How do you prevent multiple requests by one person?

It is quite difficult task. If you cannot do this most probably your service will go bankrupt after few days.
I spent about a month to write a heuristic statistical analyzer that detects fraudulent behavior and it already rejected thousands suspicious requests on my site, but even so it doesn't give 100% probability. Checking e-mail and IP is not enough definitely.

Technical savvy user can easily cheat you by registering many emails and requesting ticket via proxy or TOR node, diluting winning chance of legitimate users.

It's ran by ads, so the more hits the better.
They actually pay monthly..lol
Just re-read your first post.
I'll drop you a PM Smiley
Need to get my site out there a bit.

I made it that it ends after 1 week of inactivity..
So, it's 1 month or 1 week of inactivity?
1 week of inactivity..unless that's bad. I'm open to ideas
I like the 1 week of inactivity better than it closing after one month.
7 days brings the original Double Trouble idea back.

Fast delivery game received excellent service will be using many more times in the future.
Glad you enjoyed it! Cheesy

-Thought-
I will make plans and start working on a simple site for selling games.
To buy a game, you enter:
-Your steam email
-Your forum username
-Your game ID [future update: and it will grab the price]
-Current Game Price*

You hit "next", it will give you a BTC Address to send the payment to.
I would recommend you send the payment ONLY after I get online to verify the payment (as well as buy the game for you).

*If the game price will change before you think I will be online, please make a mental note before paying.
1486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitbills used mybitcoin - grrrrr. on: August 01, 2011, 08:54:58 PM
We did use mybitcoin for payment processing, and only payment processing. Fortunately, we withdraw most transactions almost immediately, so we had only a trivial balance on mybitcoin when they closed up shop.

Orders have been paused while we setup our own, in-house payment processing. We realize this is the safest solution moving forward.

All orders will ship out as expected. Orders for just Bitbills are still generally shipping within 3 days. Orders with bank cards included are backlogged slightly as we scale production, but should be shipping out by Friday.

Please email us if you have any questions about your individual order, and feel free to post any general questions in this thread!
Any thought in making a dynamic card (like a Debit Card)?

For me to put in up to 10BTC, the game would have to last about a month or longer.
With daily sub-jackpots or something.
1488  Economy / Goods / Re: Steams Games as Gifts on: August 01, 2011, 08:43:16 PM
why are you using the same address for all payments
I was wondering how I could tell who sent what when.
Transactions happen so fast, I'm don't think I'll be getting payments mixed up.

Just make a new key each time. This is how bitcoin was designed. 1 key per transaction
If you check out some other threads, people talk about having too many addresses clogs up something.
Anyways, I don't mind keeping one address.
PM confirmations seems to work out very well.

Someone had also made a suggestion about setting up a website for this. Although it wont be automatic, at least transactions can be saved and easier to manage.

Do you sell Team Fortress 2 keys by any chance?

tf2 is free and he does not sell game keys if you read the topic you pick a game and send him the link for it with your email and pay him and then he gifts the game to your email.
I was sitting at lunch without my forum Login information on my iPhone, and was wondering if this was a joke. xD

Pm sent for game purchase. this is the best looking steam for BTC thread out there.
Thank you Cheesy

[USD Edit]:
I ended up buying like $25 worth of gas, so yea... lol
I'll wait till I've got about 5BTC and I'll throw some on my Dwolla->Bank and walla "USD on Hand" Tongue
1489  Economy / Goods / Re: NothinG's Gifts [Selling MOST Steam Games] on: August 01, 2011, 09:48:05 AM
Also, if anyone think's that there payment might get mixed up and not count...you can add any size sub-price you want (almost like a salt).
So, if the game cost 0.4 BTC, you can add say 0.0000321BTC (Total: 0.4000321BTC) allowing you to add in your PM what price you paid.
This actually won't hurt you, and may help in the process of disputes.

{PS}: I should have made this thread when Steam had their Summer Sale going on.
1490  Economy / Goods / Re: NothinG's Gifts [Selling MOST Steam Games] on: August 01, 2011, 09:42:32 AM
sent a pm for the game on sell right now for 5 bucks with the coins sent to your address.
You caught me just in time.
I was about to fall asleep.

I was actually going to wait until tomorrow, but seeing as the game's promo was only for another 7 hours...I couldn't leave it alone.
Enjoy your game!

Buying games with BTC, This is more than perfect  Grin

I wish you best luck, sir.
Thank you! Cheesy
1491  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: buying BTC over market price, AlertPay only, confirmed honest trader on: August 01, 2011, 09:13:33 AM
I would be very interested in this as I just recently verified my AlertPay.
Unfortunately I only have 3.9BTC (thanks to MyBitcoin).
1492  Economy / Gambling / Re: would you enter a high roller pyramid/ponzi? (Min:5.00 - Max: 10.00) on: August 01, 2011, 09:09:02 AM
Depending on the length of the game, possibly.
1493  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Frozenbyte Bundle (STEAM) - 0.75 BTC on: August 01, 2011, 08:57:06 AM
If I'm not mistaken, one could get the Bundle for $0.01

1. This is the bundle before the Humble Indie Bundle #3.
2. I paid $20 for this bundle so...
3. if someone paid 0.01 for a bundle he should be ashamed.
1) I was unaware that there were multiple bundles.
2) What percentages did you give to?
3) I don't plan the buy the bundle('s) as I am not very interested in indie games.

1) You post are fairly low on this forum for me to trust you.
2) How would we go about renting a rig?
1497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitbills used mybitcoin - grrrrr. on: August 01, 2011, 07:42:17 AM
Too bad Bitbills doesn't have a CreditCard-like card instead of throw-away cards. I was going to buy a few.
1498  Economy / Gambling / Re: New doman everybodyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy on: August 01, 2011, 07:40:54 AM
It seems they are trying to get https working properly.

I wonder why they didn't let anyone know they were changing domains?

I bet they got a new server / upgraded because the old server was slow even for http requests. If they had gone with https on the old server... well... there would be no tomorrow...
1) They still could have let everyone know that they were changing domains. Forums were loading fine prior to moving.
2) They can point sub-domains to a different IP. So, changing to a domain (even though it's not a bad idea) wouldn't be required to change servers.

1500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a magnet for hackers and crooks on: August 01, 2011, 07:32:53 AM
Because bitcoin is new, there are many reasons why people are trying to exploit it.
I wouldn't go around testing exploits on a sites that's been around for ~10-15 years (although PayPal did have a few exploits on the non-US site).
