801  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: CoinShuffle: Practical Decentralized Coin Mixing for Bitcoin on: September 09, 2014, 10:49:35 PM
Is this system better than DarkCoin (which is not CoinJoin like many people believe)?

Has the DarkCoin mixing algorithm been made open source?
802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: September 09, 2014, 10:42:25 PM
Seems like the more XC advances the more haters come out of the woodwork. When XC overtakes litecoin gonna be a all out altcoin war.
That happened before with XC and DRK, people just went bat shit insane with FUD.

Haha yeah I remember that. I wonder where XC would be now price wise if the DRK FUD hadn't happened.

Long term thought it doesn't matter to me, the fundamentals of XC are solid and the tech is growing each week. I honestly believe the price could triple and we would still be undervalued.

I'm proud to be an XC holder so early in the project. The privacy platform is just the beginning.
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Jasinlee - one of XC's Team Members is a master fraudster on: September 09, 2014, 07:34:26 PM
On the 5th - an official says he is a team member.  Which corroborates what I was told on the chat thread until I made this one.

On the 9th - it is told that he has not been a team member since he was taken off the website months ago.

Pardon my skepticism.

Regardless of whether Jasinlee was or wasn't a developer the fact is he isn't on the XC team anymore. OP isn't retarded and knows this - what does this say about the OP and his intentions here, if they are not already obvious.

If they lied in their "official announcement" the it matters not what my "intentions" are.

A - "He is a team member" (5th)
B - "He has not been a team member since he was taken off website (months ago)" (9th)
C - Either they lied that he "was" a team member on the 5th.  Or they lied that he is no longer a team member.  Hence I believe nothing.  If others wish to believe/invest in a coin that has officials who lie (& can't even get their stories straight) that is their business.

I've changed the topic to Team Member in light of all the requests (contrary to all the shit that's been said about me I try to be honest and I try to figure out the truth and change the OP to reflect that)

Or D. Someone on the team made a mistake. It's a highly complex project with a large team of people.

Bottom line is the XC lead developer has told you Jasinlee is not on the XC team anymore. Yet you refuse to accept this? The only reason you refuse to accept this simple obvious truth is because it will leave you with nothing to cry about. So you pretend like somehow there is a crazy conspiracy of Jasinee still secretly on the XC team?  Cheesy

You are just pissed you've lost money in something involving Jasinlee and are childishly lashing out at anything you can. I feel pity for you that you're a 28 year old man who is making these embarrassing posts, I assumed it was a 16 year old.

Hence the title is completely incorrect.

To get further into it, the XC team have clarified that Jasinlee didn't contribute a single line of code to XC and Jasinlee received no funds from the XC team. He was potentially going to do work with XC in the future in partnership with Cache, which never came into fruition as it was a long term plan in the distant future.

Don't forget Dan gets insights into the closed source codebase of many competing coins. Think what he learns from that.
807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: September 07, 2014, 11:16:56 PM
It seems that Jasin was brought on board with the intention of one day in the future being a developer. But things never progressed to the point where he started working on an XC/CACHE link. It was only ideas and concepts.

And as we can see XC team have responded by removing any link with Jasin.

So what's the damn problem??

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Btw, theymos who is the forum admin posted a while back:

If you ask someone to leave your topic and they keep posting, they will be banned. PM me in such cases.

If the trolling doesn't stop after the statement has been issued I suggest you bear the above in mind Teka.
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to destroy Monero (XMR)? on: September 07, 2014, 12:53:04 AM
The volume was about 2-300 BTC a day on Poloniex for a few weeks, as was well documented on this forum.

To say nobody has made money on it, and quoting an average price is absurd, especially from someone regularly using market terms and speaking about XMR as if it was an exciting investment opportunity.

As you can see from the chart, there has been quite a large gulf between high and low. The volume today is being quoted as $120k  (which I believe is about average for the last month). The market cap is quoted as $6,3m, which is quite a bit higher than the $2m it it was valued at in May.

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/monero/

So either people have made a bundle, or the trading has been fake.

I agree. OP is plain wrong on that point.

Market cap though is determined by coin quantity too which has increased massively since May. Even if price did remain the same, the market cap still would have increased significantly.

On the first exchange you could buy/sell XMR on the price was hovering around 10. But the trade volume was low. It's around 40 now. That 4 times increase is a nice gain but pales in comparison to what I have made off other coins that I bought early that went on to be winners.

The point OP is trying to make is the coin is fairer than most coins.

810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to destroy Monero (XMR)? on: September 07, 2014, 12:41:22 AM
This entire subforum is a cesspit of greed, jealousy and hate.

Every coin I have been involved with in recent months (XMR, XC and BC) have all had to withstand substantial FUD and smear campaigns.

Arlyn/teka/Dan, can we seriously considered banning these people talking about jxxxxx ? Not even going to mention the name. This is getting really annoying and distracting.

We should have a definitive post somewhere in this topic about the Jasin situation. Any "new" accounts that pop up and spam FUD, first time they post we link them to it, any future posts on the topic - delete. Any existing fudders on the Jasin issue - delete all their posts to do with it.

rdnkjdi should be banned from posting in here in my opinion.

I'd already noticed over the last week that anything he says is just constant negativity. Then just now I noticed his topic here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=770801.0 where he is encouraging everyone not buy XC and other rubbish.

Because Jasinlee has pissed him off in some way he's conducting a smear campaign against XC.

Ive read this thread daily since it started. And I can tell you that rdnkdji has never had anything positive to say. He tries to hide his troll with semi legitimate questions every now and then, but don't be fooled, he's pure troll.

You hit the nail bang on the head there.

People need to stop being dumb and selling.

I am wondering why they are doing that.

i dont agree with you on that one.

if you are going to hold until there is a billion dollar market cap you dont need more than 10k xc to see what most of the world would consider tremendous wealth, but if you dont spread out the coins amongst more investors than you will never see the billion dollar market cap to start with.

lets be honest about it, an anonymous easy to use communication platform is worth a billion dollars.
but unless there are 100 million people using it it is not even worth worth a few million dollars until the idea has been patented and is made marketable, therefore we need to get all of cryptoland involved before this idea is made mainstream outside of XC's control, or xc will just be a speculators toy and dan might as well have just worked for the CIA or google.

Gotta agree with you here.  Hoping the big push planned with Rev3 will bring this.

Anyone know if the huge BTC bounty for cracking the anon is still planned to happen with Rev3?  Gotta think that will open eyes and be huge news in the crypto world.

It Is indeed 100 BTC  Grin Grin Grin Grin

that official???

No it is not official the Bounty is official the amount is suggested by me. I think everyone of the top 100 can donate 1 BTC after the 10-20X increase in price that there will be with Rev3 so we can make the Bounty 100 BTC.. think about the free advertising we will get..

HUGE

Good plan. the suggestion of 100 BTC certainly just got my attention and will surely do the same for the rest of cryptoland!

I honestly think it's a bit large and the community will struggle to raise those funds.

10 BTC is more than adequate. That's several thousand free dollars if someone can crack it - plenty of incentive.

I know the bigger the amount the more attention, i just want to keep expectations realistic before we run away with this 100 BTC idea.

Just as important as a bounty is a clear technical summary that compares all of the leading anon coins.

Average Joe out there needs a clear conclusion which coin/s provide the best anon technology. Which is "most" anon and so on.

This takes time from someone who knows how all these coins work, perhaps only Dan can do it. But I think it will pay off. Sure it will ruffle some feathers but I think it's necessary.

Hey ,
I know  we have much news today and the xc -team is very busy ,but is it complicated to build a 2 Fa Authentificator in the XC Wallet for more Security.
or  you think is not at all necessary and secure enough ?

Interesting question. What's at stake is whether we want a decentralised authenticator or not.

Do you want to rely on Google (or even us) for authentication?

Alternatively a multisig solution could work (say, 2-of-3, where one is your phone, the other your PC, and a third a paper wallet in case you lose/break a device).

Although I do use Google authenticator in a lot of places, a multisig solution would be much better imo.

Indeed. The thought of having to regain access to innumerable services once my phone eventually breaks is a real concern.

Multisig would sort this out.

(In addition to the increased decentralisation, of course.)

Reminds of this r/bitcoin topic I read recently: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2etbsx/bitcoin_authenticator_decentralized_2fa_and_next/

XCurrency seems heavily under valued to me. A lot of what XC has planned in Rev 3 reminds me of Maidsafe.

I see us ranking up there with Bitshares on coinmarket cap in the next 6 months (i.e. 15 to 20 times increase in price). The market loves innovative new tech and XC just keeps bringing more and more to the table.

And as a big XC holder I will definitely throw some of my holdings towards the XC team to further development when that happens.

From twitter :

KEY team has hired developer Dan Metcalf of XC for the ongoing Dev of our KEY OS. We're looking forward to more innovation! Thanks Dan!

wtf :/

Designing, Building and Securing operating systems is something I do for a living, and have been since the 90's.  This was just a small project in the giant bucket of projects of which XC consumes the majority of.  Being in business requires projects both big and small to be successful.

I live, breath and eat, XC, all the time - and that will never change.

It's a smart move on your part.

XC is eventually going to be fully open sourced anyway.

Helping another coin in a small way just further establishes you as the privacy coin guru and spreads the word about XC further.
820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: September 01, 2014, 08:10:04 PM

i keep tabs on coindesk and cointelegraph for all my news. coindesk is certainly larger and has more readers though

So after much hard work XC has moved from pumpcoin, to dumpcoin, to a coin with credibility, to a coin that gets original articles on major crypto news sites.

Next: more original articles on major crypto sites... and then some on major tech blogs.

Onwards and upwards!

P.S. Now you know where I've been lately. That, and having general gadget breakdown.

Great work!
