I mainly use cryptopia exchange due to the fun chat that offers tipping for chatting. Also Bleutrade, as it is very agile (just right click and go to the different coin markets).
For BTC-EUR I use coinbase exchange for its ability to buy with fiat ASAP.

I have bought and sold bitcoins this month, but did not really pay for anything with Bitcoin. I feel most people are really Bitcoin investors, not Bitcoin users.

Exactly. Faucets are hard worf for low earnings. But it does sum up, and certainly they can provide something to trade with and learn a lot about trading.
Besides, I have heard people despise faucets and then the same people saying that Bitcoin will go to the moon and reach 1000$ or more. That is somewhat incoungruent. If you think Bitcoin is going to the moon and beyond, then what you earn from faucets are not really pennies, but much more in the future.
There were once faucets that gave full bitcoins back in the time. If people had said "It is not worth the time to do faucets" back then, they will not be millonaires right now.

I do not complain either, and not doing much. Well, I try to educate people on using exchanges, differences between Pow/Pos Coins, talking about Bitcoin services etc. But not doing much...

Has the draw ended already? I do not get where I have to insert my BTC address.

Hello, I currently have just over 2.5 btc. I bought one of the btc a few months ago at 240USD but s***ty VirWox fees made the price 300USD. I felt a bit down because the price was not going above 300USD until recently. So was it a good investment? So far I have invested 1292usd in bitcoin and have 2.6btc. I am thinking to buy some more now. But is it a good time? The price may go down after silk road's bitcoins are auctioned off.
I think it is not a bad investment at all. You can sell above 300 (which has happened recently) for some profit and even possibly rebuy lower. If you mean "long term" well, it is very likely that BTC gets over that price consistently, but nothing is 100% sure.

I think that is best mainly for the volume/adoption. To take advantage of trading you need ups and downs in which you can profit from selling/buying. When there is not much volume, there are not much ups and downs either.

There is no right way to trade on cryptos. Staying up 24 hours staring at the screen will help But all you need is to have the right timing then your gold. I totally disagree. Haven't done that since ages. It's a pure waste of time and you'll get mad very soon if you do that over a longer period of time. ^^ I have started planning my trades over a couple of weeks, a couple of months ago. Sold my last BTC at almost 500 (my average is lower, though) and now, I'm waiting to rebuy in the 250s. Then, wait for the next high, rinse and repeat. I'm actually doing the exact opposite of starting at the charts all day. And it brought me way more money than any sort of day trading. Patience is key. To stay within the topic: I'd definitely prefer to know the lowest buy price of each day, as this would enable me to sell at any time after I have bought. The other way around would probably achieve the same, but I'd feel more comfortable with the former one. I have only about 2 weeks experience on trading, but I have to agree with you. I started not taking much care about the exchange ups and downs, just put buy orders lower than the actual price and sell orders a certain amount higher and I did profit without "staring" much. Then I switched to enter the exchange much more frequently, watch the prices more etc.... and did profit also, but ended up with some BTC bought at a somewhat high price. More watchfulness is not always better.

Well OP advice turned out to be right. Value has gone down a lot, and would have been better to spend at the high point, taking advantage of that.

It is hard to know. But most people I meet seem to be optimistic with Bitcoin, and there is no big threat right now that may predict a big falling.
I would save a little part. Not all my life savings, but something. Just in case it multiplies greatly, you have some. If it fails, well it is hard for it to go to 0, and you will not lose all your savings.

I used localbitcoins once. Exchanged some BTC for 9$ paypal. No problem for me.

Thanks for putting this up. Very detailed info indeed.
Not only it is good for sharing with others, also to setup the faucets you actually visit.

Good effort compiling that faucet list. Also the layout is easy to navigate and quite visual.
What is the update frequency?

I am quite confused, with how does one gain from faucet site? while we will lose money because some people claim some bits in our faucets ?
Mainly from ads. In order to profit from creating a faucet, you must assure that if, say you pay 1000 satoshis in faucet claims, those people generate at least 1000 + X satoshis with their visit, being X your revenue. Ads, affiliate links to other faucets, etc. are your ways to get that profit.

Young people now will have to work longer. Fortunately, we can work through the internet, which is not very hard physically.
No fiat retirement account for me either, nor Bitcoin. Just earn a bit to live and try to save a little.

will keep an eye to see if someone gets it working recently...

Buy low and sell high is the first rule of trading.
But you can buy high and sell higher, or sell low and buy lower also.
By selling highest you get the advantage of selling with a profit even when you have bought also high. By buying real low, you get the profit of not having to sell at a certain margin. You can wait till profit goes really really high.
Lets say a genie gave you the ability either to sell at the daily maximum or to buy at the daily minimum. What will you choose?
|

I am not sure if many people would get into it, as you still need fiat to buy in many places and tends to be more convenient, but it is good to have the possibility and no doubt some enthusiast will grab it.
Go Bitcoin.
