He said: Not to expect any decision in the month of april.

Practically speaking, they need more information before making such difficult/important decision in this time of crisis.

With the growing number of people infected with Covid-19 in USA they are having a difficult time on what to do.
I think they are all in panic by now.
Better just stay at home first. This will end soon with the help of each person disciplined into not going out.

If I am in the Commissioner position, I may not have the power anymore to decide all this kind of things when seeing how fast the pandemic is spreading.
He should take a rest for now and maybe that way he could think of something else after this worldwide sickness.

There is now a big possibilities that the season could be cancelled because of the pandemic. The infected people in the United States is continue to grow and it is the reason why the commissioner postponed the Nba. The lakers and the bucks are fighting to the top and it is hard to see that the current season will be cancelled.

Last week up to this day. US has twice the number of total coronavirus cases (366,614) to Spain (136,675) in a daily rate of 30,000 confirmed cases per day. That's terrifying number.

I hope in the next upcoming days the numbers won't continue to grow so everyone would go back to normal and so NBA as well as soon as possible when the number of cases per day aren't increasing.

I am sorry to say but I believe US handles it very poorly as their numbers has been pumping real hard.
Italy's number of cases has already slowed down but it seems US cases has been rapidly growing, I don't have a complete information on its cases on a day to day basis but what I noticed is that in 24 hours time, they already have thousands of new cases being reported. As of now, they have over 10,000 deaths and 19,000 recovered only of the total 366K cases, that does not look really good.

I looked at trump twitter (https:/twitter.com/potus) for what is going there.

And I've seen a lot of great news like this one:

NBA can still continue the season but "obviously" not today or maybe in the next 2-3 months. If the situation stills the same in the 4th quarter of the year, then they will surely consider ending it officially. It will depend on the status. It's ok to start the next season delayed as it already happened before because of the NBA lockout. Therefore, the NBA can still push the current season, even in November, but again, it will depend on the status.

They might use that last lockout as a basis for this short term game season.
October is when they always start the season right? They could just adjust it all if ever this virus will last longer.
I think they will start the playoffs after this.
Those 8th seeds in East and West will be the one playing so let us forget those who are still trying to make it at the 8th spot.
Also, they might make it as a short playoffs with just maybe 5 games or worse 3.

Protecting the players even after the virus should be a still a priority. That means protecting the fans too.

Yes, that format was also possible.

That's why the NBA doesn't officially end the Season for good because they still need to see the progress in the upcoming months. As I said, they still have several months to decide.

And for the return, for let's say the virus is now controlled after 2-3 months (damn, I hope so), they can use another 2-3 months for a complete assurance that everything is now controlled. From there, they can now push their plan of having games without fans and have a PPV instead.

Actually, I'm also in the position that NBA should be canceled but I don't want to think that way since claiming NBA is done for good also means that the world will be owned by the virus for long. The USA and other big countries are surely working hard to control the pandemic virus. Hoping for positive news in the upcoming months. Cross-fingers.

I agree with that, but months has pass and until now they have not found the vaccine yet, although they put a lot of effort but we want to see the result the soonest possible time as more lives will be at risk if there's still no vaccine yet. The NBA if they'll resume will not get a big crowd that they use too, this experience that we are at now will leave some trauma especially to county that are heavily affected.

Now I can tell that this is the good news, they will know right away that a person is positive or not, not in our country that it will take days to determine if a  person is positive with covid or not, hopefully this will be available soon, US needs to use this for early detection and to minimize the spread.

Now I can tell that this is the good news, they will know right away that a person is positive or not, not in our country that it will take days to determine if a  person is positive with covid or not, hopefully this will be available soon, US needs to use this for early detection and to minimize the spread.

Be thankful that you guys have some materials to take only days to know whether a person is positive or negative to CoviD-19. In our city we too almost two weeks for the test to show, by that time when the person is positive, he may already pass the virus to others. Our city is one of the city that cannot afford some testing kit like the USA have. Having a fast and accurate testing kit like this will help the people to slow the outbreak in each of their cities.

As per experts told on the media it will take long to develop a vaccine since this is a new disease but on thing is good happening right now is some of the other country have a potential medicine to cure those infected person and if they found the solid among those medicine tested for sure we can see a better result and might  we can see the games back and expect a high intensity game since for sure players are hungry to dunk or shoot on the hard court after the long quarantine days period.

Potential only but it has not proven yet that it can cure covid because if it is, then people should not panic now, and they will be going out the street once again to get back their normal life. We really have no idea when the medicine or the cure will be release and as we are unsure with it, the NBA season will also be uncertain like other sporting events in the world.

It's very funny and for sure interest will rise up for those creative minds expect that there are lots of this to comes up from social medias sites.
People are people and instead of worrying that much with this spreading virus they choose to stay happy. We are not sure how long this might take

I am not entirely sure if that is even possible, I mean think about it if there were machines that could test withing minutes, the whole nations would have gotten it by now, it would have been basically done to every single human, however instead we are dealing with tens of thousands of people a day right now, still a good number of course but not unlimited like this article makes the machine sound like.

In the end it is always good to see NBA working towards corona virus, they are super ultra rich and the money they are putting into this would help NBA (which is why they are doing) but it would eventually help other people as well indirectly.
