1521  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I have got 0.419 btc for WU cash or Paypal on: December 24, 2016, 01:54:30 PM
I only need .1BTC. I'll give preev - 10%. I have PayPal.

I expect you to go first or we could use an escrow on the forum. It won't protect you from charge backs though. I won't be charging back but just making sure you're aware that once an escrow releases the funds someone could potentially charge back for up to 180 days with PayPal.

Edit - what currency are you looking for? I have Canadian dollars.

Edit: and op was never heard from again.... Lol
1522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Extreme Flaws Of Bitcoin on: December 24, 2016, 01:45:13 PM

2) Bitcoin mining is not ASIC resistant

There is no such thing as ASIC resistant. Some algorithms try to do this by being memory intensive but that will fail because GPU farms can still provide sizeable hashing power.
You can make ASICs harder to manufacture, i.e scrypt ones are more difficult than SHA256 but still... These are not the only flaws, purists wanting to keep 1MB blocks forever or scale to unlimited size or have a band-aid fix of a one time increase are in my opinion deluded, but that's my own opinion. One of my indian clients is struggling to give me daily payments of my articles due to TX fee size, this is becoming a problem for Bitcoin. No one has considered countries which do not have a lot of money, a 20p TX fee is too much for example. Now we are switching to every few days which I am fine with, if this carries on we may move to Litecoin for a more clear blockchain.

Segwit is the best option for those who wish to run full network nodes even though it takes more power, imagine unlimited having 64MB blocks? This wont even come close to visa or mastercards transaction volume but it would make blocks insanely hard to propagate and store.

ASIC resistance is a myth, you can make a dedicated chip for anything if theres enough desire and someone with the cash decides to do it, design it and have a foundry make it for them. You can make it harder and less cost effective (i.e scrypt and cryptonight) A CPU is simply a chip designed to do Multiple tasks, a GPU is like a CPU which can do many SINGLE tasks of one's choice, one at a time, an ASIC is a chip designed for a SINGLE task, no other task can ever be done or adapted for it, but it can do it better than the other two. For example if Bitcoin crashed and no sha256 coin took its place, all the ASICs become a doorstop. This can be designed for any particular task, some ASICs can be used for video decoding if desired for a single algorithm. Cheap MP3 players would have an ASIC to decode the MP3s. Someone designed an ASIC to crack 64 bit DES keys.

But slowing down the research is he point not to stop it. If you make ASIC chips very expensive to research and manufacture then the centralization will halt.

Someone smater/better than you came up with asics and is rich now. Too bad for you. Anyways how do you suggest we fix the flaws you pointed out? You're free to make an altcoin anytime you want (or are you just bitching but have literally no abilities to change the code at all?). Either way, you fix it since you're obviously smarter than the people trying to do it right now.
1523  Economy / Goods / Re: Testing the water. WTS (Maybe) My Soul. on: December 24, 2016, 01:40:30 PM
Ok what are the terms? Are you heterosexual? Not that I have anything towards peoples sexual orientation but I am straight myself. My last sole unfortunately was gay but the sole broker was kind enough to give me a refund. Needless to say I don't trust this broker to give me a proper sole anymore. If your sole is as pure as you say it is we may need to start a crowd fund. Any boxing day specials coming soon for Dec 26?

For those who don't know what a gay sole is:

Vs a normal sole:

Or

Not to be confused with a soul:

Good luck on your shoe/fish search sir! I sure hope you get a heterosexual one this time! Never hold a fish between your legs. That's how you find out the hard way...
1524  Economy / Speculation / Re: 778 resistance broken, 779 hit, time to fly!! on: December 23, 2016, 06:43:44 PM
It's been pretty fast, a bit faster than expected. 900$+ seems like a new strong floor right now, pretty awesome. We'll be at 1000$+ before new year, potentially a new ATH even. Everything is possible right now. Only idiots will be missing out on owning a piece of internet history like bitcoin. You couldn't buy TCP/IP shares, but you can buy bitcoin protocol shares. I can't believe people isn't going all in on this thing.

Once we hit $1000 the next milestones do not seem impossible any longer.  Cheesy

Reaching $1000 and maintaining it are two different things. Before we can look forward to what has to come after finanlly reaching $1000 again, we must be able to put up enough buy support at various levels in order to keep the price there instead of wobbling up and down between three and four figure prices. And who knows what will happen once we finally touch the $1000 level again. It's no surprise that when we are doing well, out of nothing hacked services and exchanges pop up taking the price down. It's nothing new anymore.

This big pump over the past few days freaks me out, I mean it's great profits don't get me wrong. I just don't want to have to go through a huge correction. The falls are always muchfaster than the rises from what I've seen in the past (ex. 7 days to rise $100 then it falls $80 in 24h).
1525  Economy / Services / Re: Get your itcoin signatures on: December 23, 2016, 06:37:39 PM
I am willing to create bitcointalk signatures for all level of members with websites or applications. This will rush your bitcon profits

Your title has a mistake. Should I expect your work that you do for me to also have mistakes? Or should I expect your work to be as amazing as your signature right now? How long did it take to do that up?
1526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very little Press Coverage of Bitcoin's Rally this time on: December 23, 2016, 05:59:11 PM
All I could find are the following articles:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-12-23/bitcoin-surges-above-900-on-geopolitical-risks-fed-tightening

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-12-22/bitcoin-soars-above-900-china-opens

http://uk.businessinsider.com/bitcoin-price-breaks-900-on-december-23-2016-12

This is in sharp contrast to Dec 2013 when everyone but everyone was covering it.

It's also in sharp contrast to the Ether pump, which even had the NYTimes busily talking about how ETH would replace BTC.

The mainstream media now have the order of the powers that be to not inform the public about bitcoin since they are scared that it's going to take the banking system down, so they dont want to give any bad news, they will just keep talking about hacks and crime and stuff.

Maybe they will not be able to keep quiet about it when we hit a new ATH in the next hours/days.

It's time to hang up that tinfoil hat and go to sleep.

It's Christmas. The news is all worried about talking to weirdos on the street that are last minute shopping. Idk, doesn't matter. A huge pump causes a huge dump. We don't need that shit.
1527  Other / Off-topic / Re: Microsoft "Account Temporarly Suspended Please Contact Support" error on: December 23, 2016, 05:53:42 PM
Ummm wtf does this have to do with bitcoins? Try the off topic section lol. Do you mean your MSDN keys aren't working? If so, no shit.
1528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we convince Google to have a Bitcoin Doodle on Genesis day? on: December 23, 2016, 05:52:17 PM
Aw crap I didn't know it was so soon or I would have suggested it earlier to them. Idk how long it takes for them to make a doodle and Ido if they give a crap about bitcoins. It's always 300 year old dead weirdos that invented stuff. Wood see ding, I made a stick with a rock on the end of it and no one gave me a damn doodle. I think I was the first to do it.
1529  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-12-22]BTC38 hot wallet got hacked and lost 1.5 million on: December 22, 2016, 08:38:56 PM
Fortunately it was only a fraction of the amount lost in the Bitfinex hack, but once again should serve as a warning to those who use exchanges like a bank to store their funds.  Time and again this has proven to be an unsafe practice.  Bitfinex was estimated at around 120,000 BTC lost, whereas this one is only the equivalent of around 250 BTC.

I was trying to figure out what RMB was but obviously 250BTC in minor in terms of the whole market. Bitfinex was almost 1% of all bitcoins whereas this is ... such a small fraction. We've seen so much upward movement I doubt this will have much affect at all on price.
1530  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: GeFii's Happy Holiday BITCOIN RAFFLE! on: December 22, 2016, 07:26:48 PM
Free? Raffle? I'm in  Grin I'll take a ticket if there's one left!
1531  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices could leap to $2000 in 2017? on: December 22, 2016, 07:23:31 PM
I never would have thought this to be a possibility a few weeks or even days ago but if we break that $1000 barrier woah... watch out world. Here comes BITCOIN!!!
I don't think we get above $1000k any time soon. We still have to beat the top of this year, let alone getting to $1k. The game is called rising supply, and as long as there is enough new money coming into the game we are rising. As soon as we observe difficulties on the demand side, the price should drop considerably. $2k is completely unrealistic at the moment.

Rofl!! 1000k ($1,000,000) eh? Ya. I don't think we'll hit $1mil anytime soon either.  Cheesy
1532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel shameful for being a gambler? on: December 22, 2016, 01:00:37 AM
Meh. No. Just don't gamble more than you can afford to lose and you don't have to worry about going home and feeling like a worthless sack of crap.
Oh boy, this hard to answer. I would say that I'm in the state of being proud as a gambler when I am always winning, where I am telling my friends about that.

But every time I lose whether it is big amount or small. I'm removing my status as a gambler because I find it shameful that way.

I guess I have that attitude that I can't remove my pride that people can see to me every time I am failing whether it is with gambling or not.

I've never felt proud of gambling. Happy with a win, but definitely never pride. You need to work at something to be proud of it. You can't be proud of a welfare cheque either.
1533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump picks "Bitcoin Congressman" Mulvaney for budget chief among others. on: December 22, 2016, 12:43:27 AM
Elon Musk (Trump’s Strategic and Policy Forum), publicly said that Bitcoin is "probably a good thing"

Hahahaha I love that quote. It's basically:

"It's probably ok or shitty or fine or whatever, look at these cool solar roofs though..."

I wouldn't call that bitcoin support.
1534  Other / New forum software / Re: New rank? on: December 21, 2016, 11:50:59 PM
You're right, there's a whole generation of users that will become Legendary, and this rank will get what Sr. Member is nowadays, cool but not so much awesome.
There was really no need to quote my post back from 2015. I don't think there are a lot of legendary (yet). I'm sure that someone could run the numbers (which may be a bit difficult considering the status of the members page).

There is 1095 Legendary members. The oldest one register in 2009-12-10 (The only Legendary member from 2009 ) and the most recent one is from 2014-09-26. The number should be correct if the "Search members" - by position is working correctly (it seem to work correctly).

EDIT: More stats :

  • 2009: 1 Legendary
  • 2010: 38 Legendary - Total: 39
  • 2011: 256 Legendary - Total: 295
  • 2012: 142 Legendary - Total: 437
  • 2013: 480 Legendary - Total: 917
  • 2014: 178 Legendary - Total: 1095

A lot more people joined and stayed in 2013 than 2014! That doesn't surprise me but it's a pretty huge difference. Thanks for the info.

What if instead of a new rank, if we could lost activity, say lose one point per day that you dont log in starting after 90 days, or lose X amount of points per Y amount of days you go without posting.

You would still have people accumulating activity and beyond a point, there would be legendary accounts with a large difference in activity.
We haven't reached that point yet, but when we do, it would be nice to have a new rank there.

The majority of the forum would still be legendary at some point so it makes the entire legendary title pointless if everyone else is also legendary.
1535  Economy / Lending / Re: Anyone lend me or partner with me for 1.77BTC on: December 21, 2016, 11:43:31 PM
First, No one is going to lend or partner with someone whose first post is a loan request. This of course is different if you have a valid collateral to offer.

Secondly, What happens if you loose?
First off, you don't lose because its been fixed. Second, My legitimacy has nothing to do with whether i'm a first time poster or umpteenth time poster. The frequency of my posts doesn't make me questionable.
Ok tell you what, the vendor hands out 1 free game every month, but it usually a low odd (2.7-3). Draw games in one of these lower leagues. To prove to you, hook me up on the 20th of January 2017. The last one he handed out for this month was on the 16th of december. I can pm you the exact mail.
The reason i need this gigs is because i need to win big and be able to afford my own gigs in future that's why i needed a partner.

I will pm u the rest.

Betting on a fixed game. So when can I expect your buddy to come to my house and bash my kneecaps with a led pipe? What a stupid offer. Shady as fuck man.
1536  Economy / Digital goods / Re: ANB AIO latest version with updates!! Works w/Adidas/Kith/Supreme/Foot sites on: December 21, 2016, 11:40:31 PM
I don't get what your bot does. Is it so you can somehow buy things faster on their websites? Maybe explain a bit in the op if you want more sales.

Also, you're charging $90? Then why are you even posting this here? It's BTCitcointalk not dollartalk.
1537  Economy / Gambling / Re: Hack Into BitDice And Get 1BTC! on: December 21, 2016, 11:34:58 PM
Wtf. So you have 2FA? That's your big gimmick as to why I should gamble with you? This is poor at best. A lot of people use the same passwords everywhere even h they know they shouldn't, so this isn't saying you have good security, it's just that you have 2FA. It's good, but if the email password is the same it's useless.
1538  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1000+ is anytime now on: December 21, 2016, 03:33:25 PM
1000 dollar is nice and it will happen indeed for sure but not right now and also not this year, it will be around the half of 2017 is my prediction right now.

Who gives a shit unless you are holding now? why would someone take the risk now to make a lousy 20% profit? and by risk I mean a bitcoin crash, you know - the kind that has happened many times before.

Your so shortsited you may as well be blind
Who ever buys an 800 btc will hardly sell it for 1k unless he's hungry or broke already
3-7k will probably be where some folks take profit, some may feel that isn't enough either and wait for prices in excess of $10k

Lol that's most likely not going to happen for years though. This isn't the olden times of bitcoins where they just skyrocket to the moon for a few weeks. We're having steady rises so I don't see 3k for at least a year but even then that's probably just being overly bullish.
1539  Economy / Economics / Re: How stable will bitcoin be? on: December 19, 2016, 08:21:48 PM
If you look at normal currency vs. Bitcoin I'm assuming bitcoins will be constantly on a 2-3% rise because of inflation on any other currency. So it depends what you're comparing it to. If we're talking about a currency with normal inflation then yes it'll be relatively stable at some point but if we're talking about currencies that are new or currencies that have a higher rate of inflation (3rd world countries) bitcoins will seem less stable there even if it's stable in terms of the value in another country. Either way you'll be better of with bitcoins rather than fiat!
1540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGOX collapsed organised with the MSM and Governments around the world on: December 19, 2016, 06:13:55 PM
OP, you have to agree that the damage that Mt. Gox did was much larger than the amount of money that was lost. It was still early days, and Bitcoin was on the rise. The timing of this was nearly catastrophic for new Bitcoin users. At the time, Mt. Gox was one of the biggest exchanges around, and a lot of people used it. It was launched in July 2010 and up until 2013 it handled almost 70% of all bitcoin transactions. If you wanted to take down Bitcoin, then Mt. Gox was your best target.

Mark Karpeles almost sunk Bitcoin on his own, luckily some people still saw the value and they kept on going. ^smile^

Wasn't there a bot pumping the price of bitcoins? I remember reading that at one point.

Ah yes, Willy bot. I don't know how much of it is truth though. It's another theory anyways.
