range are essential statistics for non-normal distribution variables.
You choose right statistics to desribe your variables, zentdex.

For your interest, I also give you link to helpful statistical guides from laerd:
Measures of central tendency

Mean, median, and mode should be used correctly with related supplemental statistics for central descriptions.

Hope it helps, zentdex.

8579  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How hard to Get MERITS?? on: May 22, 2018, 02:07:33 AM
I have heard that is is very hard for people to rank up in here. How true is this?
Shitposters will never rank up with merit system and new rank requirements, believe me. Those sort of shitty users will only rank up if they abuse the system through merit exchanges, merit business, etc. Abusing like this will put their accounts under high risk of punishments (such as red tags, bans, etc.).

For your interest, you should improve yourself first to become a constructive user in the forum.
You should also follow 'famous' users, who ranked up after the launch of  merit system and learn from them (iasenko, zentdex, hugeblack, nullius, alias, slient26, etc.).

Best regards,
8580  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Change color.... on: May 22, 2018, 02:04:14 AM
Color will make your text more beautiful but do not overdo it will make the reader uncomfortable and sore eyes.
~
Thank you very much for the source of different beautiful colors, mate.
However, as you emphasized in the OP, users should not overuse the effects because it can make readers feel a litle bit annoying.
In my stance, this one is only (or mainly) helpful in designing signature with BBcodes.
Anyway, highly appreciate your time to do it because it shown your dedication to contribute to the forum.
