I totally agree. There could be high profile NBA athletes who are helping since the outbreak, but they chose to remain outside of the limelight. The only player that what vocal was Gobert, which obviously the first case we have in the league that's why he goes to Twitter and announces that he had donated to the cause. And I'm sure that there are a lot, from NBA management to players who are donating money to fight against this pandemic. There are a lot of money to the NBA industry. In my opinion, the NBA federation along with all the players should start collecting an amount of money in order to help the US or the world in the fight against Coronavirus. Even an amount of 50. - I think that it is not a big deal to be collected- is going to be a great help to the world. I disagree though, those who wanted to donate should do it voluntarily. The NBA should not collect money per players. Obviously, big percentage of NBA players are multi millionaire and then can donate as much as they can in which ever way possible. Probably there are more players that have donated a lot of money already, but they don't want it to be made in public.

Seriously how long will this last?
I guess the NBA will resume as soon as the vaccine is available to use worldwide. The NBA is really urging and finding ways to resume their business. I have read a headline where NBA might lose a billion dollars if this pandemic continue till the 30th. Therefore, the NBA is lossing a huge chunk of profit, thus they are making a contingency plan to run the business in an unusual ways. Anyway, I guess everything and normal routine will resume when the vaccine is available already. All of the lock down and quarantine will be lifted as well.

This doesnt only talk about businesses but as a whole. The association wont really have any options but to accept that they do lost up that much money and even if they do force in to continue, they are risking someones lives. They would surely get lots of criticism instead of praise on such action.

Very unexpected.
This virus is choosing no age, it's attacking everyone that's infected.
People who are still young and have good immune are fighting the virus but still going through difficulty. I've read one of the football player describing a stage where he had difficulty breathing. I can't imagine how much difficulty people who are old are going through. It's really hard, I can't even think of myself if I got hit of this virus. I'm not athletic and I'm sort of overweight. These people have a balance diet and living the balanced lifestyle still they go through a lot. Very sad and painful to imagine.

No, I don't think so. Everyone is affected. Even those critics might be having their difficult times by now. As you said, it is business. I think a lot of businesses out there are doing worst than NBA. Somehow they could make something happen by cutting the salary of every player. Some business don't have that kind of option.

at this rate, let's put all our reliance on God. We saw the worse of the worse situation this year. of all of the people those doctors who have known everything on how to take care of themselves self but still they are a huge chunk of them who died. Those athletes are no longer safe once it reaches their immune system. Just like what happen to the doctors it could also happen to them if they are not careful.

Imagining those people who are suffering to this virus especially those senior citizens, battling to this virus will be very hard and the chance is slim for them since the virus once being penetrated inside their immune system they quickly damage everything. It's best to take care of yourself while you still have the chance, staying inside your house and keep yourself healthy by eating right foods.

Yeah, this is exactly why I have been isolating myself at home and not going outside unless I am really forced to to buy some stuff at the grocery store and even when I do that I literally wear a mask, a glove, clothes that I put to washer at the very moment I get in (literally undress fully naked right inside the door ) because I am afraid it doesn't care about any age. For example, a football player who was only 21 years old died, dude didn't smoked, he trained hard, and he was only 21 years old which means he was literally the best case for anyone who can beat corona, yet dude died anyway. I am also overweight and not even a little bit, I am overweight a lot and I personally smoke as well (cigarette, not illegal substance) and that means I am in the risk group. All of these news scare me a lot.

Even I, cant imagine if would be put up on the situation and we know that even athletic can really be affected. There are people who are asymptomatic even they got infected, therefore this one will really vary on immune system and we know that elder people doesnt already have that high immunity.

It's really not about the physical fitness of a person nor how healthy the person is, no matter how strong you or how healthy you are if you came in direct contact with someone positive or has touch surfaces with their droplets you'll get it more so if you always touch your face without washing your hands. Look at how Rudy Gobert got it and how he infected Donovan Mitchell by toying with him around while he was perspiring after a game, we all saw how he played around with the mics and look at him now he got positive from COVID 19. Washing your hands, cleaning surfaces with alcohol, and avoiding touching your face is the best way not get it.

I think that will not be the case. It's impossible to produce a vast amount of vaccine within a short period of time. NBA will surely not wait for that but we do hope that a vaccine will be made right away. Actually, there are lots of test vaccines made now and the development is working well so far. Just needs more tests before it will be actually injected on a human. Controlling the virus spread is the most important thing to happen first since once the vaccine is made, it will be limited. I believed that was NBA is waiting for until considering resuming the league. They can just halt the game on the homecourt on those states that were heavily affected like New York as it needs not just several months to fully free from the virus (possibly a year). .. if this pandemic continue till the 30th.
A sad reality, 13 days from now, it's hard to imagine that the pandemic virus will be controlled on that date considering the daily stats of confirmed cases. But who knows... cross-fingers.

Everything wont easily go to normal just like a snap, it will take time before it heals and everything would be in order and as long the vaccine isnt available yet then i dont see a reason for them to resume on. A sad reality, 13 days from now, it's hard to imagine that the pandemic virus will be controlled on that date considering the daily stats of confirmed cases.

We are all hoping but seeing on the current condition, it doesnt show any progress that it is lessening but rather becomes even more worst.

The projected timeline for a vaccine to be made was a minimum 18 months. Hard to imagine that the NBA will wait for that long before resuming unless 18 months from now, the situation still remains. It's a nightmare for everyone. If the virus is now totally manageable and we see now fewer numbers being infected for several months from now even without the vaccine, everything should be back in business by slowly. Isolate those places that established a high number of confirmed cases and remain lockdown even the vaccine will be made. NBA supports lots of foundations and charities, it's not just about their businesses but they can't able to support this if no revenues coming for several months. They also have lots of work employees that will not afford to be unemployed for months to a year.

Nah, several NBA workers, staff and other essential part of the operations have been affected either the health security or financial capacity. If you mean the NBA players has not been so hugely affected, then that's true because they are very safe at the comfort of their home, but not everyone working in the NBA lives a lavish lifestyle like the players do. So, as we all noticed NBA players were donating as much as help as they can to cover the salary of those staff and crews working in their association.

Warriors' Stephen Curry Says He Was 1st NBA Player Tested for the Coronavirus In an essay for Time, Curry explained he received a test March 6 after he felt sick with a fever that reached 101 degrees.
"I was the first NBA player tested for COVID-19," he wrote. "Thankfully, my test came back negative. But that experience hit me, and it hit me hard."
The Warriors announced the next day Curry was diagnosed with influenza A and had "no specific risk factors for COVID-19."
Curry has since used his time and money to help those affected by the coronavirus, as he explained in his essay:
"I'm fortunate to have the job I do, and not have to worry about all the many things crippling families across the country during this pandemic: unemployment, hunger, housing. How couldn't I use all of my resources and the full power of the platform my wife and I have built to help those desperately in need during this time? We have a responsibility to one another."
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2887010-warriors-stephen-curry-says-he-was-1st-nba-player-tested-for-the-coronavirusGlad to hear that Curry wasn't tested positive for Covid-19 back then prior to Rudy, but just as we have known by now, everyone is not really immune to it. A simple flu might turn out to be that we are infected, and then on the other side of the spectrum, it could also be asymptomatic. And it's good to hear that he and his wife are also helping as well in this pandemic.

They needed to find ways to continue bringing money to those people who are relying with their helps. That's how important the vaccine in order to resume this league and bring back those income generated businesses in support to more people especially those kids who are beneficiaries both from players and the league itself.

Once this done everyone will become happy because NBA will gonna resum just few months I think they start operating.

So lets say, they do start to bring up the business once again and having those games which do still generate crowd.Do you really think that it would be permitted? Even the virus would become manageable but doesnt mean that it wont have the possibility to rise up again? As long theres host to transmit on, this problem would continue.I cant even imagine on what would happen or things would look like if this will last for a year or several months. They can resume games but it wont be the same just like before where lots of crowds around and also it would be a bit hassle on checking everyone to go inside in the venue from staffs to players down to people who do tend to watch.I cant still picture out the possibility for any resume.
