1121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS | 3 Exchanges | The first POS X11 anonymous wallet on: May 26, 2014, 09:12:45 PM
How much of this dev work is going to be open source? What's to stop the competition just ripping off all the ideas?

^ Not trolling, serious question.

Part of DRK's success has been no-one being able to clone dark send easily due to it being closed source for now.

wherein payment to the developers will be issued once the project is up and running.

What do you gain as in investor in a BlackCoin Project such as this you might be wondering?

and what does it give the community?

- True decentralized freedom from exchanges and other centralized bodies
- We get a chance to show everyone that Rat4 is not the only one involved in the development of BlackCoins backend anyone who is ambitious can join.
- We create further trust and commitment from long term holders who will continue to support BlackCoin as it continues to expand and improve its infrastructure.
- We wish to show the world that BlackCoin cares deeply about its community and its extremely talented pool of developers and programmers.
- Together too, and this must be stressed it is important to give back to those that do so much.
That is why it is important to have a donation based incentive because it gives the community
a chance to be empowered in knowing that a small amount can make a huge difference in their holdings in such a small amount of time.
- The more professional and innovative our developments that come out of BlackCoin and all future develops ensure
that we continue to see a price increase from now to the remainder of 2014.

Here at BlackCoin, we are innovators. We are not afraid to try something new that is best for the community.
But, we also want to help set the stage. This is just the beginning.
In the future the bounty for projects such as these will be worth far greater than we can imagine at present time.
As time goes on, we will set the norms in the world of digital currency; and that norm is that when people
are willing to work hard for digital currencies like BlackCoin, to help make them even greater.
We are there to reward you every step of way.

you more accordingly in the off chance you wish to pursue a refund at ANY point
during the development. As long as we have a paper trail we can ensure that no issues come
up when someone wants to take back their donation.

Donations can be refunded at any time (circumstances change, we understand). So you can be safe in knowing that you can give and still ,
get your funds back if necessary given personal circumstances.

1124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 26, 2014, 08:44:24 PM
I wonder if the dev/tacotime would consider lowering the coin emission rate?

XC has sharply reduced the number of coins from 33 million to 6 million. DRK had coin supply changes.

Seems with anon coins, it's the tech that's most important, people don't care much about premines, instamines, coin supply changes.

I for one would be pretty happy with the same amount of coins being produced, but over a longer time scale. So no-one loses out on gaining MRO in the future but the amount mined per day is reduced. There's been a good few weeks mining at the current state as well. Obviously this benefits current holders, what do you guys think?
1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 26, 2014, 08:40:04 PM
This level of greed and hysteria is always a sign you're in a bubble. Reminds me of some of Bitcoin's bubbles.

The drop down from here is going to be sharp and very quick. Rises like this are never sustainable.

I will quote this in 2 weeks.

Turns out I only needed a few days to quote my prediction.

From 0.025 to where we are now at cryptsy: 0.013-0.015
1126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / I have several bitcoin addresses in a QT wallet but want to spend from 1 only on: May 26, 2014, 06:10:29 PM
I have 3 addresses with large amounts of Bitcoin, that all belong in the same wallet.

On the rich list they appear as 3 different addresses.

I want to spend Bitcoin from my wallet. Can I force the QT wallet to make it look like the Bitcoin I send comes from only one of those 3 addresses?

The addresses hold roughly equal amounts.

Thanks.
1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IMPORTANT LIBERTYCOIN SCAM EXPOSED XLB on: May 26, 2014, 05:52:02 PM
Anyone with a brain can see there are a ton of fake accounts posting in that Libertycoin topic.

FUCKING idiots... WHY ARE YOU SELLING Huh Cheesy Hope you will lost your DRK and never bay them back Smiley

Because the bubble is bursting? I posted here a few days ago saying the hysteria and mania is a clear sign we're in for a sharp price drop. The smart people are getting out with their huge profits now before the entire house of cards comes collapsing down. Anonymity isn't anything special anymore. Any cryptonote coin like MRO does it. Blackcoin is developing it. Xcoin does it. More and more coins are adding anonymity protection.

At least MRO doesn't fork constantly and has better anonymity actually baked into the protocol from the get-go, rather than clumsily bolted on as an after thought to the Bitcoin protocol.

Your USP has evaporated into thin air.

When this dips beneath 0.02, expect a slaughter.

Well well well. DRK has dipped below 0.02 quite dramatically minutes after my post.

GG gentlemen.

1131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: May 25, 2014, 11:58:01 PM
This exchange is really a piece of crap for trading monero. Deposits dont show up. WIthdrawals always error.

Is monero too hard to use reliably?

No you're confusing it with instamined darkcoin.
1132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS | 3 Exchanges | The first POS X11 Anonnymous wallet!! on: May 25, 2014, 11:54:09 PM
So, was the coin count reduced?
max coin is 33.3 mil 9(?)

no reduced to 10m I think

10m really?

so how long is the pow from now?

Some very valid arguments were made for reducing the coin count to about 10M so yes thats on the table and since we are about 50% of that now there is still a fair distribution opportunity

So you're making it up as you go along. Cool.
1133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Slimcoin : Proof of Burn NEW BLOCK GEN, Mineable by low power computer! on: May 25, 2014, 11:51:28 PM
White paper reading!!! Good to see some innovation.

what's the innovation?

It's basically proof of stake.

The mining on blackberry thing applies equally to pure proof of stake coins.
1134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 25, 2014, 09:50:39 PM
No you have to look at market cap as at least one factor, not just coin price. QCN mines 1/4 as many coins as MRO (for now, at some point the curves will cross). So it would have to be valued at 4x as much to be par. Think about it, if you have a coin where you only issue 0.1 coins per day, and assuming that coin had any kind of promise at all, the value per coin would be huge. The total market cap might not be any different though.

What about the fact that MRO devs do all the work, and QCN just syncs in the changes?
So just due to couple of variables tuned, it still going to be worth as much as MRO?

You can say that about any coin and it's clones.

Building up successful community support, projects and infrastructure is what makes or breaks a coin in the long run.

1137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 25, 2014, 08:32:00 PM
We should keep a clearly maintained list of enhancements or extras MRO has brought to the cryptonote codebase.

For example the pools. And the GUI that is being worked on.

This helps us compare favourably to BCN in terms of advancing the cryptonote ecosystem.

Will this become a pure proof of stake coin anytime soon? What is the schedule?

The coin will still have the extended POW but the # of coins produced by POW will be greatly reduced moving forward

What is the schedule for that?

Also what is the block reward?

within 5-10days

When you switch over to reduced PoW block reward, what size will the POS and PoW block rewards be respectively? That is my last question. If the PoW block reward is too low then this will disincentivize people from doing PoW mining and the dev of BlackCoin demonstrated a hybrid PoW/PoS coin with low PoW reward is typically wide open to a 51% attack.
