1821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: does this have something to do with bitcoin's current decline... on: November 25, 2021, 07:24:52 AM
if so, what is the percentage of the impact on bitcoin and other cryptos in the future .....
None of us can accurately measure or rather speculate on that front and even if it still has an influence [highly unlikely], it'll diminish in the future!

The miners there already transferred to other jurisdictions like Kazakhstan and the entire market moved on since then.
Seeing that they've given the following statements, makes me believe there might still be some miners in there:
- Having said that, there are always some false reports/statements from in and out of China!

1822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: luck or hack? on: November 24, 2021, 05:47:16 PM
If something like this happens, how will the community react?
Like nothing happened! I highly doubt most of the community would even notice it while the remaining users who have a habit of tracking such transactions, probably aren't going to be affected by something that happens a lot more than you might imagine!

e.g. The following transactions happened in the past hour [I can easily list hundreds of those]:

1823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2021-11-23] Stripe to resume crypto support on: November 24, 2021, 03:43:00 PM
According to the list of vacancies, three employees are required for the new department
https://stripe.com/jobs/search?q=crypto
I counted 10 job openings for those three fields but regardless of that, this is the first time I'm getting the impression that such a brand/company isn't trying to introduce their own cryptocurrency, but instead, they seem to be more interested in building a platform or a product around other existing cryptocurrencies or their underlying technologies.
- Despite having limited knowledge in regards to back-end stuff, I have a good feeling about this [most of the time, it's exactly the opposite]!
1824  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Crypto 101 by BSP on: November 24, 2021, 09:10:06 AM
Sa December daw ilalabas nila yung draft and for some reason, maganda yung nararamdaman ko, kahit na di niya nadisclose yung details.

Few other notes:

  • While yung pinaguusapan nilang topic [partly] was about scam preventive methods, may mga scammers na nag spam sa Pisolit FB page Cheesy

How we can have a sub-plate for Persian?
The answer to that is literally a few posts above yours [Creating فارسی (Persian) Sub-Board under Local Board] and based on your account, I have a strong feeling that's not a genuine question Roll Eyes
1826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cola.bet launches zero margin campaign in Africa. on: November 23, 2021, 07:30:07 PM
even offered the users with additional 150% deposit bonus,
For some reason, their homepage is still showing a "100% deposit bonus" [a bit strange]!

They are also going to introduce a variety of other bonuses for the players, which I do think might be really good for the people who might be into betting, they would be getting new options as well.
It's worth noting that they can't combine multiple bonuses at the same time:

  • No multiple bonus
Only one bonus can be activated at any given time. Deposit bonuses cannot be combined. For example, a promotion that provides for a bonus upon registration and a welcome bonus, do not stack and a user will have to pick one of them.

While I was scrolling through their "Bonus Policy" page, the following parts caught my attention, and such things usually lead to a big mess:
- IMO, it's like giving false promises for the sake of getting more users to sign-up [it's unethical]!

  • Bonuses generally
We are entitled to create new bonuses, alter the existing bonuses and remove bonuses at any time at our own discretion and without prior notice to you. It is your obligation to carefully review the terms of bonuses (including the terms of a specific bonus) every time before using it. We can restrict the bonuses to be applicable only to specific events and types of games.
1827  Economy / Services / Re: Domain Registration & Word press hosting using bitcoin on: November 23, 2021, 03:50:56 PM
@UmerIdrees
Just to give you another option, back in the day, I purchased my domain and hosted my WordPress-based website with "SteadyTurtle" and while I was using their services for a few years, I never encountered a problem. They're no longer active in this forum but you can still read some of the reviews on their "ann thread [has two promo codes]".
1828  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] JoinMix.io - Coinjoin your bitcoin on: November 23, 2021, 02:18:02 PM
In beginning phase coinjoins will run once a day (midnight GMT) for maximum anon set.
~Snipped~
Some benefits over Wasabi:
  • No long wait time by computer waiting for coinjoin.
I'm not a Wasabi user, but I just read the "doing coinjoin step-by-step" part, and based on the 5th step + the current state of your website, the above-highlighted part is inaccurate!

There's always going to be trust issues with new platforms offering such services, but regardless of that, you should also provide support for Legacy and SegWit addresses [I don't think those who really care about improving the privacy of their coins, would mind paying a bit more in fees].
1829  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Legit miner wholesalers? Bitmain and Canaan on: November 23, 2021, 12:25:34 PM
Hello, i am looking to start selling bitcoin miners through my own website. Does anyone have legitimate vendors/wholesalers on alibaba, aliexpress or other websites. Looking for both bitmain and canaan miners.
Basically, you're looking for a way to shoot yourself in the foot! By the look of things, you're looking to "directly resell" ASIC rigs from sellers on those platforms and that usually doesn't end well [if it goes wrong (mostly does), you have to refund your customer out of your own pocket].

  • If you continue that route, sooner or later, "this will be your future".
    - Either stick to the official manufacturers or ditch the whole idea [it's not worth the risk]!
1830  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginner`s question about tracking quotes on: November 23, 2021, 09:39:13 AM
In some threads, my posts were quoted and responded to
~Snipped~
So I'm wondering if there is some way to keep track of quotes?
Alternatively, you can also use the "advanced search" feature on this forum [it's not automated, but it gets the job done]:

  • Click the "magnifying glass icon" from the upper right corner of any page [it's beside the empty search field].
  • Type your name in the second search field.
  • Choose the appropriate period [e.g. between 0 and 10 days].
  • Make sure all of the boards are checked, then click search.
1831  Economy / Reputation / Re: WARNING! Blacklist for Gambling Sites 1xbit "SCAM" !!! on: November 23, 2021, 07:52:56 AM
You may not be able to do something against it since they are probably using adnetworks to advertise.
~Snipped~
Maybe point them to the threads in this forum.
Victims can do something similar to what @ni23457 did [he/she paid for ad spaces in this forum and exposed Changelly and its sister sites] if they're willing to spend money! If they're using certain ad networks, then victims should target and run ads on those ad networks as well.
- Having said that, nothing stops them from spreading their ads into other platforms and services [in other words, a never-ending game]!
1832  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Phishing site] be careful with database-chains.org on: November 22, 2021, 05:56:47 PM
In other words, it's a phishing site that will steal a victim's  backup phase, private keys or Keystore JSON file with the password.
And here's the archived versions before they tweak those pages:

I managed to find two other websites that also use the exact same pattern:

1833  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Gifting Bitcoin to minor on: November 22, 2021, 01:59:29 PM
Just a minimum amount which appears to be 30 UKP.
Are you referring to the British Pound? If you're willing to spend a bit more and get your nephew something that "also" has a different kind of value, then I'd suggest looking at the "Collectibles" board and choosing the cheapest funded and graded collectible coin that you can find [he has to break the case, in order to get to the private key].
Note: DYOR before trusting any of the sellers!

I have also considered putting it in my own name and transferring it to him legally when he hits 18.   Is there any way of giving him "read-only" login rights to an account so he can check the value without being able to tinker with anything?
In addition to what Jawhead999 posted, the following feature might come in handy: Timelock
1834  Economy / Services / Re: [Wanted] Looking for traffic for my faucet on: November 21, 2021, 07:47:26 PM
and I'm looking for CPC traffic.
I quickly went through the following list [and their websites] and it appears that you can get CPC traffic from the following services:
Note: I'm not vouching for any of the following providers [DYOR].

I'd take it with a grain of salt! Chineck ko yung formula nila at depending on a few things, pwedeng mabago ang mga results at may sinama din silang bagay na it doesn't make sense:

  • We also looked at the home countries of BrokerChooser users,
    ~Snipped~
Combining these factors, we were then able to assign a crypto awareness score to discover which country has the most interest and awareness in cryptocurrency and trading them.
    ~Snipped~
We chose to look at the 50 countries with the highest number of BrokerChooser users based on our own data.

The same goes dun sa mga ginamit nilang ibang sources... Halimbawa, yung tungkol sa number ng mga crypto owners, estimate lang yung binibigay ni "Triple A" dahil walang way para imeasure nila accurately at pagdating dun sa crypto search results, masyadong vague yung nacheck nilang keywords:

1836  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: A simple and fun Build Your Own BTC Transaction application. on: November 21, 2021, 03:03:02 PM
an educational tool for users and newcomers to understand some of the mechanics behind a bitcoin transaction.
I've also partially tested some of the steps and since you're mostly targeting newcomers, then you might want to translate/explain some of the words from the "read more pop-up windows" even further.

A couple of suggestions:

  • It'd be better if you could add decimal points to the values [it's a bit weird in its current state].
  • Since one of the APIs that you're using is for Blockchain.com [FKA .info], then perhaps you could redesign the UTXO page and display them like how "they used to do it before".
    - A simple separation line between each of the UTXO fields would probably do the trick as well.

Bookmarked [I'm impressed with both of your tools] Smiley
1837  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Black Friday deals 2021 on: November 20, 2021, 08:27:10 PM
Thanks for suggesting this.
I added Ellipal to the list even if I wouldn't suggest anyone buying this wallet, just trying to be as neutral as possible and posting all Black Friday deals for hardware wallets.
You're very welcome... Same here [I have to admit, that was probably the third time that I've revisited their landing page after bookmarking it and I only did it for the sake of this thread]!

Interesting idea from BitBox team but this 50% discount is only valid for 3 random people, and it would be much better if they gave those devices totally free.
People keep asking them about Black Friday deals but they keep quite, and this is just a poor replacement for real discounts.
You have a point, but I have good news... They just confirmed through email that there'll be some Black Friday deals [screenshot] Smiley
1838  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitmain.shopping Review For A Scam Website | Be careful it is a SCAM on: November 20, 2021, 04:27:08 PM
The scammers behind evominers.com have made another website for stealing - https://bitmain.shopping/
Great catch, but it seems that there are two more sister sites:

1839  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Real Properties sold for crypto on: November 20, 2021, 02:31:07 PM
Note: I'm not vouching for any of the following listings.

1840  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-11-19] White paper introducing Jack Dorsey's decentralized Bitcoin exchang on: November 20, 2021, 01:00:57 PM
I'm not going to pretend that I've read the whole whitepaper, but I was surprised at seeing how they're identifying themselves as something other than a centralized platform [I'm not referring to the article since they've addressed them accurately] while giving fancy names to some of the things that it's present in centralized platforms!

  • I'm curious to see how they'd be able to pull off the following part?

One distinguishing aspect discussed in the white paper is that of chargebacks, which doesn't exist on most DEXs. If implemented, the ability for Square to reverse transactions on the tbDEX could potentially stop irreversible loss suffered by investors during decentralized finance rug pulls.
In the context of the tbDEX protocol, chargebacks present an added challenge because the credit or debit card is used to purchase cryptocurrency that can then be deposited into a self-custody wallet, where assets cannot be recovered by PFIs. In this example, there’s asymmetry between a reversible payment instrument in the fiat world versus a non-reversible or recoverable transaction in the cryptocurrency world. Figuring out how to effectively manage fraud and chargeback risks is a significant area for further development that we will seek to address in future versions of the whitepaper.
