With Hawks, I think that was the first time Capela first experience playing in the Conference Finals. Now with a much competitive Eastern Conference, the battle will be more tough and difficult as some teams are working on their lineup improvement.

I want to see them at ECF again but not expecting.

No mate, Clint already has that taste of conference final way back in 2018. Remember that game 7 loss with the Warriors? It was expected that they are the favorite back then when CP3 and Harden are joining forces to play hard and try winning that WCF finals.

It was just a bad injury that CP3 suffered that's why the Warriors won back and snatch that series.

He's part of that trio where Paul and Harden bring the ball up and let him finished with a dunk.

I am glad you all like the Clint Capela news.
I also felt great when I saw it because he truly deserves it. If this goes well, the Hawks will have a good pair of franchise players. Trae and Clint.
It's not easy to find big men who can play like that.
...
The rockets were going down the path of a complete rebuild, that's why they dumped everyone.
It was a pity to witness what happened to them after spending so much on building around Harden. I think they made a huge mistake when they chose him over CP3.
It was just not for them. The Rockets should try what the New York Knicks did if they cannot find a player that fits what they already have.
Build with a young core with long contracts and try to make something out of it. It's a risk but could also be rewarding if done right.

That's what they are doing now.  There is no point being a middle of the road team.  When in doubt cash in all your assets and crush the draft.  Get a good 3-4 young players, then bring in a top tier or 2 free agent and you got yourself a squad.  The problem most teams have is they over evaluate their own team.  One thing is true though, you have to get the draft right and hit on a coue of these college kids.

I know it happened to other teams as well. What I'm saying is that they could have prevented a complete overhaul and still become a strong contender if they let go of Harden while keeping CP3 and the rest of their key players.

Yes rebuilding will be much shorter if done right. NYK took a long time if I remember correctly.

I didn't know the Chip Engelland was the shooting coach of Spurs. Thanks for the info mate.

For those Filipino out there, I'm sure a lot of you are posting in this thread, Chip Engelland become naturalized Filipino citizen and play for the Philippine National Team in the 80's. Damn, I'm really that old.  Grin. Chip was known to be a good shooter back in the days, I consider his shooting touch like Oscar Schmidt, another great basketball player and shooter from Brazil.
Yeah mate Cheesy. He has been there for nearly 15-16 seasons as well and not a new thing. Chip was known as a great shooter and he took that talent to become a shooting coach, basically started off his own clinic at first, helping young kids and high schoolers to learn how to shoot better, mainly free throws since you can avoid three point shooting like ben, but nobody can avoid free throws and there are legens that he made 400 in a row in a bet, without a single miss.

Eventually his clinic got so much attention that he got offers from NBA teams to be a shooting coach and then Spurs offered him an Assistant Coach title so he has been there for 15+ seasons, fixing many players shots at the same time, all the legends in Spurs uniform in the past 15+ seasons all learned to be a better shooter thanks to him. But even HE can't fix Ben Simmons for sure, lol, that dude is beyond saving.

The Nets just signed Paul Millsap. That makes them chasing Aldridge a little less likely. I didn’t really expect the Nets to land Millsap but those are the kinds of free agent moves that are possible when you’re heavily favorites to win it all next year. The Lakers I think have the best big three, but the Nets have some serious depth that will come in handy come playoff time.

Wow, great news for the Nets, and from the article below.
https://www.netsdaily.com/2021/9/2/22653883/shams-nets-reach-agreement-to-sign-paul-millsap

Quote
With Millsap’s signing, the Nets will have five players with 38 All-Star selections.

There have been reports all week that the Nets are trying to work a buyout with DeAndre Jordan, who’s owed $19.7 million over the next two years.

If they could release Jordan, they might add some health on the team that is necessary during the playoffs.
I thought Nets are down with acquiring players, but here they are, they still continue.

I'm not sure if the Nets were able to beat a healthy Lakers, they have a good big 3 but the Lakers have a good center which will certainly create a big problem on the Nets just like what we saw during the last palyoffs. Who would stop Davis in the paint? that's the question I have in mind that I think the Nets were not able to find a solution yet.

Lebron vs Durant.
Westbrook vs Irving

Great match up of MVPs

Back in Rockets, he also plays a big role why Rockets always end up in a good position every season but the team just lacks at the playoffs run.

One of the players I'm looking to see play in the NBA next season if he stayed in the Houston Rockets, they would have become a major contender in the NBA finals but whichever team he goes, he still gives his team the best he can do to make it to the playoffs. The Atlanta Hawks have some great players playing with him that will lead the team to be in the Playoffs again this upcoming season.

The rockets were going down the path of a complete rebuild, that's why they dumped everyone.  They weren't going anywhere and Clint wasn't going to help them go deep into the playoffs.  He actually is a perfect fit on that team.  Think the Hawks are gonna be good for a long time they got a good squad building up over there.

No, when they dumped him, they still have Harden and Westbrook, so not yet in a rebuild phase but a experiment, fast running team with those two and then PJ Tucker as center, a system experimented by Coach Mike D. But it didn't work, so obviously, Harden and Westbrook are gone and now they are in the rebuilding phase with one of the best rookies, Jalen Green.

Yeah even then I don't know how long they expected that to last, which it didn't.  I like when teams completely revamp that's how ypu hit gold with a kid like Jalen green.  I would have avmctually taken him over cade, but I guess time will tell.  Jalen looked good against professionals already.

There are rumors that LaMarcus Aldridge is going to return to the NBA next season.

At this point, I doubt. Just look at how he quickly decides to retire because of his irregular heart beating concern last season instead of going just to recovery period but still part of the team. That creates panic and mental stress to him so right away, he retires officially without hesitation. If he will play again, the same scenario might happen again even he is healthy because he already knows the feeling of being under stress.

But who knows though that he's now finally overcome it after several months. But as far as the current rumors about him are concerned, there is no hint coming from him itself that he is really interested to play again. All is that, he was just being cleared as healthy to come back playing at the league.

There is one interesting case about an NBA player shooting form: The Markelle Fultz Mystery, the NBA Story That Rocked 2018. But in his case, his shooting form was ugly because later it was found out that he has a injury.

But in Simmon's case, maybe just a few tweaks on his shooting form, as Dwight Howard said, his former team mate, "Ben, bend your knees". And what's ironic is that Markelle Fultz + Ben Simmons = Franchise player for the Sixers that didn't materialised because of one common factor, free throw shooting.

There are rumors that LaMarcus Aldridge is going to return to the NBA next season. It seems that he is healthy at the moment, considering that he already passed all necessary tests. By the way, the Nets are interested in Aldridge, and they probably will sign a contract with him again.

It could also save them from unexpected injuries which happened last season.
You just never know what the outcome will be and if ever they could take a good spot in the season, they could start using the bench and restrict the minutes of their stars avoiding accidents.
I thought the Nuggets will resign him but it looks like they are also aiming for a younger player that will fill the forward spot.

I don't know his mental state, but if he had decided to stay with the team at that time, he would have been very helpful in the playoff, especially against the Bucks. Anyway, I think his decision to retire was hasty. Maybe he will comment on these rumors about his returning in the coming days.

Health first, always.

It would have been no good for him to return and potentially collapse on the floor during the playoffs. That would have affected the whole team's morale and would have just been an unnecessary risk to take on.

Clearly he weighed up his options and decided against returning last year. But this year seems to be different. I don't expect him to be a huge factor but can definitely be a big body to help out the Nets.

That's a quick decision and as per rumors maybe Nets still wants him, they are trying to buyout Jordan.

Not sure though if that's the reason maybe they are trying to free some cap for him. Who knows, maybe there's negotiation between.
We just have to wait for any update regarding to this concern. Whichever team hires his service, the help that he can do is fair enough
to give some decent stats.

A big IF he can deliver the same performance before his retirement. His health condition is in very serious status that's why he retired. I'm that his current performance is much low compared before since he will always consider his health  when playing. I don't think investing on Aldridge will be a good decision for Nets if ever he will come back again. There's a lot of young player that can give a better performance than him. It just need some time to develop those new gens but it's worth it like Gianni and Booker.

Probably he can still deliver the same performance he did when he was still playing, but the problem is the long term effect of what he is feeling and for sure it will slow him down and it might affect the future of the team if they don't see the risk of losing him again in the season.

Probably if he will get signed, I think he will only get a very low salary.

his salary last season was.
Quote
2020/21   Brooklyn Nets   $878,340 ($878,340*)

probably lower than that.

Aldridge is 36 a border line age for retirement. Now, If we consider his health condition, he's considered as a permanently retired athlete already. I don't know what else that keeps him from continuing his career, but one thing is for sure it's "passion" and of course getting his first ring. If I'm not mistaken he didn't even have an NBA Finals experience.
One of the good players who didn't win a ring. The same as Steve Nash.
Anyway, let's give him another chance If he decides to come back. There's no news yet of him signing with any team right now.

Like OgNasty mentioned earlier Paul Millsap will become a player of the Brooklyn Nets.
The former Denver Nuggets player will be coached by coach Steve Nash after exploring the free agency.
Although the figures of the deal have not been disclosed yet, it should cover only one year at minimum salary. Brooklyn gets a profile of enormous experience basically low cost!
