1841  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Better way to send payments... on: February 24, 2012, 10:32:19 PM
Automated or manual? If you want automated, do it through the sendmany RPC command in any recent version of the Satoshi client. If you want to do it by hand, the GUI in Bitcoin-Qt can do that on the send payment page.

Manual for now - so your saying the desktop top bitcoin has a send payment page to drop in a bunch of payment address's?
Hmm.. Well, from what it sounds like you're trying to do, perhaps the sendmany RPC might be better if you just have a list of addresses and they're supposed to get the same amount.

1843  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What it feels like to be a libertarian: Cassandra's Curse on: February 24, 2012, 08:06:02 PM
If you’d like a taste of what it feels like to be a libertarian, try telling people that the incoming Obama Administration is advocating precisely those aspects of FDR’s New Deal that prolonged the great depression for a decade; that propping up failed and failing ventures with government money in order to save jobs in the present merely shifts resources from relatively more to relatively less productive uses, impedes the corrective process, undermines the economic growth necessary for recovery, and increases unemployment in the long term; and that any "economic" stimulus package will inexorably be made to serve political rather than economic ends, and see what kind of reaction you get. And trust me, it won’t feel any better five or ten years from now when everything you have just said has been proven true and Obama, like FDR, is nonetheless revered as the savior of the country.
Interestingly enough, a war is was stopped the Great Depression. Meanwhile, Paul is warning us that we're going to go to war with Iran. If he's right, history will repeat itself.
1844  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Bitcoinica vulnerability dicsovered. on: February 24, 2012, 05:54:32 PM
I always suspected that this was possible with them, so I hope that it wasn't exploited too badly...

Huh? Then why didn't you bring it to their attention? =/
Because I didn't feel like actually taking the time to find such a vulnerability? I just knew that the way they were handling withdrawals was significantly more likely to result in a race condition.

1847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [LIVE] Withdraw Your TradeHill Balance Instantly- BitInstant on: February 24, 2012, 05:14:51 PM
You make some great points, and I won't disagree with you (the liquidation part isnt true, he still owns and runs the company)
Just so you know, I have nothing against you and I totally support what you're doing here. I'm glad that you've proceeded to doing this despite TradeHill's policy. They're making things extremely hard for you, and yet you keep on chugging along, likely even taking a loss on each of these transactions, unlike TradeHill. I respect that, and I just wanted to thank you personally.
1848  Economy / Lending / Re: gurg2.o/kujoking7/westcoastconnect/vincentio collections thread on: February 24, 2012, 05:06:30 PM
Maybe we can put up a request in a different thread- newbie/services ( goon services Smiley  ) etc...

I know you are clearly 100% joking but just fyi requesting to pay for violence I'm pretty sure will get you banned here.

I know you are 100% joking and will not get banned but just wanted to let you know what I think the forum policy is. I'm not a mod so take what I say about this with a grain of salt.

Thanks.
Just as a point of clarification, this post is correct about forum policy.
1849  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: (Conflict resolution) Chaang Noi / Matthew W on: February 24, 2012, 05:04:22 PM
Thanks for finally acting in good faith, Goat.
One of the issues I have not been able to resolve with Matthew is if the word press software he put on my site is pirated or not. I have been told by friends that it is but I do not know how to verify that with out contacting these guys here. http://www.elegantthemes.com/contact.html

Can someone with a bit more knowledge in this area please advise me. If it is illegal I need to take it down A.S.A.P Shocked

Thank you.
Uhh... what's your website again?

Thank you for finally acting in good faith, Mr. whatever your name is now. I await a reply from BitTalk Media to acknowledge that the requested agreement was, indeed, sent.
1851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [LIVE] Withdraw Your TradeHill Balance Instantly- BitInstant on: February 24, 2012, 07:11:20 AM
Go figure. TradeHill was just another mybitcoin. Who knew that it was so profitable to go out of business!

You really believe that? I think we're just all caught up in the moment. TradeHill was the first major competitor to MtGox and most of you may not know this, but if it weren't for their help and assistance, Bitinstant wouldnt exist. I owe Jered more then anyone can understand, and we became really good friends from this. He's not to blame at all, they took SO MUCH heat from everyone.

You really believe that? MyBitcoin.com was the first bitcoin bank and shopping cart solution and most of you may not know this, but if it weren't for them, Bitcoin wouldn't have progressed as far as it has today.

See? I can do that to.

Anyway, is it fair to say that Jered is no longer running the company? If so, that makes a lot more sense. As it was, TradeHill was slowing dying. I totally understand why they shut down. However, it sounds to me like Jered sold off the company to some sort of liquidator, and those guys know a thing or two about significantly profiting off of closing down a business. It's disgusting. Luckily, I doubt that it is legal, so I expect a class-action lawsuit to start against them at some point here.

For $10, I could pay a poor college student to do the AML checks for a whole hour. You can't tell me that most of that $10 isn't pure profit going into the pockets of whoever owns TradeHill now.
1852  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'm refunding the victims of my terrible scam on: February 24, 2012, 05:49:13 AM
Good job, TT! I hope that we're able to find everyone and get them to reply to you so we can remove that tag of yours! I'll dig through my PMs to see if I have anything from anybody else.

Edit: Bleh, totally forgot that I didn't head this investigation. I don't have information from anybody. Sad
1853  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: (Conflict resolution) Chaang Noi / Matthew W on: February 24, 2012, 05:24:44 AM
e-mail was replied to, no coins yet...
As silly as this sounds... I need proof that an email with an address was sent. As per your agreement with the magazine, you are supposed to provide them with an address. By failing to do so, one could argue that not providing an address as per the agreement makes you a scammer.
1854  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rocket is secretly taking off yet again! on: February 24, 2012, 03:53:01 AM
And if you subscribed to waveaddict's daily 2.5 btc/month email subscription, you knew that this was going to happen well before this thread was made. You'll also know when it's about to go back down...

(just sayin')

You know about this thread and you are not responding. Again I have done everything you have asked me to do. I have jumped a lot of hoops for you. This forum and in the thread is the only place I will communicate with you. You need to respond here.
Well... Umm... Full disclosure here: He's banned for two days for trolling. If you reach him through some other means, please keep us up to date, though.

Normally we don't do this, but under the circumstances, locking this thread would be a good idea.
1859  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: A1BitcoinPool Complaint on: February 22, 2012, 05:24:57 PM
Did you read?  He owed 120 BTC he intends to pay 20 BTC of that.
Not quite. A good portion of that is owed to himself. Running the numbers, 20 BTC seems about right, assuming that he was telling the truth about the number of shares that have already been payed out.

Unless there is a compelling reason to change that number, as the investigating staff member in the scammer investigation, I am ruling that 20 btc is fair to all parties and that if it is paid out in a reasonable manner, he won't receive the scammer tag.
1860  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: (Conflict resolution) Chaang Noi / Matthew W on: February 22, 2012, 05:00:23 PM
I would like to ask that all posters in this thread only add if they have helpful ideas on conflict resolution. I would like to stay on topic. Thank you for respecting this.
Note: as a local thread rule, this will be enforced.

Now, on an on-topic note, I was under the impression from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=64772.0 that Matthew was willing to work with you to fix this. I believe he mentioned that he wants to refund you in whole for the website work.

I really don't get why he doesn't just talk to you...
