Optimistic news for Indiana Pacers and Victor Oladipo fans. There is a growing chance that this player will return this season. Everything will be clarified in the coming days. More: https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29339816/pacers-victor-oladipo-ramp-activity-committing-restart
In my opinion, Indiana did unexpectedly well this season without their leader. When Oladipo returns to play, their chances for a good play-off result will increase even more. They also still have a chance for TOP 4 in the East at the end of the regular season. Of course, his form will be a great unknown, but in the current situation we can say this about every player.

Wait! He did play already after rehabilitation.
It was said in the article.  Grin
Before NBA shutdown.
Quote
Oladipo had his best game of the season -- 27 points against the Boston Celtics -- in his final performance prior to the March 11 shutdown of the season.

I think what they meant was they could put him in rest or make him play.
The safe side or the entertaining side.
Since they are on the 5th seed, there is nothing to worry about anymore.

The playoff will be a hard challenge in the Eastern Conference if he will get a chance to play again. Now, all that left is the further announcement of the team. We can say now he has a higher chance to play because he has fully recovered + the Pandemic suspension which made players get the ultimate rest they could ever have in the season.

Good thing Adam Silver remain firm with his decision though he had enough with his plate already... bunch of messed up circumstances though.
Problem with this is that without permissions of government, NBA won't be able to continue. And I am not so sure that they will allow it if covid numbers keep going up. Situation looked much better few weeks ago, like whole this thing was dying out. I guess we won't be 100% sure that league continues on July 30th until that date.

I don't think that they should push him to come back this season, or that he will be able to help them much after long break and all those injuries. Even if he comes back, i expect him to play on restricted minutes. But yeah, I agree that Pacers looked good even without him, and not just this season, they were pretty good previous season as well. Let's hope  we see Oladipo back at the previous level, as that would make Pacers one of the contenders.  Wasn't there a rumour that Pacers are thinking about trading Oladipo?

Oladipo could be helping the team but could also very well might hurt the team as well. Remember when Utah didn't had Mike Conley and they played better? Sometimes just because you are a great player or maybe even the best player on the team that doesn't really mean the team will do better. The reason for this is when you are playing as a whole team you get to be a lot more tough to defend, everyone attacks the basket and you have 5 people to guard and if you miss one of them they will score however when you have one super star you have to focus on them

One of the main reasons why Lebron wanted to play with other stars all his career, because if you are playing against just Lebron lead team with no other star, all you have to do is stop him, or slow him down. Hence why having Oladipo could be an amazing improvement or maybe wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Are you forgetting that Oladipo was coming out of a injury when he played this season? Of course he will fail to do impressive numbers right now since his play time is limited and his cohesion with the team  won't be that good. If you are judging him now and how he doesn't contribute well to the team it's because of that, I even doubt that the Pacers will become competitive again without him so he was really that unwanted star that can shine for them. You'll see what I mean if he won't be playing with the Pacers and the team won't have any replacement for him, they'll basically be trash even if Turner is around.

He's body is recovering for sure he will struggle plus you can add the emotional stress for that since for sure he will be careful so that he will not be injured again, I think he will struggle to get his numbers back since he encounter a gruesome injury. But I think pacer still a big team since they still have plenty of potential young legs and they should look for temporary replacement to cope up their need inside the court.

The decision depends on the coach, they can still give him a playing time but he might only play a limited minutes.
His contribution in the past was appreciated for sure, but if he can't contribute the same this playoffs, well, of course the coach will have to adjust.
Actually, I haven't seen Oladipo already back in his old self, it might still take time before he can fully regain his full confidence.

It's either he will help or he will just hurt himself.
Better to just rest and use that time to recover fully especially mentally.
He is not that bad when he came back January IIRC, but you could still see the hesitation.
The memory of the injury is still there and he's trying to keep himself safe.
That is not the Oladipo that we knew.

As of other stars in high seeds that are going to play, I bet they will also control the minutes to avoid injuries.
This is the reason why they need to inform their teams.
Or else, they will not play the whole 8 games.

NBA is so generous, yes they won't be punished but fans would surely hate them if they will not play, especially if they are part of the team starters or a star/s in a team. There's been a lot of happening in the background, but the good thing is the NBA is very persistent in resuming the games.

Though we will just be watching at home, I still hope that for the fans, our favorite players will take part, as this is not just their personal interest, they also have to consider the fans who are vital as without the fans NBA would not be popular.

Yeah that will be better since it could help Oladipo to fully regenerate his self so that he will fully recovered and comeback stronger in next season. But this is a huge adjustment for them since they used to be rotating with oladipo but suddenly all changes when he got injured let see what will be the adjustment given when they comeback since the new guys should step up while their star is not in good shape.

I've stumbled upon this article on their website about the young players that will have impact whenever the season resumes. What do you say about this and I know most of us likes Luka but spare him and look for the other good young athletes.

It's Luka and Zion, both are great young players.

In the article, it mentioned about young MVP's under 25 years old, the latest was Kawhi Leonard with the spurs, a well deserved recognition that time but I don't think both Luka and Zion had a great chance of achieving that now since their respective team does not have a good ranking to win the NBA Championship this season.

That's my instinct and my opinion, though both players are exciting to watch, but their team is not a championship caliber team yet.

I hope I'm wrong as I want to see Luka to achieved another milestone of success.

I hope you are wrong because I also like to see Luka in bigger stage, like the NBA finals, and that is a big challenge as Mavericks needs to beat both the Lakers and the Clippers which I think they have a very little chance.

This discussion leads me to checking the betting odds for the Mavericks to win the NBA finals, and this is the odds.

NBA is so generous, yes they won't be punished but fans would surely hate them if they will not play, especially if they are part of the team starters or a star/s in a team. There's been a lot of happening in the background, but the good thing is the NBA is very persistent in resuming the games.
Yeah, they'll be just receiving a salary cut (as mentioned here before, just a few pages back  Wink. So no more sort of legalities as the league knew players had some dilemma in this crucial times.

Though we will just be watching at home, I still hope that for the fans, our favorite players will take part, as this is not just their personal interest, they also have to consider the fans who are vital as without the fans NBA would not be popular.
Not sure but I don't think majority of stars players wouldn't play. As I see it was just Kyrie and Howard who are vocals in this matter, and the rest of the guys are silent, what I mean is that, they aren't showing any sign of opposition. And so, looks like we would be able to see them play though. Beside I am pretty sure they're missin' playing once again  Tongue.

Here's some photos, and clips about Bron and Ben Simmons working out together

Am certain others guys are doing the same; conditioning themselves, and others have gone thinner Harden, Jokic and now Gasol (kind of odd condition) Cheesy.

I'm getting more excited since it is just for about 6 weeks from now till the league starts to operate again  Grin.

I'm expecting majority would play but I'm hoping that all will play, Irving maybe in the star status until now but is he fully available to play already?
His team could quality in the playoffs, so it's important that he plays if he is fully healthy, he can bring that fight somewhere else but not to sacrifice the hope of his team in the coming playoffs.

here's the latest news about Irving per https://www.rotoworld.com/basketball/nba/player/29682/kyrie-irving

+3000 (https://www.oddsshark.com/nba/championship-odds)

Mavs still needs a few more season, and a few more team chemistry. Their team is solid and there are couple of role players. If Luka can figure out how to improve his leadership skills asap, then I might say they'll for sure become a championship caliber team next season.
I myself would love to see Luka and Porzingis play in NBA finals. These two players are young and hungry to win a title, but what makes it more interesting is that teams in the NBA today has been more competitive than the past few seasons where the GSW and Cavs just easily dominate their respective conferences.

Anyway, that odd might change depends on how they'll perform when NBA resumes.

We are too quick to decide, let's see what they can do this season or this playoffs.

They are an underrated team, it's normal that people would think that they have a  small chance of winning as West is full of good teams but it's hard to conclude early as the ball is round and anything can happen. IMO, Luka is already a good leader, he has improved a lot and this is his first playoffs and if in case they will fail to win the championship, at least they will learn a lot.

It might change but if we are looking for a better odds, even better than what was shared, we can get Mavericks now at +3700

you can check the odds in https://nitrogensports.eu/sport/Basketball/NBA%20-%20Futures

It's also tempting me to take this odds now. What do you guys think?

One of the main reasons why Lebron wanted to play with other stars all his career, because if you are playing against just Lebron lead team with no other star, all you have to do is stop him, or slow him down. Hence why having Oladipo could be an amazing improvement or maybe wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Quote
Players must inform their respective teams by Wednesday if they intend to participate in Florida — something many players have considered skipping due the massive Black Lives Matter movement, risks related to the coronavirus and more. Should they decide to opt out, they won’t be punished.

I think not.
Most of the fans might be thankful enough just to see the NBA being resumed and them/us watching it.

Some fans might just think players are avoiding to be infected by Covid-19 virus.
Others will say there is just so much happening in their country.
As for me, I am satisfied to just watch them play and can still keep themselves safe.
