Some basketball enthusiast thinks that it's a bad move for the Dallas Mavericks to let go of Jalen Brunson.

But if we will look deeply, that was a good move as Brunson has no plan on staying with the Mavericks. It's like a money game and his preferred team, New York Knicks win on the offer. Brunson's really goal is to play for the New York Knicks. That was his hometown and his Father, Rick Brunson is serving as as an assistant coach for the New York Knicks.

It's good to let go of a player that is not intended to play with the organization for long. Good luck though on his career on New York Knicks.

John Wall agrees to a 2-year $13.2 million contract with the Los Angeles Clippers!
This ain't fake news right?
I was in doubt at where the Clippers would get the cap for him but he did went down to $6.6M per year. That's it for being an injury prone player.
This is near what happened to Cousins and it might go lower to a veteran contract if ever he won't play this season again.

This isn't fake news since it also appeared on the official NBA website. Honestly, I'm not surprised that Wall signed such a small contract as he has missed so many games over the past few seasons, both due to injury and a disagreement with the Rockets management. So I think the Clippers offered that contract because they just don't want to take too many risks as there is a possibility that Wall won't play at the same high level as before. By the way, it looks like Wall's salary will be reduced by ~7 times from last season, although he's unlikely to be worried about that, considering he's already received $41 mln from the Rockets.

I read that the Lakers and Celtics are in the fight for Thomas Bryant. with 56.1% efficiency he is a good option to be signed by either the Lakers or Celtics, but what made me laugh was the news that Zion Williamson even without having played games he will sign a renewal contract and the contract value is 221 million euros, but you have some conditions: he will have to get into one of the All - Nba teams or be defender of the year next season, if he doesn't make it meet these requirements then the amount he will receive until 2028 will be 185 million euros, the contract extension only comes into effect in 2023.

Some contract recently include that that kind incentives, bring the team to a championships, finals, playoffs, won an individual awards etc, you know what I mean. I think it's a win-win for both the management and the player themselves. So the player in this case is Zion W. needs to exert more effort win individual accolades and then work hard to bring the team to the next level, so it's a perfect contract for player with a huge pay.

That's what you called incentives, sometimes it's not included in the contract but it's just a management prerogative to give bonuses on their achievement. It's a way to motivate players, just like in business, if you pass the quota, you will get an incentive to reward your hard work, it's not new actually as even in local sports it also exists.

The man may have some poor work ethics but he has an undeniable potential. He is yet to reach his peak and Pelicans management is probably thinking he could overcome his injuries. I thought they did well last season without his service so keeping him could make them a serious contender in a couple of years. Ingram + McCollum + Williamson on the court looks scary.

It's not a poor work ethics, he is just unlucky that he got injured every season, if he can pass at least one season and get in the playoffs, I think he will show his true potential. Looking at his stats,  you can really tell that he belong to the list of NBA active superstars, especially for the big man.

This kid is like Anthony Davis that despite he is prone to injury is still getting a max contract.

As we can see on his stats - https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/willizi01.html
I think he really deserves to earn a good contract, besides, when he is active on the floor, he is giving his everything for the team to win, so you are right, he maybe unlucky, so let's hope he will finish one whole season to prove his real worth.

As I am reading some articles on what some teams have been doing and who're players were on the free agent

And here are the Teams with a winner and loser decision in my opinion,

Boston Celtics I really think the right move for the Celtics is to cast out players that they think are not fitted for the team,

Danilo Gallinari - is from San Antonio Spurs and getting his way for the Boston Celtics

Malcolm Brogdon - is from Indiana Pacers and making his way for the Boston Celtics but the Pacers will take back Daniel Theis, Aaron Nesmith, Nik Stauskas, Malik Fitts, Juwan Morgan, and the 2023 first-round pick from Boston,

Atlanta Hawks

Kevin Huerter - Traded to Sacramento Kings was a bad decision for me and traded for a draft pick player that might as well be useful or not be useful for the future, but if the dub is useful the lease is it's not going to be this season,

Dejounte Murray - Getting him from the Spurs was a win for the Hawks he can be paired with Trae Young for Offensive or defensive because of his height and reach they can surely use Muray for those outcomes,

New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson the truth is this is a win for Zion Williamson gaining 5 years rookie contract for the Pelicans, but if he stays healthy for the upcoming season then it is a win for the Pelicans,

Minnesota Timberwolves

Rudy Gobert gaining this player from Utah Jazz is a fit to the bill,

Karl-Anthony Towns - signing him 4 more years contract for the Timberwolves, and with Gobert on the boat this makes the Timberwolves a solid two-tower team,

Utah Jazz The Jazz have taken a whole new player from the Timberwolves,

Malik Beasley- From Timberwolves

Patrick Beverley- From Timberwolves

Walker Kessler- From Timberwolves

Leandro Bolmaro- From Timberwolves

Jarred Vanderbilt- From Timberwolves

Dallas Mavericks

Jalen Brunson - Losing Jalen Brunson was not the smart idea for the Mavericks and Brunson had gone to the New York Knicks, this is a win for Brunson and a loss for Mavericks,

...., but what made me laugh was the news that Zion Williamson even without having played games he will sign a renewal contract and the contract value is 221 million euros, but you have some conditions: he will have to get into one of the All - Nba teams or be defender of the year next season, if he doesn't make it meet these requirements then the amount he will receive until 2028 will be 185 million euros, the contract extension only comes into effect in 2023.

The only problem with this young superstar, his injuries still pulling him back.

But yes, once he overcomes this and starts playing a whole season, the value of his contract might be paid enough,
with CJ being added to their lineup, his impact will be more being felt, especially if Zion is playing alongside with the
whole roster of NP. They've got a good run last season and expect more good quality games when they have Zion
playing with them.

I think if a basketball player is going to play with high performance just to make money or get something, it wouldn't be a good thing. Of course, it's good to reward successful people, but I don't think it's right to provide motivation in this way.
I can't say that I like the players that I see such contracts Smiley

If Dallas was planning a move like that, they could have pursued another talented player with baggage like John Wall. Anyway, what's done is done and they can only hope to get one that would really help Luka.

I just found out that Andre Drummond agreed to a 2-year, $6.6 million deal with the Bulls. Huge decline from his days at Detroit but a bit better compared to his contracts at Lakers and Sixers.

Another deal you might have missed as well was Devin Booker agreeing on a $224 million 4-year supermax contract. You think he deserves it?

Luka and Kyrie. No, that may be an unwise decision if ever they will. All I see is Kyrie-Westbrook being discussed by the Lakers-Nets but not Mavs and I think the Mavs should be adding more roleplayers as Luka and Dinwiddie are already making great chemistry, I'd stick with that.
Agile forwards should be their focus if they are chasing small ball line up. Or, a better center position since Luka doesn't play fast game. He is good at isolation plays, attacking the paint, and creating room for everybody by sucking the defense.
They have Wood now, that tells they know what is missing.

The purposed is for a reliable point guard that can serve a substitute with Luka to give him some time. The chemistry is also can be work out if they will push to this trade but I just realized that Kyrie has an attitude problem which might be bad for Mavs if Luka don’t accept Kyrie.

Kyrie - Westbrook is worst that Kyrie - Luka because westbrook is much more downgrade by Durant with same attitude problem with Kyrie. This will gonna an insane trade if Lakers proceed to this. Even Lebron can blend with him.

We are going to find out once the season starts, both are earning a decent contract, so both are superstars, their chemistry is very important and I hope Gobert will learn to be a clutch player so he can help his young Minnesota team to succeed in the playoffs.

Well, this is just my opinion and I like Brunson more than Kyrie Irving, and I think Kyrie Irving is not a good fit for the Dallas Mavericks, he can surely do the offense works by himself but I don't see him as a defensive player at all, and not like Stephen Curry that is playing both roles, I can not trust Kyrie Irving with the defensive department, and I think the Mavericks would likely to used some hands when it comes with defense, but it is your opinion, I really think it is a loss for the Mavericks, and this Article is just rumors and not confirmed yet, because I think Kyrie Irving is likely to be staying for the Brooklyn Nets until his last contract, here is the ARTICLE

If Dallas was planning a move like that, they could have pursued another talented player with baggage like John Wall. Anyway, what's done is done and they can only hope to get one that would really help Luka.

They don't really need Kyrie Irving, in my opinion, Luka Doncic is better and can also do what Kyrie can do, what the Mavericks need is a good player that can focus on defense or a player that could help Luka into heavy scoring, I really think Luka Doncic or the Mavericks doesn't really need Kyrie Irving, and Luka Doncic is more consistent in my opinion,

I guess it depends on who they will trade for Gobert.

Bunch of players will be sent to Jazz for Gorbert, I don't know I don't like this thread or I think Jazz gets the advantage here.

https://www.nba.com/news/jazz-wolves-rudy-gobert-trade

Quote
Timberwolves receive:

• Rudy Gobert

Jazz receive:

• Malik Beasley
• Patrick Beverley
• Leandro Bolmaro
• Walker Kessler
• Jarred Vanderbilt
• 2023 first-round pick
• 2025 first-round pick
• 2026 pick swap
• 2027 first-round pick
• 2029 first-round pick (protected)

For one guy, that's too much in return IMO.

Boston Celtics- The young team seemed very serious to take the title next year. They just stole Malcolm Brogdon and another reliable experienced multi role Danilo Gallinari. They just lost Theis and some bench.

Brooklyn Nets- KD wants out. Obviously, only few will want to play with injury prone and drama queens Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons.

Denver Nuggets- I am expecting them to make some moves. MVP Jokic needs some help ffs. I felt like they don't deserved Jokic. Jokic is such a very nice guy with some loyalty.

Golden State Warriors- Great move re-signing Looney. Is it cheap for Looney at $25 million for 3 years? Or it is because Looney is just loyal and is obviously very happy in Dub nation? Another savvy move by the Warriors is the signing of Donte DiVencenzo an experienced player from last year champion, the Milwaukee Bucks. Or are these signings possible because the Warriors cannot really afford to retain Andrew Wiggins? They also lost Payton II.

Los Angeles Lakers- Wanted to move Westbrook. I can understand they will risk everything just to utilize Lebron while he is still performing.

Miami Heat- They are doomed if there's no reliable additions with P.J. Tucker leaving.

Milwaukee Bucks- Lost DiVecenzo but acquired Joe Ingles. Fair enough.

Minnesota Timberwolves- Bold move but very interesting. Will their two towers and Edwards uplift Minnesota next season?

Philadelphia 76ers- Very nice additions. Defensive specialist P.J. Tucker and Daniel House.

Utah Jazz- They seemed rebuilding? They got good future draft picks but they better not waste Mitchell's talent.
