1521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your first bitcoins came from.. (faucets aside) on: August 24, 2015, 11:00:23 AM
My first bitcoins came from Primedice signature campaign way back September 2014. From then on, I started to buy a little amount of btc every month and I have never failed to do so for the past 10 months.

How'd you get your first bitcoins (faucets aside) and what did you do to them?

I think from a site offering a promotion, I have them still i think Cheesy Before that i mostly got btc from faucets i was pretty new back then. Now i am providing some services for bitcoin and so far my journey has been great. i try to save some bitcoin every week now. I have been successful in doing this for about 6-8 weeks.
1522  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] OPEN SPOTS Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: August 24, 2015, 08:40:18 AM
I received my payment but there was no message from the bot like always. Are the messaging think over? Because  this time i didnot a get a message from the bot but i was paid.
1523  Economy / Lending / Re: NEED 0.07 BTC LOAN ( PRO LENDERS ONLY ) on: August 23, 2015, 05:46:35 PM
I think newbie jail should be implemented now as this is getting out of hand. This person is creating accounts trolling and spamming the forum, I think we should ban his ip or something for a while.

This is not good.
1524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase? on: August 22, 2015, 06:38:53 PM
So are you holding your bitcoins for future events such as halving or you more like to spend your bitcoins when you get it? I personally like to spend it for digital goods usually...

I am saving for a long term. around 30-40 years. Either it will make me a fortune or it will be worthless only time will tell. I try to save Few btc every week for the longer term, Just like bitcoin boomed it may do again and who knows may be in next 30-40 years 1 satoshi may equal $1 just like few years back you would get 5 bitcoins for a roll on faucet, May be we could tell our grand kids we used to get 800 Satoshis from a faucet and they would be like wow!

Just like someone who bought $500 worth of shares of apple 15 years ago are worth million. This could happen for bitcoin too.

And yes i do spend bitcoins for stuff, But as stated above i am more into long term, I did not know about bitcoin back then but i wont miss this time Wink
1525  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a 0.009 loan, no collateral on: August 22, 2015, 03:04:13 PM

It's amazing how someone makes a joke and everyone takes him seriously.

No one took his seriously you are just assuming that, We all know he was trolling, Not a single billionaire would be stupid to make a post about this. BTW nice way to boost signature campaign post's   Wink
1527  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Price check of accounts on: August 22, 2015, 10:42:06 AM
Accounts's price depends on many factors like their rank, potential activity, trust rating etc
a senior account without trust is not equal to sr account with green trust score

Yup its a simple thing we all know around bitcointalk, The more green you have the higher the value you will have, I saw dev giving 1.5 btc loan to a hero member with green on it so yes trust also plays the part, I have said that in my loan thread.
1528  Economy / Lending / Re: NEED 0.05 BTC LOAN FOR PRO LENDERS on: August 22, 2015, 10:18:17 AM
Pro lenders plese help me need0.05 btc loan
i can repay 0.07 btc 3 day
address:19L34XawfXtgdf9PoaoNz9UaPCptWAY7aB
reason is need for emergency for pro lenders!

whenever i see a loan request like this i know "the pro lender" is just a few minutes away and will post his signature "i will send you monies"

Cant we ban this user already? Block his ip or something, The spam he has created is huge almost every single day a new account pops up,

This is bad for bitcoin community, He should be banned for atleast few months.
1529  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Price check of accounts on: August 22, 2015, 10:13:01 AM
The accounts go for these ranges:-
1) Jr. member- 0.004-0.01
2) Member - 0.01- 0.03
3)Full member - 0.06-0.12
4) Sr. member - 0.18- 0.3
(Some extra info FYI)
5) Hero member- 0.4- 0.7
6) Legendary- 1+

Thanks for the update, I needed to know it for my loan thread, as many people use account as collateral so wanted to know that. but i think senior account now goes around 0.12-0.25 Range
And full member around 0.04-0.10.

But as you said it was a range and properly the price cant be calculated, Thanks You have helped alot Smiley
Yeah my lower estimate of these accounts were a bit off, the higher estimates go only for accounts with either high quality posts or higher activity than normal, like a full member nearly turning Sr. member and so on.
P.S: Just FYI you should accept account collateral loans only if they are 150% worth of the loan you are giving.

Point noted and yes i was thinking like this, the amount approx the member can request according to what his account is worth.

I wanted to know the worth of these accounts at average how much do these sell for?

jr account
member
full member
Sr. account

jr account = 0.005-0.008BTC
member = 0.01-0.015BTC
full member = 0.04-0.1BTC
Sr. account= 0.12-0.25BTC

based from what i regularly see in the digital goods section

Omg you just stole my words what i was thinking Cheesy the ranges for full member and sr. member, Weird  Grin
its very seldom that someone will sell a full member at 0.04BTC but I saw one in auctions who won a full member account at 0.04BTC

Yup i had that in mind.

From the desk of John Fitzpatrick,

My name's John Fitzpatrick from Portland, OR. Maybe you've heard of me. Maybe not. Doesn't matter. I wish to purchase this forum. Who's the Cheesehead that I need to talk to to consummate the deal? I'm willing to pay upwards to a hundred billion dollars for it.

Thank you in advance,

John Fitzpatrick.

Theymos is in charge of the forum but i dont think this is for sale even if you provide a trillion dollars for it Tongue

It was given by a unknown man/women to an unknown man/women Tongue

Not theymos is not really unknown. His real name had been mentioned here several times. Also on reddit as far as I know.
So only Satoshi is still not known who he/she/they is/are.

oh thats new i thought theymos was also the unknown person here, I will look in to it, But as far i read satoshi trusted theymos he must know him personally or something.

u stupid person
I work undercover for the CIA.
I lost contact with them as my electronic equipment is broken due to a NEMP being triggered at the top secret location I am in.
I am in big trouble, and your help is vital to my survival.
If you give me 1 btc you will be honoured with the Presidential Medal of Freedom
You will receive an invitation to the White House as soon as you send the payment and if you are a good kid,
you will be awarded with $10000 worth of FREE chocolate plus the NSA will not be spying on you for one year.

Thank you.

Lol, I couldnt stop laughing after reading this Cheesy, I give you a salute sir! You lost your electronic equipment still u have access to the internet XD

One of the best trolling i have seen Cheesy
1537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's over. Whew! on: August 22, 2015, 06:25:05 AM
OK - so that thing about blocksize is now over.  XT nodes leveled off and are now starting to actually go down.  High of 891 and now down to 870.  All they got was 800 and some change.  Not even 1/6 of the network.

Very poor showing.

Let's all get back to work now.

870 Nodes / 13,9 % in just 7 days - pretty impressive in my view Smiley

let us see what will happen when transaction costs will rise to 0.30 , 0.60 , 0.90 USD per transaction  Wink

if the transaction fees rises to that amount i think i wont be using bitcoin anymore for small transactions. This is what makes bitcoin great low or now fees at all
