1781  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] S19+ hashboard on: December 05, 2021, 08:09:02 PM
or if someone know who fixes these, in canada preferably or even in north America, please let me know
The following thread has a few options: Where to fix your Asic miners
Note: Most of them seem to be ignoring customers lately + DYOR before trying any of those services!

it says only find 40 asics shutting down board, anyway to get the miner to run the board with what it finds?
It would've been better if you also included its log while posting it on the "Mining support" board instead [you'll get better and more accurate answers from there].
- AFAICR, if it's not detecting some of the chips, it's not going to run [I haven't mined for a very long time, so there might be a workaround].
1782  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Designers(Signature,Avatar,etc) on: December 05, 2021, 05:12:22 PM
~Snipped~
Just stumbled upon your post on another thread and I wanted to inform you that I've stopped offering my designing services back in October [sorry, I should've mentioned its closure sooner (my bad)].
- Thank you for including a link to my thread, but kindly remove me from the list Smiley
1783  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Linzhi-inc.com review for scam - scam website - stay away on: December 05, 2021, 10:21:06 AM
In case they suddenly try to get rid of their tracks, here's the "archived" version!

can I take my money back from these liars?
Since it's an irreversible payment, the only way for you to get it back is to somehow intercept their activities [e.g. with the help of third-party providers and exchanges] while they're using a centralized exchange to convert it [I highly doubt they'd be using such services for obvious reasons]!

Here you can find some of the third-party providers:
Note: AFAIK, most of them aren't providing their services to individuals, but they might come in handy + I prefer to not vouch for their services [DYOR].

I prefer to meet them in person if somebody from you can track them..
I wouldn't recommend doing that, even if you knew their exact location [let the authorities handle it instead].

1784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Community is Lit on: December 04, 2021, 05:32:00 PM
The crypto community gave him solid replies which proves that the crypto community is growing stronger than ever.
Despite finding an "inactive Twitter account" that might belong to Munger, I agree with what @hatshepsut93 said about those responses being meaningless!
- Having said that, I did enjoy reading a few of them.

Believe me, the people who are creating cryptocurrencies are not thinking about the customer, they are thinking about themselves [...]
Says the man who judges the whole community by what the majority are [it's not fair to those that belong to a different category]! It would've made more sense if he referred to those cryptocurrencies as "shitcoins" instead!
- This may sound silly, but I never thought a 97-year-old guy could/would have ulterior motives, by generalizing cryptocurrencies [I have a strong feeling that, this is nothing but a way to defame BTCitcoin]!
1785  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor one not supporting EIP 1559 ? on: December 04, 2021, 01:54:44 PM
Where is the problem? Why are they too late ?

Trezor one is their first model and they betray it why they do that ?
When they added support for model T, they did mention the need to "port model T's firmware to model One" and based on the following link [Support EIP-1559 in legacy], they're going to introduce it when the EIP1559 support for Suite is also ready!
- I couldn't spot it on the "roadmap [unfortunately, there's still no ETA]".
1786  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Report - PremiumCryptoMiners.com / Premium Commerce Solutions LLC on: December 04, 2021, 11:19:53 AM
On first review, things passed my checks. I checked the person saying they worked with the company, the company said they did. I checked for scam reports, there were none. I checked the company registration details, they came up legit.
A couple of notes:

  • Never rely on the latter part!
  • You should've checked the basic things first [e.g. duplicated images, plagiarized content and etc...]:

What's happened since is it's been reported to the police, but as it's outside of the EU so they can't do anything about it.
~Snipped~
I want to make sure that anyone who is looking at buying from this fake website has a chance to see a scam alert about them, and avoid giving them even more.
I'd suggest updating/editing your post with screenshots of the emails they've sent you, then report them to their registrar:

1787  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Sale of crypto application (ecoinia) on: December 04, 2021, 09:31:02 AM
After purchase you will become an upright owner of Ecoinia brand, current source code, as well as future, unreleased development.
Am I correct in assuming that you're still going to maintain it on behalf of the new owner or it's just limited to a few unreleased features?

p.s. Or help please find places where I can sell my application.
Judging by its screenshots, it doesn't look like you've monetized it, so it'd be a bit harder to find a potential buyer but the following links might come in handy:

Note: Watch out for scammers and DYOR.
1788  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why I wouldn't buy Ledger Nano S ever again? on: December 03, 2021, 03:26:55 PM
their developers have multiple jobs so they are also reddit moderators  Cheesy
For real [I didn't know that]? Cheesy

Maybe this is their way to stop production of nano s device and force everyone to switch to nano x or some other new device they release.
They can always blame small memory etc.
Before my last update, my Nano S had Bitcoin, Ethereum, Fido U2F and 10k free space. After updating firmware and apps I have only 6k free space. 4k can easily make the difference.
@dkbit98: That's a valid point and judging by NeuroticFish's comment and the rate that it has increased recently, I wouldn't be surprised to see them end its support in a year or two!
- Even though it's quite normal for tech companies to ditch their older products while replacing them with new/better products, the manner in which they seem to be doing it is unethical.

From what I understand, there are 51 contributors. With some patience and playing around with selection on the first chart, this can be found out.
https://github.com/LedgerHQ/ledger-live-desktop/graphs/contributors
Thank you for providing that link [hopefully, I'd be able to easily spot the differences] Smiley

But I think that it's irrelevant, since as you also said, the problem is most probably the (lack of) memory.
The one I mentioned it's a separate issue... From what I've understood, the Fido U2F app it's not showing up on the Ledger Live.
1789  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: cygan's Complete the Word Game and Get Merits 2.0 on: December 03, 2021, 02:00:41 PM
5.  _ _ _ _ p _ _ _  (1 word - 8 letters)
5. Flipping

It's a bit weird seeing that I no longer have to worry about your posts [with its updates/edits Cheesy], but regardless of that, I'm just guessing the remaining word for this round only Smiley
1790  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why I wouldn't buy Ledger Nano S ever again? on: December 03, 2021, 12:54:06 PM
Imagine you use Fido U2F on your ledger for some important log in, well you are screwed now, thanks to ledger dev team :/
That's really messed up! Is there a way to check and track if they've been using different developers lately [from their Github page]?
- I don't know my way around GitHub.

It appears that the memory issue that you've described before, took another hit [thanks to the latest firmware]:

1791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter and Square CEO Jack Dorsey running his own Bitcoin node on: December 03, 2021, 10:05:23 AM
Jack Dorsey has confirmed that he has left the post of head of Twitter.
~Snipped~
The following part from Jack's resignation letter/email reminds me of a certain someone Smiley
- I salute him for that!

this probably means that all devices they make will be renamed, including future hardware wallet.
I checked their website and everything is still in Square(s).
It appears that apart from the "Square Crypto to Spiral" change, everything else will remain the same:

The latest hard fork has also not helped and the network is still witnessing high fees
Based on my limited knowledge, it's not yet fully implemented [it'll happen at some point in 2022]; hence why it still has unreasonably high fees!
1792  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin, papalo ba sa $100k ?? on: December 03, 2021, 07:58:55 AM
Sinong naniniwala ang magiging $40k by end of December compared sa $100k?

Note: Alam ko na hindi kinocover ni glassnode lahat ng mga exchanges pero you can still see the whole picture.
1793  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: List of all Bitcoin addresses with a balance on: December 03, 2021, 04:48:20 AM
But even if you get such a list, it's going to be so long it's not going to help you.
You have a point, but since it's an address with a significant number of txs, I thought that might do the trick when it comes to tracking such addys [if there was a way].

Most transactions have multiple outputs, so whatever you're looking for, you'll have to narrow it down further.
Unfortunately, you're right Sad
1794  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: List of all Bitcoin addresses with a balance on: December 02, 2021, 07:22:14 PM
@LoyceV
Do you know a way to narrow down addresses based on either their tx numbers or the number of txs that seem to have a change address in them [e.g. 2 outputs], by any chance?
- I do know the latter part is a long shot, but I'm dealing with a case that has limited information while the other involved party is ignoring everybody [so far] + I became impatient [had no luck with Blockchair dumps].
1795  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-11-23] Regal Partners with Flexa to Enable Crypto Payments for Movies on: December 02, 2021, 09:08:43 AM
like AMC, Regal is using a 3rd party processor not doing it themselves.
Personally, I have no issue with using such things but they should've gone with a slightly different route instead [e.g. a payment gateway that doesn't require customers to use one of the few "flexa-enabled wallets" that has "certain limits, apart from verifying a few things"]!

  • As a result, Flexa currently enables you to spend up to $250 per account per week (across all merchants), after we receive and verify your full name, date of birth, email address, and the state or territory in which you reside.
On "this page", they've listed $750 as their weekly limit [not sure which one is correct].

  • As part of that process, we are legally required to compare your full name, date of birth, and state or territory of residence against lists provided by the Office of Foreign Assets Control ("OFAC"), the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and other government entities.

At Flexa, we believe in preserving your privacy to the greatest extent possible, which is why we encrypt all of your personal information as it is transmitted to our servers, and only retain that information for the minimum duration as required by the law.
I have a bad feeling about the highlighted part and they didn't explicitly mention how long is the "minimum duration"!

Still good that there is another big (ish) outlet to use BTC
You're right, but if I were in the US, I would've opted for a "gift card" instead [less risk].
1796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microstrategy Buy more Bitcoin on: December 01, 2021, 08:41:11 PM
The whales are taking advantage of the Bitcoin market and are buying the dip and Microstrategy one of the Bitcoin whales buys more than $414•4 million worth of bitcoin in addition to its present Bitcoin holding.
It's worth noting that MicroStrategy began accumulating those when the market was already on the rise [October 1, 2021] and just continued doing it like they always do [in other words, a part of their recent investments, coincided with the bear market that we've been experiencing lately]!

  • On November 29, 2021, MicroStrategy Incorporated (the “Company”) announced that during the fourth quarter of the Company’s fiscal year to date (the period between October 1, 2021 and November 29, 2021), the Company purchased approximately 7,002 bitcoins for approximately $414.4 million in cash, at an average price of approximately $59,187 per bitcoin, inclusive of fees and expenses.
1797  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan BTC issue - Titan not responding on: December 01, 2021, 01:02:43 PM
The private key is not brining in the address asociated with the coin when I add the private key into blockchain.com - this just resulted in an incorrect address showing up in my wallet with a 0 ballance
That's due to not having proper support for mini private keys... Despite what the following message says about "importing a compressed WIF [starting with K or L]", I was able to get to the correct address when I imported the uncompressed WIF [starting with 5] instead!

Note: It's not safe to use an online wallet for importing an address that has a significant amount + despite knowing some ways to convert that mini private key, I prefer to keep it as the last resort option [depending on how you do it and the current state of your device, it "might" not be safe]!

I have tried mycellium snd it also says that key is invalid, its 30 characters long - and I have tried numerous times now, I do believe this is a manufacturing error
Since you were able to import the same mini private key to blockchain.com's wallet, would you mind doing the same in electrum [it supports that format]?

I have to respectfully disagree...
1799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: School Students learning bitcoin basics in Slovakia.. on: November 30, 2021, 08:00:28 PM
It appears that they've given that book to "older students" as well.

  • While I was checking its price on Amazon, the following part caught my attention and I'm glad that more of these exist
    - Having more children's books (by different authors), would lead to less inaccurate information (if they read all of them).

The image unfortunately does not tell us if the book was used for promotional purposes within the classroom, whether this is a one-off or a regular presence in that school/more schools,
I just finished listening to its audiobook version and judging by how short it was [less than 16 minutes], I strongly believe it's the one I've bolded.
- I can't provide a link since I'm not sure if someone else, other than the author leaked it!

The only problem with it might be that it kind of implies that everything other than bitcoin and decentralization is bad...apart from gold.
After listening to the audiobook version, I've got that impression as well but in "this interview [skip to 5:12]", what the author said made slightly more sense.
Btw, there's something interesting on "4:20" of the above video Grin
1800  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It is a dumb question but I need your help :) on: November 30, 2021, 05:28:00 PM
Tor browser displayed like this on my laptop. That is weird to have too many plain space at the bottom. I did not get this issue on my desktop
~Snipped~
Have anyone know what is this issue? How is it called? Then how to fix it?
It's a privacy feature [Letterboxing] that adds those empty spaces... Your laptop probably has a smaller screen resolution, hence why it's more noticeable.

  • In the Tor Browser address bar, type in about:config and press enter
  • Search for privacy.resistFingerprinting.letterboxing
  • Set the option to False
  • Restart the browser for changes to take effect

Update:

My problem was similar to tranthidung's. and this information was very helpful. I had no idea that there was such a thing. Thanks a lot!
You're very welcome Smiley
