1541  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will "Red Envelopes" in china move the price in January 2017? on: December 19, 2016, 05:18:28 PM
Saturday, January 28, 2017 starts a new year in China. It will be a year of the rooster and, as is the custom, there will be gifts of red envelopes containing cash. Last year Chinese bitcoin enthusiasts were giving away envelopes that were actually paper wallets. I wonder if this trend is growing?

Are you Chinese by nationality or culture? Are you or friends giving away "red wallets" this new year? It seems such a natural fit, and it seems that BTC is growing in China. Or am I way off?

I know some Chinese people and they didn't feel like a paper wallet was "lucky" when I spoke about it with them last year. The whole idea is to give physical cash to people (in the older generations anyways) so I know there is some non-believers out there that won't want to give bitcoin paper wallets just for that sole reason. They said it's the same as writing a cheque, it's just not lucky the way cash supposedly is.
1542  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Idea] SmS type Quiz game for Bitcoin. on: December 19, 2016, 05:11:58 PM
What I like the most about this approach would be the "educational" angle. We need services and applications that stimulate Bitcoin

awareness and research into the topic. A normal quiz will not attract attention, but a quiz linked to possible reward, will most definitely

attract people to this kind of service. The underage thing will not be a problem, because Bitcoin is pseudo-anonymous and a quiz is not

defined as gambling. {not in my country}

The good idea with this too is the dumb account farmers that don't understand the basics of bitcoin (but are just here to spam) won't have a high chance of winning anything. You'll actually have to know what you're talking about in order to have a great chance at winning.

Now I'm not familiar with sms quizzes (assuming they already exist) but is this similar to that system that allows people to vote via sms? I remember using that in class presentations to wow the dinosaur teachers. Would the phone numbers be public or would you choose some sort of screen name for your number? Or could you just use an app to create a phone number and use that (because I wouldn't want my real phone number out there)?

Oh and if there is a legality issue you could always make it a sweepstakes where they have to answer an easy math problem to win the money ( like 20(2+7)=? )
1543  Economy / Services / Re: [HIRING] Make 3 Minutes of Unique Music and get paid! on: December 19, 2016, 03:43:13 AM

DISCLAIMER:

If i feel like the music is not good enough for my use, i will kindly reject it.

So I spend an hour or two coming up with a decent song hoping for a measly $2 and you may reject it if you don't like it? Sounds awful. Tell us what you're looking for specificly. Piano solo? Properly arranged duets? Classical? Rock? Dubsteb? Saying you need music is too vague. At the very least say what you're using it for to give a rough idea.
1544  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Miner reward = 0.01√difficulty on: December 19, 2016, 03:38:55 AM

Also late-comers just have to deal with it; it's like everything. You find it early, take a risk, get rewarded sometimes and lose out others.

Find something new and get involved with it, then get rewarded. It's not supposed to be fair for everyone. First person to a new cache of resources gets rewarded appropriately.

In a real world scenario, a small number of people that gets to the cache of resources will be raided by a much larger group and have their resources taken away from them. Which is what I'm proposing here. The majority of miners would agree to increase miner reward and thus "raid" your cache of resources.

That's what happened with the continent of america. Just because a small group of people claimed all the land (the "indians"), means nothing when the larger and more powerful group (europeans) comes and takes it away by force. Which is what should happen with bitcoin.

That's a horrible analogy. We should rape and pillage so we all get an even amount of bitcoins instead of some early adopters getting any benefit. It seems like the complete opposite of what bitcoin is about, so good luck with this altcoin. May I suggest a name? Infinite supply Indian-hating shitcoin, or isis for short. I think it'll do great/s.
1545  Economy / Goods / Re: Testing the water. WTS (Maybe) My Soul. on: December 19, 2016, 03:27:55 AM
I got the half soul today (Yes I recieve mail on Saturdays. Who the hell are you, the mail police?!).

Obviously a fake. It was just a farmed soul. Most likely a rat or some other small rodent (maybe a capybara?) I sent it back. No tracking though. It should be there in the next 1-5months.

I suggest using PayPal or maybe a shitcoin, let's say... oh what the hell, Ripple. No, vertcoin. Ah any old shitcoin will do. That way at least if he doesn't refund you you didn't spend anything worth any value Smiley.

 Grin

Funny post but I never sent you half my soul and I still have 100% of my soul available for sale. Im willing to let you make a group-buy though if you want and then you and everyone in the group can have a fair share of this extremely valuable and desired soul. Obviously im willing to use escrow also.

Wait, if I didn't get yours then whose was it? Watch out guys. This is obviously a hot ticket item. He already has people ripping off his username on Skype. Glad I dodged that one phew
1546  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Amazon Gift Card Balances 70% (LEGIT FUNDS) on: December 19, 2016, 01:47:47 AM
So we just send you the ups label for you to send the book???

Ya this is confusing. Could you write out the steps of exactly what you would need us to do? I may be interested but it's just a little garbled in my mind at the moment.

All those FUDsters that like to gather on this subforum saying we would never reach 400, then 500, then 600... they keep getting proven wrong, they stay poor while we become rich

#winningteam

Well I remember all those Shills that were saying Bitcoin will never fall under $600 , $500 , $400  ever again.    It did and can again!

The thing is, any idiot with half a brain can spew out "bitcoin is going to go up / down" but no one here ever has a good reason why. We all hope it goes up (except the shills that sold a long time ago but for some weird reason stick around. kwukduck I'm looking at you) but there are too many permabears and permabulls on this forum. It's a currency that fluctuates 10% at the drop of a hat. It's not something a permabull or permabear can relate to so they live in a fantasy would where everything is great/horrible.

On that note, bitcoins are going to $100,000 by Christmas. I feel it in my trick knee, and my horoscope said so. We'll it said "something good will happen to you soon-ish kinda maybe" so that's pretty clear what it means. Bitcoins are going to the mooooon!
1549  Economy / Economics / Re: How a cashless society could kill Bitcoin. on: December 17, 2016, 05:43:17 PM
Bitcoins are only doomed if Amazon doesn't accept them? I mean that's what your post comes down to. You do realize that they don't accept bitcoins right? So ... What is a possibility for you is actually a reality.

You don't need to buy bitcoins. They're money. You can earn them like how you would with any other currency. Just because one business doesn't accept that currency doesn't mean it's dead. Let's assume Canada declared bitcoins are illegal and nowhere can accept them. Ok, we'll I still have some, and they're still worth $1050CAD as of today (assuming the market didn't drop) and I see other Canadians on here that I'm sure still have bitcoins and will accept them, it still has value.

Just because something isn't mainstream doesn't mean it's going to die. Just because something is illegal doesn't mean it's going to die. How many people do you know that own a Tesla? Same here, not a single person. Are they dead? Far from it. Do you have cocaine in your area of the world? I can pretty much assume it's illegal everywhere, yet it still has value (pretty high value actually). So the reasoning for your post isn't great.

Think of this now. Your coked out friend just heard that they now live in a cashless society. He needs a fix. He doesn't have cash because it doesn't exist. How should he buy his cocaine? Hmmmm.... What could he use... Oh ya, his outlawed bitcoins! Because that's what everyone else is using! Either that or a shitcoin like potcoin (rofl! Cocaine-coin anyone!?).

There's always going to be a market for bitcoin whether it's big or small. So get used fo it hanging around. Maybe next time post this from your main account instead of a shill so we can try to take it more seriously.
1550  Economy / Reputation / Re: This retard repeatedly bids in auctions just to get paid from his yobit sig. on: December 17, 2016, 05:24:22 PM
I'd say make it a requirement to escrow funds before you big but that's just a huge pain in the ass and really all you'll do is punish others and lose customers.
Request a signed message from an address that has enough funds - that should be simple enough. I don't think it will take too much time out of people trying to bid, and it does resolve the issue of false bidders (unless they actually do have the funds and are unwilling to purchase it, which in that case would result in some punishment)

Well that's what I was thinking but I can see people have asked him to sign messages with the amounts available already. If he choses to just bid, has the money but never pays then you're S.O.L., I guess you could choose case by case.

My question though is, does yobit really pay for a 2 or 3 character post? If so, that's the real issue here. If he knew he wouldn't get paid to post then he'd never make a fake bid in the first place (unless he was just trying to jump the bid on someone...).

1552  Economy / Services / Re: Facebook job : Paying bitcoin for a little task ! on: December 17, 2016, 01:43:32 PM
A few cents? Ugh. Definitely too low. Maybe 0.001 and you'd have some interest. I have to create a new email, then a Facebook account, then report this. It's just too arduous of a task for a few cents.
1553  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ☠ Project in dev: mmorpg sci-fi fantasy adventure game w/ pvp ☠ on: December 17, 2016, 01:41:18 PM

I have been playing it on and off for 16 years... and when I started it was only text. They have a huge following and many of the players are

from Finland. The game is VERY addictive and I clocked many YEARS on that game.  Roll Eyes I do not know if people will find these games

interesting, but through the MudClient most of the actions are automated. This is the site ---> https://www.bat.org/ and here are some info

about the game ---> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BatMUD

Very cool, thanks, I spent some time last night checking it out. There's a lot of active muds out there, so it's been interesting checking them out.

You're right, this isn't a "mass appeal" game, it's very much built towards a niche. I kind of modeled it towards a game people may wander out and wander back in over time. Some of the concepts for it also came from sitting in chat at dice game sites, like just-dice. While it's not a gambling game, it's something to do while chatting and vice versa. There's also 4.6 bitcoins in treasure sitting in the game, which will grow, so that may bring some people in too.

Definitely having these rewards will reel people in.

"What? A game where I can earn real money? Why wouldn't I play?"

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this. Great idea.

1555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Kill The Income Tax on: December 17, 2016, 01:21:31 PM
The wealthy already avoid many taxes. I don't think Bitcoin will make that much difference in tax avoidance. Taxes will still be collected on purchases at regular business and possibly when cashing out Bitcoin.

Wtf lol. Where do you live that doesn't have sales tax? This is about income tax. The government gets you coming and going. You made $30,000? I'll take 7. Now of that $23,000 you'll pay 13% tax on everything so it's really only worth ~$20,354. No wonder if rich people avoid taxes they get richer. Us poor bastards would save $10,000 a year!!!

1557  Economy / Goods / Re: Testing the water. WTS (Maybe) My Soul. on: December 17, 2016, 04:26:31 AM
No takes I see. Ok I'll just have to wait it out. I dont care if it takes years. One day some bad man with a bad soul will need mine to get into heaven and he'll pay dearly. 666.66666666BTC is cheap compared to what it will cost in a few years from now.

Enough bullshit! You send half of the soul to me FIRST, then if it checks out I'll pay you half and so on. Deal? Don't try and screw me on this. That last soul I bought was worthless. (Screw you Tara Reid you soulless bitch).
1558  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Have you ever exchanged BTC face to face? on: December 17, 2016, 03:41:19 AM
I did.  It was with my mamma,  though.  Ain't no one else I rilly know who usin' it at present.  I mean no one wit a real live face.  Wish I lived in nigeria or some other African country cause it looks like lots o' folks use it there.

You have the worst fake black vernacular that I've ever witnessed. You must be a young white Jewish guy from the Bronx. I used to work in Oakland and have never heard anyone talk like you. Give up the Aunt Jemima act.

Don't exchange Bitcoin face to face because it's dangerous.

Lololololol!! Holy crap aunt Jemima used to be fat! I knew she got skinnier over the years but wow! She needs to lay off the syrup!

I've never used bitcoins irl. I ask all the time but nowhere that I shop accepts them. I've given up at the grocery store completely. They say only I ever asked.

One of Bitcoin's biggest supporters, Clif High, says Bitcoin is going to be the future of the financial world.

Have you guys ever heard of him?

He makes some very interesting points about Bitcoin on his YouTube channel.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqXZf0F4GLSX1QXBUgPXhqg

What do you guys think?

actually I have not heard about this guy, but it is nice if he announce those points to public. it means that some people will probably be interested in bitcoin. and the video is good to be shown to newbies in order to explain them about bitcoin in-depth.

Yup, never heard of him in my life. Why can't someone really famous just start talking about bitcoins like it's normal ffs? Come on guys ffs!! I thought someone was talking about how Ashton kutcher or however his name is spelled was into bitcoins.
