Was he hoping for an offer from his "former" Team? Cheesy

lol Grin Dude is 33 years old and he should be happy to still have some good years in 2. Bundesliga Grin But that goal was pretty nice indeed, 99% of high paid forwards fail to put it in the net like that. A real circus shot. He must feel really bad, because of all the things Heidenheim didn't want to happen, an early Werder goal was probably #1. The game would/could have gone in a complete different direction, if Theuerkauf just would have thought like a forward being very keen to score a fantastic goal and instead kicking the ball into the stands, while trying to go for glory.

lol Cheesy I agree on the shot, it was nice but sadly into the wrong net...

his Face on this pic says alot...

Im pretty sure, Heidenheim will have a good year in the 2. Bundesliga. I wouldn't call the 2nd Bundesliga terrible, there are some good teams there to make any Bundesliga Team fight for the win...
We will see if Werder can catch themselves and hopefully play a better season then this one

Two nice (funny) facts during the relegation game from yesterday.

Suddenly about 50 fans entered for about 5 minutes the stadium. It seems, most of them were family members from the players.

A fan made noise with a frying pan and a soup ladle

Well done for Werder they managed to stay on the Bundesliga division.
It was the best thing to happen as Werder is a historical team that needs to stay in the first division. I hope they are going to have better luck next season and perform better.
Yeah better for them to improve, make some new contracts with good players...etc or else they will end up relegating the next season which is shameful for such good team honestly...
Same goes for Schalke and +11 ranked teams in general..
From the title race contender to struggle avoiding the relegation... that's a whole new level of bremen.

I'm not sure if it was because how poor their club management to let such historic club drowned and nearly inevitable to go down to lower division, or was it just unlucky season?

They should sign some big names... as investment of course.
The last season must be a precious learning for them ,that was indeed really close and such an intense match!

Yesterday, too, one could see what was lacking. The exploitation of opportunities. They had many good chances, but at the last moment the goalkeeper was better.

Game ended 2:2 with some late minutes drama as common on Heidenheim games. Congrats to Werder and all their supporters.

If it stayed 1:1 Werder would still gone trough because of the away goals. As soon as first goal happened it was impossible to get extra time in this match.

That first goal in this match threw away all my predictions and made most off my bets very hard to end favorably. Still I would have ended in very nice plus if game ended 1:1. I had quite large bets on under 2.5 goals and Werder total under 1.5 goals. This way only my 1X on Heidenheim hit with super late penalty so it wasn't total bust but it was near.

I thought I had a Hail Mary when that goal came in injury time... it was the last game waiting to complete 2 parlays, but yeah, they had to give away the penalty. Bremen fans will be partying until now, to survive the drop in such fashion, and I can't imagine a second set of fans more heartbroken than Heidenheim.

Good for you, and good games all. This wasn't such a bad ending to the season after all, was it now?

Ingolstadt looks completely lost today, which might be due to Nürnberg being super strong. The new coaches seem to have done good work in getting the players reset on a mental level again.
Apparently Ingolstadt coach Oral lied about the status of Stefan Kutschke being match-fit and thus I hope that Nürnberg will crush them, even if that loses my bet Grin

Congrats to Werder Bremen for stay in the First German League after the relegation match against Heidenheim.
It was an intresting match and in the End of the Game it was realy dramatic , Heidenheim played very well and hasnt got luck.
My bet on the game wasnt right but i also placed a bet that they stay in the League.

Well done for Werder they managed to stay on the Bundesliga division.
It was the best thing to happen as Werder is a historical team that needs to stay in the first division. I hope they are going to have better luck next season and perform better.

It was a bad match from both teams. Werder should not have deserved to stay in the Bundesliga and Heidenheim would not have deserved to be going up in the first league. The match was disappointing compared to the relegation matches of the past years.

Werder is definately a historic team, they haven't been demoted in 40 years...

At the beginning of the season I didn't see them fighting to stay in the first Bundesliga... they almost got to stay in 1st Bundesliga without having to score a goal themselves... although I must stay that own goal by Heidenheim was very curious and weird...

That's a cool fact. Glad that Bremen were able to progress in the relegation play-off. Bremen were so bold yesterday, they had good share of possession and were playing quite good not letting Heidenheim to make some good attacks. Also little bit sad for Heidenheim after thinking they were so close to get promotion to Bundesliga. But at least they were able to extend their home unbeaten record to 17 (13 Wins and 4 Draws since October,19) . Cheesy

Well, that wasn't really an interesting game to watch. Ingolstadt wasn't really able to bring up a fight today. And even though I am glad that Nürnberg will (most likely) stay in the league, I also feel a bit sorry for Ingoldstadt and their supporters.

Besides the usual disadvantages that a team from the lower league has to face (and which I already described earlier in this thread), Ingolstadt had a very stressful time schedule over the last couple of weeks. Remember, the third Bundesliga only had its restart in the end of May/beginning of June and had to play 38 matchdays instead of 34 like in the second Bundesliga. Today was their 12th game in the course of around 5.5 weeks. For Nürnberg is was the 10th match in a bit more than 7 weeks. And on top of that Nürnberg had their last match on Sunday, 28.06.2020, while Ingolstadt played their last match on Saturday,04.03.2020, just 3 days ago. So Nürnberg even had much longer time to regenerate and prepare for today.

I don't like relegation playoff matches in general but with the whole Corona situation it just feels even more unfair in this case. They could've at least schedule the match a week later and give Ingolstadt more time to rest.

Btw. Nürnberg should let Nürnberger sign a retirement contract already. A guy with his name shouldn't play in a different team ever  Grin

I think one common thing with almost all teams that are historically good but becomes bad is bad transfers and bad use of money as well.

Just to give you an example, for around 100 million dollars you could get .. Neymar? I am not sure who you could get at this point because pandemic caused prices to change, but you could get a world star player (even if they agree to come to you obviously) but you could also just have 1 huge place for youth system, and I mean HUGE, like you need a car to go from one side to other side since it is too long to walk type of place + you could get smaller stuff in almost all of Germany, at least all places that matters, and you could open up places in other nations as well, specifically in Latin America and Africa that is loved by European clubs.

So as you can see, for 100 million dollars, you can get either a superstar, or a youth system that will feed you amazing players and also players just good enough that you can sell to other nations or lower leagues. When teams buy players that they end up regretting and you combine all of that money, that causes them to eventually go down and this is why bad management is number one reason historical teams become bad.

And that is one of the reasons why I don't like the relegation games. Why does everyone have to get one last chance? If they don't manage to stay in the Bundesliga after 34 matchdays, then they have to relegate.

Why does everyone have to get one last chance?

It's all about money. Why do you think we have 7 different kick-off times in Bundesliga nowadays ? Why is the CL played on Tuesdays/Wednesdays and the EL on Thursdays (where you then have to put Bundesliga matches on Sundays) ? Why is there a UEFA Nations League, when players always complain about too many games or too short breaks ? Why was the World Cup 2022 given to Qatar, a country that has no business in football ?

With these relegation playoff matches, there is money to be made and that is why we have them (again). And we are all part of this system, because we watch those games and make it worth for FIFA, UEFA, DFL etc. to keep milking football. We are all guilty Wink

After the relegation match yesterday from Nürnberg vs Ingolstadt my bet was right on that and i am happy that Nürnberg won this game!
Hopefully the next match will be also a win for Nürnberg so they stay in the second League .
Looks like the new Trainer activated the team in the right way .
It was a nice watching yesterday and an intresting Match .

In England prices vary very much between the clubs. And it isn't really connected to club position in the league. Now I am writing from my memory but I believe Arsenal and West Ham has highest ticket prices of almost 100 pounds followed by other London clubs. I guess London is expensive city Smiley

For instance Leicester had about 50 pounds tickets and two teams I would prefer to watch City and LFC are still below 60 pounds. There are some lower tier teams (Bournemouth, Burnley...)which have ticket prices of 30 pounds or so.

What is the actual price to watch Dortmund or Leipzig for instance? They would be the teams I would like to see when opportunity comes. I was on Dortmund game long time ago, will remember yellow wall for rest of my life.

What is the actual price to watch Dortmund or Leipzig for instance?

If you are not handicapped or young, they cost from 18,- Euro (standing) to 58,- Euro. 20% more against Bayern/Schalke. Tickets for my local team are more expensive for certain games and they don't even play Bundesliga Grin

For comparison Bayern tickets are a bit more expensive in the higher categories (15,- to 70,-):

For a smaller team like Augsburg it's not that much cheaper compared to Dortmund (14,- to 45,- Euro).

The problem is not even the entrance fee (unless you want to go with your family). It is more the prices for drinks and food that make the whole event quite expensive. And they usually get expensive from season to season.

I was also wondering same question since I saw the stadium attendance of Bundesliga matches is much higher than even Premier League. I'd love to watch Dortmund's game once I have a chance in future.

Hoffenheim is angry. They train their own talents and then who takes them away? FC Bayern Munich. I can understand the resentment. But it is also up to the clubs to establish a relationship with their players. Because in the end the player decides to change. Or the advisor Wink
