Are you talking about the guy who lost 25k BTC in MyBitcoin?

Just to point out. He left the forums(offline) after I made this judgement call.
Personally MiddleMan. I do not trust you. It is too much of a coincidence to me.
If anyone has talked to him outside of the forums. Please make a backup of your wallets. As the site I believe he/she is from. Happens to be where one of the trojans that steals wallets comes from.
Your kidding right? What if I was one of the people who steals wallets? It wouldn't be hard to code up a PC scanner to detect wallet.dat file, upload it to some off-shore FTP service. Backing up your wallet.dat doesn't do anything if you didn't know someone took it. It's more of a race to see who sends the money to another wallet first.

And this is where I leave this conversation

The friends I know have scripts that use CPU and GPU. It's very advanced, if it can't find GPU it uses very little CPU (to prevent fan). It even detects nvidia!
It's come to the point were I think everybody will start Botnet Mining.
There was a huge flux of botnets that crowded BTC Guild when i first joined. It just drove up the difficulty. (inb4 people with interest drove up the difficulty).

But I'm still going to call this scam, since, well, that's what a Ponzi scheme is. Ponzi and Scam are two different words. Ponzi means someone else makes a little money, but in the end someone has to loose some money. Typical gambling there. Scam means someone (site owner or other) makes money, but in the end someone has to loose some money. The difference between a Scam and a Ponzi Scheme is the Scam doesn't warn you that you can loose all your money, or there is a possibility of the site owner making some slight changes in the percentages in fees to say "Double Dipping".

If you're talking about Zombie Mining: 1) It's sort of illegal. 2) You can only mine by CPU (unless you had code to detect the GPU) 3) They would notice their fans at high speed (or their graphics cards getting really hot) 4) The price you get wouldn't be worth it. Zombies only last a month at the most (even if you have high dollar encryption).

At least not until I get back from Defcon.
One. Nothing harder than hardstyle. Anyways, are you selling more envelopes?

Yup [Update]: Just bought a domain =D Hopefully the site will look up-to-par soon. Once I get the site to a presentable stage, I will let everyone know and this thread will be mainly for support.

If all these bitcoins stored on MyBitcoin are in fact gone, does the price of bitcoins go up due to a lowered supply, or down due to a lack of confidence infused into the market?
If the owner decides to trade the bitcoins over the public market, no doubt the market will move dramatically. [Edit]: Post 400 =D

4 hours is a long time!
I've got... Total time logged in: 4 days, 3 hours and 51 minutes. It's not that long. Wow, how did you manage to do that Now I'm at Total time logged in: 4 days, 7 hours and 45 minutes. Most of the time that I spend on the forum isn't even logged (when I'm in the other room lurking on my iPhone).

Seems mybitcoin.com isn't online.
I don't know about the rest of you, but my original theory that something has happened to the owner (could be lying in a hospital for all we know) is looking more plausible. Seems like your bitching and attacking other users was completely baseless. After reading your posts in this thread I really wouldn't pay much attention to anything you post now due to some poor reading comprehension skills and general assholier-than-thou attitude. Trust seems to be the biggest stumbling block for bitcoin is trust. I would never put too many bitcoins in any one place due to everything we've seen from MtGox, mybitcoin, wallet trojans, etc etc. We need some long established trusted financial corporation to get involved in bitcoin, and not trust website made by some random dude we know nothing about. If thousands of bitcoins are lost due to this one website, the community should be up in arms and attempting to help. I hope something is found out about the owner of this site. If you know of a country that has Legalized Bitcoins as a Currency, I'd agree with you. Unfortunately, there isn't any well-known established Financial Corporations that will put Bitcoins before USD (or other local currency).

I don't think people will make up a fake email just to have a chance at winning.. It's ran by ads, so the more hits the better. These hits are worthless, advertisers want that real people see their ads not bots or cheaters. Yeah, after I re-read the first post...it's people like me that pay for the ads. xD I figured it was someone like Google.

Simple and quick. I'll definitely use this again, if he's still around when I need to buy a game again.
As long as I still have a bank account, I'll be around. Do you sell Team Fortress 2 keys by any chance?
tf2 is free and he does not sell game keys if you read the topic you pick a game and send him the link for it with your email and pay him and then he gifts the game to your email. He probably means keys to the MannCo crates. I don't think I can gift those. If I'm not mistaken, I would have to gift money to his wallet (minimum $5), which I don't think I can do. [Edit]: Bought advertising @ http://www.btclottery.info/Don't forget to check them out and share with your friends. It's a free lottery =)
