2221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microsoft now accepts Bitcoin to buy Xbox games and Windows apps on: August 11, 2015, 07:12:43 PM

Discounts would easily do it but margins are usually too tight for that to be sustainable or offer a big enough discount for a casual user to bother. 1-3% isn't going to be enough.

I guess brighter minds than mine will come up with something.

One idea that I have heard and would be great is introducing satoshis as the digital currency in online games. Picture a massive RPG like WOW using satoshis instead of some fake ingame coin. When all those gamers learnt that they could buy real things with the money earned in games, it would be an advance.

To buy armor, better swords, magical items etc. they'll have to use satoshis. Doesn´t it sound good?

But this is easier said than done, and there is no direct benefit to the gaming company in implementing this.

2223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microsoft now accepts Bitcoin to buy Xbox games and Windows apps on: August 11, 2015, 01:58:04 AM
I think it is great the some big companies are starting to accept BTC. It raises awareness and gives the ecosystem more legitimacy.

However I don't believe that it is going to drive adoption. The average person needs a reason to use BTC. Why would someone pay with BTC when they can pay with a method that is just as easy and they have been using their whole life? Companies need to users a REASON to use BTC (reduce prices due to no credit card fees etc).

I agree that some discounts would drive the audience more, but for that to work, there should be a banner or something saying "save off 10% by using Bitcoin" or the like.

However, the simple fact that they are accepting it would probably make some people adopt it. That was the case for me, I got into bitcoin when I noticed that a paid traffic exchange that I used was accepting it. It was like, Bitcoin? what is this? then I researched and ended using it.

Same can happen with this (I hope)
2224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: My apology to Scrypt.cc confirmed no scam, restoring all stolen kh/s on: August 10, 2015, 10:11:13 PM
Another post for scrypt.cc? should not this be on the original scrypt.cc post?
2225  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Banned bitcoin on: August 10, 2015, 09:24:01 PM
Bitcoin owns his value to the users that agree that it is valued so. This is not illegal by any means, and do not think it could be banned.

2226  Other / Off-topic / Re: what you like best in Bitcoin ? on: August 10, 2015, 06:39:13 PM
For me the best is the possibility to earn some of it easily, although it is on small quantity (faucets i.e). That is much more than what you can do with regular money.
2227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt.CC | Scrypt Cloud Mining on: August 10, 2015, 05:38:32 PM
The End??? Cheesy

Looks like the end indeed. Rewards are not coming in right now, site is superslow, people selling 10 million khs right know...

But still it is somewhat puzzling that payments are being made  Huh
2228  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What happens to the BitLicense if everyone leaves NYC? on: August 10, 2015, 04:05:03 PM
Businesses that stay get a bigger share of the NY market, there are already some exchanges complying and some applying for the license.

Less businesses operating in NY more desirable the market gets, because there's less competition a there's the incentive to get the license.

Agree with that.

I think the most intelligent thing for businesses is to comply in New York, prompt a popup or something warning about it in NY, and staying the same in other places.

If we want Bitcoin to be adopted by many, I think that the common user would not care much if there is more data collected from their transactions. At least, I do not care much about it.
2229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LITECOIN and DASH on: August 09, 2015, 07:59:41 PM
i would like to know good wallet fr litecoin and dash as well as good exchangers in btc and faucets rotator or simply faucets that gives litecoin and dash and if from them i get just subdivisions of litecoin and dash?

You can register on cryptsy or yobit. They are trading sites, but have wallets to deposit litecoin and dashcoin. You can deposit them there and sell to bitcoin, all in one site.

Faucetbox.com has faucet list for dash and litecoin.

Shapeshift.io to exchange currency goes well and is very fast, but it has a less favorable exchange than the other trading sites.
2230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: August 08, 2015, 05:49:54 PM
And what about investing in suspicious sites? I mean those offering high rates for depositing your bitcoins .... it's risky, but perhaps diversifying and selling out before the crash, you can get some BTC.

What do you say? That is simply stupid. What is the sense in getting some BTC when your main investment vanishes on the way. You invest 10 Bitcoins, get some 0.001 BTC and when you are at 0.01BTC profit then your investment is gone. Thats how most bitcoin investments happen to end.

Well, not always.

I know right now of two sites that let you deposit, offer a 1.8-3.6% daily, and let you withdraw your deposits (with a fee though).

It is VERY RISKY I agree, but you can deposit, get earnings for say 5 days, and then withdraw your deposits. Even with a fee, you still earn some revenue from those days.

I have done it already, and in more than one site.

Of course, you can get caught with your money in when the site collapses. Of course it is risky. But you are assuming your main investment "vanish" that is simply not true of all sites. And that is what I am referring too. It is not just blindly putting a large sum in one of those sites. You do your research: Does this site allow to get back my investment? What are the fees? How many days is my money "on risk" with the actual ROI? What is the minimum investment?

You do not even have to risk that much. Most of those sites I use, I have tried them before with small amounts (100.000 or even 10.000 satoshis). The interest is so high in some, that with 5-7 days of fauceting or posting in zapchain and investing those earnings, you are getting 3 or 4 cents in satoshis while the site stands. Sum some sites like that and well... you wont get rich, but it is better than just a simple fauceting strategy.

I do not mean to get 5 BTC and investing blindly on a random site, but a different approach. Although I agree it is still risky.
2231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OK. I am making this my long-term goal. on: August 08, 2015, 05:24:43 PM
The power is in micropayments.

For example for website owners who offer good content. 7000 daily unique visits only are worth 2-5 $ daily with traditional ads. But, what if half of those visitors tipped or paid say, 2000 satoshis for reading the content (which is quite reasonable). The earnings would be almost tripled at the current bitcoin price. The thing is for people to adopt bitcoin, and make tipping as simple as a facebook like. Changetip does about that, but people still have to fund their account buying bits, so is not all that useful.

Many small bits make for a great funding. Bitcoin allows that. Traditional money does not do that quite well. You cannot easily pay a cent or fractions or a cent to support the author or project you want.
2232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Earn bitcoin by sharing your bandwidth on: August 08, 2015, 05:06:33 PM
I like the idea a lot. I have always though that we people use too many wifis (and pay for them) when we could just share and pay less.

However, there could be security issues with this too, perhaps hackers doing their thing with that bandwith...
2233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Money is Now An Image on: August 07, 2015, 05:48:13 PM
I think "trustless" is not a valid term to use. The word trustless implies no trust at all, when we are trusting the network itself, we are are trusting the network will not screw us over like centralization does. Sure it's a bit picky of an observation but i think there's something that isn't 100% accurate about what the word trustless really tries to convey in this context.

This is true. We are in fact trusting the network 100% not to go belly up. (or 51% attack)

Well, I do not trust the network that much, mayb a 60%. I do think that Bitcoin is trustless as there will be none coming to the rescue if people lose tons of money with it.

This is risky, and it is owning to this risk that there is so much opportunity, high interests, high trading opportunities, getting money virtually from nowhere (mining) etc.

2234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: #EarnBitcoin on: August 07, 2015, 05:32:13 PM
I think that to get big companies to consider bitcoin, we should use it more.

Many people only use it as a stock/inversion/way to earn "real" money, or to do/receive small tipping here and there, then exchanging it for money.

More bitcoin selling/buying is needed I think.
2235  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What wallet should i use? on: August 06, 2015, 09:44:43 PM
If you plan to exchange fiat for Bitcoin and do not want to overcomplicate, a verified coinbase wallet goes great. You can exchange your bitcoins for money and viceversa inside it.
2236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is wealth boring? on: August 06, 2015, 08:44:01 PM
Wealth has its own problems, it is not too boring if you put your wealth to the move (taking care of businesses, attending petitions from family, thinking on investing opportunities or charities)

And you can always give a great percentage away and have the standard pressures  Grin
2237  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Browser You Use on: August 06, 2015, 02:41:12 PM
Chrome. I value speed first above privacy or plugins, so this is my choice. I used Firefox a lot at some time, but it became rather slow comparing to chrome. But that was years ago, I do not know if firefox has got faster right now...

2238  Other / Off-topic / Do you weight or bodyweight train? Rings? Kettlebells? Discuss on: August 06, 2015, 02:38:59 PM
Hello there Bitcoiners.

I have been into fitness for years, and have tried a lot of training and working out styles... bodypart split weight training, torso-leg splits, full body, Bodyweight/calisthenics, kettlebells, rings, indian clubs...

The one with more results for me has been a more traditional, full body weight training, 3 times a week.

Which training style do you use /prefer? Any comment in your training endeavours?

Fast & Furious 7

Enjoyable, pop-corn movie. Do not watch it if you do not like unrealistic action too much  Grin
