1921  Other / Meta / Re: How many bitcointalk account allow in one ip/device? on: September 05, 2016, 01:25:53 AM
As with any site they aren't disallowed but it's frowned upon. There's never really a reason for 30 accounts unless you're spamming all over the place in person signature campaign or you're scamming people. Some people hav 1 alt when they'd away or not on a secure computer (Theymos & shorena are some that I've seen).

If you start spamming on 30 accounts you'll be IP banned. If you randomly make a lot of accounts and don't break any rules then they won't get banned Wink
1922  Economy / Services / Re: Need a negitive feedback service. on: September 05, 2016, 12:16:52 AM
Lol I read through the whole transcript. What a guy. At some points he tries to act professional and others he just flat out doesn't care and taunts/threatens you. What a schmuck. At the same time I don't want my localbitcoins to have the rep to leave negative feedback when it's not warranted. I'm sur you'll have some interest with the $5 offer but it's kind of low to wreck our own rep (assuming he'll want to deal with us too).
1923  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what's bitcoin IRA ? on: September 04, 2016, 11:18:27 PM
Maybe try typing this out in your native tongue on a local board? No idea what you're trying to ask here. Will you be taxed by the IRS in the USA? Sure.

Individual retirement account? Sure you can us Bitcoins to sav for retirement.
1924  Other / Meta / Re: Replace DT with just a common database of past trades on: September 04, 2016, 07:39:52 PM
I think of DT as a sort of 'real life' implication to the forum.

'That guy looks sketchy as hell'

That's a feeling someone has. If it's based on something in real life like 'He sells cocaine to high school kids and was in jail for 4 years' then he has that reputation.

The only way to do that on a forum would be to add some sort of negative trust to their profile.
1925  Economy / Digital goods / Re: CLOSED on: September 04, 2016, 04:16:30 PM
CLOSED THREAD

Ok one last thing, have you test it yourself, have you order any Fitbit activity tracker for you?

That answers that haha. Nope. He's Sketchy McSketcherton and he's moving on to bigger and better things. Don't send this guy your bitcoins first Wink or consider it a donation.
1926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Companies Who Reimburse Losses Stay Alive on: September 04, 2016, 04:13:15 PM
Haha ok and if my house burns down the insurance company will replace everything within the house. Oh except this isn't covered, and that and this other thing. But in the end 8-18 months later you'll definitely have 40-80% of your funds back (assuming it wasn't your fault your house burned down!)

Or: You could not smoke in bed next to your oily rag collection.

Why wouldn't they just secure their funds better? Banks have had such strict rules for centuries but these clowns get hacked left right and centre in an economy/ community that's completely focused on security. What a clusterfuck.
1927  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-09-04]Blockchain.Info Users Continue to Face Issues on: September 04, 2016, 04:07:58 PM
Don't. Use. Online. Wallets.

If this is really still going on then the dumb newbies who keep there coins there are going to get their funds hacked / stolen / lost / locked. It's a web wallet people. It's as secure as an exchange. Use your own damn wallets and not these make-shift start-up online only bitcoin banks.

'Sure I'll hold your money. Why not? There's no risk to me Cheesy'
1928  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ilpirata79 on: September 04, 2016, 04:04:19 PM
It clearly look like a sold/hacked/farmed account. Trust is from 2014 so I never would have done anything first for this guy. He hasn't been active in a long time then all of a sudden starts posting in March / April 2016.. I just doesn't look like a legitimate account anymore.
1929  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Merch Account on: September 04, 2016, 03:28:33 PM
Huh? Care to give any sort of explanation as to what you're selling? Is this a bitcointalk.org account? A PayPal account? By merch you mean merchant?

Details?? Lol.
1930  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rising to 600$ , pure manipulation ? on: September 04, 2016, 03:21:43 PM
Of course it's manipulation. A system so fundamentally broken can't have a realistic value this extreme.
Considering the niche of people that really care about bitcoin as a system i don't think the value is above $30.

However, there is still a lot of blind faith and ignorance, which allows bitcoiners to sell their bags to the next fool with stories that one day they will be rich if they buy their bitcoin. This also produces a perfect environment for market manipulation by big players, which is exactly what's happening now.

Now we wait for the next big whale dump.

Handy that you didn't even have to start the thread but you still get to FUD all over Bitcoin right?

@OP, this really isn't a big swing. I don't see where you're coming from. There doesn't have to be 'big news' in order for a what.. 5% swing? This is nothing. I've seen bank stocks swing more than this in any given day with no real reason.
1931  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you have to get your bitcoins taxed if you sell like 220 dollars monthly? on: September 03, 2016, 06:31:52 PM
Short answer: Yes

Long answer: Depends where you live, how bitcoin is regulated there, if you really think anyone will ever notice (did you know in Canada you're required to claim bartering for tax purposes?! No one does, but you're supposed to).

In the end it's $220, no one will care but technically (again, depends where you live) you need to pay capital gains if you're buying and selling.
1932  Economy / Gambling / Re: 999dice on: September 03, 2016, 05:20:46 PM
Now when you say young winning, are you withdrawing your funds? Try to make a withdrawal and let us know from there. If you input 0.001BTC an win 1BTC but can never withdraw it then you didn't really 'win' anything now did you?
1933  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [$20] BRAND NEW FITBIT SURGE OR OTHER | ANY COLOR & SIZE on: September 03, 2016, 04:16:42 PM
Clicked the link. A fitbit surge is $300+. Why would you be able to get one for $20? (answer: you can't...) but what does that matter because:

TOS:

You will pay first and fill out the form I give you.

That's sketchy as hell. I'm not sending you an irreversible payment for 95% off of a product that's in high demand. Could I also get a $100 MacBook shipped to me in a Mercedes that'll only cost me an extra $1000? Thanks.
1934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Free bitcoin in Iceland on: September 02, 2016, 07:49:53 PM
You're in Iceland and you didn't post pictures?!?! Come on man that's just not fair. If I could go anywhere in the world right now it would be Iceland ( and not just because I'd be looking for your free bitcoins lol. This is a good idea that I might just do locally.
1935  Economy / Services / Re: Renting Hero Member Signature Space Very Cheap! on: September 02, 2016, 07:47:38 PM
With negative trust?! Try a little lower. Or better yet see if you can get rid of the negative trust (but I highly doubt that will be happening in the near future).
1936  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Normal price for buying signatures on: September 02, 2016, 01:44:26 AM
Newb? Pretty much nothing. Dust really in the grand scheme of things.

Hero/legendary? A decent signature campaign would pay you 0.06-0.1/ month but the lesser paying campaigns may be even less. This could always change because of the price of bitcoins in the future as well.
1937  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Locking a wallet so I can't withdraw coins on: September 02, 2016, 01:39:09 AM
What you're describing is centralization so no there isn't a wallet like that. If there was I wouldn't suggest using it. Maybe it's just time to be an adult and save some money in a separate wallet? Make up a paper wallet and put it somewhere inconvenient so in order for you to actually spend it you need to do step X Y Z (go to your grandma's house, go in the attic, open a safe, put in a password... whatever it may be) or put it in a safety deposit box so you'd have to be to the bank with your key to withdraw anything.
1938  Economy / Speculation / Re: How Did This Happen? on: September 02, 2016, 01:23:52 AM

Would you mind explaining what KYC/AML regulations are?

Know your customer / anti-money laundering. Basically it means you have to show your ID and where the funds are coming from. There are lots of regulations in the west so getting past them is impossible with legitimate exchanges.
1939  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will there ever be another bubble in Bitcoin? on: September 02, 2016, 12:40:48 AM
There's always going to be speculation on another bubble and of course it's going to happen. It would be very unlikely that we'll ever see a huge spike like when Bitcoins went from worth a few dollars to over $1000 though.
1940  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Is there a wallet where we can have predetermined change addresses? on: September 01, 2016, 11:31:29 PM
So for example I make 20 vanity addresses and they all start with 1bitcoin1, 1bitcoin2, 1bitcoin3. Can you add these into an HD wallet somehow? Or are we able to make the first key so that only vanity addresses are used in the HD wallet?

Does that even make sense?
