The multi-pool was another member idea.
The 2 two press releases was the community.
CoinKite was the community.
The cards were me.
Vault Of Satoshi was the community lead by me.
Wall Street is currently the community.
Moolah and related services was the community.
So... I'm just just "another member"? Thanks for acknowledging me.  Most of the BC community has no idea that it was actually me who came up with the MP idea. And this idea may have been the most important one because it is the one that got us off 500 satoshi and into many developments (including yours) that followed it. Yet I don't go around asking for donations or acting like some kind of God in the BC community. I simply do what I am good at. I continue to contribute in whatever ways I can (I'm effectively working 7 days a week with my pool now), I spend money out of my own pocket now on BC because I believe in giving back (BC has been to go me, so I will be good back to it to form the positive endless feedback cycle), and in the end, I really don't care if I get some sort of credit or acknowledgement from the BlackCoin community. Because in the end, if we "get there", we all win and that's all that matters... Honestly I never knew that was your idea. It definitely was a big spark for us in price. Thanks  |

So you are proposing splitting the community? Because that is what will happen and cause more confusion than we have now. You cannot have two communities claiming and representing the same coin...
Iconic plz stop this language. No-one is proposing to split the community. Ok lets tone it down a bit. If you look at my plan yesterday I proposed the dev team focus on the technology and let the community focus on PR and the business side of things. I see nothing wrong with that since the dev team PR efforts have been lacking.
To your previous question before you deleted it... This is the kind of hypocrisy that goes on around here. When Muffin threatened to leave and take a few people with him, why didn't you call him out on that? But when I respond you just focus on my comment? I have no desire to harm my investment or the investment of others. I didn't work this hard to watch it all burn. But ill be damned if I keep letting people threaten and personally bash me. I will say again...when someone posted the fake IP address and claimed I was from India where was the outrage then? When I posted definitive proof I was from the Tri - State area...where was the apologies? I guess I am being held to one standard while others are not....
Iconic my suggestion is to move the bulk of your activities over to r/blackcoin I don't know why but there is virtually no arguing over there. And of course you will encounter far less trolls. I also agree with Colinfx, we need to all be on the same team here. The Blackcoin foundation can do their marketing, you can do your marketing. There is room for both. Blackcoin has had a great day! Let's build on this upward price momentum, get our heads down, and work! |

to hold or not to hold that is the question  This coin is 2 weeks old.. The dev is still going to release his multipool. And he has no reason not to reply right now. He could buy a shit load of coins now and then come up with some great news and price goes up. So no fucking reason for him to leave all of sudden. I love his website its gorgeous. Everytime went smooth. He even posted videos on how wallet worked etc, how to mine etc. You are a retard if you sell after 2 weeks. Even blackcoin wich got dumped at 3k really really hard, went back up. It went to 90k got a big big dump to 15k and went back to 50k before setting a floor at 25k yea right. This cione will hit 2k again soon BC dumped exactly 9400 satoshi to 3000 in 3 days You cant compare BC with AC its like comparing Bitcoin with Litecoin. Reddit Screenname ChangeGuys! I just wanted to let everyone know I had to change my reddit screen name and create a new one. According to one of the mods the auto-mod bot kept flagging and deleting all my posts, kind of counter intuitive when I am looking for developers for my personal BC related projects. Hey
Im currently building an exchange only for Blackcoin / Fiat. No other crap coins. It's not entirely an exchange since there will be no sell/buy orders. Only instant trades, no accounts that hold coins, so no security problems. Payments will be done via Mistercash, iDEAL, Paypal and several other instant payment options. The trade platform will only be made exclusively for Blackcoin. I will also be working on an merchant API next to the exchange.
Basicly its much like Bitonic.nl - but then for Blackcoin only.
I need some help though. First of all. A name. I was thinking about Blacksafe myself, but could be different aswell. If you got some idea's. Throw them at me!
Next, im all open for new ideas. For an example: should it be a member only trade platform, or something different? Maybe something cool would be if the members of the platform get a free Blackcoincard. Not sure.. just some idea's.. anyone else got some idea's? Let me know! I want this exchange to be UNIQUE and EXCLUSIVE.
I recommend bank wires over paypal. Make the site open to anyone but keep it blackcoin only. You basically want to make a coinbase type site but for Blackcoin. Anyone can easily and quickly instantly buy Blackcoins for cash. Once it's gets usage then build in merchant tools. I have been considering building such a service myself as I already have half the code for an exchange done from a previous project of mine. But I am wary of potential legal issues. well coin has been out for a little over 60 days. they are going to start seeing the name blackcoin more and more. Last time we hit critcal mass we almost topped dogecoins market cap. next time we double or triple that and could bounce of 100 million marketcap. Nobody ever did a card for cryptos, this should be an headline by its own, just about the card and BlackCoin. The next time they will talk about BlackCoin now is only if the price eventually soars to a level that they cannot avoid or we have to wait for the Wall Street event... So it was kind of boring for me, but better than nothing... Actually I thought it's good coverage. It's primarily a site for bitcoin news so anything we get on there is a start. |

What happened with maidsafe in a regulated market would actually be illegal. People have served jail time for dodgy IPO offerings which screw investors. You would make a great lawyer for those people arguing that a fool and his money is easily parted. At no part in the fund raising process was it made clear on the website that a huge amount of people were acquiring the coins signicantly cheaper than I was. In fact the website even implied that a 40% bonus would ensure a level playing field for all participants. |

Mint was first for the POS, black coin was just a copy.. but I do think they were better at advertising the idea than mint.
They are just changing claims because they lost that argument.. so now it is the multipool. WHich isnt as self pump or awesome as people pretend. Its like standing on a board and lifting the bored up. It does create some false volume, but it isnt this amazing self pump device people claim.
you can cut the middle man out and think about it. You mine declining value alt coins, sell for btc, buy BC and then turn around and sell BC. and that makes the price go up? Oh wait, lets multiple that by 1000 people.. that will work. Hey the false volume does have some psychological effects. If WC even touches 1500 satoshi the sell off will be so massive when it hit 2555 on mintpal there was no massive selloff.. well... not instantly..took a good week. but we all know what happend during that time its over halfway to your target sell price of 1500 currently, and the wallet is not even online yet -- a few days ago it hit 1100... and we were still bailing water Lol. You don't understand how coins and markets work. It hit 2k because there were less coins in circulation (less to sell) and there were also less coins accumulated at a cheaper price to dump. Now there are more coins and more importantly there has been a long period of people accumulating coins at 1k or less. There are a shit ton of people who will sell to realise a profit if this failed project somehow rises. Trust me, it will take a miracle pump to bring this past 1500. |

thanks once more, good ideas.
I like the idea with an independent platform for all things that are about organization and infrastructure.
One thing we should keep in mind that we cannot focus on internet and the english-speaking part of the world only.
For example, Bitcoin has become pretty big in Germany by now but that started with a localized version of MtGox and later an "own" exchange bitcoin.de.
I would be happy to do translation/localization for websites, press releases and software (i am pretty sure i'll find something where i can help with coding as well...).
The more people we find who help with those localizations the more professional it will appear to potential investors from the respective countries.
I agree. We also want to hit China. We've scraped the surface with english speaking people, each further bit of penetration requires more effort, money and time. There's huge swathes of people out there we haven't even tapped into because of the language barrier. |

BlackCoin Community Plan
As promised I came up with a basic plan that we all can build upon over time. I think as a community need to be on the same page to achieve our common goal to make BlackCoin #1.
Before starting I was going to put this into a PDF and I decided to post it here so everyone can add whatever suggestions and comments to the plan. This is very long so please take a few minutes to read it.
Introduction:
Over the past few weeks this community has accomplished some amazing things in the name of BlackCoin, but lately we have lost focus on our main goal of making BlackCoin #1. Some of us have been conducting ourselves like juveniles on this forum, including myself. The first thing that needs to change around here is our decorum. We cannot continue to act the way we have been acting. There are some very talented and intelligent individuals here , and we do not have to attack each other to get our point across. We can have intense debates and still be respectful of each other. If and when trolls do enter our thread, we have to adopt a no tolerance policy. Do not quote them and kindly ask them to refrain from posting FUD. Do not aggressively engage or argue with them. This thread is key to attracting new talent and investors, and it needs to remain open but it also needs to remain fairly professional.
Mission:
Everyone keeps making the mistake of suggesting we can be the next Bitcoin. I do not want to be the next Bitcoin. In the eyes of the world Bitcoin doesn't exist. Yes we know about Bitcoin, and maybe 1 or 2 million people know about Bitcoin. However, if you ask 20 random people on the street if they know what Bitcoin is, I am willing to bet at least 19 of them would not have a clue what Bitcoin is. So although Bitcoin was the first, there is a very good opportunity to become the standard crypto-currency everyone knows and uses. There have been many examples in recent history when the first product to market is overshadowed by the newcomer because the newcomer had better marketing and branding.
Our mission is to strive to be the most recognized and used crypto-currency in the world.
Structure:
This is a hard one. BlackCoin is not a corporation and it will never be a corporation. It is a community funded project with many moving parts. However, it seems to have turned into a central organization with a community that has limited say. There are major issues with this approach but I will not address that now. Moving forward I propose we decentralize BlackCoin and turn it back into a community controlled project.
1. The development team focuses on development and the technical aspect of BlackCoin
2. The BlackCoin foundation focuses on supporting projects and whatever else they feel passionate about.
3. The community focuses on building the brand and handling the business side of BlackCoin. No one person or small group should decide the fate of BlackCoin.
I own the domain GoBlackCoin.com and we can turn that into a community hub for discussions, new ideas, projects, events, and everything else related to BlackCoin. We can have tutorials, market info,...etc..etc. Senior members of the BlackCoin community can be admins and mods. it will be a complete social network for the BlackCoin community. I can have that up and running by mid June.
Technology:
The current BlackCoin client is based off the original Bitcoin client. We should begin to move forward with a more unique design that is tailored more for BlackCoin. Every wallet client is pretty much a carbon copy of the previous client with little differences here and there. It is hard to portray unique and innovative when the software for the wallet is similar in design to every other wallet.
Using BlackCoin at retail locations will be made easier using CoinKite, but I must admit I think cypto is going backwards with this approach. Using cards and terminals to make purchases is 20th century technology, and I have no idea why the currency of the future needs to use redesigned 20th century technology. Google has it right with their technology using an ordinary smart phone to make purchases.
We need to make it easier and cost effective for any merchant to accept BlackCoins without the hassle of extra terminals and cards. There are tons of locations that already support Google's technology, and maybe we need to tie into that network somehow.
Marketing & Brand Awareness:
We have already proven that press releases have a positive effect on getting investors excited and garnering the attention of the crypto-community. But there is so much more we can be doing
a) Social media should be a top priority. We have members who have graciously offered to Tweet regularly and upload photos to Instagram. We must utilize every aspect of social media.
b) Events will be crucial to building brand awareness. The Wall Street event is just one example of how we need to be creative and think out the box. We need to sponsor small concerts, raise money for charities, and sponsor high profile non-crypto related events
c) Traditional print ads in magazines is an option we will need to explore. Bitcoin placed an ad in Wired Magazine. That was a good idea but I would have opted for one of the financial magazines first. We need to go where the money is, and financial magazines is where we need to be.
d) Times Square billboard! Yes we need to go big! At this time it is not feasible to buy a billboard in Times Square, but as the marketcap of BlackCoin increases we can have a BlackCoin billboard in the middle of Times Square.
e) Radio is also an option we need to pursue. Radio is not expensive at all and can be effective with the right ad and audience.
f) Celebrity endorsements. A-list celebrities are expensive, but there are very popular celebrities that are not exactly A-list but have a huge following. Their fees are significantly less than an A-list celebrity but can be just as effective at making BlackCoin popular.
g) Sponsor poker tournaments and have the players paid in BlackCoin.
Infrastructure & Partnerships:
We have been very lucky to have been added to some of the top exchanges and services in such a short span of time. I think as a community we have been very effective in this area and we just need to keep contacting services and keep requesting they add us.
Coinbase is a Bitcoin only service but I think they are rethinking their position on that. If we can show how powerful and innovate BlackCoin is, maybe in the future we can convince them to add us.
Every time I send BTC to an exchange it takes a lifetime to confirm. However, when you compare that to BlackCoin it seems almost instant. This is a major advantage and we need Bitcoin only services to understand Bitcoin is yesterdays technology.
Recruitment:
We need the most talented people onboard to help with this project. Talented and knowledgeable people are priceless, and we need to establish an environment that welcomes and nurtures talented people.
BlackCoin will succeed or fail based on the efforts of the community. Without a passionate and active community BlackCoin will slowly die like many coins before it.

Is there an updated wallet we need to download? Or does the change take effect with the blockchain synch? It is currenty purely a test, no new protocol just yet. This has to be tested extensively first. Has rat4/anyone else done a press release for this? What were the criticisms (s)he is trying to address and how will the new system differ from the previous one? Edit: If it is a test the press release might be ott, granted. But investors and potential investors will still be curious. We should be making more noise about this if the testing is successful. rat4 improving the the proof of stake algorithm would be a MAJOR bit of news. It's an advancement of cryptocurrency. I also strongly believe a portion of Peercoin investors will gain interest in Blackcoin if we improve upon their protocol. |

At the end of the day BTC investors were promised 17,000 maid for 1 btc (+40% bonus) and thats what was delivered. Nothing more, nothing less.

Your logic is ridiculous. I see a couple of other people defending this robbery with these insane arguments. So if 17000 maidsafecoins plunge to zero in value, nothing is lost right? Because you've still got your 17000 maidsafecoins worth nothing?  Simple fact is, anyone who invested via BTC (which was millions of dollars worth in total) have realised an instant loss. Btw what happened with maidsafe in a regulated market would actually be illegal. People have served jail time for dodgy IPO offerings which screw investors. So for people to come in here and say "oh you've still gotten your 17,000 maidsafe coins what's the problem? :trollface:" are making themselves look very ignorant indeed.
