I'm sorry but your biased
We all are, at least a little. That being said, almost everyone here is complaining that I'm too unbiased. Again, I WANT YOU TO HAVE YOUR MONEY BACK!
and you have no right to hold the money or tell anyone to do so.
True, but I hold the keys to peoples reputation, here. That being said, I'm doing this to protect both sides here. I'm not your enemy.
if the money does not get returned to him, today. And I mean all of the $1600,you will get served with liable suits.
Can you prove that he intentionally tried defaming you? Can you prove that he knowingly lied about you? Can you prove damages? Because you need all of that to sue someone for libel in the US. Even then, people still lose cases.
Infact a few are going to get served anyway I've decided.
And that's why I try to stay at least somewhat anonymous here, especially as a mod.
2062  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Accusations against shakaru on: January 01, 2012, 06:06:07 AM
Maged may I ask who you are & what influence you have on paypal?
None at all. Why would you think that?

Sorry what those screens confirm and the evidence shows is that Sakaru took his money, cancled the refund and has not given it back. That is fraud. Where is the money? He still has but has lied saying paypal does.
If you insist, I'll ask for evidence that PayPal still has the money.

"My original ruling stands. This is a misunderstanding. Because of the dispute, the funds will be held for 180 days from the transaction (unless shakaru decides to do better than that)."

Sorry? But you are not a legal judge , as far as I can see you have no real authority in this world at all to make decisions that affect anyone in regards to money.
I have the authority on this forum to permanently ruin peoples reputation here. That doesn't mean much for you, but it means everything for shakaru.

Return his money, I'm not sure where you have a 180 day figure. The money comes back to him, today. If he takes even 1 cent out the amount that was taken I will fund the lawyers myself.
That'd be entirely up to him to decide (if PayPal just didn't decide to keep the funds). I just wouldn't let him get punished if he were to keep his actual costs. Of course, that likely wouldn't stand up legally, but since this was an international order, you don't really have any legal recourse, anyway.
2063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: EPIC fail on: January 01, 2012, 04:52:57 AM
How did you get VIP under your name? Did you put that there or was that earned from staff? Dont really matter but I am a little curious. Your the only one I see with it.
He got it by donating 50 bitcoins to the forum.

As for this issue, have you tried pywallet?

If you use it, only try it on a copy of your backup.

If you can access your old drive, try this:

2064  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The truth is Astana is right. on: January 01, 2012, 03:47:57 AM
Just for shit and giggles, let's all post the nasty PMs which assholetana sends to every person who posts an unsupportive comment about him.
You have no idea what even I have received.

Astana, you will be refunded by PayPal. If you have any complaints, direct it to them.
2065  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Accusations against shakaru on: January 01, 2012, 03:17:45 AM
This is a misunderstanding. Because of the dispute, the funds will be held for 180 days from the transaction (unless shakaru decides to do better than that). If you wish, you (astana) may select some reputable person/business to hold the funds until then.
I thought they were cryo frozen rock solid with helium by PayPal?
Thanks, shakaru just clarified that for me. In that case, since shakaru didn't lose the additional funds, but PayPal took the two $800 transactions, I consider this matter closed. Astana, if you still have any complaints, send them to PayPal and/or you payment processor.
2066  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Accusations against shakaru on: January 01, 2012, 02:56:28 AM
Ok, so if you know me for OTC, you know I am not a fan of offtopic discussion. So. I ask that this thread be locked. Keep the investigation open and any update can be added to this post, by only the admin through subsion and peer review through PM. I have no issues with the matters of this beign held publically, but if the admins of this forum start to think it is an burden in its current state, then do as you see fit.
Sorry about that, I unexpectedly had no internet for several days. Unfortunately, it's too late to save this thread.

Woke up this morning..........

AND PAYPAL TOLD ME I WON!

"Hello Andrew Nollan,

We have completed our investigation of the transaction below and were
unable to find evidence of unauthorized access to the buyer’s account. This
case was denied to the buyer and no funds were recovered from your account.

Nice! Please document the fees this cost you (stop payment fee, chargeback fee, etc.) and submit them to me for evaluation. Once that is done, you will need to return the difference to astana in about 180 days (just in case he tries something else). I know you want to get back at this guy, but you'll be labeled a scammer just the same, even though you feel that you are reverse-scamming a scammer (I, personally, am not claiming that astana is a scammer; my original ruling still stands that this is/was a misunderstanding).

I'm not astana, I know he has asked me to post this. Make of it what you will.

"First notice they didn't ban me for scamming, oh no because THEY NO I NEVER HAVE. They banned me for trolling, pathetic fucks. All I will say to you andrew is every dog has it's day and karma will fuck you in ass hard, like most of the other dysfunctional cocksuckers on here you have the morals of a $2 whore and fuck over anyone and everyone. BTW i haven't threatened you, again your a liar.

You seem pretty chummy here andrew infact one might say enthisiastic, this proves you took my money for 4 cards.

the pastbin of the conversation http://pastebin.com/8c7M2iyP

More pastebin, funny you big fat liar you don't seem to have any issues here.

http://pastebin.com/VnTvQNdh

Shane gave me your postcode Smiley he is also the one who sold him one of cards for bitcoins

AND finally you fucking liar you haven't refunded me one fucking cent.

Wow look $1600 in transactions to Andrew Nolan.

BTW andrew where are the cards hae explained what happened to them? Do you even have proof you got them? I haven't seen shit all evidence saying you did.

RETUIRN MY MONEY YOU FUCKING CHEATING SCUMBAG.

ANd people have the balls to call me a scammer, prove it you dipshits. you cant because i never have, your supporting a snitch and a liar must feel good hey. you losers check your fucking facts before you waste another brain cell.

Remember what happens to snitches in life andrew, you threaten me with police when you are the fucking criminal? You disgrace.

And last to parasite  LoupGaroux, your a fucking clown I wouldn't spit on you. Your a mindless fucking drone who believes anything and everything, you must be what 15? "
HOLY SHIT!!! I honestly can't believe my eyes! The very information that I've literally been asking for THIS ENTIRE THREAD has finally been posted!

This information matches the information that shakaru sent me. Yes, even that of the transaction summary page he sent me privately. The refund would have appeared in your account on the 21st if you hadn't reversed the previous transactions. Had you waited until then and not received a refund, shakaru would have had quite a bit to answer to.

My original ruling stands. This is a misunderstanding. Because of the dispute, the funds will be held for 180 days from the transaction (unless shakaru decides to do better than that). If you wish, you (astana) may select some reputable person/business to hold the funds until then.
2067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: help, recovering from wallet.dat on: January 01, 2012, 12:45:05 AM
If that doesn't work I don't believe there are any tools which decrypt a wallet and dump a plain text copy of the contents.  It shouldn't be too hard to create a tool that does this using the client source code as a blueprint.
Especially since the majority of what is needed to recover keys already exists.

You may want to try offering a small bounty for a tool which can take encrypted wallet and given passphrase will dump a plain text copy of all private keys.
I suggest letting jackjack know of the bounty you put out, since it might encourage him to find time to finish his update to pywallet:

2068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Service Proposal: Making Bitcoins untrackable on: January 01, 2012, 12:13:47 AM
It seems like instawallet is mixing bitcoins up well too. How well I dont know, and noone knows if there are logs kept (which will be a general problem for any such service).

Ente
Instawallet doesn't work well as a mixing service. However, it could be (and likely is) used as an extra source of entropy for mixing services.

Thanks theymos, I couldn't find the exact information you had given before.
2071  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Accusations against shakaru on: December 25, 2011, 10:35:49 PM
The only logs that do exist are from Skype. No irc chat was ever used (the freenode servers can back that up) also, all forums pms have either been me stating that I do not trust astana and I am refuding his money, and a series of onsided pms to me with some wounderful lillt quips.
There you go, astana. Prove that wrong and I'll have shakaru marked as a scammer right away.

Does it go both ways no proof and this weasel is marked scammer...
No, unless the logs are falsified. Even then, that will require a large amount of evidence to prove it.

2073  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Accusations against shakaru on: December 25, 2011, 08:16:22 PM
Your money will be returned solely at the discretion of shakaru. And you are giving him less and less reason to do so. He has zero obligation to refund you anything after you charged back prior transactions with him which were completely unrelated to this transaction.
If he doesn't return the difference minus his actual costs, he will be marked as a scammer. I don't care how much of an ass astana is being.
You want logs, how about I post the IRC conversations, the private messages, the thread in the private forum. The IM chats between people. Oh yes I have them.
Absolutely! If you prefer to keep them private, you can message them to me. Otherwise, post them in this thread.

If you feel that I am too biased in this case, you can also choose to send this information to Yankee or deslok. I trust both of them to evaluate the information you send them appropriately.

I thank you for the vote of confidence maged however I would be a poor choice for an impartial judge in this case, yankee on the other hand is still a good sugestion
Honestly, I could care less who views his private information. I just want him to submit it to somebody that is reputable. All Hero Members are allowed to arbitrate disputes and gather private information. If the arbitrator decides that someone is a scammer, they submit a summary of the information as well as the specific incriminating evidence to theymos for his decision. However, before submitting to theymos and potentially wasting his time, we usually recommend sending that information to a Global Moderator for an initial review.
2074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Innovation in the alt chains on: December 25, 2011, 07:29:56 AM
So why am I telling this long, uninteresting, and self-absorbed story, you might ask? Because once we we saw that bitcoin solved our problem we wondered what else it could do. And lo and behold, just about everywhere we look, in every industry (even--especially--outside of tech and finance) there are low hanging fruit ready to be optimized or made obsolete by the introduction of products based on bitcoin P2P technology.
(...)
without exaggeration bitcoin is the most disruptive technology to emerge since the World Wide Web.
This really brings us back to the real issue, doesn't it? The reason why you aren't yet seeing real innovation in the alt chains is because everyone is just standing around in shock trying to comprehend this world-changing technology. Less than a hundred people in the world probably understand the intricacies of Bitcoin... and only one person understands it completely. For example, not even Gavin knew that it was possible to implement OP_EVAL in a backwards compatible way until quite (relatively) recently, and he's the lead developer! How can you expect alt-chain developers to fair any better than that?

The thing that you need to realize is that Bitcoin, in its current state, shouldn't have existed for at least 10 more years. Had ANYBODY else invented Bitcoin today, fairly major things like the scripting system would have simply not existed. THAT is something an alt-chain would have invented. However, Satoshi beat them to it.

When it comes to innovation in the alt-chains, instead of the phrase often used to describe plots in TV shows - "The Simpsons did it" - we have a case of "Satoshi did it".
2075  Other / Meta / Re: DiabloD3's conflict of interest in sticking his thread on: December 25, 2011, 06:46:34 AM
I see that the thread has been un-stickied, but still cannot find an explanation of the whole fiasco by a staff member.
After reviewing the feedback from the community, theymos decided to overturn Diablo's stickying of the thread. If theymos wishes to say anything else on this matter, he will have to do it himself. The best I can tell you is that his reasons for keeping Diablo around are both good, and similar to my own earlier reasoning.

The discussion of DiabloD3's conflict of interest in sticking this post has been removed for being off-topic. I have forwarded the concerns to theymos for evaluation. If you would like to continue that discussion, please do so in Meta.

I do NOT want to keep deleting off-topic posts in this thread. Next person who posts off-topic will be referred to theymos to be banned. If you want to complain about this being a sticky, there is a post in Meta for that. Here, I'll even link it:

Thanks to btc-e.com for being responsive to the investigation. All outstanding issues that I've seen have now, at the very least, received a response. I suspect that we will be able to put this behind us shortly.
2078  Other / Meta / Re: Want legit 7970 testing/benchmarking? 1DbeWKCxnVCt3sRaSAmZLoboqr8pVyFzP1 on: December 24, 2011, 07:39:25 AM
Can you kindly delete this thread now that you've moved the relevant post to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=55553.0?

Many thanks.
No, this thread is about the lack of our ability to copy posts, and more specifically, how I moderated that thread. That's why I split them.
2079  Other / Meta / Re: DiabloD3's conflict of interest in sticking his thread on: December 24, 2011, 07:35:13 AM
Honestly, in many ways I agree. However, there are few people who can replace him in his other moderation tasks beyond general moderation. For example, he's really the only person who knows what should be stickied on the Mining board.
2080  Other / Meta / Re: Want legit 7970 testing/benchmarking? 1DbeWKCxnVCt3sRaSAmZLoboqr8pVyFzP1 on: December 24, 2011, 07:18:16 AM
We currently can't copy posts, so I had to delete the comments because most of them were embedded in on-topic posts.
