I'll repeat what i suggested in a similar thread: engrave it in a titanium plate and replace a chunk of your skull

1343  Economy / Economics / How does the risk/reward ratio of Bitcoin compare to other investments? on: June 22, 2011, 07:52:27 PM
Somtimes i get the feel that Bitcoin somehow seems to be less risky for the rewards you're likely to reap than plenty other legit investments out there (it pays lots more with a much smaller chance you'll loose money), at least in the long term (like starting with a few months). Is that impression mistaken?  How does Bitcoin compare to other investment opportunities out there in terms of the risk/reward ratio, and in terms of risks alone and profit margin alone?

ps:i'm talking about buying BTC with fiat money, or asking BTC as payment for services and products instead of govt money; i think mining would need to be evaluated on top of the evaluation of just investing in BTC
1344  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your opinion about piramids like Double Trouble on: June 22, 2011, 07:35:37 PM
As long as they are clear on how it works and the risks involved, i don't mind them; though i guess forbidding such games would be like childproofing a stove, an attempt to keep people that don't know better safe from getting harmed with somthing obviously dangerous
1345  Other / Off-topic / Re: Wtf... on: June 22, 2011, 07:26:34 PM
Where there are humans, there will be porn

So saying "religious zealot" is redundant?
1348  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Should there be Three Laws of Bitcoin? on: June 22, 2011, 04:20:35 AM
Btw, what if someone gets rich, and then lives the rest of their lifes spending a small fraction of their fortunes per month; i would be seriously pissed if after 20 years suddenly my fortune got claimed back to the ether leaving me pennyless...
1349  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Would some nice gentleman send me a tiny amount so I can check my client works? on: June 22, 2011, 04:16:45 AM
Btw, people seriously believing she is a dude; have you considered asking her for a pic via PM/email/whatever? There is chance you could get some free porn...unless of course you guys rather picture Sam as a dude....
1350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hur hur hur... Hope none of you used Dropbox to store your wallet! on: June 22, 2011, 03:37:17 AM
Just keep somthing most people would think would be an embarrassing secret, like "jailbait" bondage twincest gay porn for example, inside one of the deeper levels; somthing that would be plausible that you would wanna hide strongly but that wouldn't really get you in jail; i would expect that would help reduce quite a bit the odds they would suspect you got somthing else hiding there
1351  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Would some nice gentleman send me a tiny amount so I can check my client works? on: June 22, 2011, 03:24:26 AM
Peeps, please don't go hard on her (pun not intended), it was me that started with the talk about naughty pics

In my defense, i wasn't aware of it being an issue (even if at one point in the past i could have been, by the time i posted my joke/suggestion it was completly off my mind; but i honestly don't remember knowing of such prohibition here), i apologize for my careless behavior, and i sure hope i didn't get anyone in trouble...

Nuclear Energy. Do you want more or less?

1 - Can be easily abused to cripple people that got paid honestly

2 - What happens if someone digs up their private keys 20 years from now and tries to spend their savings? I don't think the system should be coded to automaticly steal from people.

3 - It's open source, anyone is free to release clients that will allow for a bigger total number; if people using that variation outnumber people using clients that respect the original design the system will automaticly consider the new rules as the official rules.

Perhaps they got a hidden volume inside their hidden volume (as deep as you wanna go), now that hidden volumes are becoming a common practice having a decoy hidden volume can be healthy for the soles of your feet....

Áre you saying it was some sort of Robin Hood thing?
1356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making it public: I have moved the disputed 643.2771 BTC into an escrow account on: June 21, 2011, 09:25:24 PM
The 643.2771BTC I withdrew from Mt Gox before trading was halted has been used to question my motives. To try to prove my intentions, I have moved the entire balance to an escrow account at Clearcoin:

https://clearcoin.appspot.com/status/r_H5PyEWwb5wEa8RTbrMTY8k

I cannot retrieve them for a month now. The options are:

1) I press the release button and donate them to the Bitcoin Faucet

2) The FBI accepts "Kevin logged in within 15 minutes of the attacker" as enough evidence to arrest me and seize my wallet as evidence and/or I end up convicted and the FBI buys some new socks and night lights for the whole office with the balance.

3) One month from now, when things have calmed down and I am obviously not arrested, they'll be returned to me and hopefully by then we will have determined their rightful home.

It would be an incredible show of faith if Mt Gox would volunteer to do something similar, but I'm not making this demand off them.

Lemme see if i got this right:

With number one the money, stolen or otherwise, gets sent to charity.

With number two the money automaticly goes back to your wallet and whoever has access to it will have the choice of what to do with them

And with number 3, if all clears out, one month from now the money gets returned to the rightful owner whoever that is.

Is that it?
1357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Survey on: June 21, 2011, 09:23:16 PM
Use one of those free survey making/hosting sites; i don't feel like typing so many answers right now, clicking for most answers would be an acceptable compromise....
1358  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Sabatoge: "Losing" Bitcoins on: June 21, 2011, 08:59:43 PM
No nerve; i just don't think what you describe can harm Bitcoin and it's users in any way (except the part about stealing coins from people)
1359  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Sabatoge: "Losing" Bitcoins on: June 21, 2011, 08:54:12 PM
How is burning your own money an attack on the economy?
1360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin will visit the CIA on: June 21, 2011, 08:18:31 PM
The computer won't receive the transactions if it's not connected, the transaction will take place, but the computer will not have any info about it until it gets an updated copy of the blockchain.

Transactions don't actually go to any computer, they stay "in the cloud", individual computers just got a log of the transactions that took place (not necessarily an up-to-date log though), and the keys to make new transactions.
