We can feel that because we are Asians, and once there's an Asian in the NBA, that makes us proud. But Lin donating this big money while he is not anymore making big money unlike his contract with the NBA when he was still popular, then maybe we can also expect from those who area really making $100 million contract like Lebron, Durant, Harden, WB, and Leonard, etc. I understand Lin helping out the USA, because they are heavily affected by the pandemic and they suddenly turned to be like the epicenter of the virus. America has been a huge part of Lin's life and career, though he's out from the NBA now, but him being too good like most Asians are, just want to extend whatever help he can to help one of his home that molds who he is today. On the other hand this superstars you have mentioned surely helped, but not everything was published in the social media.

Lin still cares for America though he is not an NBA player anymore, I can still remember those rumors that he was not resign because he is an Asian, but this guy has great heart. At the headline, I thought he will donate in china because he is currently in china now, but he did donate to the americans.
I don't see a connection of Lin still cares for America even he is not an NBA anymore. Even no teams from the NBA signed him, I think it's unfair for the whole USA community to received the disappointment he gets from the NBA. And thanks for his donation. It's big money. Even $ or whatever fiat currency really counts. And I think he also donated too in China. No way he will leave them behind even China isn't his nation by legal papers.

Even some aren't on the news, I doubt these players didn't lend a hand yet. Impossible for me to think that they just literally stay at home after the NBA suspension and do nothing. No need actually to have a media to show they already donate. Some of your mentioned players do have their own foundation aside from the other foundation and charities they are supporting too. They are known for giving a hand to others even prior to this pandemic virus that hits the whole world. And I think he also donated too in China. No way he will leave them behind even China isn't his nation by legal papers.
Yes, he did. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2880450-jeremy-lin-foundation-donate-1m-yuan-150k-towards-fighting-coronavirushttps://dailyhive.com/vancouver/jeremy-lin-raptors-donation-charity-coronavirus

Jeremy Lin is an american you know that right? I mean sure he has a chinese background but almost everyone in USA has a background if you go back enough, Jeremy Lin was however born in California, so he was never really fully chinese, it was only his ethnicity and not his real identity. Plus even his ethnicity is Taiwan and not China precisely no matter how you see that situation. So we can say it makes sense a California born, harvard studied, millionaire person to help out americans during a period like this.
However since he is making is money from China and he has some historical connection there, he probably wanted to help out in China as well, which is a nice gesture if you ask me, anytime anyone donates money I feel like thats such an awesome thing to do since they didn't had to do that at all but saw the human suffery and wanted to be part of the recovery or at least have some sort of help at least.

A help from compassionate people brings hope to those people who are affected of this virus, whatever raised Lin was, his intentions to help out and reach those people who are in need right now is more important. I salute him for showing his kindness, those amounts of money will be able to provide even the basic needs of many people. Good job and hope to see more news like this.

Yeah! That's it! It doesn't matter who you are, what race/color you are in or even if you are an alien. The people of the world is suffering and I don't think we should be looking at the physical look of every person. There is still hope for this world and I think this should not just happen because there is a pandemic out there. This should happen everyday because sickness is still there. Physically and mentally.

I totally agree. There could be high profile NBA athletes who are helping since the outbreak, but they chose to remain outside of the limelight. The only player that what vocal was Gobert, which obviously the first case we have in the league that's why he goes to Twitter and announces that he had donated to the cause. And I'm sure that there are a lot, from NBA management to players who are donating money to fight against this pandemic.

In my opinion, the NBA federation along with all the players should start collecting an amount of money in order to help the US or the world in the fight against Coronavirus. Even an amount of 50. - I think that it is not a big deal to be collected- is going to be a great help to the world.

US is not poor, they have a lot of money, and where would that money go the amount they printed, the help from the NBA is just their personal decision and it's good that we have an organization that is willing to help the people in times of crisis. They can choose not to help but they like to stop this pandemic the soonest as the longer they are at break, it will affect their business. No operation would simply mean no profit for them, so partly they can also benefit by the help they give.

A great example, as well as other sports stars, they have also donated to relieve Covid19. As, the owner of the Clippers, Steve Ballmer and his wife donated $ 25 million. Of which $ 10 million will go to the University of Washington, which is working to create a possible coronavirus vaccine. Forbes has named Steve Ballmer the World's Richest Sports team owner. https://www.si.com/nba/2020/03/27/steve-ballmer-coronavirus-donation

I haven't heard anything from Michael Jordan or Larry Bird, these guys are the main character here even though they already retired they have some huge amount of money with them. I guess they're the ones who don't need to mention their good deeds in this midst of the pandemic.

It's not just all the money guys, NBA launched this website https://cares.nba.com/coronavirus/ that gives up-to-date information about the virus. Besides Rudy G, donations, Marcus Smart donated his blood for experiments KAT donated $100k, Al Horford with this $500k And Kevin Love $100k.

On other calamities like hurricane Florence Michael Jordan donates $2m dollars for relief operation article is here: https://www.espn.com.sg/nba/story/_/id/24724238/michael-jordan-donating-2-million-hurricane-florence-reliefFor sure jordan acts the same at this time of pandemic maybe silently but who knows maybe in next following days it will be posted on media outlets. As well great gesture for Jeremy Lin to pledge $1m for fighting the Corona virus and for sure the other players will do their share to help and increase the awareness about the current scenario.

I can't believe we haven't had NBA for over a month now, that shows how long we have been in lockdown as humanity as well, I have started my own self isolation BEFORE they have decided to stop NBA as well, so that means I have been at home for over a month now, close to two months now.
Players could donate as much as they want, and not just their money, they could donate their blood if they had corona and got better, all of that is awesome of course but at the same time no matter what we do, no matter what players does, eventually it comes down to timing. Look at Italy for example, that was the nation that got hit the biggest and they had over 700 deaths per day but now its declining, under 600 in many days past week, they are not all of a sudden get that to zero, but at least we now know that with enough time numbers go down, so we have to be patient and stay isolated and just hope that numbers will go down fast enough.

Times like this everyone should have same sentiments, helping those who are in need and focus with charity works and not with Media exposures, the chance of having more players involved to this kindness who choose not to be mentioned is really high, there are players who always wanted to do the charities without naming them. We all know that each stars have their own charitable sponsorship providing scholarship to those in need much they will help them now as crisis still exists.

I'm more surprise on how strong this virus is to keep us lock down for thing long period already. Without Covid-19, everything would be normal but here we are now, we have to live with this, NBA is something that we miss but we can't do anything at the current situation, let the scientist formulate the vaccine first then we will see the NBA resume. Players could donate as much as they want, and not just their money, they could donate their blood if they had corona and got better, all of that is awesome of course but at the same time no matter what we do, no matter what players does, eventually it comes down to timing. Maybe they have already employed an effective measure against the covid-19, but I'm not sure if that decline is going to be consistent as long as the virus still lives, there is no assurance at all, only the vaccine can stop this mess covid-19 has brought.

Above all of this, no need to literally question whether a player donated or not. I mean, why should concerns like this be raised. Maybe others don't want it to be broadcast or some players still on the planning stage on what useful things to donate aside from money as in a time like this, PPE's, foods, essentials are the most important thing to have compare having money. What matters here is, the majority is helping hand. That's a good contribution already as every $ matter.

Yes, over a month now where remaining games in the season are suspended in response to the first COVID-19 confirmed cases in the league. On that date, 4 games still finished and 2 games postponed (Jazz@OKC, Pelicans@Kings).Time flies really fast. I think it's just a few weeks ago since the NBA suspend their games. I hope in the upcoming several months, I will see a report that "VIRUS NOW TOTALLY CONTROLLED" and "NBA TO RESUME SEASON ON !@#$%^".

Seriously how long will this last? I mean I am checking out the numbers and I am not going to lie it takes about a full month to even peak, and than some that stays at around that peak, and do not forget the small times that it just starts out. Hopefully we will get it over with in few months but the reality is, as long as we do not find a cure for it, or a medicine a drug or something, we are not going to really be liberated are we? We are all trying to stay at home, we are all trying to isolate ourselves, everyone who has to go outside wears masks and gloves and all of that stuff and even with that it took us a month to see a decline. If we see like under 100 death in many nations and we suddenly let people go outside and just be like old days, since we do not have a cure yet, whats there to stop the virus start spreading all over again and start another killing spree?
