1021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 13, 2014, 11:30:58 PM
So I notice our friend Chaeplin, is doing a lot of talking in the other XC topic and his criticisms fall into two categories below which I respond to here:

1. Xnodes could in theory "steal" XC.

Answer: My understanding is that Rev 2 will have a trust learning algorithm and the dev has said coins cannot be stolen. However if we look at DRK, I believe they use signatures which removes the incentive for mixer nodes to steal the mixed coins. Why don't we also do that ON TOP of the trust learning algorithm? Then we have the best of both and that completely destroys the argument.

2. XC transfer is not anonymous and can be linked

Answer: Dev has an open challenge right now that hasn't been solved yet, based on the new multi-path protocol. I'm confident in the devs ability. I would also be interested to see whether Chaeplins methods can be applied to DRK?
1022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unmoderated XC thread on: June 13, 2014, 11:12:53 PM

With XC you have to trust the mixer isn't logging the data and that the mixer won't steal your coins. Giving control of your coins to another entity is just asking for trouble.
Thansk I appreciate your (and others input here)
So..with DRK the nodes merely witness the change of ownership and verify it?
But with a mixer the coins pass into the mixer (rather than merely being witnessed) and then have to be "allowed" out the other end?
Can you expand?

1.Where exactly is the "mixer"?

2.If the source is open, then would that mean coins could not be stolen?

3.The developer of XC stated "mixers don't steal coins".....but you seem to think they can? So how would a mixer steal coins?

It's simple.

You send coins to a address issued by mixer and mixer has private key of the address issued.

so how mixer steal it? isn't the mixer program to mix/forward the coins? from what i understand you think mixer can just keep/steal the coin or perhaps forwards to different address? but how?

Shutdown computer, lock wallet, diconnect network, power failure.

Mixer program should/will mix/forward the coins.

Owner of the mixer is problem..

Do you know that mixer takes input/coins and waits at least 2 ~ 3 more blocks confirmation before forwards the coins.

3.The developer of XC stated "mixers don't steal coins".....but you seem to think they can? So how would a mixer steal coins?

True, People steal coins.

DRK is a mixer too and they solve this issue by using signatures which removes the incentive for DRK nodes to steal. We both know that XC can use this same idea to solve the issue too. Funny how you don't mention it though.

You pretend well but your ultimate aim is to make XC look bad, not really to "help".

Thanks for the responses guys.

I've received 6 private messages from this guy now Roll Eyes Some of them v weird. I'm not responding to him and I think he's given up.

I agree it's probably just another internet tough guy. But hinting at a bounty being put on my head is a bit much. If I stop posting on the forums, you all know why...
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 13, 2014, 08:30:21 PM

You can report me using the function "report to moderator", but you are talking bullshit, so you can't.

You come here for FUD, everybody see you are talking about DRK here everytime.... Me? i never talk about drk (except when i reply to your stupid FUD, like in this message)

Stop talk about DRK, we don't care about your DRK and Monero.... move away if you want to defame/promote this 2 coins.

ps: and why you don't call the police or admin if i'm threatening you?

You must have little to no contact with the "real world" if you think it's acceptable behaviour to threaten someone with bullets and a bounty on their head because you disagree with their opinion.

DRK is our number one competitor we get judged by and as everyone has noticed we get many DRK supporters posting in this topic. If you don't like my posts, ignore me.

And yes I have reported you.
1025  Other / Meta / I am receiving repeated death threats from a forum member on: June 13, 2014, 08:26:39 PM
Member hashnine is sending me private messages talking about a bounty being put on my head and then followed it up with another saying he's not joking about a bullet going in my head.  Huh

This is related to DRK coin.

He doesn't seem to like the competition of XC and started today when I quoted him calling XC a scam! He decided to send me private messages which I have ignored. Death threats should not be acceptable. The alt coin forum does attract a fair amount of nutjobs so I would appreciate a response from the site admins about this.

I have of course notified them earlier today but since then I've heard nothing and now more messages in my inbox from this wacko.  Huh
1026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 13, 2014, 08:19:00 PM
Putting this in the public domain - just received another death threat from hashnine in a private message:

You really think that i joke about the bullet in your head?

 Roll Eyes

Presumably he does't like me comparing XC to DRK. These DRK trolls are getting very scared if they are trying to silence us with death threats.

I would appreciate if people can report this to the moderators please.

The issue is not premine. It is:
- lack of transparency about it. Even more, lack of presence of the dev. Extremely busy is not an excuse. When you are extremely busy, you do something about it, like finding someone to replace you, at least temporarily or at least publicly ask for it.
- tyranical behaviour/scare tactics of demodding and deleting post.

When I repeatedly questioned the premine spending I was labelled a troll until I sold all my MINT off (long ago thankfully, still in profit).

I also questioned the attitude of the dev for encouraging people to sell when the price started crashing from 60 satoshis downwards.

Seems like now the price has hit rock bottom and even the people who bought in at 7 satoshis are feeling pain, people are starting to wake up.

Maybe people think you're a troll because you dig up old posts that have already been responded to, ...maybe.
It's two pages back.

When REV2 is released and has been tested for bugs it is crucial that we compare it's anonymity to DRK.

So far whenever a new release of XC comes out, Chaeplin comes in to spread FUD with technical stuff most people don't understand. Since DRK is based on mixing too I am sure what he says applies to DRK equally.
1030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 13, 2014, 01:17:14 PM

I just wanted to provide an update on the release coming tonight or tomorrow.

REV1.5 - will be released - which will support MULTI-PATH mixer to mixer transactions.  Testing is underway now and will be released for "a larger" test audience once the team is comfortable with the results and performance.

ATCSECURE

Can't wait.

most competent dev after satoshi!

Definitely the fastest dev I have seen.

But what else would you expect from this guy: www.linkedin.com/pub/dan-metcalf/12/1a8/b82  Cool
1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 13, 2014, 12:53:24 PM
Disgusting. Report it to the moderators and to the police.

It has been reported to the site administrators.

He's scared that I compare XC to DRK. Anyway, I'm not posting about it anymore, I don't want to cause drama.

Great news from the dev, looks like we are are ahead of schedule  Cool Love how this dev just keeps coming back stronger and faster!
1033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 13, 2014, 12:52:31 PM
Hello all. This is to announce that I have taken on the role of PR and media liaison for XC.

I'm co-ordinating the PR side of the project and developing a great strategy based on XC's brand (which, as you're probably aware, is currently being created by Thrash).

You'll be hearing a lot of news from us in the near future: we'll be unveiling the development plan, the team, and of course be building up a wave of public awareness about XC's market-leading tech. So stick around, and anticipate big things.

Synechist

Please do us justice

We have been wronged for so long.

You might want to start with a better and more descriptive name for your coin. Previous 'X11Coin' name made it too clear that this coin was a ripoff from Darkcoin. Then it became XC, which is quite meaningless and random. What about 'Darkcoin Lite'?

That's a rubbish name. I don't think we'll use it.

I would like Stealthcoin or Privacycoin.
1034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 13, 2014, 12:39:46 PM
Just so you guys know, if you call out DRK troll ashnine for calling XC a scam and a pump and dump, he sends you private messages like this  Roll Eyes

but be careful to your head, if i found info about you, you can be sure that some peoples on black market are ready to kill you for some K of $.

So don't give a damn, keep calm and stop be jealous. Kiss
1035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 13, 2014, 09:49:08 AM
In the meantime, everyone should try to move their hashing power around to non-major pools in an effort to cut down on dust. Note that mining dust hurts your profitability as well, as you need to generate more tx (and spend more fees) in order to transfer it anywhere.

Exactly. Try to find a pool that is no bigger than 100-200x your own hashrate.

If you are only using one computer with 200 H/s, try to find a smaller pool that is 20 KH/s or smaller.

If you a larger miner, you can use the larger pools, but try to keep to the above guideline to avoid the dust issue.

Shortly: it's so easy to ask others to do this!

I am a tiny miner. But I will not go to a pool with less that 100kH/s. Why? Because I am not patient enough to wait maybe one day for a block. And I am sure that many others think the same.
So, if you want the many small miners to move their hashing power, you big miners should do that first. From one pool of 1.5 GH/s there's plenty of you that can move around. The others (us) will have then real choices.

Honestly you have no choice. I'm not suggesting this here for the purpose of balancing the network, but for your own benefit. If you mine with a big pool using the current pool software, you will receive many tiny payments (dust) that you either won't be able to spend at all or will only be able to spend with a complex process of sending multiple transaction and paying a lot of transaction fees.

BTW, the net hash rate is about 5m. A pool with a hash rate of 50k should get about 1% of the network blocks, which is 14 blocks per day, much more than one per day.

Any pool with 50kh that makes you wait a day to find a block is broken, which unfortunately is more common than it should be given issues with the pool software.

Follow my advice if you want to get decent returns on your mining. Really.

Thanks for the advice.

Can you stop talking bullshit? you made a competition between XC and DRK, it's you who continue.

You really think that price decreased because some people talk about DRK here? LMAO  Cheesy Cheesy

Finally, there have more kids like you who talk about DRK, than DRK fanboys (do you realize that?)

You are the one lowering the tone of this discussion.

All I see in your post history is arguing with people in this topic and posting rubbish like this:

We know... because XC is a pump and dump coin with a stupid community.

I'm tired of all this scam. Bye.

From your post history I can read you got into DRK early and you are scared of XC's potential. No wonder you don't want XC compared to DRK because XC is a better version of DRK already. The nodes of XC can be ran in any wallet. When R2 comes out with encrypted real time messaging, multipath TOR-like anonymity and the marketing begins, I expect DRK to crumble and XC to rise like a phoenix.

I would be interested in buying some of these before you go live with the exchange. Buying either from the developer or an IPO backer. If this is possible, let me know plz.

The only way to buy it currently is somebody's whole account.

Or a private arrangement with someone, who will promise to honor it and send you the part you bought when the exchange opens.

Cool. If anyone is wishing to sell their whole account, please PM me with an offer. I have been a member for over a year and have made numerous trades all of which have been successful.

There's simply too many good things happening with this coin for it not to rise higher in price.

I expect a substantial upwards price correction sometime within the next two/three weeks. As usual in crypto, it will occur sharply.

Exactly, suddenly all hell will break loose and sell walls will just be taken apart... Anytime now I think we will see some substantial action.. I expect larger scale investors will want to be in position before R2 is released.

Yes. The price has also been artificially suppressed by a consistent FUD campaign waged by fearful DRK holders.

If the XC development schedule goes to plan as expected we will see XC rise in spectacular fashion to DRK's market capitalisation within the next month i.e. a 10 times increase in price. And in the short term I predict a nice double up in price as a minimum, before R2 is released.

I am well positioned with my XC holdings to take advantage of this inevitable pump  Cheesy
