This trade discussions involving Brown and Durant may effect the Celtics negatively whether it pushes through or not.
If it pushes through, it will disrupt the established chemistry that the team build through their young cores. And they are not assured that Durant and Tatum tandem will click. And it can also disrupt Tatum's development as the alpha of the team. This may lead them not achieving anything. This can affect Tatum's decisions when he becomes free agency. Worst comes to worst, Durant will leave them disarrayed just how he leaves his former teams.
If it does not push through, it may affect the relationship of the management with brown and eventually affects the team. After the performance that Brown showed last season, specially in the finals, he will be disgruntled to know that Celtics still considered him a trading piece. A disgruntled star athlete will have bad performance

I don't think it will be that bad since its Brown and draft picks. Yes he's an important part of the team but replacing him with KD would not totally disrupt the team rhythm since the Celtics still have the role players. This could actually play out well for the team in the short term. Tatum will most likely continue to be the team facilitator because we know Durant isn't a ball hog and has no problem moving without the ball. If it does not push through, it may affect the relationship of the management with brown and eventually affects the team. After the performance that Brown showed last season, specially in the finals, he will be disgruntled to know that Celtics still considered him a trading piece. A disgruntled star athlete will have bad performance I am yet to see a social media rant from Brown. I would be disappointed in him if he starts acting like a Diva like Kyrie or Ben.

Teams are still still actively pursuing Durant, the last time I check is Phoenix, Heat and Utah.
Phoenix cannot afford Durant now that they resigned Ayton. Utah is still a possibility, but I doubt Durant has interest in Utah once they trade Donovan Mitchell. Miami may be the only suitor for Durant if they could get a deal done that doesn't include Jimmy Butler or Bam. I doubt Utah wants Durant they would have to give up all the picks they just got from Minnesota. Utah is in full tank mode trying to get as many picks as they can like okc did to start from scratch. Durant doesn't move the needle for them they gave up once they traded gobert. Durant for Mitchelle, is it possible? if this will happen then Utah Jazz will become a better team, they have a good scorer, a clutch one and they have a good defense, but I think the chance of this happening is very low. About Durant getting traded to the Heat, I think Heat will lose more role players and probably one of their stars, if the Heat will choose between Butler and Bam, Bam might be put on a trade. No way Utah does that. They are in full tank mode. Why get Durant and surround him with nothing. They want picks and young talent to build around a LA okc. I have a feeling they are tanking to go all in on the vicor wembanyama sweepstakes in the draft next year. It's a pick haul or they will keep donovan to deal him at the deadline with a fringe team looking for a boost and desperate.

This made a lot of news and I've seen it almost everywhere. I guess that he's going to be part of the deal or he doesn't like the deal because it will trade a lot of the players that he used to play with. Boston doesn't really need to get into this trade with KD. Look at the other teams, they're just ignoring this trade and yet they're on it, they should do better and just avoid the trade since this trade from Nets is asking a lot not just from their key players but also from their good first picks. That's what I think and they're already a strong team and KD is now prone in injuries.

It's not just Brown but for sure Nets are also asking for more which includes the key players of the Boston Celtics and might be, Jayson Tatum too. I hope Nets won't get a trade package deal to trade Durant. This is to give Durant a problem and a lesson as well. If that happened, Durant will play on the Nets even he don't like it or not. Or the worst case, if the Nets didn't find any good trade package but are eager to trade Durant, they will end up trading him with a small package.

I can see brown going and a couple picks. Durant has 4 years on his contract its not like they only get em for a year or 2. Someone is going to have to shed a lot of assets if they want him.

Kevin Durant might be too costly if they have to lose both Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart, Draft Picks and the possible role player, Celtics have built a phenomenal team around Marcus Smart, Brow and Tatum, given up two of them would be insane but I really don't know how else they can it to all work out, but Brown is not even at his peak yet imo, but he's been an asset for the team. I don't think loosing Smart and Brown for Kevin Durant would make them more of championship contending team than they're currently, I felt they've got even more solid with the Brogdon trade. If it does not push through, it may affect the relationship of the management with brown and eventually affects the team. It will be a totally new dynamics within the team and that can go either way. Can be very good and they win or the other way around. The article linked in the post by OgNasty mentioned Brown as the center piece of the trade plus draft picks. It didn't say about Smart or the role players. https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1551454984314753024?s=21&t=w1qEPWBdZ9JMV3B1ji-y5gCeltics would be really stupid if they would actually give up a lot of key pieces for KD. That's still fine and a normal reaction. What I will be disappointed to see is if he starts a lot of drama on and off the court while thinking he's too valuable for the team to be traded or he doesn't deserve to be treated that way. I don't think it will be that bad since its Brown and draft picks. Hehe They're trying to get the most out of him but where's that taking the Nets now? It's been almost a month now and still nothing concrete. They are asking too much and all other teams are not interested in the Nets price tag. Use the Twitter link above as trade reference.

That will have an effect emotionally on a player that if teams show interest to trade you, it will be a distraction playing with that team now. Jaylen Brown might be on that condition now but he has to understand that everything is business no matter how good the player is on that team and shows loyalty.
But for let's say that rumor between Nets and Celtics pushes and Tatum stays on the team, what in world the Celtics is doing. I don't see that the Tatum-Durant duo will be effective in the long run. And besides, the current Celtics are not used to having a solo main player that always does isolation plays to make scores.
The Celtics are working as a team and Durant's playing style is not a fit for them.

We will see about that, I mean we haven't even see the new season so that that it will have an effect on Brown and the Celtics management. Still up to Jaylen Brown to show up, if he remains as a Celtic and do his thing, after all this guys are professionals. On the contrary, he can show the Celtics will have to regret their decision if he has another great season with them, maybe 20 points per game and from time to time taking over the game and take a win.

I have read a Facebook post (NBA Buzz) and I don't know if it's true but these are the proposed trades from both teams. Boston wants to trade Jaylen Brown and Derrick White for Durant and the Nets declined it. Nets proposed to get Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, multiple 1st round picks and a rotation player for Durant and the Celtics declined it. On the other hand, Tatum isn't and will not be involved in this trade talks regarding Durant. TBH, the Nets are asking too much for a player that can't carry his team. Yes he is one of the best shooters of all time in the modern era but that doesn't matter if you can't be a leader of your own team. Nets might want Tatum but they will not include him in the trade talks and I believe if this will happen, most probably it's Brown who will get traded. Like you, many of us are still waiting but I hope that the Nets will lower their offer to other players because they are asking too much in my opinion.

Of course, for now Tatum is untouchable, and we can see that Boston want's him to be the franchise player. And then know that even if they were able to acquire Durant, for sure he will not stay that long for them, maybe max is 3 years.
The leverage though might be too much for Boston, Brown and Smart and then multiple picks. So I don't see the Boston Celtics to just let go of their two stars with future picks. But good move on the part of the Nets, and see if Celtics are willing to strike that deal.

If Boston will take that deal, it's a best trade for the Nets. Smart and Brown are both promising stars that have good futures from the league, letting Durant go for these two and with the two future picks would really favor them. Not sure how Boston will take this one and if they are really interested and make it happen. Another question is on how KD and JT will jive and blend their games. Oh well, that's how the league works now, trades and switch teams is a business not a career concern now..

KD and the rest of the Celtics who would remain would find a way to gel / play together. That would definitely be giving up a lot for the Celtics, but if I were them I’d to close to whatever it took to get Durant as he brings you that much closer to a potential championship.

Brown and Smart are just ordinary players unlike Durant who is proven to be a superstar, he has won multiple finals MVP and has won a champion, I guess that would make the Celtics stronger if they will succeed in getting Durant. Who knows, they might win a championship next season.

Draymond Green shaking the social media universe. Again. https://twitter.com/Money23Green/status/1551387749390749696?s=20&t=YvBGiJPHAIloq7mFvqLp8AI’m watching the 98 Bulls vs Utah in the Finals… I can’t help but notice our 2017 team would’ve beaten these Bulls by a dub and these Jazz by 40 if they’re going to play these brands of basketball. And that’s why it’s dumb to compare Era’s Why are people getting more and more sensitive about these things? The last sentence is the main focus of what he said. It's dumb to compare eras. And I think we have discussed that here in our NBA thread. Bulls were great in their time and I have no little doubt about that. Lakers were also great with Kobe and Shaq. Spurs were damn good with the trio and the added young Kawhi Leonard. They have their own eras where they dominated the league but now it's just Warriors time.

That will have an effect emotionally on a player that if teams show interest to trade you, it will be a distraction playing with that team now. Jaylen Brown might be on that condition now but he has to understand that everything is business no matter how good the player is on that team and shows loyalty. And Jaylen Brown is a silent type of player. I think he is deeply emotional and this ongoing trade negotiation affected him mentally. I love Jaylen and I'd been saying before that he is the most efficient player in Boston. I hope he's got the right people around him and he can understand things from a wider perspective.
Boston Celtics' offer was already rejected by Brooklyn. Brooklyn wants some more future draft picks and Smart. But maybe they continued their negotiation. Celtics management is confident that KD with Tatum works. Personally, both KD and Tatum are good team players so I'm good with it. And for some years I'd been thinking that Jaylen will forever become second after Tatum if he stays forever loyal in Boston, especially in his prime years. I always think of Jaylen as the Harden in OKC days. Maybe he will grow as a better person and a player once given the chance to lead a team. So this may be a blessing in disguise if a deal between Celtics and Nets materialized.

The latest Woj bomb is that Boston is back in the Durant sweepstakes. https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1551454984314753024?s=21&t=w1qEPWBdZ9JMV3B1ji-y5gI don’t think it would be a good idea for Boston to get Durant but it seems like they’re always on the list of places Durant wants to play. I’m starting to think the Nets are the most likely team for Durant next season. I would like to see how a Durant and Kyrie trade would play out though. And break the chemistry? Ouch! They just got to the Finals, that should at least mean something to the Celtics management. Jaylen Brown will be part of the trade, that's for sure and that also maybe the best offer the Nets could get if ever they want Durant out just to end this long drama. JB and JT may not like what will happen but the fans may want to see this. KD in green. Somehow it made me reminisce the KG era. Not a good idea to get Durant while sacrificing the roles players, I hope they will not be greedy, they just go with the process, getting in the NBA finals is already a big success, who knows next time they will be the NBA champion. Celtics has to focus on improving their team not getting an old superstar that could already be prone to injury. Momentarily while reading the news I also disagree about what they will do. But as I take my time to analyze how Durant plays right now, I may want it to happen. KD is like a mercenary now, you hire him, you use him. Not the family type of a player where he will stay in one team like Dirk Nowitzki, Steph, Kobe, and more. These players didn't ask for a trade and their management didn't even tried to trade them. Another mercenary is Kawhi Leonard. Both of them doesn't need a long chemistry to be better in the floor, they can do it themselves and only relying with other players with what they are supposed to do according to their position. Perhaps it will be a good move for the Celtics but I won't go so far as losing most of my roleplayers.
