Zion not taking care of his body is a personal choice at this point, not some injury prone situation. Injury prone is when you do what you should and your body still can't handle it, which happens and we are all different people so it's understandable that some people may get drafted high and then be injured.

I remember very clearly Greg Oden getting drafted first, even before Durant, and yet Oden didn't had any career at all in the NBA, just played a few years and even then didn't play many games. He played a total of 103 games, and left the league after only 3 seasons, to be fair he was in the NBA for 6 seasons, but did not play in 3 of those at all, not even a single game, and played 103 games in the other 3 seasons. That dude was injury prone, Zion is not, Zion is just fat.

If I'm not mistaken, it's inclusive in his contract that he shouldn't get overweight otherwise he might not get the perks included or the additional laid out in his contract. I think in the case of Lebron, yeah he is spending a lot in his body but I will say that it is also with his genetics that he was able to stay away from big injuries.

You can say that to even to John Stockton, who throughout in his career was not sideline by injuries. So there are also that factors that it's hard to measure as to why some players didn't get injured during their long careers but there are some that is very fragile.

It's all individual, because many factors can influence a player's susceptibility to injury. One of them is simply bad luck. Even a disciplined player who stays fit throughout their career can still get injured. It's obvious, but any player might suffer a serious injury just by slipping on a wet court or landing awkwardly on an opponent.

Yes, it could also play a role, but let's say we removed bad luck out of the equation, then we can say that generic has something to do with it. If you have a good DNA just like Lebron is, maybe his tendons and muscles are really solid and attach to each other, and then he has the money to throw and invest on his body, then that's what we are seeing in him right now as he was able to stay 20+ and continuing and still on his average ppg without any deterioration in his game.

And as for others who might had a bad DNA in them, they can't simply stand on the hard and pound of a 82 games. Like AD who are prone to injury and same as with Zion and other players in the past.

Those DNA can do some things, but as far as i know, most players are injured due to their routines, i can make an example for fisherman's who plays basketball, if you have experience to play with them, when you bump them guess who will fly you, their body were built different, its not the DNA its what they do daily, also they were running on the court every play, but their energy never goes down, meaning, if you are use to something, makes a lot of different, maybe players that got injured most often and star players are doing something more often than practice and play basketball, but Kobe Jordon and LeBron Stockton do lot more basketball thing, with health conditioning also.

Damn, that's one of the most painful injuries, having a torn hamstring, and it's one muscle that most sports athlete really neglect and it should be warm up enough. I remember James Harden has this kind of injuries as well as Giannis.

But in any case, as you have said, Dame is back in Portland and so I think as per my experience when Dame playing with them prior to joining the Bucks, he has a massive game wherein they were a huge underdog but was able to win. And as a gambler, I have some of those wins so I will look forward for Dame to bring that kind of games to Portland and us gamblers betting on them specially if they are a underdog.
Considering Blazers are already tanking, it's really not a big deal for them to have such an injury in the team. They do not want to win games anyways, they want to just get away with some bad results and a high draft pick this season that's all they want.

So while injuries are bad personally, the kid is lucky because he can take his time, get better, and do not have to rush himself at all, he could even take another full month on rehabilitation if he wants and that won't be an issue. If we are dealing with better results, then it's going to be ok and not going to matter. We are not there yet, and we are not going to see huge returns at the moment, it's going to be something that the kid will comeback stronger from this.

It's a bit connected TBH. Him not taking care of his body will lead to him getting more injury-prone.

This is based on what I watched a few days ago, but he said that the fatter you are, the more strain it will be on your muscles hence, the injury occurs. If you will look at his injury history, most of them are either Quad, Foot and Hamstring which has muscles in it. Also include the fact that he doesn't have any proper conditioning at all is a recipe for him being an injury-prone type of player. Now that he's skinny, it will affect the strain on his muscle, and that might cause him to have less injuries than what we saw a few seasons ago.

I have no idea about the history of Greg Oden's history, but for me, he's the biggest "What if?" in NBA history.

This is actually not new for teams in NBA especially if they want to rebuild their team and possibly get high draft position. This is risky move for team especially if they undergo in this situation since no one would really knows if they can acquire a solid player from draft and not a bust ones.

Maybe teams should rebuild their team by doing trades and exploring the free agency market since with this they can provably get those proven great good players and even stars on the league.

For many years Blazers failed to rebuild their team and they are been stuck on similar situation for many years.

OKC made the right decisions when they try to rebuild in the start i thought they are dumb to let the players go like Durant, Brody, harden, but they are already set, they accumulated lots of draft picks and position themselves, and right now they don't know what to do because they are position to get the if not best top players in the draft every year, that's the right rebuilding process, unlike other teams who just give away their players and get unguarranteed players, in the draft, and sometimes get the bust.

That is the very basic definition of DNA as you have said, they might be fisherman, but their body is used to this kind of brutal that they could have inherit it from their father, to their father's father as being a fisherman is passes down to generations.

Health conditioning will come along as well. Again if you have bad genetics, maybe after a few round you get tired and you are not build for that kind of endurance. That's why there are great college players too that when they entered the NBA, they've exposed as doesn't have the body to play and it could also be attributed to bad genes.

To be honest, I even pity Greg Oden because he had the potential to become a good center at that time, but his injury proneness quickly ruined his NBA career. In fact, his body wasn't initially ready for the stresses that players experience throughout a regular season.

Because they know some teams will go after them, if the team drafted them wants them out, the problem with that is the price for them will be low, unless they will make the new team give what they want, but other team learn their lessons, they will not waste money, if zion really want to last he will start treating his body like a temple, it will be a waste of time and his effort to make it to the nba ending like a bust, who will not last for 15 years in the league, and he is a no.1 pick it will be a talk of the town for sure.

It’s to resist cheeseburger if the crave on greased call him especially after the game or practice. Still kudos to him because even though he is already obese he can still have a monster game when he is on momentum.

The problem is more on mental strength of Zion since discipline is very hard to pursue if there’s no pressure on him either diet. I’m surprised that Luka got traded quickly even though he is the main star and performing good just because for the same issue of diet while Zion still eat all you can on cheeseburger without any sign that he will be traded.
The only player that body is not built like LeBron or any top players, but is performing at the same level and not injured mostly of the season is jokic i mean look at the guy, don't have a six pack, but out performing the leagues star, just don't mention his horse and for sure he will go home, kidding aside, they should ask jokic what is his secret, instead of eating those cheese burger, if im his nutritionist I'll cook him corn soup everyday, not the corn soup in a pack, and let him eat lots of boiled corn, for sure he will be like pacman.

I agree on this but Jokic is different since his diet is not the same with Zion even though they have body frame.

Jokic game too is very calculated and not only a sheer force since he often do assist compared to Zion that only ramming defenders until he gets to the paint.

Jokic is much is smart enough to not force his body on unnecessary physical game instead he use his teammates to attack the rim.

Jokić doesn’t have the same athleticism as Zion, but his basketball IQ is way above every other big man in the league. Honestly, you can put Jokić on any team and I believe that team would turn into a championship contender. That’s how special he is. I’m even surprised he hasn’t won MVP in the last two seasons.. I really think he was more deserving.

We are less than a month away from NBA basketball! As it usually is in recent years, I think the big story will be the Lakers roster of Luka, LeBron, and Ayton. They’re the only team that I think made exciting moves that will be fun to see play out. Maybe the Houston Rockets, but I don’t think that experiment is going to go as well.

So, the Warriors finally made a move and signed the 39yr old Horford to a multi-year deal. It’s better than nothing, but their lack of urgency in getting better options isn’t a good look. I feel like the Warriors are still too confident in their small ball lineup even now. As a Warriors fan, I can’t help but feel a little disappointed. While other teams are strengthening their rosters, the Warriors seem unwilling to make a move, even when there’s a chance to get a decent center or rebounder. Look, even Butler can’t help but question the Warriors’ front office.

Finally? We have heard that news from months ago, and there were even rumors that they might not get him as there are history about Butler and Butler, (but not sure if this is true because I haven't seen it before).

But in any case, it's good to see that the veteran Horford has a new home, he has been a true Celtic before, but I guess the Celtics is slowly moving to a new direction with regards to him. The same with the Warriors when they let go of their homegrown and crowd favorite Kevon Looney.

Who would've thought that these 2 who taunted each other during the Eastern Conference finals are now teammates on a different team already? Cheesy Kind of funny at least for me, but... it is what it is.

I'm also a bit disappointed with the recent moves of the Warriors... or did they have moves during the off-season? Wait they didn't have any until this time. Cheesy Anyway, they made some moves, but their roster still isn't enough to compete in a stacked Western Conference. Like what I said in the past, they're becoming more of a Brooklyn Nets 2.0 where they got Pierce, Garnett, and Johnson as their key players. The roster of the Warriors are very old if you will ask me especially their key players. Butler, Curry and Green are nearing on their post-prime career already.

For me, they just did a desperation moves with signing of Horford. I guess what's good is that, they re-signed GP2 and De'Anthony Melton, but still, this isn't enough for them to compete. TBH, I'm still curious why they picked Horford over Kevon Looney. :X

This is surprising, but it’s not like it only happens now. IIRC, back then Kobe and Artest (Metta World Peace, now Metta Sandiford-Artest)  hated each other on the court, but later they became teammates and even won a championship together. So maybe this is also a sign that the Warriors could win another championship.

I don’t really expect much from Horford since he’s not young anymore, but his experience and aggressiveness on the court could still bring a spark of energy to the team.

Or the infamous Kobe Bryant - Matt Barnes. If I'm not mistaken, after that incident, Kobe recruited Barnes to play with the Lakers.

So there's no finality in the NBA, there could be players that hate each other but then become team mates due to circumstances that even they have control, they can't do anything about it. And as pro maybe when they see each other in the same uniform then they will just shrug and have a laugh.

Thanks for pointing that out, that’s a good one too. I almost forgot about Kobe not even blinking when Matt Barnes faked throwing the ball in his face. For me, this is really just all about business, at the end of the day their goal is to win a championship. If a player can help with that, then it makes sense. In Artest’s case, he really did with his energy. I still remember how he hit Harden so hard, and it seems like he is not aware of what he did.

Totally funny! They've bantered to each other and then now, the Golden State Warriors have acquired both of them. I think that there's something good about this and they're going to help each other for Al to get his 2nd title and Jimmy to get his first whilst for Steph, to get his next multiples. The NBA is truly full of surprises and we'll never know who's going to get traded and will be the next one. I wish to see them do that sign at the same time in an important game maybe in the playoffs or semis or finals.
