1801  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Salary paid in crypto. Best practices/services/low fees? on: November 30, 2021, 01:43:07 PM
I'd like to save part on BTC but will also need the money for normal spending in GBP.
In addition to the above comments, you can try "BitWage [I prefer to not vouch (DYOR)]".
Note: Most of the recent comments on their android app are 1 star, so I'm not sure if the quality of their services has downgraded lately or only their apps suck!

So far, I think that getting paid in fiat and buying BTC on an exchange is still cheaper.
That depends on what you'd be trying to do after! If you're planning to just keep it on an exchange, then it comes with a lot of risks ["not your keys, not your coins"], and if you're planning to withdraw it to a non-custodial wallet, then you have to deal with ridiculous withdrawal fees from some/most of the exchanges!
1802  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory stuck on Build Databases on: November 30, 2021, 10:58:33 AM
Hi.  Using Win10.  Blockchain fully loaded. When I start Armory it stops during Build Database.
Are you by any chance using it in pruned mode? If you are, then uncheck it from the settings, then run it until it fully syncs!
- You might want to also double-check if you're using a custom directory.
1803  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Gifting Bitcoin to minor on: November 29, 2021, 08:39:38 PM
Any recommendations for an exchange with a low minimum charge (under 50 UKP) and low commsiion?
The following link might come in handy: BTCitcoin Withdrawal Fees on Cryptocurrency Exchanges + Minimum Withdrawal Amounts
Note: I'm not familiar with most of the exchanges from that list, hence why it's not a recommendation.

Just to give you a couple more options:

  • Currency exchange
Note: Only deal with veterans who have a good reputation since there are a lot of scammers on that board!
  • BTCitcoin ATMs
    - Most of the ones I've seen so far, have an average fee of 10% - 15% but depending on where you are, you "might" be able to find one with a smaller fee.
1804  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Expose] Collect24.Cloud Scam Cloud mining website on: November 29, 2021, 03:52:02 PM
I just Found a Scam Cloud Mining Website on google search. And this was a paid ad. Look like they are on the market for a big target and they Started Big Campaigns to scam people.
Good catch... I'm surprised they're no longer trying to hide that they're scammers [back then, it was less obvious] by automatically creating an account from your address [apart from other obvious red flags]!
- This is probably one of those platforms that would ask you to deposit first before you'd be able to withdraw what they've given to you.

  • Ads On Google Search:

Created on 2019-05-27
Perfect combination/match for scammers! If it wasn't for their registrar [NameCheap], they would've never lasted this long, and on the other side, we have a platform that literally approves all of the ads [despite their claims]!

Here are a few more that are using the same template and content:

1805  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor or Ledger !! on: November 29, 2021, 10:09:55 AM
Color me surprised as well! That's a selling point, but if your coins are POW (e.g. Bitcoin) then 😅
You have a point, but based on my limited knowledge of the field in question, most of the ones I've seen were limited to POS [with the exception of a few (e.g. Kraken)].

I wonder how their staking platform performs when compared to other staking options in terms of rewards, and if Ledger gets a percentage of each sum that is paid out? If you use their swaps platform for example, you get worse rates than if you visited the official website and performed the swap there.
I can't give you a definitive answer, but I did manage to find a Reddit link [Ledger staking, higher fees?] and judging by "its last comment", they have the exact same fees.
- Assuming that it's true, then that could be one of its advantages over Trezor, but I still wouldn't recommend getting one in 2021!
1806  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ViaBTC down? on: November 28, 2021, 07:30:10 PM
my email with them is a gmail address - still never got anything from them.
Same here I check my email but almost all emails that I received from ViaBTC are withdrawal notifications not related to their new domain.
As someone who never pointed any of his previous rigs to their pool [AFAICR], I did receive their announcement on my Gmail address two days ago [screenshot - it has less content in comparison to what someone else reported on the other thread].

  • Since that was a bit strange, I did some digging and it seems that both of you probably have turned off the following setting: Notification Setting [announcement part]
1807  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Black Friday 2021 on: November 28, 2021, 05:06:03 PM
Found a few more:

  • Domain & hosting
    • NameCheap is still offering huge discounts for the next 36 hours [domains (up to 97%), hosting (up to 73%), and web security (up to 74%)] while NameSilo is offering up to 97% off on its domains [with different expiration dates (up to a month)].
  • VPN

Note: I prefer to not vouch for any of the above services.
1808  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor or Ledger !! on: November 28, 2021, 02:25:25 PM
Which one is best to buy in 2021?
Trezor [@dkbit98 already covered the details]!

Ledger is most integrated & preferred wallet.
That part sounded like you're a shill!

According to me, Long Holders usually prefer Trezor & ledger is preferred for everyday transactions.
As a Trezor user who has never hodled intentionally, I have to disagree with how you've generalized users, solely by their hardware wallet choices!

I'm aware of the risks, but I'd rather earn interests aside from price appreciation.
You could've achieved that with Ledger as well: EARN MONEY BY HOLDING CRYPTO ASSETS
- I'm not sure when they've introduced that feature exactly!
1809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saw my 1st 'hybrid' Bitcoin ATM this morning. on: November 28, 2021, 12:10:37 PM
If you wanted to buy you spoke to the cashier, gave him cash and you got a receipt with a barcode that you went to the machine with the receipt scanned the barcode and then a QR code for your address and poof BTC in your wallet.
So, unlike with the last couple of steps when you try to sell, this one doesn't print a receipt "after" sending you the amount! If it was offering such a thing, you could've left the store without having to wait for a confirmation.
- Apart from that, it looks like it's just missing lightning support to tackle the issues with waiting times.

Who could then make a judgement call as to wait for a certain number of conformations or just hand you the cash.
I just did $20 out
Out of curiosity, did the cashier make you wait for that amount?

It was an unbranded machine. No logos or anything, but it looked well built. So I don't know if it was a custom built thing or a new unit that I have not seen yet or something else.
It's probably a prototype but I do like this version more, as opposed to the original one [I like the interaction]!
1810  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Singapore approves Bitcoin fund that trades physical BTC on: November 28, 2021, 09:39:38 AM
The good side is that they buy bitcoin and thus make it easier for big players to buy directly from them without going through the platforms.
You're right, but I have mixed feelings about the "insured custodian" part... I have limited knowledge about such services but I'm assuming there'll be added fees [since we're dealing with big players here, that would probably result in significant fees] and in addition to that, If something bad were to happen, how are they going to pay back those amounts [e.g. its value/worth at the time of the purchase or something else]?

Perhaps the problem is the intention of the Fintonia Secured Yield to provide direct loans to holders of Bitcoins.
They did mention not "rehypothecating the BTCitcoin collaterals" but that seems too good to be true!
1811  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-11-27] Hillary Clinton Warns of China and Russia ‘Manipulating’ Crypto on: November 28, 2021, 07:24:12 AM
Bitcoin has become more as a speculative investment.
Unfortunately, that's true.

also the cryptospace market proved this. Have you noticed how USDT has hyperdollarized everything in the cryptospace? Every altcoin was priced in BTC before 2017, presently it is in USDT.
Yes, I've noticed that in some of the platforms, but I still think we're giving them way more credit than they deserve [it's just more practical and feasible].

Also, based on her interview non-state actors imply people who are not working for the government. It can be those hustlers behind Tether, it can be the cryptocoin developers or it can be the community.
You're right, but I was referring to the part that said: "in concert with states [sorry, I forgot to highlight it (my bad)]".
1812  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CoinmarketCap Don't give a shi* to Bugs [CMC Full of Bugs/Glitches] on: November 27, 2021, 06:10:16 PM
It seems that everything that CZ touches [acquisition of CMC], eventually it would go south but having said that, their response was reasonable for the first case [the need to "use the project's own form, so their system could detect it"].

How it could be finished before release.
This part appears to contradict your previous response that mentioned "it lasted for 6 minutes [after its launch]"!
- Regardless of that, what you've experienced was probably a display bug of some sort and that gave you the impression people were still claiming it [there's a small chance that I could be wrong]!
1813  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-11-27] Hillary Clinton Warns of China and Russia ‘Manipulating’ Crypto on: November 27, 2021, 03:49:30 PM
Also, I reckon the real threat to the banking guild is not bitcoin. It is Tether and other stablecoins because they can redollarize countries without the need to own a Federal Reserve printer.
You have a point but since "most of the stablecoins can be frozen", that still leaves BTCitcoin as the biggest threat to their banking system!

non-state actors ‘manipulating’ it and other technologies to destabilize the dollar.
~Snipped~
We’re looking at non-state actors, either in concert with states or on their own, destabilizing countries, destabilizing the dollar as the reserve currency.”

Based on her interview, I get the impression that instead of going after the corrupt officials, they'd prefer to indirectly restrict their movements [personally, I wouldn't even consider that as a workaround, let alone a proper solution]!
1814  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Expose] Zetbull.com Fake Cloud Mining Project on: November 27, 2021, 11:51:03 AM
@tvplus006 already exposed them back in February [[SCAM] Zetbull.com - Ponzi scheme] and just for the sake of not bumping the other thread after a very long time, I'm going to post a cloned version of it in here instead:

You should probably lock this thread.
1815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto <--> Crypto Exchange Service on: November 27, 2021, 08:56:39 AM
So, what's your suggestion on how I should proceed?
It's actually quite simple:

  • Take your so-called partner out of the equation > Gather your own reserve [be transparent, so we could easily verify them] > Acquire the necessary permits/licenses [depending on where you are, those requirements are slightly different] > Finally, you'd be able to offer a real service!
1816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Citadels Poll on: November 26, 2021, 05:41:01 PM
a suitable citadel to be free and to lay low.
~Snipped~
to create a citadel for bitcoiners and even altcoiners alike.
Personally, if such a place already existed, occasionally I might visit it but I would never relocate to a place that "can't" achieve its main objectives! Most bitcoiners [and altcoiners] rightly have trust issues and I don't think they'd prefer to permanently move to a place that might expose them to other potential risks, that are present within the community [looks can be deceiving and being inside a certain circle, doesn't guarantee that you'd be completely safe]!
1817  Economy / Gambling / Re: Multidice.io | The multi-currency dice game | 35+ cryptos on: November 26, 2021, 02:14:53 PM
After reading some of the comments and suggestions in this thread. We added a page where you can check the mimium amounts to deposit and withdraw for each currency, check here.
Can you explain the basis for choosing "those amounts"? The patterns that are being used are all over the place!

Why dont you make it equal to the minimum invest which is 10x lower than min deposit?
I have a strong feeling that the developer somehow messed up the placement of decimal points [for some of them]!
- 13 out of the first 25 cryptocurrencies have identical numbers for their minimum investments and deposits.

almost 2 weeks of thread existence but OP just come to visit twice , and not even bother answering those ques given above.
By the look of things, I wouldn't be surprised if that platform has only a single developer with no other team member!
1818  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Crypto 101 by BSP on: November 26, 2021, 09:58:38 AM
I don't think magkakaroon ng karagdagang fees yung mga wallets or services sa atin pag naregulate sila, dahil it's more about kung paano sila mag ooperate sa bansa [e.g. dapat fair yung actions nila pag dating sa certain situations] and stuff like that. Pag dating naman dun sa taxes, that's bound to happen at some point in 2022 and base dun sa sinabi nila [IIRC, it was attorney JJ], sa ngayon hindi pa required [voluntary].

Pasensya na at wala akong masyadong alam pag dating sa regulations and taxations.
Okay lang yun, halos lahat limited ang knowledge pag dating sa mga ganyan bagay [including me] Smiley
1819  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Black Friday deals 2021 on: November 26, 2021, 09:11:58 AM
Just found another one from a new hardware wallet: 10% off [with "Holiday10" code - source] for Arculus™: Secure Cold Storage Wallet [it expires on the 31st of December]
Note: Without getting into too much detail, I'd like to point out that despite their claims about being an air-gapped wallet, they're actually "NOT" air-gapped!
1820  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [INFO] 12 years old programmer creates website iVote.ph (Blockchain Voting) on: November 25, 2021, 07:13:51 PM

I know na marami pang loopholes pero at least may progress at posible nga ito.
I'm impressed dun sa nagawa nun 8th-grader at tulad ng sinabi mo, may mga loopholes pa like the fact na pwedeng bumoto with multiple numbers at kahit na may balak silang mag dagdag ng KYC process in the future [source], its success rate depends on what extent they're willing to go to verify those data [without the involvement ng gobyerno, impossible yung task]!
