1461  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~2500 Gh/s Mining Pool] HTTPS,API, instant payouts,LP,+1% for NO INVALID BLOCKS on: June 13, 2011, 07:16:14 AM
Can this thread be split, keeping things like tech support, conspiracy theories etc separated from official announcements and such please?
1462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blind Bitcoin Transfers on: June 07, 2011, 10:38:52 PM
@TiagoTiago: Do you have a link to a discussion on how to best anonymize bitcoins? I've been sending all the bitcoins in my service to a single address (address, not account) from where they are eventually sent out when they are needed. I assumed that this was the "correct" way to do it because the address is the finest granularity one could observe. Thanks!

There was some discussion on the topic in that thread about Bitcoin safety for illegal trading and stuff for example, i think i was called somthing along the lines of "how safe is Bitcoin for illegal busyness" or somthing, not sure exactly; lemme know if you can't find it on the forum and i'll see if i find it in my inbox (been following that discussion)
1463  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Power Outage? on: June 07, 2011, 10:34:47 PM
Sllightly offtopic, how bad an idea would be to set a few weaker UPS in series instead of using just a big one?
1464  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bounty for translations of the Bitcoin article in Wikipedia [upto 23 BTC] on: June 07, 2011, 10:28:47 PM
...

What is the point of holding the translation ransom?

I'm crossing my fingers someone else publishes a translation first and gets the money
I don't understand what this means.  According to this post and the blockchain, your bounty was paid out to 1FmvtS66LFh6ycrXDwKRQTexGJw4UWiqDX .  As far as the others, I am still waiting for them to be reviewed by speakers of those languages before I can award bounties, and launch the new thread/formula with a correct balance (if any).  Work on this has slowed because I'm not on the forums much right now.

It was a response to the guy that is not publishing the translation until he gets paid.
1465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Calculating the BTC/USD Exchange Rate on: June 07, 2011, 10:12:08 PM
I would like to learn the pros and cons of each as well
1466  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: tried it all ... wasted 4 days to get 0.0001 BTC what am I doing wrong? on: June 07, 2011, 09:57:08 PM
I just don't get it and must be doing something wrong.  Huh

... do I really have to get out there and spend thousands of real life bills for bad ass graphic cards and CPU's to get some virtual currency coins? Exchanging real money into BTC's just feels stupid and boring. Would like to know the "real way".  Roll Eyes

Just a note; actually you don't need a highend CPU and mobo, pretty much anything that can handle a good mining videocard will do.

What about Caymans?
1468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does the Bitcoin Collapse Start? on: June 07, 2011, 02:45:29 AM
I have great faith in the resilience of Bitcoin, and for the sake of my little hoard hope others do too
1469  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Power Outage? on: June 07, 2011, 02:07:01 AM
Perhaps acquiring an UPS for your rigs would be profitable in the long term, keeping them mining while you go rearm the breaker?
1470  Economy / Marketplace / Re: REWARD: 5 BTC for the identity of b4rrydoyle on BitcoinMarket on: June 07, 2011, 02:06:29 AM
You should also tell us his Bitcoin address, perhaps that info could be correlated with stuff found on the web, or by analyzing the block chain
1471  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Dealing with scammers on BitcoinMarket on: June 07, 2011, 02:03:07 AM
When dealing with someone of unknown reputation, i would start with a small value, then if that goes well, double, rinse&repeat 'tll you bought/sold all you wanted
1472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Friend wants to accept Bitcoins for staying in his hostel - how? on: June 07, 2011, 02:00:02 AM
How about offering free WiFi near the reception and letting people pay as they arrive?
1473  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What will happen when I mine a Block? on: June 07, 2011, 01:52:43 AM
There is a calculator somewhere for that, you input your hashrate and the current difficulty and it tells you when you will get block for sure, when you got 50% chance of winning and i think a few other points.

I'm not sure where, perhaps you can find it on the wiki? If not, try Google
1474  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Bitcoin e SilkRoad são notícia on: June 07, 2011, 01:45:17 AM

1475  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining for rent on: June 07, 2011, 01:38:37 AM
Do you pay for the electricity? You need to take in consideration how many watts you use for each hash/s and see how much the power company charges per watt.
1476  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: "Differentiate Protocol version from client version" - denied? on: June 07, 2011, 01:20:51 AM
I guess this is kinda on-topic: http://dwellonit.taterunino.net/2011/05/19/reference-implementations/
1477  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitshine: GPU powered still for fuel/booze? (Just a wierd idea) on: June 07, 2011, 01:17:53 AM
I once read this thing where this guy told about his first experience minning, next morning after setting the rigs up he fried an egg in the computer case, literally
1478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bwtween 17-18 dollars the last several days on: June 07, 2011, 01:16:01 AM
It would be fun if it dropped to just one buck for a few days before jumping up again
1479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Billboard! on: June 07, 2011, 12:58:47 AM
Awesome
1480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blind Bitcoin Transfers on: June 07, 2011, 12:30:59 AM
I hope this time the tumbler implementation gets the approval of the people that understand the stuff, from what i've read previous attempts had severe flaws that made them not all that helpful with anonnymizing coins
