1021  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [4700 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+Orphan+NMC, Stratum, Private Servers on: February 10, 2014, 05:55:47 PM
On that note, how long do you believe BTCGuild is guaranteed to be around for ? Another 6yrs at least ?

Hard to say.  It would have to become unprofitable to keep going unless there was another reason for closure (such as legal reasons).  That's barring something unseen, like a legitimate offer to purchase the pool (no offer has ever been made that came remotely close), in which case I wouldn't have control over how long it stays around.

Once all coins are mined then pools are obsolete. To my understanding there is a static amount of bitcoins.
1022  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3600 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+Orphan+NMC, Stratum, Private Servers on: February 10, 2014, 05:49:41 PM
No, my average hash rate has been around 550Gh/sec. Last night I was at .13 24 hour return and this morning I'm down to .08. Did the diff jump last night or someone add some monster hashing power to the network? Pretty soon my Jupiter will be a doorstep. Who wants to buy it?

This question really shouldn't need to be asked every week.  There's a giant *graphical* representation of pool luck which clearly shows a massive deep in the last 24 hours.  It's also spelled out directly under the chart showing you the 24-hour luck.  That % is directly related to how much your earnings will fluctuate.

The ol' luck thing.
Is is spiritual? Divine? Who controls it? The fact is no one really knows what luck is but it just happens. I may get lucky tonight with my girlfriend. Come on, you are getting financially compensated so putting up with a few people like me can't be that bad.

1023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 10, 2014, 05:04:10 PM
People, KNC looks at us only as a source if income and money. They want to suck as much money out of us as possible and really could care less about what we think. Every single decision they make has been in their best interest financially and not for any community. Heck, that's why they got into the business to make money. I'm surprised my Jupiter went from .5 coin a day to today is only .08. And that was only since November. This network is growing so fast, isn't really regulated and can't be stopped like our native banking institutions. I'll be getting ready to turn my Jupiter off soon since what I'm making with it won't even pay for electricity soon. Then take into account the BTC crash we are seeing now it's just compounding the pressure for an explosion at one point. When I woke up this morning to check preev and saw $630 my jaw dropped. I'm thinking we could see a pretty big drop, all the way down to $200 or less pretty soon. Well, maybe a lot of people will buy bitcoin now which would hopefully drive it up a bit?
1024  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it hit $1000 again? on: February 10, 2014, 02:28:09 PM
Tell me almighty teacher will it go back up to $800? $900? I'm ready to buy at a low price and don't know!!!!!! Lowest it has been in a while.

1025  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CampBX...watch out guys, is it gone? on: February 07, 2014, 08:43:28 PM
Your USD (99% chances) isn't going anywhere!

From what is known so far about CampBX, "your USD" is just a number on some website hosted by a guy and his sister, running their business from an apartment in a suburb of Atlanta. They are not a bank, the deposit is not FDIC-insured, they are known to have been ignoring and/or lying to their customers. If you have something to support your optimism please share.

Once I told them I went for the USPS money order route they sent me some other excuse of delays and things will be working soon. They really are holding our money hostage and you can't get it back. I think I'll drive up there with a baseball bat and do some window cleaning.
1026  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3600 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+Orphan+NMC, Stratum, Private Servers on: February 07, 2014, 08:13:34 PM
When I started mining here in late October I was getting .5 BTC daily. I thought the network and diff grows to a certain rate, right? I never remember getting .3 .4 ever, it just dived to .1 and stayed there. It basically jumped from .5 to .1 pretty much skipping all the numbers in between. Where did those .3's and .4's go? I would have loved to see them.

Who has time to pay attention? I'm a working man and put in my 16 hour days and come home too tired to think about luck or the difficulty. Smiley

Unfortunately, there's a significant amount of work a miner needs to do and understanding a miner needs to have if he or she wants to understand average daily earnings rather than average earnings between retargets - especially if they have a 22Thps investment.

Your best bet is to average your earnings over a retarget and compare that to previous retargets. Either way, you need to be able to work out your estimated daily earnings so you have something to which you can compare your actual results.

Daily: hashrate*86400/2^32/Difficulty*Reward per block

At 22 Thps Ghps, this is:

22e12/2^32/ 2193847870.1743*86400*25 = 5.043245 coins per day

So if you have 22Thps and you're only earning 0.1 coins per day, something is badly wrong somewhere.

For my own curiosity, assuming he mah is right and I don't know if it is. How would such  problem be diagnosed.

Edit: Also he said when he started he was getting 0.5 so by your math something was wrong when h came in.

If I had to guess, I'd say his hashrate is more like 440 Ghps. That's more likely than anything else (not noticing a hashrate 50 times lower than it should be, for example).

1027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 07, 2014, 02:14:14 AM
Think again. $40k gets you 5 TH delivered next week. By the time you get the Neptunes, difficulty will be much higher. 5 TH now is far more profitable than 12 TH several months from now.
5th next week? Who sells them?
25+ Antminers from Bitmain.
https://www.bitmaintech.com/product.htm
3th of Antminers = 5kw (by taking 300watts per Antminer) = 31.654BTC (without shipping) = 25.8k $
3th of Neptunes = 2.5kw = 14.6BTC = 12k $

Two times more $$$ and watts for the same hash-power.

There is a really big difference here. You really can't even get a Neptune for at least another several months so why even compare right now?

All my friends requested refunds also for their Neptunes. In the bunch I think there was like 18 of them. Don't be surprised if you see some go on sale or we hear some news from KNC now. Once they see their very loyal customer base is dumping them out I'm pretty sure we'll eventually hear some thing from them soon. They only have one spokesperson here who isn't a sales person and can't really confirm on anything since all decisions are made by Sam. Only a matter of time we'll hear something. Once you are a millionaire and see possible money that could be yours leaving your bank account it starts to make you worry, no matter how much you have.

I predicted KNC would have to speak up, with all those Neptune refund requests they got nervous. The ONLY way to stop people from requesting more refunds is to offer them something else. Doesn't matter what it is. Just any kind of financial compensation even if it's true or not. They rarely ever announce anything...but seeing those Neptune sales turn around a bit they have to think of something. Kind of crazy this all comes and ironic this all comes about on the heels of many Neptune refunds. One way to stop it in its tracks, offer some kind of compensation. No real specific details, just a vague offer. Nice!!!
1028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 07, 2014, 02:04:00 AM
So, you guys wouldn't take 3Th/s of hosted cloud-hashing say, next month, as opposed to waiting until the end of Q2 for a physical Neptune?  I would, in a heartbeat. Everyone wins that way. It would definitely work in everyone's favor considering the alternatives.

Yes, great plan.  Let's put near complete control of 20PH of hardware into KnC's hands.  The brilliance from your greed is impressive.
Greed?
That's ridiculous. Cutting your losses is't greed, it's investment strategy. You may feel comfy with waiting until the end of July for 3 TH/s, but some of us don't. I have no idea how you get "greed" out of a customer deciding he would take 3Th/s now, over 3Th/s later. Any other decision would be utter stupidity IMHO. Seems to me, if Neptune is going to be later than expected, than you really have two choices... 1. Take the cloud-hashing offer when it comes.  or 2......   Don't.  You will, and you know it. If you decide not to, I'll shoot you my btc address, just have them send it to me, lol...  Then you can take over when your precious machine arrives. The whole premise of refusing a cloud-hashing offer over waiting 3 to 4 more months for a Neptune doesn't sound like you have 3 marbles left to rattle upstairs...
I think it was VERY thoughtful and skill-ful of KNC to cover our asses with cloudhosting, VERY.

Damn, KNC really screwed people on this one. All you guys basically filled their wallets again so they can build a big hashing farm for themselves to make themselves even more money. Would of been prudent if they mentioned this cloud hashing power thing when sucking in the thousands selling Neptunes. I'd be quite pissed really knowing a product may really never even show up. Once KNC gets on that cloud hashing farm trip they aren't going to worry about Neptunes or anything like that.
1029  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it hit $1000 again? on: February 07, 2014, 01:59:03 AM
And what happened to the $1000 after the new year??? Did you guys mean the CHINESE NEW YEAR???

1030  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it hit $1000 again? on: February 07, 2014, 01:58:02 AM
Again, no it won't, but my tax attorney said that I need to stop betting on this stuff, so I won't be betting any more with fiat or bitcoin.  If it does hit $1000 again (which I know it won't because of sources), then I'll send the next person to post...my guitar pick and one of my socks.

You  just said you can predict the future. Are you being serious? Can your "sources" predict the future?
I'm terrible at math, have no idea about stocks, trades or anything of that nature but do know one can't predict what will happen in the future.

As I'm typing this I have not yet hit the post button. I predict I will click on the post button and I won't die and something bad won't happen right before I click it. 100% Guarantee.

Let's find out!!

Hint: If you are reading this, I predicted the future.

Sorry, you are fundamentally wrong. You are just saying what probably will happen, but in reality don't really know it for sure. Die of a heart attack before hitting post. Ya never know. Please, don't need a back and forth with this. We really should agree that no one can predict the future, unless you are nuts.
1031  Economy / Service Discussion / CampBX is like being GOXED now on: February 05, 2014, 03:36:27 PM
CampBX has held my money hostage for weeks now. Amazing how a company can get away with doing this. Bitcoin was sent there, I sold the bitcoin and then had it transferred via ACH into my checking account. Well that never worked since their ACH system is broken. After 2 weeks CampBX finally funded my account with USD funds which is a pain in the ass because you can't even buy bitcoin on there to send it out. I placed an order to buy bitcoin on there for about %30 less then what the current rate was and no one wanted it. CampBX is backing you into a corner and supply you with no options to get your money out. The only option available is a USPS Money Order in which they charge you $20. I have selected that option to and willing to take the loss on this one. This is one company I'll never use again or recommend at all.
1032  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CampBX...watch out guys, is it gone? on: February 05, 2014, 03:31:43 PM
You'd have to be drunk/high to say you are "closed due to inclement weather"

Sounds like their dream has collapsed and they are taking it hard. Hope not too many people had money in there.
In fairness, Atlanta really has been shut down.  School buses were apparently stuck on the roads overnight.  But I think CampBX's problems have been running longer than that.

I still have yet to get my money from then. Been since January 22nd. Way before their "weather" excuse happened. They'll pretty much use any excuse they can think of I guess. Every response from them has been "wait another two days". Seriously, what does one really due in a situation  when an online company seems to have stolen your money?

I just logged into my account and see my FUNDS as a balance now. How do you convert that into BTC and send it out CampBX immediately? I'm afraid to try anything on their site that has to do with transfers or trades because they just never work.

you can get a lawyer in Georgia and sue them

The problem is since no one uses their site and doesn't want to it is impossible to buy bitcoin there. I had an order for half a bitcoin for like %30 less then the current rate and it sat there for 1 week.
1033  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CampBX...watch out guys, is it gone? on: February 05, 2014, 03:41:38 AM

Assuming you are asking about USD to be transferred out: first get your receiving Bitcoin address ready - another exchange, online wallet, your own wallet - whatever works for you. Then go to Trade Now and enter the amount of BTC and price under Quick Buy. You'll have to guesstimate the amount to make sure all your cash gets converted AND there is enough to cover commission. Transfer the resulting BTC to the address your set up earlier. There is no harm in trying since the alternative is to lose it all.

You will most likely lose money with this - BTC price is currently on CampBX ~$30 higher than e.g. BTC-E or Coinbase. This is also a sure sign that CampBX is in the shitter (everyone's pulling their coins out).

Thanks. Since everyone is bailing from then I'm finding it real hard to buy bitcoin on that site so I can send it out. If I make a quick buy order, that could sit there for weeks most likely. I' d rather pay a ridiculous $20 money order fee and just be done with them. I've never worked with such a shabby place in my life before.
1034  Economy / Service Discussion / Does 2FA require Android or IOS? on: February 02, 2014, 03:22:08 AM
Apparently I still use a Blackberry Smartphone, yea, sorry. From when I read this Google two factor authentication is only made for mobile devices like phones and ipads and not computers. I this true? Since most service discussions recommend this, I thought it would be a good place to post this here.
1035  Economy / Service Discussion / CampBX screwing me over... on: February 02, 2014, 03:05:33 AM
They just deposited USD funds into my account there because their system is slowly going under. I really want to get that money out of there before they completely disappear and it's gone forever. How in the heck do I convert that USD that's in my CampBX account to BTC so I can send it out to my wallet? Apparently it's just stuck there and nothing I can do with it.

Please tell me this is wrong. I went to do a quick buy order with CampBX on the available USD funds in my account so I can get them out of there ASAP. I DO NOT understand 4th line.
"Total purchase price including commission is estimated at: $139.64"

Are you telling me they are going to charge me $139 so I can buy 0.40706 bitcoin?Huh? How is this possible? I'm only trying to buy .40705 worth of bitcoin.

You are about to execute a Quick Buy order.
Purchase quantity is: 0.40705000 Bitcoins
Price will be 341.18 USD (Limit Price).
Total purchase price including commission is estimated at: $139.64
This order will be active for up to 99 days.

You can easily add two more plugs to your controller with basic soldering skills.

I hope to be making a video next week to show how its done.

I don't think they are basic skills. If you never soldered anything this procedure is quite difficult without ruining your currently working board.

1038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 01, 2014, 08:23:24 PM
I'm pretty sure it does not cost them more then $2000 for all parts including labor. I'm sure they could sell them as low as $3000. At that price, I'm willing to buy a few Jupiters, even at $3500. And I'm quite sure they could sell the upgrade modules for $600-$800.

My estimate is inventory cost of $1k for a jupiter. based on the price they insure for shipping.

KNC, will we see modules soon?

Why are people still asking this? Apparently KNC isn't going to respond. Jupiter's to them are small time now and they wouldn't even want to spend the money on making them again.
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 01, 2014, 08:20:17 PM
Since KNC stopped participating in this thread I don't think it should be moderated at all. Apparently they left their own thread and never came back.

The problem now has come for all bitcoin manufactures. The difficulty and hashing power is growing quicker then what can be made to turn a profit. It was bound to happen. Unless you own your own server farm, raised floors with air conditioning control which costs thousands per month to maintain anything you buy or pre-order right now won't earn you anything. 3TH, 4TH, 5TH, doesn't really matter. Most residential stuff is out of the question and if you want to stay mining you'll need to spend quite a bit on upgrading your entire home electrical system. What most people forgot is they'll spend thousands doing all the electric but completely leave out or forgot the cooling needs. Buying 20 window fans from Walmart isn't going to cut it anymore. You will need some serious cooling power and that cost a fortune. My group is running 4TH to 5TH and the costs to keep that going are quite expensive.

1040  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CampBX...watch out guys, is it gone? on: January 31, 2014, 02:20:28 AM
Someone in a thread on Service Announcements posted they tried to e-mail CampBX and it bounced back.  NOT a good sign.  And they said no responses to support tickets and withdrawals but I already knew about that.  Anyone have ANY contact from them lately?  They had also erased their Facebook page.  If this is true there needs to be a BIG notice put somewhere for people not to deposit there!

EDIT: Just checked and they put their Facebook page back up.  I assume they did it temporarily to erase bad messages on there but bad messages are popping up again.    It is AMAZING that those fools will put up a message "we are closing due to inclement weather" but they do not respond to all the other MASSIVE issues people are having!

It's just another excuse for them to use when in court. Excuse me judge, the weather was bad so the automated ACH deposits weren't working even though that has nothing to do with the weather.
