Eligius blows. Pay the fee and use The Guild. Nothing but bliss and payouts like clock work.

Why does Eligius blow? Just wondering its been better then the guild for me.

Because I think the payout system there blows and the stats/info you get back aren't nearly as informative as The Guild's.  I also like the manual payout feature which Eligius does not have. I've had good hash rate, but trying to get paid was another issue. So I went to the Guild and been paying fees ever since. Their dashboard and informative charts are at my finger tips and very clean and easily read.
1162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 24, 2013, 06:33:05 PM
Are we sure there isn't a placebo affect going on here with this unofficial firmware? I read one dude had to go back to the older version cause it was worse. Then others say hash rate is up. Maybe just because of the reboot? I'm using .99 firmware and rock steady on 561Gh/sec. It hasn't moved from there since I changed my power supply to the Corsair RM1000. I use to use the RM850, but that didn't have 4 PCI-E connections. The RM1000 has I think 6 of them. And of course it is silent. I'd love to keep mining but this damn bitcoin crash is driving me nuts. I do call it a crash since it was over $1000 not too long ago. Getting tired of seeing $650, either go up or down damn it!

Crash  Huh

When I bought my miners the price was $150 and I made plans to ROI in 6 months.
$1000 was too good to be true. $600 is fu**ing awesome. $300 would be great.

+1

I had similar estimates when I bought my Jupiter back in June

All depends on your perspective I guess. If you never had any dealing with bitcoin and weren't involved financially and saw one day it was $1200 and then two weeks later it was $600, that would be a crash. I always forget how much bitcoin was when I bought my October miner. I guess I'm just spoiled cashing on when it was $1000.
1163  Bitcoin / Armory / Transaction fee... on: December 24, 2013, 06:30:40 PM
I was using a transaction fee of .005 since I started using bitcoin. That was when it was $15 / USD. Now that bitcoin is over $500 and was at $1000, can we lower our transaction fee right? For someone that does a lot of transactions that fee starts to add up to a lot. What is the lowest fee we can use?

I will be optimistic and say that Neptune will be 5TH/s.
For 0.10BTC a day we need a difficulty of 25 billion.
25 billion difficulty = 179PH/s = 35800 Neptunes.

With batches of 1200 that seems highly unlikely even with all the competition around.

I wouldn't count on Neptunes being 5 TH/s. Cooling that beast would be crazy.

I wouldn't count on HashFast not shipping. And Cointerra not shipping. And Black Arrow not shipping. And BitMine not shipping. And BFL not ship...wait, you can count on BFL not shipping.

If hashing power is increased too much some people won't even be able to turn them on because of power consumption.

The shipping cost to us will need to be paid by customer and we will pay for the shipping cost back. Please declare value as 1000 US dollar."

I'm back! Briefly. Who could resist these developments?  Grin

I refer everyone to my post yesterday.

I've been proven right before and I will be again. I'm confident, based on past performance and the attitude of greed and feeling no obligations towards their customers that is now plainly obvious, that this time round KNC's burning of it's customers is going to be epic. They get to spend your money, so it will be you that gets burned.

All the clues are their, the cracks in the foundation.

How correct was I? Just one day later it comes out what total scum knc are.

I said knc were another sleazy asic company and they prove it beyond doubt today. This is their t&c's:

Quote
Any return cost will be charged to the Purchaser, unless the return has been subject to the prior approval of KnCMiner.

They have approved/authorised the return but insist bobsag pays and commit a criminal offence by lying about how much it costs - to save them money! That's just plain GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDD. And total criminality. And shows no sense of obligation to their customers who funded them with millions. It's disgusting behaviour, from a disgusting company.

And I see shillorama's posted here a number of times since bob's post and doesn't even respond, pretends nothing happened. What a bunch of fucking criminal crooks knc are turning out to be.

And now they are hocking their $13 garbage for $10k? https://www.kncminer.com/products/neptune-second-batch
$ 9,995.00

You paid ... $13k... now it's 10k, because no one wants garbage from a bunch of crooks that will be totally useless when it arrives (faulty) in 6 months time  Grin

KNC - they are such a "good" and "reliable" company Cry

Can't wait for their January sale, where they will sell bobsag's broken $1000 machine to you for $6000!

Good luck to all you loyal knc customers who ordered a knobtune. You really are going to need it.

Too all you who with the sense NOT to order again from the money lovin' criminals - happy hashing in 2014!

I'm real confused on the price. Difficulty has gone up, BTC has dropped and they are listing the Neptune at the same price as when they first listed it? Some of us got screwed when they lowered the price on the Saturn's in the beginning because they had to. This same situation should apply here also?
1169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 24, 2013, 03:17:35 PM
Can anybody link step-by-step instructions how to upgrade cgminer to the latest version on Jupiters?

Chill a few about to share the latest firmware with the latest CGMiner binary 3.9.0. compiled within as well as a couple of bug fixes.

Hold tight a few minutes...

Note: The problems addressed have been observed to manifest largely with the Eligius pool, however we can't say for definite it is exclusively associated with that pool, but the settings within Eligius previously compounded the issue. So expect to see a drop in HW error rate.

I will drop it in this thread, but don't currently have access to the site to update the main page, no doubt Sam will do that when he has an opportunity, but I have a flight to catch. V and I just want you to have this to play with sooner, than later...

In any case as always keep us abreast of what you observe and constructive feedback is always welcome! Tongue

Merry Xmas, God Jul, Joyeux Noel, Feliz Navidad, Fröhliche Weihnachten, Sheng Dan Kuai Le, S rozhdyestvom Hristovym! etc...sorry if i've missed anyone out I could be here all night otherwise, you get the idea Grin

Marry xmas Smiley
I have already prepared my red xmas outfit  Grin

I know we have some nerds here, but man! So when did KNC start handing out free t-shirts? I never got one. Only certain customer's?
1170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 24, 2013, 03:05:50 PM
Out of 6 nov jupiters, I now have 3 dead moduals, and a completely dead Jupiter. RMA is pretty fast... but Ill be down almost $1k in shipping by the time this is done. Seriously thinking about just chaging back the dead one... Not worth it after 2 weeks dead then another 3 weeks in RMA.

They make you pay for shipping?

$100 per module back to sweden for each, then they want me to ship the entire Jupiter back that wont work. I don't even have RMA numbers for the last module yet.

That's strange, they gave me a paid-for shipping label sent with the RMA number when I got mine. Let us know if they do the same when you get your RMA #.

I have the RMA numbers for 1 module, and the entire Jupiter. Neither was provided with a label, and both asked me to pay for it and mark the customs down.

Even now, a multi-million dollar company with profits and large bank accounts can't pay for shipping on faulty hardware? So basically you'll just lose money this year.

So KNC announces they will sell Jupiters again and tell us to have our coin ready, THEN they start pre-orders for Neptune again BEFORE we hear anything about the Jupiters. They even said "So keep some coins handy as we expect them to go quick" in their newsletter. So they were basically pumping people to hold coin for their Neptune, not the Jupiter. That's pretty messed up. Why can't companies just come out and say what they mean?

Guys, I need you help with the weirdest problem:

Since yesterday my miners have started to disappear from my local network all of a sudden and that happens too often now.

All my miners are connected to a TP-Link TL-SF1008D 8-Port 10/100Mbps Unmanaged Desktop Switch, which is then connected to my router Technicolor TG582n (given by ISP):

When the problems happens the blinking light at the back of the router, where the switch is connected has gone off, yet the all 7 lights (6 miners + incoming cable) are ON on the switch.

Until yesterday I wasn't sure what is the problem, but now I know: when I unplug the switch from the router and plug it back in = they appear back in the network.

Additionally this morning my own PC reported network conflict: some other machine on the network got its IP too, which never happened.
+ I have setup the DHCP table manually. The 101 to 106 are the miners. Before it said state USED and now it is free, but they are hashing.

Just clicked Apply in each miner Networking Tab and the FREE changed to USED in the DHCP table:

Do you have any experience with bad switches? Any ideas what is causing the issue?

Thank you.

I've had many non managed switches go bad on me. Several in just the last year. No reason or anything, they just stopped working. And I'll just end up replacing them with new ones and everything is back to normal. I have a stack of Netgear hubs all from warranty repair sitting here. I won't use any "fixed" or refurb stuff on my network. Are there any firmware updates for your router?

I never used that bet site, but maybe I'll try it out. I think it actually will hit $100 before it hits $1000 again, if ever.

Wow, that is a stupid thing to say.

Opinions are like assholes bud, everyone has one. Deal with it.

We are all getting ahead of the time here. Neptune information or even a peep about a Neptune won't be heard for at least several months. I know it sucks to be out such a lot of money, then see bitcoin tank, then see the diff rise upon the sky, it just doesn't look good. KNC only advertised the Neptune at this time with a 6 MONTH delivery window because they did not want us to pre-order from any other company. Trust me, they haven't even started working on the Netpune in any fashion at all. After the New Years. And then 4 or 5 months you may see some Neptune info. They'll increase the power requirements so everyone will have to go out and get commercial electrical panels installed in their home and that's not cheap. Once you step on that commercial level, that's when the fun bitcoin mining days are over. It was fun while it lasted and I'll squeeze every dollar out ouf my October Jupiter.
Good luck and happy holidays!

So no updates on the additional Jupiter hardware sales? I guess this will be slotted in for next year then.   Cheesy

Cheers
Yes, the indication I got from Liam as of yesterday, was they had not started making them yet...

hmmm......bitpay only...I guess I will have to break down and get a cell phone (I work nites and help teach a Shotokan karate univ club 4 days a week so cell phone is kinda moot or would be off anwyay) so anyway everyone always has to leave a msg anyway can do it on the land line....and I sleep days...(or they are sleeping) so felt no need...but if I want to use BitPay and such may have to break down and get one ..grrrrr...(such a noob)

on the other hand if they (KNC) are gonna sell jupiters at 2.5k or so for feb delivery...not sure it is worth doing (have 2 neptunes on order).....but again what do I know just saying.

ack! the angst! ack!

Searing

Hahahahaha. 2.5k? I would only wish. With KNC we'll probably see the same price as the original Jupiter. Imagine if they priced the Jupiter at 5k in January? You would NEVER break even.

They are the ones that said keep your bitcoin handy....shit, if we all knew it would have been 3+ weeks out at least I wouldn't have put any bitcoin in my online wallet. Sounded like they were ready to sell right away.

I'm borderline physically disabled,

Wait, you're borderline physically disabled but you installed mains wiring and circuitry at your house? I'm guessing not physicall-bound-disabled. More power to your enthusiasm either way.
I can work ok, as long as it doesn't require me to move my neck too much. It won't turn more than an inch or so either direction. Whiplash from backing into a palm tree at about 3 mph. in Azeka's Plaza in Maui about 2004. Did I mention I have no healthcare? Thanks Obama. If & when we all get rich from our KNC miners, I'm gonna buy me a real, actual healthplan, and someday get it some help...  more incentive for the aggressive attack.

I feel for ya man, have you tried Costa Rica for medical care Huh I got ALOT of dental done there 10 years ago & it was VERY cheap & FANTASTIC work!!!!

They have several good universities there that specialize in all kinds of fields.

Contact these guys to see if they know any doctors that do work in what you need  Wink

http://www.sanchiri.com/

They picked me up at the airport, took me to the lodge, then the dentist for a few days.I went ahead & rented a car, they drive on the correct side of the road there Cheesy

It was a dream vacation to boot!!!!!!!!!

As always do your research & ask as many questions as needed to be sure your going to get the treatment you need.

Best of luck!!!!!!!!!

Serious? You went all the way to Costa Rica right dental work? Are they good at it? I'm terrified of any dentist I have ever went to here in the US. They are all rough on the hands.
1179  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it hit $1000 again? on: December 22, 2013, 08:43:23 PM
Bitcoin is global, and China closing their exchanges is a pretty big deal. It's not some small company voicing their opinion, but an entire government making pro-active changes towards bitcoin. This will set us back big time. People laughed when someone said we may hit $100 before $1000 again, but from what I'm looking at, it could very well possibly hit $100. A terrible low.
1180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 19, 2013, 03:39:31 PM
Wouldn't it be better for existing customers if KnC didn't ship any more hardware till Neptune ?
The november(December) batch just added 3PH to the network.  The October batch added at least 2PH.

Yeah, I would prefer them not to release anything. I hoped those big manufacturers to have some sort of contact with each other, agreeing not to flood the network.

What's the exact terms on which they will make another batch? Also KnC is responsible for more than half of the current network  Shocked ?

As soon as a competitor starts shipping, that's what triggers KNC to sell more miners.
https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-24

What crap. In their news letter there they say will not release any products December, January and February but the next sentence contradicts the first one. They seem to be just covering their ass or really don't know whats going on? Make up your mind will ya!
