A great news indeed, now we can finally make bets again. Though I don't know what it will be like for we have a new normal life after this pandemic. Though this is really a good thing for I have think that NBA might not yet comeback this year or may have on December 2020.

They can't afford that, their will be a lot of people working under the organization that will struggle because of no income, and this would not gonna help the economy of the US which has been struggling now due to the big number of cases on covid-19. I believe they will really push NBA to resume, but of course with proper measures since they will not get the approval if they have no safety measures in place just to ensure no transmission of covid-19 is going to happen again.

As per post above, the NBA season will reason late July or early August, that gives them a lot of time to prepare and I think they have been practicing already by now. ( information) NBA is a big organization, they will not mess up this opportunity given to them, so I believe they will succeed on resuming the games, and we will once again start to make conversation here regarding the actual games we watched. In the poll 2020 NBA Champion? It's gonna be Clippers for me.

Might be, or they can't simply miss their schedule besides their are games that haven't finished yet. Now I've been thinking,... (LazyCrazy) Social Distancing will be applied on NBA 😂 Just imagine on how they're going to block 😂 2020 NBA Champion? It's gonna be Clippers for me. Btw, how many games have been played against Lakers and Clippers this season? Seems like a good play IMO,

Seems like a good play IMO, It seems they have faced each other three times already. Here's the summary: Sadly, Kawhi's team prevails the LA but whatever, there should be a last match up between them somewhere in April if the league doesn't stop the operation. What a waste, Lakers might have a chance to tie it . Well, anyway, their matchup in playoffs would be way more interesting. 2020 Champ? I'll go with Lakers, obviously .

Here's the summary: I watched all three games between these teams in this season. DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE. The atmosphere was like in play off. Defense at the highest level on both sides. Patrick Beverley rules in this aspect. I don't like him but I really appreciate his skills and character. Games very even and extremely fierce. I hope for the LA derby in the final of the conference. I think that who will win this series will become a champion. I support Lakers, but above all good basketball.

I believe they will really push NBA to resume, but of course with proper measures since they will not get the approval if they have no safety measures in place just to ensure no transmission of covid-19 is going to happen again. First, the number of infected Covid-19 patients should go down substantially. I am still having a hard time to understand the plan. Perhaps it will be easier while the game on and being explained by the commentator. Let's look at the NBA source. The NBA is coming back after a vote by its board of governors Thursday approved commissioner Adam Silver's plans to send 22 teams to Disney World for the conclusion of the 2019-20 season. As a reminder, the season will be finished under the following terms: - All games will be played at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando.
- The 22 teams that make the trip to Disney will play eight regular-season games each.
- If the No. 9 seed in either conference is within four games of the No. 8 seed in that conference, they will be pushed into a play-in tournament. The No. 8 seed only needs to beat the No. 9 seed once, whereas the No. 9 seed must win twice.
- The first games will be played on July 31. Game 7 of the NBA Finals, if necessary, will be played on Oct. 12. Training camps for the 2020-21 season are expected to begin on Nov. 10, while the start of that season is projected for Dec. 1, though those dates are fluid.
What happens to the 8th seed if they lose twice? A schedule will help a lot in this situation.

With the Clippers, they have PG, Leonard, and their center Montrezl Harrell, and of course you can't discount the contribution of Lou Williams.

Theoretically yes, but remember that LBJ&AD can shoot 70-80 pts combine. Even against Clippers defense. They can also count on the range shooters like Danny Green, KCP or Avery Bradley if they have a their day. Personally, I think that both teams are very even, and the disposition of the day will decide about the victory. Or maybe the genius of someone from the four: LBJ, AD, PG, KL.

I think the addition with Noah for a 10-day contract will boost more on their defense especially on the paint where mostly AD and LBJ get their points. It will not be a 10-day contract if Noah will really make a big difference from it and besides Clippers will surely depend on him and not ask for more with former DPOY and All Star. I think I agree with you that they are even, the other one was more of offensive team and the other one focuses on the defensive. You can see some stats here: https://www.oddsshark.com/nba/offensive-statsOn offense we can see that LAC was at top 4 while on the defensive aspect the LAL was on top 3.

Yes, Lakers defense is also very strong. They have many good individual defenders and three great shoot blockers - AD, McGee and Howard. But in my opinion their greatest strength seems to be versatility in defense. Look at their roster. They have many players who can cover 3-4 positions in defense. This versatility, with a good rotation in defense, allows to stop any team.

These two are good, no doubt about that but I always believe that a better team work will beat talented players. Let's look at Leonard's achievement also as until now, he is still underrated despite we saw him perform his very best in the playoffs and bring success to the team. Remember that when Leonard was still new in the NBA, Spurs beat Lebron's team and Leonard got his first NBA Finals MVP at the age of 21 years old I guess.

- I am still having a hard time to understand the plan. Perhaps it will be easier while the game on and being explained by the commentator. Let's look at the NBA source.-
What happens to the 8th seed if they lose twice? A schedule will help a lot in this situation. It is basically the ending of regular season that is shortened into 8 regular season games given to those 22 teams. Whoever gets into 1st-8th seed will be able to head to playoffs. However, and base from what I understand. There will be a play-in tournament between the 8th and 9th seed in each conferences only if the 9th seed team is 4 games short to get into the standing otherwise 8th seed team have their spot secured. The play-in tournament between the 8th and 9th seed; the team who get the spot for "8th seed has to beat the team in 9th seed only once while the 9th seed has to beat the 8th seed twice" (as mentioned) to take their playoff spot. Still 8th seed isn't totally screwed over here, it is just that the league have given more chance for the potential team to clinch in. Hence, if 8th seed team loses twice to the 9th seed team in that play-in tournament then the 9th seed team would take their spot and would be able head to playoffs. Do I make any sense? Correct me if I get it wrong. I am a bit confused as well.
Glad we would be able to watch NBA games again . Just 8 weeks more!
The 22 team are composed of: Sources: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sportingnews.com/us/amp/nba/news/nba-return-2020-standings-teams-playoffs/18ohl6blwizb31rswd4b51wau8https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-plan-to-return-winners-and-losers-of-the-leagues-resumption-and-revamped-format-at-disney/

Something is really wrong. I don't know if that is how it's going to be. 3 down, 9th 10th and 11th seed will be in a tournament first? https://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2020_standings.htmlBlazers, Pelicans, and Kings are already 4 games away from Grizzlies. Does that mean each will all be playing against Grizzlies? Ain't this a little unfair, it will be exhausting. Then afterward, they will be heading for the playoffs. Please do correct me too if I am wrong.

Please do correct me too if I am wrong. No, they still do have to play the remaining eight games, first. And after, that would determine their playoff placement or seed. My guess, if one of those team you mentioned manage to get into 9th seed having a 4 or fewer games to getting in the least playoff spot (which is the 8th seed), then the league would proceed to play-in tournament to at least have that team get their last chance on clinching in. Otherwise, it won't happen, what I mean we won't see any play-in tournament. And those team who get into 1st upto 8th seed would now head straight to playoffs. This is quite crucial for 8th seed team although they only have to win one game. You know... they need to be competitive as much as possible. My apologies in advance, if I get the wrong idea .

My apologies in advance, if I get the wrong idea . It's okay, I think my brain is not functioning well or I am too fixed with the traditional format. I think I already understand it thanks to you. So this might be the easiest explanation. I think so. It will be the same as the season. They just cut the teams by 22, releasing 4 at each conference. Every team will play until the end of the 8 games. For fairness. Example: Pelicans take the 8th seed and Grizzlies suddenly went on 9th. They will have the opportunity to play against the 8th spot as long as there are only 4 wins differential. Am I right?

I am surprised that there are so many votes for Clippers. Kawhi is not all-powerful.
I believe that most likely the Lakers will become champions, if not they, then Milwaukee Bucks. imo

Agreed, although LeBron can't do it by himself, he will need Davis to step up.

Yes. The 9th seed would have a chance for 8th spot or last playoffs spot if they are just behind 4 games win on the 8th spot. That would be decided in a twice-to-beat advantage of the 8th spot and win-or-go-home for the 9th spot. Here, teams at the bottom should just need to target at least 8th spot or 9th spot in the standings so somehow be alive in playoffs position. I like to see that in-play tournament and honestly, looking how closed the battle of the bottom on the West, it's likely to happen compared to East.
