My first ones not from faucets were earned doing microjobs (bitcoinget)
Then some more from exchanging amazon giftcards in purse.io

I am from Europe and I do not see much Bitcoin movement ...
However, as long as you can easily exchange Bitcoin for fiat and then transfer to your bank online, you can use Bitcoin in any place.

Food would be great. Then Bitcoin would be the "food money" and any other fiat earned could go to luxuries and paying bills

Yes, investing is risky. You have to do your work, do your math. Do you weight in the possibility or losing your investment? Is the interest rate worth the risk? How many days it takes to get the investment back? etc.

Great post, and I agree with most of it, but most of all with the "Bitcoin earning opportunities" section. That is what got me into Bitcoin and what gets many people in. It has took me lots of research and effort to earn Bitcoins and still many of my earnings come from risky methods (high yield investments) and from regular paid ads put on my blog.
The microtask potential of Bitcoin (to pay fractions of a cent for doing small tasks) is underdeveloped.

I think they should be donated, but not sold. When money enters the equation, there always appear people to get it the criminal way. Also, getting crime out of the possibilites, the organs would go to those who have more money. It is not right, as something so valueble should be a gift. You cannot really pay for it.

Litecoin is a backup for bitcoin, as i view it.
If bitcon gets fucked by this blocksize debate, the most likely litecoin will take its place.
All merchants can easily integrate litecoin just like bitcoin, so the transition would be very fast.
Agree. Is a lifeboat. And a "second best" or several of them is a normal thing, and they use to survive to and even they get equal or surpass the first idea. Facebook - Google +, Coke - Pepsi, iOS - Android ... etc. Bitcoin will hardly survive alone. It is very likely that other alts would do it too, and litecoin is a very likely one.

Maybe by "confirm" he means "confirm that the transaction has reached several nodes on the Bitcoin network, and thus is in the pool of transactions to be included in a future block."
I think that you are right and he refers to just this. Usually, when I send coins to my coinbase wallet, the amount is shown as "pending" few seconds later, but of course, you cannot use that money until all required confirmations are done.

This is a way to earn without capital, but requires some work, and generally is not worth the time (a regular job will be better).
-Start doing faucets to get some small bits (faucetbox has lots of them)
-You can also do microjobs for bitcoin (bitcoinget)
-Meanwhile, keep posting and participating in this forum to get your member rank higher
-When you are a Jr. Member or Member you can apply for a signature campaign and earn some more bits by posting
-Once you have accumulated some satoshis, you can begin experimenting with trading. Bleutrade is a good exchange that lets you buy bleutrade shares, that pay some satoshis just for holding them.
As I say, all this is a (very) long proccess. But you will indeed get some Bitcoin.

The only thing attractive about gambling is the promise to earn very fast. The odds and math is always against the gambler, and you fall in mind traps kind of "if I have an strategy I will reduce risks and end up winning" then you earn slower, but finish losing if you continue gambling long term.

Would be great to have something like that but... How would it be done? perhaps you can count Bitcoin users in this forum with a post in which everyone said the state they are in?

It will survive, but it is rather bothering for those of us who depend on several small transactions everyday

3 BTC is not much for something that would last in your skin a lifetime and that would get your family angry. It is not worth it at all. I would not do it if I were you, not even for 30 BTC.

Yep, I can see some females in social media posting links, topics etc. about bitcoin and I've traded with a girl before( her cash to my bitcoins)
Yes I have seen them too. I think there are several girls involved in changetip for example, and recently saw another on services forum providing a new faucet. There is indeed girls using Bitcoin.

OP is right. There should not be all this fuss. Just raise the block and move on. As I understand it, blockstream could be also implemented on bigger blocks.

Stress test suck, they delay a lot of my working schedule, and it is not fair for small users. There might be a need to do one every year or so, but to have Bitcoin malfunctioning for days really does harm.

Now I have more than one at last! It is spread in several wallets, but finally I own more than 1/21,000,000 total bitcoins there will be.

Thanks for the info. Many tend to use several exchanges in order to get the best prices, and perhaps do not pay attention to every detail.
Warning received.

It is true that Bitcoin can die, even having now the popularity. Look at internet explorer or msn messenger ...
But I do not think so. It will renew if more features are needed, is not a static thing. For other altcoin to take over it, it should first be really really innovative. I know there is Ethereum and others, but still it is pretty much the same concept: a chain of bits that goes from a user to another.

High rise in the beginning, interest lost in the coin in few days. Perhaps a "celebrity coin" which changed the topic celebrity every few weeks would make interest remain ...
