1481  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BITSANE.COM Cryptocurrency Exchange Platform Is Now Live on: February 21, 2017, 07:34:34 AM
Of course those who want to withdraw should be allowed to withdraw and those who want to trade can trade. There are people like me who like to keep few bitcoin on exchange for easy availability.
Why you people are too ignorant to learn lessons from others life ? There were multiple incidents in which exchanged got hacked and the traders lost their capital.

If you just look for "easy availability", you might need to compromise your wealth one day or other. I am not speaking with respect to bitsane's security features. But in common, exchanges are are not wallet service providers to keep on saving with them.

The easy availability does not means he is keeping his entire resources on an exchange site. We all know, when it comes to trading, the difference between who will lose and who will gain could just be timing difference which is not even much. In that case, I dont see anything wrong in keeping small amount of money on an exchange so as to take advantage of opportunities that is very much time dependent...
1482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Squall Coin NO IPO, Made for you! STILL ALIVE on: February 20, 2017, 06:24:58 PM
hiya all,

I have seen a bigger interest in this coin recently, I want to thank everyone who is getting involved, A second batch of squall coins is now in production (design stage) I will update as and when coins are ready.

I am setting up more structure, I am making another website with node back-end and dice/explorer/richlist/faucet etc... front end to help this project.

I welcome any structural help for the coin, we are nearly in third year and I am still here! no scam coin, no shoddy alts, no ipo/ico funded by me, I have no ones money! and people are noticing this now  Roll Eyes

alt coins have a place, I am not calling all alts a scam, there are plenty of good ones with good developers, and plenty of pump and dump coins made for quick bucks, there is a use for most of these, but at the end of the day squall coin will be reliable and existing  Cool

I thank you all again, and my pr olubams, as long as one person likes my project, I will continue to develop this coin.

onwards and upwards.

Thank you @ squall for checking by... Against all odds, Squall is still standing and even in the face of several alts that have come and gone and with the initial hype that we saw in their early days, they could not keep it up, but for us we are still standing and we are not resting and hopefully we can support it to the point we all wanted. I cannot but express joy on the current auction that will end soon @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1788838.0 you also can be part of it by checking it out...
1483  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it profitable to run a Bitcoin faucet in 2017 on: February 20, 2017, 06:05:27 PM
Hi,

I have a question regarding your own BTC faucet. Is it profitable to run it in 2017?
I was thinking to run it via WordPress.
What initial investment is needed?

These days I dont think bitcoin faucets is really profitable only if advertisement on the site is bringing some level of decent income and even these days where bitcoin is now over 1k dollar then I see faucets sites giving 5 satoishis every 24hours because of running it might be too high. At the same time if it can be directed towards Newbies coming into the crypto-world I guess some people might be interested and no matter how since its free, its still worths it...
1484  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Start Up Finance Based On Islamic Sharia on: February 20, 2017, 05:35:07 PM
Matthew J. Martin is a 30-year-old who grow up in Earlville, New York as the son of a teacher and a skilled blue collar worker. He now lives in San Francisco, where he is building a business around using Bitcoin to allow Muslims around the world to participate in finance without breaking Islamic law.

Blossom is now based in Indonesia, where there is a demand for Islamic finance. While there wasn't enough demand for Islamic financing in the US, the opposite is true in Indonesia, where there are more than 200 million Muslims, according to Pew Research. "Eighty percent of the population is 'unbanked,'" Martin said. "There is a huge need for investment capital."

Blossom recently got its first investment from BMT Nusantara Condet, a financial institution that operates under Islamic principles.

"This investment will help 10 to 20 micro businesses within Indonesia to expand," Martin said. "The idea of helping people create their own businesses to earn a decent living holds a special place in my heart."

https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/the-bitcoin-startup-that-helps-muslims-get-loans-without-breaking-islamic-law

Its a good initiative, and I am sure he has good intentions but the reservations I have is why come with division? Bitcoin over the few years it has been in existence, has made transactions seamless where people pay for goods and services without caring for which faith you belong and scammers have also been there too without recourse to religion. But with this, I see it as now a means to separate Muslims from other people which I am sure negate the founding principles of the inventor of this technology.
1485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: On OneHash you can bet Trump resignation! on: February 20, 2017, 05:05:58 PM
What do you think? Is it possible that he will resign?

 https://www.onehash.com/category/special_events/politics

No matter how tough the seat is currently,no one in recent times has ever tasted power and then leave it willingly. Especially not in US. Although, we have had the former British Prime Minster resigned, but that is largely based on principle in which its the ideal thing to do. But Trump resigning is not something anyone should envisaged but who am I to know the heat he is feeling... Americans should be the one to decide that...
1486  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you with Mike Hearn? Has Bitcoin failed? Is it Dead on: February 20, 2017, 12:19:49 PM
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/innovations/wp/2016/01/19/r-i-p-bitcoin-its-time-to-move-on/?utm_term=.1d3cad23101a

The Washington Post declares bitcoin dead!

"Bitcoin was born with serious flaws.  It was unregulated and provided anonymity." - Uhh, actually these are a few of the reasons people liked it! And the weaknesses identified are two-fold: (1) Chinese ownership of mining and thus the money supply at creation, and (2) the transaction volume limitations.

They also allow those not familiar with Bitcoin's development to believe that Mike Hearn was a a creator. No knock to Mike at all, but developers and creator are quite different in Bitcoin. It's easy for anyone to assume that those two words mean the same thing. And here's Mike's blog post for reference: https://blog.plan99.net/the-resolution-of-the-bitcoin-experiment-dabb30201f7#.k7osat9yg

This is not the first time I am reading this and a lot of other prophecy proclaiming the demise of bitcoin. and some will even still come out again to announce its death. Sometimes I even wonder if bitcoin is immortal and cant die?. In my own country, I have even ready in one release where bitcoin is being likened to a ponzi scheme that will crash very soon but alas we are still here and even Switzerland is even taking giant strides in the use of bitcoin... But they wont stop but little did they know that all the prophesy of death is actually bringing in more popularity...
1487  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How can I spot Ponzi schemes? on: February 20, 2017, 12:10:59 PM
I'm pretty new to Bitcoin and the idea of cloud mining seems pretty appealing. However I keep hearing about Ponzi schemes which rely entirely on new members to stay alive.  Besides the blindingly obvious, what are the main signs that a service might be a Ponzi?

This is the simplest thing to answer. Just ask yourself one simple question, this thing this people or site is offering, in a sane society, is it even possible and if not bolt but if you are still not convinced, just go type in Google xxxx review and be watchful of the date of the review you are reading and from there you can make a decision whether to part with your money or not. Furthermore, if you do decide to move forward, just know that you have 99% chance that your money is not coming back...
1488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as form of payment for government services on: February 20, 2017, 12:05:18 PM
I went to verify and research if it is really true that bitcoins can be used to pay government services. I was surprised that there is one country that I have found that will accept bitcoins as a form of payment in exchange for government services. This is a very big news to all bitcoin users since it will spell out another price increase in bitcoins and a start of bitcoin legalization.

http://www.coindesk.com/swiss-city-bitcoin-payments-government-services/

What are your thought about it?

My thought about it is that it is a welcome development and also one in the right direction but we also need to be more careful because to the best of my understanding, for any government to accept the bitcoin then I see they have a way around the anonymity maybe from the forms to fill you then expose your wallet, then you are in the tax net immediately. But at the same time, its a commendable move and hopefully it can be sustained...
1489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to create a Bitcoin gambling site? on: February 20, 2017, 10:53:30 AM
What kind of knowledge do you need to create a gambling site? I assume many sites are written in Javascript? Or PHP? I am not saying that I think I could create a gambling site, but I find the topic interesting and wonder if some people here can share their knowledge about it, like how they got into it.

Based on what you asked, I guess the question is specific to some successful brand even on this forum as they are the ones that can be used as role model to answer your questions. The reason for that, is in my short time of being here, I have seen several gambling sites launched and fizzled away and that tells that its not only about the site that matters but other things in which the successful brands can only be able to talk about...
1490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your game and why? on: February 20, 2017, 10:49:29 AM
Gambling on sports remains my best because of the fact that it removes the stress of having to go through the process if analysis whether its the right time to gamble or not aside from that, if I will be rigged out, then it has to come from high level match fixing and not the gambling site because the winning and losing is universal. Another thing is the odds are provided for me in which I am at liberty to either go with it or not...
1491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to transfer BTC between addresses in the same wallet? on: February 19, 2017, 12:21:17 PM
This is something I have also tried doing but I couldnt even get an headway. I have a new address added and funded it now I want to transfer from that new wallet to previous wallet but what I noticed was it seems the money didnt move out and I have had difficulty in this. For those who were able to perform this on blockchain.info kindly give the steps necessary to make this happen...
1492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Gambling Movie on: February 19, 2017, 11:56:38 AM
Of all the listed movies there, I was surprised no one voted for King of Gamblers, thats my favorite till date even though its been a while since I watched, if opportunity presents itself, I am still going to love to re-watch the movie and the reason is because its a blend between action, crime and gamble to drive home points...
1493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Provably Fair for investors on: February 19, 2017, 11:36:26 AM
Today almost all gambling sites feature Provably Fair system for their games. If you are not familiar with it, it is based on cryptographic hashes - the result of each bet is based on 2 seeds, one of each comes from the player side and the other from the house side. This system is used to verify that every bet was truly random without any manipulation from both sides.

The problem here is there's a third side involved in gambling - investors. They invest their money into casinos bankroll and share profit when players lose, or cover house's loses when players win. Now my concern is that investors don't have any control over seeds, so there's a potential for abuse by casino operators. They could simply create player account and make fake winnings, since they know both seeds, and by doing this they will be stealing investor funds without any way to prove it. Of course investors will start withdrawing their money if they will see losses over long term, but this scam could be even more subtle, for example living investors with profit, just smaller than they should have earned so there wouldn't be any suspicions. Considering all this, I think gambling sites should extend Provably Fair system to cover investor side.

Your concern is right and even a source of concern to every investors engaging in bankrolling. But as you rightly noted an investors coming in with his money knows that there is a risk of losing his money at the same time the player coming to wager his own money is also aware of the same risk. So they are all in the same shoe and should be happy about and I think the provably fair system is good for both parties that will be happy that even if I lose my money either as a gambler or investor, what matters is I lost fairly...
1494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Supertition on: February 19, 2017, 11:26:13 AM
To me as a fair gambler, I dont believe in superstition rather in chance but for chronic gamblers who have made successful entries into gambling, they will have something that they believes works for them and if that is what is seen as superstition to others like me, then I am not in a position to judge them as they have right to their believe. Also, for me not believing in superstition, is a belief itself...
1495  Other / Meta / Re: Is bitcointalk preparing for 100 million users as bitcoin grows? on: February 18, 2017, 08:08:15 PM
100 million forum members, I think it's only theorical thing. Until now, bitcointalk have less than million registered users, and half of these users didn't made single post. I predict that real number of active bitcointalk users is around 100k people.
If bitcoin community will grow, it doesn't means that all these people will use bitcointalk. Not everyone is interested in discussions, signature campaign, spamming, ranting and etc. They only will use bitcoin as a currency.
But if forum community will grow, bitcointalk will need for more staff to control everything.

I agree with you and even in adding to that every thing in life is a phase and even those of us here now its a phase as we have had people who have even gotten to a higher rank at one point in time, then became inactive whether through life issues or they find interest somewhere else or it could be sickness or death so I will say that the more people comes, some other people are also dropping out of the forum...
1496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why people do not get Bitcoin. on: February 18, 2017, 06:53:15 PM
Several people that does not get, will be able to answer for themselves as whatever we might say will just be a form of guessing but we also need to categorize to those who are yet to get bitcoin because either they dont know about it or because they know about it and didnt just get. For the latter category I am sure quite a number of percentage will surely be involved if they know about it afterall one regrets quite a number of us have in common, is the fact that we didnt get in earlier...
1497  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we Manipulate Bitcoin price? on: February 18, 2017, 06:47:47 PM
Being an individual, it is almost impossible to manipulate bitcoin price unless you have few millions to trade in crypto currency market. However, if you have a group of traders with you with good numbers of investment, you may try to put some fake trading requests with good volume and you wish may be fulfilled. But the chance is rare.

Check the market cap of bitcoin. So it is not possible for an individual to fake bitcoin price. A million dollar may come handy there. Just a suggestion!

And that is the most important reason why it is very difficult for the manipulation of bitcoin price even going beyond individuals to more than 200 people. Bitcoin is so dispersed to make all of us agree an impossibility starting from the differences in time zone to the changes in offer price in our individual countries, volume is another thing among other factors that will mitigate against our agreement...
1498  Economy / Economics / Re: Capitalism on: February 16, 2017, 06:23:43 PM
People should promote local products and be proud, it would a good way to have economic progress for any country. Stopping capitalism will help to balance the socio-economic hierarchy.

Capitalism to me is still the best form of economic policy no matter how people paint to be bad. When some people try as much as possible to have sleepless light and later got successful then decides to change cars or live in expensive mansions then you see the community coming out to say what of the people that cannot afford one, but the issue is what were they looking when others are working hard to be successful. Thats what capitalism preaches to me that in as much you can work hard then you can be rich if luck is on your side not the economy that will restrict your growth at the expense of lazy people in the community...
1499  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BTC mining without external hardware? on: February 16, 2017, 04:02:48 PM
I was wondering how feasible mining is if I choose not to invest in any other hardware. I have a decent gaming rig dk if i will be able to mine on it.

I will advise that you dont even venture into that, the best way to go about minning these days is through hardware equipment because that is the only way you can see some returns as suggested by others. Let me also state that you shouldnt consider going the way of cloud mining for whatever reason because that will even worse off than your current position...
1500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bribing via bitcoin a good idea? on: February 16, 2017, 03:26:35 PM
From the ethical point of view bribing in whatever form is something that should be discouraged but there are some situations that you find yourself, you just have to bribe your way out so in this case, since bitcoin is money and the recipient is aware of that and also willing to accept it, then I say it should be used and the advantage with that is it can not be traced back to whoever is giving the bribe...
