961  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [6000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+Orphan+NMC, Stratum, Private Servers on: March 22, 2014, 01:38:03 PM
Since I moved to another pool it has been slightly better, (only talking approx 580Ghg/s) not much but I'm also not giving out a fee so that makes it a little more sweeter. Please don't accuse me of being a pool hop er. I've used the Guild since I owned my hardware and never switched but everyone has a breaking point. I'm sure lady luck will part with me soon.
962  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcointa.lk, the Bitcointalk community with a 2014 forum software on: March 20, 2014, 04:41:01 AM
I'm using the new software now, and I feel like I'm back at 2014 instead of 2005. What a difference in just navigating and reading. I can read twice as much within the same time it took me on the "old" site by utilizing the features and options here. Very good job and I really hope this stays up. The operators at bitcointalk should at least consider this temporarily and pay you for your work so far. By all means, they have enough money. Millions.

No, it is not to much money!
I'll give you all the bitcoin you need, but I want your 18 year old sister for my exclusive use to do with whatever I want to while you pay me back. Just PM me so you can deliver her to me. Make sure you explain to her I have the right to do anything I want....because of your deal.

964  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcointa.lk, my alternative to Bitcointalk.org on: March 20, 2014, 04:11:17 AM
I dont really see what the point is because we can simply just come and post here...

Interesting idea anyways.

Don't see the point? You want to keep using several years old SMF version with a lack a features you could barely now call this software a bulletin board to begin with. New forum software has nice features, color, a much better user experience then you'll get here.
965  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for someone to create/modify software for this forum [5500+ BTC] on: March 20, 2014, 04:08:03 AM
Why is this thread still open?
To remember me that after having offered paid and free help for converting Bitcointalk.org i ended up creating my own alternative.

It's in my signature.

And why is it better?

Why is it better? Dude, they are using SMF 1 here and have had hundreds of opportunities to really turn this place into a real community rather then the same old message board. It is outdated by years, has many security holes, and certainly needs a huge makeover. Just a quick look at the sample forum in the next message looks 10000 times better then this place. The site operator(s) got a little to stuck on holding all that bitcoin. They just can't let it go. By now we could of had the best personal community experience around with a custom software written only for here. Apparently it doesn't look like that will happen and I would LOVE to know the reasoning behind it.

Pretty soon we'll see products advertised years in advance and yet people will still pre-order them. Stop feeding the monster people! Just use your head and buy bitcoin outright. Certainly saves a whole lotta of time and energy.
967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 19, 2014, 03:55:52 PM
Looks like scrypt asics are on the horizon, new section appeared on the website

https://www.kncminer.com/categories/litecoin-mining-hardware

Quote
In this catergory you will find our litecoin mining products. The devices are being designed and built by the same tream who brought you the first 28nm Bitcoin mining hardware.

Our products have progressed past the RTL stage of devlopement and will be launched for sale very soon.

That's so messed up. They are selling litecoin rigs and don't accept litecoin as a payment. Man, talking about trying to get to the market before anyone else. That's pretty rude actually.
968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 19, 2014, 03:48:20 PM
I'm running 2 THASH of Ants and my house is freaking loud and HOT! With the summer coming I don't know what the heck I'm going to do.

Sell them.  I'll take them off your hands for the current S1 price minus 10% since they're used.

This is a problem LOTS of people aren't expecting. While the greedy virus has taken a hold they've purchased all this hardware and now are draining fossil fuels at an alarming rate while heating their house too. When summer starts to roll around things will get interesting. Buying a couple of floor fans at Walmart isn't going to help with the new hardware. While much more efficient, you still need multiple power supplies and more cooling fans all which throw off a lot of heat. Just from having an upgraded October rig I had to turn off the heat vent in the room where it is running. And it has been heating that entire room for the whole winter now. I can't imagine how some of you will keep your new gear cool, especially without some kind of commercial cooling. The ambient temperature will just be too high.

I want picture of all fires.

if they give 3000GH to me hosted i'll be happy, 13btc/3000 = 0.00434btc per GH

if they give 4000GH to me hosted i'll be even happier 13btc/4000 = 0.00325 per GH

based on a pretty static 25% increase, depending when delivered they may still be profitable. If it is in the next 2 weeks they could do quite well at 3THPS.

the last few difficult changes have struggled to meet 25% apart from once.

Are all the electrical requirements computed in here? One Neptune will require I think two high end 1200 watt power supplies which are quite expensive. Slap on another $500 for those, right?
970  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [6000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+Orphan+NMC, Stratum, Private Servers on: March 19, 2014, 01:43:56 PM

Hi OS2sam.  Thanks for the replies in advance.
I should've mentioned that.  They're all on separate workers so I can troubleshoot them easier when one goes down.  So for now I'll set them to a diff. level of 128.  Correct?

Would it be better if I have them all mining with one worker?
PS:  (I was an OS/2 v1.2 guy back in the early 90's myself).

... I do agree that each miner on it's own worker is an easier way to find out which ones are not performing to their peak so that's more of an ease-of-use/preference kind of decision.  I do think that you might make slightly more running them all on one worker though...

Hi BRADLEYPLOOF. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try that soon.
As for miners I started with a few block erupters, which I still have, then added three 5gh/s BFL cubes, then had a great income tax return (busted my butt for it last year) & bought a few Antminers. I'm going BTC crazy. It's like crack to me, (not that I've tried it.) You'll get there.
Thanks for the input.
Suzukii, don't ask questions too much...or god don't ask the same questions twice if you forget. The entitlement brown nosers will come out of the woodwork (the ones who know it all) and try to belittle you so they can make themselves feel better. You have been warned!

merv, they already said a month ago they wouldn't sell upgrade modules anymore.

This was the last comment on the KnC forums on Feb. 5th from Kurt about modules....

Quote
I see a lot of questions regarding upgrade modules. We are still looking at the possibility of releasing more upgrade cards for sale. However, our management team are still yet to decide the details of this. As soon as we have an update, we will let you all know.

http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/resellers-affilicates/general-questions/29377-plan-b/page3 Post #34

Any talk from KNC regarding releasing modules or the possibility of releasing modules is solely a marketing tactic to keep a few people on the fence about where they spend their money. They know %100 they won't be releasing any modules but since they hate seeing people buying other companies hardware they have to try something. Then when it is time to make a statement modules will not be released there will be a product/plan for sale. Seriously, do you think KNC would ever release upgrade modules at this time? You would need 50 of them to make a bitcoin.

And I think that is a huge problem. Gauging  bitcoin on how many wallets are opened on blockchain is the worst. Those wallets are all there just ready for someone to steal them. Anyone with an email address/computer can create a wallet on blockchain. They can create 10 wallets per day if they wanted to. And they could be 10 years old. That really doesn't mean anything.

1. Over 90% of these wallets have been created in the last 12 months
2. Why would anybody bother to create 10 blockchain wallets? Each blockchain wallet allows for multiple addresses so multiple wallets serve no purpose.
3. Hacking a blockchain wallet with 2FA is almost impossible.
3. If you can think of a better measure of  btc adoption, do say .....

Creating hundreds of blockchain wallets to make it look like bitcoin users are signing up everyday. Using that tactic on impressionable people like yourself solidifies my thinking. Now you think bitcoin is more popular because lots of wallets have been created when it all could of been someone with a fancy script creating wallets to pump up the market. People have their purposes. Maybe it is a CEO of another exchange getting ready to steal everyone's bitcoin and he needs to spread all that bitcoin over a large amount of wallets.

Better off these days just buying a bunch of bitcoin and storing them. All the shit you gotta go through to mine new rigs these days. And the newest stuff you have to re-wire your house and put in extra cooling. Just gets ugly.

OP: registered april 2012. still doesn't know how computer security or bitcoin works.

Anyone that leaves a bitcoin tip jar in their signature is gay and under the age of 22.

You're are kids, playing on the computer "thinking" you know what you are doing.

Target got hacked and millions of users' data stolen, mostly including credit card information. Yet Target continues to be strong, and the credit card industry continues to be strong.

Bitcoin is certainly strong enough to withstand a few hackers.

Ummm, Target isn't in BETA and neither is the credit card industry. When shit gets stolen from you, you actually get it back. Try getting your bitcoin back when it is stolen from you.

I'm mining with 2Th/s
and no blocks in the last 5 shifts whats going on !!!!!!!!!!!

I have had bad luck before but this is very strange

The current network hash rate is about 1000 times what you've got and the difficulty is now ridiculous, so not having any blocks with 2TH is nothing to cry about.  You could be like me and mine for shares because you couldn't afford a 2Th unit and never in your entire mining career hit a block.  I figure anything is better than nothing and at this point the only point to mining is the fun of it.  There will be no way to make a profit unless you're a pool operator, like Eleutheria,  or you're selling mining equipment.  Those are THE only two ways to break even or make profit within the mining aspect of bitcoin.  If you want to make bitcoin, make something that people are willing to pay bitcoin for and sell that shit.

I'm going to be forced to switch to Eligius because my reward is so little these days. Not like I wanna go but no choice these days. And I read all over "Much more to come - please be patient". Yea, been a year bud. How much more patient?
I know, I know, you'll all hate to see me go.

Anyone with an email address/computer can create a wallet on blockchain. They can create 10 wallets per day if they wanted to. And they could be 10 years old. That really doesn't mean anything. When so many people put all their eggs in the basket they subconsciously filter out all the negative news and downfalls bitcoin has. Their ears and eyes only read the positive content because if it fails, they'll fail and lose all their assets. That's when you become delusional. I've read in some threads some people losing thousands of dollars because of Mt.Gox meltdown and these people were still cheerful and happy about bitcoin. Once the delusion sets in, you need several years in a padded room to get your mind back.

Let's make a bet. I bet that bitcoin (even when you say the Internet compresses time) will stay in BETA for at least 6 more years. Hell, I don't think it will ever get out of BETA...but I can't do a bet on something that won't ever happen. Bitcoin is 5 years old. In computer years, that's quite old. I guess there are always those BETA FOREVER projects.
Please post a guide on how to steal ready to steal wallets.

Post a guide on how to steal bitcoins? You living under a rock or something? Read a little on the forums and you'll see plenty of thread about bitcoin being stolen from online accounts. I also never said I know how to do it. If you want to go steal other people's bitcoin then go find out yourself and earn it.
