This could confuse people, like, "Is this the official bitcoin forum?".

Why this switch?
I think they didn't want the forums to become a symbol of what Bitcoin is.

Hey mods, maybe lock this thread since there is a dedicated topic stickied above?
I forgot this was my thread. xD

Discussion moved to sticky topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=34517.0

It is signed on mybitcoin.com
After I replied, I didn't know mybitcoin.com was back up.
I was looking at another thread when I saw it.

From the desk of Tom Williams, operator of MyBitcoin.com

For immediate release.

As you have probably noticed, MyBitcoin.com had been down for almost a week due to an unfortunate event.

On Friday of last week we noticed that one of our pooled holding servers was missing a large amount of Bitcoins. After a prompt investigation we realized that the security of our SCI (Shopping Cart Interface) system had been breached by an unknown attacker.

Our response was rash, but necessary. We simply switched the system off until we could have system-wide forensics performed. The forensics took some time, as the system is quite complex by nature.

After weighing all of our options, we have realized that we have no option but to go into receivership. We will settle all accounts with a online claim process that we are currently in the process of working out.

We will release more detailed information about the security breach, the claim process, and our balance sheet in the next few days.

Tom Williams
Still not signed?

Yeah, all us paid people got this stupid hat that looks like we are Archaeologists. >.>

[Edit]:
To the people who want to buy games over $20 (for right now) there is a 20% fee.
Since the market is like shit (under $11 per 1 BTC), I don't feel like selling my BTC for USD.
Once it goes past 11.5 (maybe even $12) I'll end up selling to put more money in my bank.

1409  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What's did mybitcoin walk away with? on: August 04, 2011, 11:05:04 PM
Wait, so what's the verdict?  Was Mybitcoin's wallet.dat file simply lost by Amazon, or did the guy actually skip town with the loot?
Still unknown.

1413  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [NR 1]: Triplemining.com || 1 BTC(or more) jackpot every week on: August 04, 2011, 07:56:04 PM
hey, im new to triplemining and have a few questions.

can multiple cpus mine with just 1 worker?

lets say i have 4 cpus mining and i only have 1 worker, and all of the cpus are connected to that 1 worker. does that work?

Yes, you can mine with just one worker.
It would be better to use 4 separate miners, but either way is fine.

[PS]: I am not responsible for any loss of shares you may encounter due to using one worker.
1414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MyBitcoin.com, where did it go? on: August 04, 2011, 02:26:27 PM
That's too bad...

I was really hoping someone would try to do something.  I was on your side.
Are you talking about UABB trying to do something?

Selling a build + source code is one thing.
Publicly releasing the source code for donations might get you in trouble.
1417  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LinuxCoin A lightweight Debian based OS with everything ready to go. on: August 04, 2011, 09:13:26 AM
I've got my mirror setup with LIVE* checksums.

Download: http://mirrors.tgservers.com/linuxcoin.co.uk/linuxcoin-v0.2-final.iso
Checksum: http://mirrors.tgservers.com/linuxcoin.co.uk/linuxcoin-v0.2-final.iso.checksum.php

*Meaning, it checks the file every time you load the page for any changes.

Wouldn't you want to post the Checksums of the valid ISO, and then once downloaded compare what you downloaded to the real checksums?
I don't understand what you mean.
You can view the checksums of the files right before you download to verify (in-case over the course of a week/month/year they were to get corrupted some how).
After you download, you are more than welcome to re-verify.

[Edit]:
I think I understand what you mean.
Use the official MD5/SHA1 and check my MD5/SHA1's and see if they match before download?

[Edit2]:
Okay, I've fixed the page so it verifies.
http://mirrors.tgservers.com/linuxcoin.co.uk/linuxcoin-v0.2-final.iso.checksum.php
If drgr33n wouldn't mind pushing the MD5/SHA1 via JSON, I would be more than happy to do live verification from his site on mine.
1418  Other / Meta / Re: Tapatalk on this Forum on: August 03, 2011, 07:08:49 PM
I may be in the minority here, but I find it painfully annoying when I visit a forum from my mobile device and get the intrusive "This forum is iPhone native! Click OK to find out about Tapatalk!"

If you were to disable the pop-up, then +1...

I think the idea is nice, but their implementation is flawed...
I'm fairly sure it can be modified.
Although with SMF, I'm not going to say that too loud.

I'm not really interested in a "keylogger" as much as what language "hackers" are coding them in now-a-days.
So, what language is yours in?
