2241  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you still believe in bitcoin on: January 26, 2016, 01:21:01 AM
I joined up over here in 2012-13. At the time it seemed like a way to make a quick buck. Overtime as i read about it more and more, i became interested in the freedom it provides. As time has went on however, my interest and belief in bitcoin have waned. I won't get into the details of why, but i'm wondering what your honest opinion of bitcoin is, with a simple vote, and possibly an explanation.

I missed the poll but yes of course I believe in bitcoin. It may not be tangible but it's real and whether it's worth $0.01 or $1,000,000 it's here to stay.
2242  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitgold - Legit or scam ? on: January 26, 2016, 01:17:06 AM
...

I take the old-fashioned view of gold: If you can't stand in front of it, and defend it with an AR-15, then you don't own it.

In other words, find a way to be able to buy and hide your physical gold.

If Bitgold ever defaults (like during a gold price reset to $50,000...), then the BEST you could hope for would be cash settlement, and that would be at a lower price (before the sudden reset).

Holding your gold close is just so much better.

I'd have to agree with this.

Why bother trusting them? You can literally just buy gold. It just seems too easy. Also, the 1st time posters coming on here to give a huge in-depth review only raises my suspicions.
2243  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: January 26, 2016, 01:07:30 AM
Doesn't seem like many women use Bitcoins. I'm not sure why, it must just be interesting/logical to men?

2247  Other / Meta / Re: How can I earn trust on Bitcointalk? on: November 22, 2015, 08:51:56 PM
You are already extremely suspicious, at least to me, just by asking that question. Why do you need to earn trust in the firstplace? Is not having positive trust affecting you in any way here? Would you mind asking those questions first?

Edit: TL;DR version: I couldn't find a guide on the forum for how the trust system actually worked on Bitcointalk. So thought I might as well ask how some people earn trust.

Well understandably I seem suspicious. I'm just some random on a Bitcoin forum. I get it. I'm just starting to understand how Bitcoins work and stumbled across this forum.

I'm assuming you want me to answer the questions? I didn't really understand what "trust" is on this forum. It seems like people have it only if Bitcoins were risked with you. I wanted to see if people ever earn trust without holding on to people's Bitcoins. In all honesty I wouldn't trust anyone with escrow. I don't really care about how many Bitcoins they've escrowed in the past. It just seems like this is a currency where you can't trust anyone because it's irreversible. Just because some has a magical title of ultra super magic man just means... they post a lot. Which clearly means nothing. But if someone has trust it just shows you're an actual good person and you've proven it. That's what it seems to be anyways.

Is not having positive trust affecting me in any way? Nope. I'm a very trustworthy person in real life so was wondering how someone would earn trust on a forum where you never actually meet these people in real life. To me it seems like a place where I wouldn't ever completely trust anyone. There's absolutely no way to get back anything you've sent.

I guess I was just wondering because it's something to aim for. Like I said, I'm never going to borrow. I won't ever have that need. If I did I definitely wouldn't ask people on a forum for money.

2253  Other / Meta / How can I earn trust on Bitcointalk? on: November 14, 2015, 07:55:42 PM
What with me being new to this forum no one has any reason to trust me. Which obviously I don't blame them at all! I'm never going to need a loan (I don't like paying interest) so how else could I earn trust?

Seems like an obvious answer "do something trustworthy" but I'd really like someone to explain it in a little more detail.

Also can Newbie's give positive or negative trust on someone's account? It seem like you shouldn't be able to make an account one day and give someone + or - trust the next.

If there's already a sticky about this could you lead me to it? Thanks in advance!

EDIT: HERE'S A GREAT POST BY THEYMOS TO UNDERSTAND "TRUST" MORE

I think because the value of bitcoin it's changed .

Lol ya bitcoin doubles in price so the rewards are 1/6.  Huh Not much reason to play anymore unfortunately. It's too bad. I really liked these games.

2258  Economy / Services / Re: I will have your site tattood on my calf on: November 07, 2015, 02:53:45 AM
Hahaha I just had to post. I seriously thought you were going to tattoo a baby cow. I really didn't understand how anyone would ever see it because obviously it would be on a farm in the middle of nowhere. Also... Poor baby cow!!!

Don't tattoo baby cows (calves). Maybe just brand it? Wink

calf1/kaf/

Just scored 252 and didn't get credit. Sent another email but I won't be playing this anymore. This is really too bad. I liked the game.
2260  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Play Flappy Bird on your Android Phone and win FREE BTC! Faucet on: October 25, 2015, 01:53:54 PM
I've sent multiple emails with no responses. Does anyone else have the huge problem where if you score 80+ it lags and lags for a while. I scored 197 and it lagged for 6 minutes just hanging and waiting to get to the screen showing who won. Even worse is today when I scored 203 and the app was hanging for minutes then it just didn't count my game.. I have pictures which have been emailed but I'm not expecting any response as I've had nothing so far.
