361  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: *** GHash.IO mining pool official page *** on: March 04, 2015, 09:36:05 PM
There something going on with Ghash today? All my miners all of a sudden just disconnected from the pool and won't re-connect. I logged into the pool page and none of my workers are hashing. Someone needs to look into this.
I've tried to reset my hardware and tried both URL's.
362  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 03, 2015, 11:46:33 PM
Maybe they meant to say 500 hour?

Smiley)))))

any more problems with the aluminium corrosion?

Bitmainwarranty always replaced my bad pumps quickly. Even gave me an extra one just in case, so I cannot complain about the warranty service.
363  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 03, 2015, 09:21:54 AM
Well my last Syscooling pump died on me yesterday. I knew it would happen, since I've went through about 5 of them myself. I've switched over to that one from Ebay, which has been working fine. New hoses, a couple kill coils and feser one coolant I "should" be good for a while. I don't know how 50000 rated pumps die so quickly? Maybe they meant to say 500 hour?

364  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 03, 2015, 09:15:37 AM
hahaha bitmain needs to do alot of things Smiley understatement of the year
I would love to see them put out a water cooled S5 should be branded C2

Biggest thing bitmain has to do is straighten out their firmware issues

And why retire the S3 already when thats whats inside the C1 4 S3 boards

Its bad to retire a product before people have ROI on it

I think the problem is amount of trouble it can be.  If you look here it's full of troubles (In my opinion it is the kit that caused this, specifically pumps).   I don't see there being a C2.

I had to "mod" mine to get stability.  I switched to a molex to 3 pin adapter.   With this it does not try to take power from your PCI-e cables or from miner.   I also bought a pump on ebay.  That pump is still working great on two of them.

But that ebay pump is too small to run the S5 kit.
365  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain tech support and warranty on: March 03, 2015, 09:11:09 AM
I've been eyeing an S5 and it's nice to know the company is trying to improve its service and not just its product.

Systems and teams are being implemented all over the place. Its not easy growing from 0 to $XXM in a year.

But they run out of hardware too quickly. If they want to stay a certain size and not grow with the industry, then they will always have those fire sales and the users that get to buy the hardware were just lucky to be logged in at the time. If they are making an S6 or even another model, would be nice for at least an update or blog post.

From the horse's mouth, not from you Dogie.
366  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: March 03, 2015, 09:01:50 AM
8U at 10kw 16-20TH would be perfect for me as well. I would look to run 1 or 2 of a unit at that size.

I disagree!

8U at 10kW and 50TH/s would be perfect!

Be nice, but I'd hate to have to pay shipping. Once you get up to those sizes it turns into commercial shipping which is terribly expensive. It almost makes sense not to even buy hardware and just buy bitcoin. I've installed a few 8U and larger size servers and when full can weigh several hundred pounds. Just tack on $900-$1200 for shipping.
367  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: March 03, 2015, 08:53:16 AM
Spondoolie, you know just like everyone else a home user can't buy in bulk, and if that's all you are going to do in the future then the single consumer is off your marketing list. You for some reason just don't want to verbally say it. It is  your company to do with what you want, but bulk sales to just a few investment groups isn't going to help bitcoin in my opinion.

If an SP100 comes out thats ~8U, 10kW, 16TH I would be able to operate 1-2 of them. Its definitely not bulk, but it would be a practical size for the serious (ie: >$5000 investment) miner since it reduces on the cost of using multiple controllers and shipping boxes to otherwise ship 3-4 SP3x units

@SP-T: Would be nice to see a clever upgrade path given for old SPT equipment, namely the power supplies. For example, a 750W PSU that could swap out with the 1050W PSU in an underclocked SP10 miner. that 1050W could then be used in newer gear like an SP100.

That was my point I was trying to make before. I don't think they will sell someone just 1 or 2 or 3 or 4. Only bulk, maybe  a min of 15-20 or something. Their business model will be for deep pockets only. %90 can't just spend $20k or more at the drop of a dime. I mean their SP31 that still says in stock has had the same price for quite a while now. I doubt they're even wanting to sell those individually.

368  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.25/GH & 0.51W/GH on: March 03, 2015, 08:45:52 AM
How about new, improved firmware for your S5s?

Our dear member smit1237 issued another custom FW, this time for S5.  Cheesy

It contains a database and some graphs. The database contains info about:

1) Speed of the fans #1 and #2;
2) Hashrate (5s and Avg);
3) Curent temperature of both blades.

The data is being collected to DB (it's a ring database, the depth of data is one year) once once per minute and then being averaged. You are able then to "rewind" the data (on the miner or on another PC) by some manipulations in the script and show to someone (look for youself) the status of S5 at that date. So you can prove/check that the miner you are trying to buy/sell was OK and is OK.

There are also 3 graphs (for the day, for the month and for the year) that you can see by following the link "http://<IP_of_your_S5>/cgi-bin/graph.rrd".

What else? Cgminer v4.9.0, text redactor "nano" are also included.

The firmware itself is here: http://smit1237.asuscomm.com:8080/s5/SD-S5-20150107_cgminer_4.9.0_freq_control_nano_graph.tar.gz

You can flash it in usual way.

Do not forget to send some tips to smit1237 for his enthusiasm.  Wink

I never saw the market so dead. Usually someone is selling something. I really thought we would see more S5's hit the market. Apparently he still has more C1's in stock because you can still buy them. They weren't so "good" when you had to end up replacing all the water cooling parts in 2-3 month's. Just added expense and never to break even with those. No wonder why they're still up for grabs. At 800 watts anyway, who wants em.
369  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Syscooling SC-BC2 Watercooling Kit:Cool your multiple C1 antminers down on: March 02, 2015, 06:31:10 AM
Is there any reviews of this kit?  Videos on Youtube? I'm curious how the back looks (yet, no photos of it anywhere), are there screw holes to add fans to the back?
Yes there are screw holes, you could add fans.

Received the kit today.  You stated there are holes to add fans to the back.  I'm confused, I don't see any.  Please show a picture of what holes you're are referring to, to add fans to the back.  Perhaps you forgot a piece in the set I received and need to send me the additional bracket that's missing?

Looks like they are calling the back what you see as the front Smiley

How can you add fans to the front then?  No holes available to add fans on top of fans already on it then.

You can use 3m double sided tape, which is REALLY adhesive. That would hold a fan on there indefinitely. I wish you the best of luck with that kit. You need a lot of room, tons of fans running on that radiator. Let us know how you work out.
370  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: March 02, 2015, 03:27:13 AM
I know, no rush as i still need to get rid of antminers Grin

In my eyes there are basically two manufactures making hardware. Bitmain and Spondoolie. I've owned KNC, Avalon, Butterfly and others, but right now in the game I think are just these two.

I know Bitmain will eventually come out with more home mining solutions for a little while more, but it sounds like Spondoolie is only out to cater bulk orders and more commercial going forward. Is that safe to say? I think the SP20 was just a field test to see how it would work out. I think the only form factors we will be seeing from Spondoolie will be rack mountable only.

What this industry needs to do is follow what is working, the computer industry. Make a miner using a 2U form factor (or larger)  and have multiple blades in it where you can easily remove/replace/upgrade. Who wants to keep buying these monster machines when all you need is an upgraded blade. Would keep costs down, secure the company customer loyalty since their blades will only fit in their cases. Of course new software and controller boards need to be made to be able to handle many different configurations. Isn't everyone tired of buying whole entire rigs when you really don't need to?

I can just imagine myself walking into the data center, powering off my 10TH 2U Spondoolie rig, remove one of the 1TH blades and insert the new 3TH blade that just came out on the market. Can basically go from 10TH to 30TH by just swapping some blades. We don't need to keep shipping these monster 2U's all over the world. They take up to much space and there has to be some good R&D out there to make something like this happen, no?

This also would give everyone a price point they can afford. Not everyone can't buy the latest  and greatest new stuff that comes out. And course power draw would be calculated on what blades you have in the box. Maybe three PSU's. 2 to handle 30TH and one for backup.

Yes, I miss a lot since most of it is technical and just getting the time to catch up on some threads takes forever. The party is over folks. Spondoolie said it themselves they are only interested in large/bulk/farm type business model going forward. We the consumer's were a big part in making that happen. It is sad to see a good manufacture doesn't want to cater to the whole market. Just deep pockets now. Capitalism at it's best. Wish everyone luck. I think bitcoin peaked anyway. I doubt we will ever see $500 again. Adios.

371  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Can use any address to receive? on: March 01, 2015, 11:57:34 PM
Well, after the re-build and re-scan the transaction finally showed up.

Why wouldn't it show up right away? The connection is live and the Armory was online. I'm just comparing it to how I usually see it from the previous version where it would instantly pop up.

372  Bitcoin / Armory / Can use any address to receive? on: March 01, 2015, 11:27:46 PM
I picked out one of my addresses that was in my wallet properties and gave it to someone to make a payment to me. I see the payment on BlockChain with 2 confirmations but don't see it in my Armory. Usually when I made a payment to my Armory it would show up right away, even without any confirmations. I want to tell the user that I received the bitcoin, but I can't see it in my Armory. Only BlockChain. Anyone know what to do at this point. Right now I'm doing a re-scan with Armory to see if it picks it up. I tripled checked the address and it is in my list of bitcoin addresses. As I was told I could use any address in my wallet.

373  Bitcoin / Armory / BDM error? on: March 01, 2015, 07:56:31 PM
I upgraded the bitcoin engine to the latest and armory also. I selected to re-scan everything when it asked me when I started the Armory. The next day I ran Armory and kept getting this BDM error indicating it needs to scan the DB again if it keeps happening. Sure enough I had to re-scan again. Has anyone come into this problem?

So would two of these high static fans in a push/pull be sufficient enough to keep an S5 cool?

http://www.corsair.com/en/air-series-sp120-high-performance-edition-high-static-pressure-120mm-fan

I have heard these fans, even the quiet model one are great fans for cooling heatsinks.

Yes, its what I recommend.

I understand with these fans an S5 will run quiet and cool.  Will the stock fans run equally cool albeit louder?

Stock will likely still be cooler as its just a crazy amount of cooling. The advantage of SP120s is they are much quieter while still keeping the S5 in an acceptable temp range at most ambient temps.

So would you use 2 SP120's in a push-pull?
I currently run an s5 with 2 Noctua NF-F12 iPPC 3000rpm fans in push-pull, would the SP120s provide better performance?

That's my recommendation. NF-F12s will run cooler but will be quite a bit louder.

Dogie, you just recommended the SP120's just a couple pages back. I don't get it?

But then again the user netcoingeek indicated two different fans completely and keeping temps 60-62. We need real world environment to see which fans really work before spending any money on them. Is anyone here currently using the Corsair high pressure static fans now? Also, are there screw holes on the other end of the box to install a fan and is there an extra fan connector inside the miner to connect to? Is it a PWM connector that controls the fan?

I'm with Nate (nwools), i've used his multiminer software since the very first release and love it and i'm running just about every brand of miner there is to be had from the old block erupters to the new Antminers and SP's

I'm just not use to it and rushed through the setup. I need to give it another try and spend some time with it.

380  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: February 27, 2015, 07:55:39 AM
So my SP10 just arrived (ordered from Ebay) and so far it's made me decide not to buy anything from the website again. The case is banged up to hell to the point that the power supply wouldn't even slide out. The unit was not well protected even in the cardboard box... So does anyone have any tips for opening up an sp10? I'm going to take the casing and see if I can bend the dents out.
The boxes aren't really meant for double/multiple shipping times. After the first shipment the box usually gets banged up a little but not much, but it weakens the packaging enough for the next shipment to just fall apart. If it came by pallet originally you get 1 extra shipment out of it usually. I wouldn't buy a SP10 in original packaging I would want it / make sure its wrapped in bubble wrap and potentially a new box.

The only stuff that works is those molds they make. Like a really tough styrofoam feel but a lot more dense. That's the best for packaging heavy items. And then you need a triple layer cardboard box so the box itself doesn't fall apart. Hard to ship stuff some times.
