If someone buys Bitcoin for $320 and then buys BLOCK with that Bitcoin, when Bitcoin goes up to $400 or $450 BLOCK price goes down to match the original dollar price of BLOCK, as people sell BLOCK for profit.

^ One cause.

Darksend currently broken:

“This issue comes from the way fees are paid in Darksend with the combination of the way the client tries to denominate the same amount each round. The result is the possibility to trace a transaction through Darksend.“
-Evan Duffield, Darkcoin Developer

In order to fix this flaw, a mixing stage will be added to Darksend which only mixes fees. Furthermore, the client will mix random amounts during each session, obfuscating transactions from the blockchain and restoring anonymity.

Do you guys think we have reached our final floor (price wise)?. Up trend from here onwards ??

No way to know.

I invested in the Maidsafe IPO (a lot of money actually... 100 BTC). And it immediately dropped 50% after the IPO finished (mainly because some people could buy the Maidsafe Safe coins for much cheaper). I posted three messages to the Maidsafe team about this and then just forgot about it.

6 months later the price has been steadily rising as more tech is slowly being unveiled. And I believe I am now 50% in profit. Maybe even 60% when I factor in my discount.

Moral of the story is to not worry about the price in these IPO's. If you believe the team will deliver the tech, the price will rise sooner or later.

My only guess is the OKCoin leak is true!

This one ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4oiQriC0n8&feature=youtu.be&t=4m57s

It must be something like that. The buying is absolutely manic. We're nearly $70 up in 24 hours. People are throwing 3 figure BTC shots at the high.

Except it makes no sense at all. No one would leak a 3 billion market capitalization before hand. Not even if under heavy meth use.

It's incredibly doubtful a hedge fund would dump all their funds into a single asset/security.

We're probably looking at 1-2% of their funds at best...30 to 60 million.

And in my opinion they probably gradually invested that BEFORE okcoin leaked the news.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] Darkcoin | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW and Darksend | Instant TX on: November 12, 2014, 05:59:06 PM

Bitstamp and BTCe are off the charts with some of the most manic trading I've ever seen.

Just watched a 200 BTC sellwall getplaced and bought in under a minute. Arbitrage spreads are widening due to the rapid rise - $10 from Bitstamp to BTCe. I think Bitfinex is even further ahead.

Just as I'm writing this, there goes another 100 BTC wall on BTCe - vapourised.

Where is this leading ? What's going on ? Is it simply that everyone's been waiting months for a bottom and have collectively decided that this is it and there's huge short covering ?

Lets have the next 10 pages of a full roundup of BTC / DRK / Cryptomarket analysis with all known commentators hands on deck  Cool

As I'm writing this, a 300 BTC sellwall on BTCe just got pulled and a 192 Buywall placed instead. We're up another 5 dollars. Looks like we might even get to a full $100 jump within a 24 hour period.

Make no mistake - this will be good for Darkcoin. Any capitalisation of the cryptocurrency market always flows into the top 10 alts - simply from hedging if nothing else. DRK will see gains from this.

Solid post.

I'm thinking possible reasons could be:

- Very wealthy russians putting money in cos of the Ruble crash. A past Bitcoin bubble happened around the Cyprus crisis.
- Since the downtrend has gone on so long, the number of people waiting to buy in when the price starts rising has grown big... now the price trend is clearly reversing all the spectators who have been waiting for this moment are piling in
- Random variation. Over the last 9 months we're still in a big down trend pattern.

This is like calling Bitcoin a scam because of what happened with Mark at Mtgox.

One question .....What is the difference between SuperNet and BlockNet  Shocked

They are different but also similar in some sense. That's why Blocknet is way undervalued at approx 1000BTC market cap with Supernet at 7000 BTC.

Dude all you do is whining and bitching all the time. There is a shit load of unexpected when you do research and development. If you need to be baby fed you should go invest in obligations and not in crypto. Cry baby

That is your opinion and it is not true.

Mig is spot on. You're always crying about some shit. Please develop a backbone.

We should have a locked topic in the announcements section that is strictly for technical announcements, new wallets, app testing releases, partnerships, PR etc. That will give a quick overview to newcomers how active the development and PR is.

We should also have an unlocked topic which is strictly moderated. After the ridiculous amount of FUD and dummy accounts being used to smear Dan, XC and Block this should be a no-brainer. People can (and have!) created unofficial discussion topics for XC which are unmoderated (and guess who flock to those, the trolls).

What I suggest shouldn't be a problem. See peercoin:

Announcement topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=101820.0
Locked topic only for updates: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=114994.0

Note - I have read little of the recent posts above me.

For what reason is a hard fork required or is it trolling?

It's always the juniour accounts and members who say they are leaving.   Grin

not only Wink

and yeah i am leaving and i won't even have an internet connection soon so.. it's not just talk lol

i don't think the majority say anything they simply wander off quietly.

@OP
Good luck.

I leave because i don't think it's a level playing field anymore.. it's just too corrupt and biased etc everywhere you turn.

edit:

I also have lingered to leave some guys an excuse why and offer my Fans any last minute jabs etc LOL

Some guys had since PM'd me with some questions etc before i said i left recently..
so i am stopping by occasionally out of respect for old members i spent a lot of time with.
they don't deserve a disappearing act with no warning or explanation.

How many posts and topics do you need to announce that you are leaving soon. If leaving a forum is this hard for you, you need to grow some balls.
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains / XBridge / true cross-chain P2P on: November 11, 2014, 03:15:03 PM
Dev never have any projects. Him just make money via ICO buy block shitcoin. Please look at exchange, price now is 16k. It will get trap in 5k sat. 100 sat is future (1 day no more).

A question for dev.
What's coin maked use for?
P/s My post will be deleted buy dev soon.

Lol the irony. You're a Util supporter and you're bashing Dan.

You need to check the recent Util announcements and see what Dan's new Util role is (hint: he basically saved your coin).

You called me and others crazy.

No I didn't. Referring to "the crazies on this thread" does not entail that every poster on this thread is crazy.

Quote
You are such a hypocrite. Please, stop using the work ethical. You really don't understand what does it mean.

I know very well what "ethical" means. I live up to it too. I wish I could show you all some of the conversations I've had in the background here. Unfortunately my *ethics* require me to get consent before publishing private conversations, so that's not gonna happen.

Ah well, patience is a virtue. In due time you'll all come to see the way I practice what I preach.

In the meantime, do as you will...
Regardless whether or not BlockNet becomes a success, your behavior cannot be regarded as ethical. I urge you to reconsider your usage of words ethical, ethics and alike.
1. It is not ethical to label legitimate questions as FUD and trolling and delete them
2. It is not ethical to market BlockNet as 450-900% profit investment
3. It is not ethical to call people to invest in your product
4. It is not ethical to call legitimate logs fake
5. It is not ethical to call Prometheus an ethical investor
6. It is not ethical to post cheerful posts regarding ITO success when your investors are losing money
etc.

DRK is rising because instant transaction has been demoed to work. If you look at where the coins currently are and ignore where they are going and the speed they are going there at DRK is truly one of the strongest money transmitters in crypto. I don't think their tech is the best, but it is the most widely used of all the anon coins, and the volume alone brings security. Masternodes are by concept semi centralization, but because they are so many it is compared to all coins decentralized, just not as scalable as other tech in my opinion. But the semi centralization of masternodes enables cool features like the instant transactions. So stop hating on DRK, we don't need the flame war. Everything is relative and currently you can also mix your BTC with an Exchange and LTC.

The transactions are not instant. It's marketing spin from the DRK team which is something they are very good at.

The DRK dev has said himself that on the live network he expects it to be 20 to 30 seconds not the 2 seconds of the demo.

Why transactions that take 30 seconds to be safe to be spent are called instant I don't know, but I do know if XC was to try and pull a stunt like that there would be 100 trolls with their pitchforks out.

Can someone please direct me to the Blocknet windows wallet.

I can see it on Github but I am on a windows machine and don't trust myself to compile it correctly.

Why don't you just download the wallet Zip file straight from http://theblocknet.com/

Thanks Smiley

Synechist can you clarify whether staked Block tokens will be allowed to be kept or not?

I vaguely remember something about the staking wallet being meant only for storage.
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains / XBridge / true cross-chain P2P on: November 10, 2014, 12:37:53 AM
Guys, I re picked up a few XC while the coins were in the 30k region... I did not pick up enough to be overly bothered, but if you do keep the XC thread closed much longer.. I think XC will die. You do more for the trolls by shutting the thread than having it open as a soap box, it is almost like you are letting them win... There Seem to be some really strange decisions going on with XC at the moment... Really cannot see the strategic direction at the moment, and as for blocknet, I think its the nail in the coffin as opposed to the silver bullet, but we shall see...

OPEN THE XC THREAD

XC team need to be more active imo.

I thought Blocknet wasn't going to be impacting on XC? Synechist seems virtually silent with PR updates or anything really. And the XC topic is closed.
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: back from the dead ;) on: November 09, 2014, 04:39:05 PM
Well Blocknet made its goal, so it is going to happen, sorry but the competitors smear campaign failed,

Do you have any evidence that the many concerns that were raised were nought but a 'smear campaign' and, more importantly, were from a competitor?

Because simply dismissing the valid concerns of people who were being critical of this ITO and those behind it, isn't helpful and paints you as somebody who will simply declare everything that doesn't agree with you to be FUD.

Several of the most vocal accounts FUDDing Blocknet and XC with topics and posts have been found to be all sock puppet accounts of the same person: Unicornfarts, Danisdone, rdnkjdi.

I also suspect several other accounts to be by the same person but unlike the above I have no proof so I won't post yet.

It's amazing how much damage just a couple of people can do with determination and fake accounts.

I just looked up your post history and have to laugh at your proof. mr_random post history
I hate to burst your bubble but your way off and have no clue what your talking about and your a bad judge of character.

This kid here has a big mouth full of garbage.. i see what he has for proof and it's simply laughable.

this picture i think is big mouth's proof LOL

and by the way the damage was done by Dan and his crew..
don't blame the cops when you got caught for your crime !

and i liked the guys comment on Cloak earlier.
here is your Blocknet team when they were still pushing Cloak.. http://pastebin.com/QLYy2uLj
Notice how the coin is dead today and abandoned ?
Notice the Cloak clothing line plans ?
How about the Cloak Documentry ?
Or how about the CIARA ?
Yes they actually have the nerve to try and start a Cloak retirement savings plan ROFL
and that is just ONE coin in their wake of damage on the scene.. just one small part of the scam puzzle from a group of corrupt pricks and their scammer pals !

i can not comprehend how any smart person could hear the stuff guys are posting here (with out me) and still want to invest in Blocknet etc
This is crazy !
And guys all your doing is building a better scam here for Danny.. he is watching like a hawk and using each criticism as a way to patch up all holes in his scam ship.
It's amazing how fast he has put a response out to things i have said LOL
Get it ? Don't TEACH HIM how to make a better scam Wink

And guys let's have a Q&A from the Dan he can clear up the mystery of him and that synechrist guy.. same person ? if not then what do they both do ?
Also it's funny how there is such militant supporters of Blocknet ..almost like they have a vested interest in it for some odd reason LOL
Meaning i think we need a Q&A with each coin dev of every coin that signed on to participate in Blocknet.
They were all made by a different guy no Huh
Then lastly we need a Q&A from exchange staff as to why they added it at all even after hearing this crap early on..
And the best for last..
Bitcointalk needs to explain why they have carefully censored me from Talking about Blocknet.. quietly sweeping my topics about it under the rug.
According to the guy i just quoted mr_random.. it may be because "I am a cunt" but i don't see how that has any bearing on the matter..
is being a cunt a rule here ?

I'll be holding my breath waiting for answers  Roll Eyes

and yeah i know who some of the accounts are and NO i will not tell you either mr_random LOL

Cool story bro. You write and behave like someone with a mental disorder. Reading your delusional rants and trolling reminds me what a good life I have. Lol.
