1041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 12, 2014, 11:13:53 PM
any news from the dev today? Did he replied to Chaeplin claims?

As far as I can see it's just Chaeplin being Chaeplin and repeating himself over and over.

The dev isn't going to keep responding to the same thing again and again. This isn't a shouting match of who has the loudest voice.

Thank you for sharing my article!!!

Im glad you guys are starting to understand the real benefit of XC!

Here are some other pointers that may be of help:

Increasing Network Traffic
Dual Path (XC Coin) is approximately 52.5% faster than crowds (normal coins)

Increasing Size of Data
Dual-Path is about 30% to 50% faster than Crowds for increasing the size of sending data.

Increasing size of sending data and network traffic
Dual-Path is faster about 45% to 75%.

Increasing node failure and network traffic
Dual-Path acts better when network traffic increases and nodes are dropped.

More Benefits of XC
IMMUNE TO D/DOS AS THERE IS NO NEED FOR A NODE +1
NO NEED FOR MASTER NODES +1
IMMUNE TO time-to-live attacks as it uses random time intervals for each transmission

The above was done in accordance to the dropping ratio of nodes which was held at 40%.

Cheers  Cheesy

Being immune to DDoS is huge. That's a big weakness of DRK.

Similarly not requiring master nodes.

I would like to see these having prominent mention in the OP if possible  Cool

How are we picking a winner?

Is there going to be a vote?
1045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 30, 2014, 02:28:18 PM

Uhh...doesn't XC have a thread here somewhere?  Wouldn't that be a better place to post this?  I'm not sure I understand why you would put it here...

Uhhh, doesn't DRK have their own twitter account which should be used ONLY for DRK related news and not to post FUD & blatant lies about competitor coins?

Seriously bad manner

Was an official apology ever issued about that? The FUD caused XC price to drop 75% in 30 minutes. I imagine some innocent investors panic sold due to reading it.

It's a black mark against DRK's name in the history books that's for sure.
1046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO]MANDATORY UPGRADE!Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 30, 2014, 02:20:32 PM
Why the heck is MRO cheaper than DRK?

Too many coins get produced per day to sustain a high price. Until the market interest is higher I don't see the down trend stopping.
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 30, 2014, 02:18:24 PM
DRK approach vs XC approach

DRK

Imagine if you will that you had a message and you wanted to send it to a friend. Delivering this message is the highest priority of your life and no other person can find out where this message came from.
The standard method used by most coins would require that there are web servers (see above image), “judges” if you will that will be the point of contact between you and your friend. They may pass the message among themselves and or with other individuals until they finally transmit the message to its destination, which will be your friend.

XC approach

The alternative approach to the crowds method is the dual path method. XC has implemented this within its wallet POS feature. This method benefits from the lack of need for a node as each individual is treated independently (see above image). It is fully decentralized and anonymous.

If we were to render the same situation of needing to send a message to a friend using this method instead we would get a completely different scenario.
In this case the request is bounced around independent individuals at random intervals until it has reached you. You would then send your message using the same method although in this case it will follow a completely different path. This means that there is no way of actually telling who the requester or the sender was. There are no nodes or “judges” and each individual will only need to decide the next movement. A complete free form of requesting and sending data.

Its approach to a complete anonymous POS wallet that not only is private but at the same time: its much faster at dealing with network changes, node drops and overall handling of data compared to the crowds approach mentioned above.

XC is also encrypted. And the dev is also working on blockchain v 2.0 later on with encrypted messaging, peer to peer exchange. And to the people spreading lies, the developer is here on linkedin and mentions XC on his page: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/dan-metcalf/12/1a8/b82

As one of the large investors here I would like to point out that I find the 3.33% yearly is way too low.

My investments in "real life" bring my 9% yearly.

Just a thought.

It's not meant to be an investment tool.

MINT has a high staking percentage and look what happened to that. Puts extra downward pressure on the price.

One of the beauties of a pure PoS coin with low interest is the minimal amount of new coins produced. Compared to Litecoin producing 20,000 coins per day to be dumped for profit on the market by miners. This is what we will enable us to go sky high in price in the future. The only coins being dumped are by people who bought lower.

Why would we want to paint an airplane black with blackcoin stuff on it? .. how will that help anyone? .. That's a waste of money.

Yeah it's taking the piss a bit lol
1051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] >> Mandatory Wallet Update - The first POS ANON on: May 30, 2014, 12:09:42 AM
To any potential investors reading this madness ask yourself this, why would DRK holders spend so much time and energy trying to smear XC and spread fear, uncertainty and doubt about this legitimate project?

Answer: They are scared of our potential.

Mark my words, next time XC rises, DRK is going to fall so hard not even a 2000 BTC buy order will save it.
1052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] >> Mandatory Wallet Update - The first POS ANON on: May 29, 2014, 11:57:39 PM
SINGLE POINT FAILURE ring any bells for you?

Gee... I wonder where NSA will go to hack to track all those DRK being sent... Oh what do you know, we only need to hack a single server.   Awesome.

And what good would hacking one single server do? It has been estimated that you'd need to hack > 90% of the masternodes even in the CURRENT Darksend implementation to spy on the network. The next version will have vastly improved anonymity.
i am sellin g ( been for a couple of day,s now ) all my drk

if u ask why its simple

1 drk had a bug on day 1 that insta mined the coins on day 1 ( some say oops some say scam ) i was in the middle buty now i have serius questions

2 dev saw xc moving up and drk dropping down so he spread about what seems to be FUD ( lying ) this raises the nexst question did drk dev team ly about nr 1 > prob

3 i can not trust devs that do shit like that and every one investing in that coin its up to them but they should not ignore this

Don't worry. What happened that day which caused a 75% drop in XC price in 30 minutes will go down in the history books. It's a permanent black mark against DRK's reputation as far as I am concerned until the DRK team issue an apology. It was on the official DRK twitter account after all.

What a wacko.

Now I know you are not very bright. Read the sentence he wrote again dumb ass. He was referencing a thread HE created and told everyone they can post in his thread and he wont delete the posts. He even posted the name of his thread. You are probably the second dumbest person I met on this forum, only second to IconicAmateur.

As a piece of advice to your community, ask your dev to verify his identity. That's the first step to gaining trust from investors. A Linkedin profile is not sufficient.

Like Satoshi did you mean?  Cheesy

Most of the coins in the top 10 were founded by anonymous developers. It will be nice to get further verification of the dev, but it's dis-ingenious of you to say it's needed as a first step to "gain trust".

I'm not afraid of the coding, I can read and understand the code and that's not where the problem is or where my worries are.
Its all the stuff that happens around it, the blaming of people, the constant abuse some people seem to get, the blatant lies that people put in, people who are to quick to judge or which don't understand half of what they're saying etc. All in all how would a coin not be affected by that? or in this case, get over that and continue on his previous coarse?

BlackCoin went through far worse. Yesterday was a walk in the park compared to that.

Surely you saw yesterday DRK plunging as XC rose spectacularly? People will invest in XC and dump DRK if they see the facts. And the facts can't be hidden forever.
1056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] >> Mandatory Update to new Wallet - The first POS ANON on: May 29, 2014, 05:11:02 PM

Yes but why would it be in there in the first place if it's from the "ground up" code ? I didn't find this piece of code in any other coin I checked.

To add to Teka's comment, if you click on atcsecure's profile and read his last 5 messages you will see what he has to say about the claims (it's all hot air).
1057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] >> Mandatory Update to new Wallet - The first POS ANON on: May 29, 2014, 05:04:59 PM
Can someone help by organizing relevant information from the old thread regarding things like our anon feature / x nodes / blockchain 2.0  --> this will help people more easily see the innovation of XC

In terms of the future I have this post which collates a few snippets from the dev:

The mixer technology will be multi-path across a cluster of xnodes which runs over the encrypted protocol, so it won't be a central server, it would be similar to a distributed cluster, and the data is encapsulated inside that encrypted tunnel to prevent off-the wire sniffing (or off-the-air* for the mobile platform)...  DRK didn't "invent" supernodes or the concept, and while some of concepts are similar and/or overlap, we are on a different path than DRK and as we refine the platform, it will be clear why our design, implementation and infrastructure is superior as we will have autonomous supernodes using PKI that can scale up and out to become a distributed anonymous application platform

This is why the multi-path paradigm network I built back in 2005 still functions to do this day and scaled up to meet the demands of 2014... think back to 2005, granted we had the internet, but not the mobile technology - and that is a key part of my background is mobility that will be leveraged in the android anonymous POS wallet

http://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1208/1208.3022.pdf)
(The principles for this concept come from a design that I originally leveraged back in 2005,[multi-path paradigm] the system still runs to do this day handling 50k to 100k users per day )

If your waiting for NSA proof anonymity - well that is the goal of our REV 2 release..

No, mixing is only part of it, XC now contains a completely new transaction protocol layer that is encrypted and will be leveraged as a platform for all sorts of concepts.... and it will leverage multi-path paradigm topology (which again is a custom developed concept based on dual-path paradigm)So mixing is just the first application to run on top of this new protocol........ Don't want this key point to get lost --- mixing is just the first application, the list is long and the potential is huge, and since the foundation has been built and deployed, it is now time to build on that foundation.... with some revolutionary concepts and idea's.....

Also the infrastructure for this will support numerous other applications, such as encrypted messaging, P2P exchange..etc granted we can only develop new features so fast, but we are putting the foundation for a multi-use, multi-purpose platform
1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] >> Mandatory Update to new Wallet - The first POS ANON on: May 29, 2014, 04:38:30 PM
Well done and thank you. I think it was only a matter of time until we had to take this step and it's better we do it now than at 1500 pages.

I recommend linking to this topic at the very top of the first page of the original locked topic as well. You may also want to share your account password with a couple of other trusted people in the community so they can moderate the topic in different time zones when you're asleep. Just an idea.

A good tip for identifying a troll is to spend 1 minute going through their post history.

Looking forward to a mostly troll free discussion  Cool

Really dev keep silence

only talkers keep talking..

the bus is over -_-z

All issues have been concerned. The dev is working hard to bring you the code review.

Buying in terror
Sold in happy

Ok keep going-_-z~

I would rather he was coding than wasting time talking to trolls on here. He spoke briefly earlier to clear the FUD.
1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS - no IPO| Anonymous POS in development on: May 29, 2014, 03:57:56 PM
You definitely have earned that "Ingnored". Hope we get a second moderated thread soon. Can t take it anymore. To much bs and not enough serious xc stuff.

It's al-right, no need for any moderation! You can stop feeding them now Tongue

@altsecure, really good job so far, just like eduff did for dark, thoughts are with you and don't let the haters get you down  Kiss

It s not about feeding them or not. They keep going anyhow whether they get reactions or not. This thread has lost most of his quality by not being moderated. Furthermore i was talking about a second thread which means anyone would be free to enjoy the bs talk here. I m sure not many would do so.

Trust me I saw what trolls did to the old unmoderated BlackCoin thread. It was literally flooded with sockpuppet accounts on every page spreading FUD. As soon the topic switched to moderated and the trolls saw their posts getting deleted the topic became readable again.

I'd rather not see it happen though. It took a few weeks of trolling before BC team folded and made it self-moderated, so lets see what happens here.

I hope we can keep it clean and professional. No way to do so without moderation. You could say: "Ignore" them. But i d have to ignore the reactions to them as well, even if they came from serious xc dudes. Not moderated means not readable means not worthy of xc, its developer and members.

Lets ask Teka. The only downside with a self moderated topic is that it will need a new topic created, as you can't make an existing topic retrospectively self moderated.

We are listening to your concerns and are taking note.

Thanks. Just wanted to say btw I am very impressed with how you are representing the community with your posts. Professional and cordial at all times.
