I think everyone knew the fact that his game is already deteriorating ever since he moved to Lakers. That last championship he made is just a bonus on his legacy since he is not that dominant anymore most especially on his recent performance.

But yeah some NBA fans still think the 2020 championship doesn’t really count since it was played in the bubble. No crowd, no homecourt advantage and the whole setup just felt weird compared to a normal season. People even joke about it being Mickey Mouse ring lol because it was won at Disney World.

But honestly, being locked in that environment for months and still winning takes a lot of mental toughness. For me, it still deserves respect.. a ring is a ring..

LeBron just came out and said that he will most likely be sidelined for another month as he wants to take it slow to make sure he is fully healthy upon his return. Seems like a possibility, he is old. It could also be cover while they negotiate a trade. Everyone is currently denying that is what is happening though.
Maybe both. It involves his future and retirement, so he doesn’t want to take too many risks with his health. He needs to stay healthy until he gets his 5th ring so he can negotiate well before retiring. They’ll keep denying and won’t reveal anything about a trade or his future with the Lakers until an agreement is reached. I believe they’ll only announce it once it’s finalized. There are many current and rising stars, but it will never be the same once LeBron is no longer in the league.

Lebron has no luxury for waiting for his 5th ring since he is already near to retirement. Besides, he doesn’t have the capability to call a shot for a ring since he can’t carry a team anymore.

A team that will acquire target is probably his popularity for a more support on the ticket sales of the team matches on their home court.

Lebron is still a good player but I believe he is not in the position anymore to decide for the team like acquiring players just to support him.

Highlights on my Chrome mean the season is near. I don't want to bet just yet. I will go for the tip-off.

Donovan Mitchell leads Cavaliers’ pursuit of reaching NBA Finals for first time since 2018
https://apnews.com/article/cavaliers-mitchell-mobley-atkinson-3a5383a7f531aefd0774d3b258b208a4

They were the top team in the East last season. I even thought they were undefeatable because of their twin towers and the two backcourt player, Garland and Mitchell.
Now, they added Lonzo Ball to the picture. A pure point guard who doesn't care about points. Assists are his main priority, and I bet that is a good choice for Mitchell to score more.
The question? Are they really a championship contender in the East? Knicks also upgraded their roster, and the Orlando Magic ain't to be underestimated. I think the East will be more entertaining this season.

Lonzo looked good yesterday. He was dishing out some highlights. LaMelo had a great highlight yesterday too throwing a left handed lob on a fast break… Lonzo will be a good addition to the Cavs if he can stay healthy, but I still feel like they’re missing a guy who can take the team to the promise land.

Lebron is still a good player but I believe he is not in the position anymore to decide for the team like acquiring players just to support him.
While that is true, not like there is much he can do to win it at 40+ years old. I mean sure he has Doncic with him, but they do not have much else to play with. They have Rui, Reaves, Vanderbilt, Vincent, Kleber, Ayton, Marcus Smart, Bronny, Knecth, these are the players Lebron is playing with.

While I agree that Doncic is an amazing superstar, the rest look like a mostly g-league level players. It's true that they have some decent players here and there, like I take that Rui and Smart are good defenders, but that's not enough. So even if Lebron really wants to, which I am sure he has done every single year of his career, I am sure that he is not going to end up winning this year, because he doesn't have the team for it.

Seems like a possibility, he is old. It could also be cover while they negotiate a trade. Everyone is currently denying that is what is happening though.

I have a feeling that all these rumors about LeBron possibly being traded will remain just rumors. He has already accepted the player option for the upcoming season, which means he will earn $52 million. That is a lot of money, and not every team can afford a player with such a contract right now. In addition, LeBron can refuse to be traded under the terms of his contract.
The time that they can trade Le-GM is I think days before the all-star weekend. We're nearing the start of the regular season already so trades are prohibited during that time.

Anyway, rumors will just be rumors, and I don't thin there's any team right now that are willing to pay a 40-year old player with $52M. That's just a loss for them knowing that they'll be only having him for one regular season only. Imagine you giving up future draft picks and some good players just to get an already injury-prone player in Le-GM? If I'm the GM, I'd rather wait for him to become a free agent and pay him a veteran minimum deal.

As for his injury though,  I just hope that he's fine, and him sitting for a month isn't that much of a big deal especially we are just starting the season. They still have Luka and Reaves though to carry the team. Forget about Ayton. Cheesy

The new season is finally starting. I didn't follow the pre-season games at all, except for some videos and news that appeared in my feed.
For example, Malcolm Brogdon's early retirement decision seemed strange to me. There must be a personal reason behind it, because from what we saw on the court, he was a very valuable player. He would've been a good rotation player for the Knicks this season. His decision should be respected but I'm almost sure it wasn't for on-court reasons.

Likely a sign of getting old and can't really defeat age. But seeing him not retiring while Brogdon retired as the 2017 ROTY, that's history compared to him as 2004 ROTY.

I think that he's pushing for something. His heartfelt message is emotional to me and I think that he wants to do other things after dedicating his life to basketball. Well, we wish him all the best for the next chapter of his life.

The NBA is rumored to be announcing a season long suspension for Amen Thompson today after his fight yesterday. Another major blow for the Rockets who already lost their starting point guard for the season. Suddenly Kevin Durant is probably feeling like he didn’t make the best move heading to Houston.
I just saw this rumour and I couldn't believe it. Isn't it too harsh of a punishment? It was a big move/punch but it is not a Malice at the Palace situation. Something changed in the Nba about the fights and punishments? Fred Van Vleet was a huge loss for them, if any long term thing happen to Amen, it would be an even bigger loss. Then KD would be in a situation he would really regret to have come to this team. If they lose another key player, Houston would have no chance to achieve anything this season.

LeBron just came out and said that he will most likely be sidelined for another month as he wants to take it slow to make sure he is fully healthy upon his return. It is a natural thing but I hate this aspect of this league. Players and teams are too obsessed about these things. This makes me realize how great the players like Nowitzki, Kobe, Tim Duncan, Reggie Miller etc. Sometimes there are more important things other than contracts. But it shouldn't affect the things in Lakers in general. Luka will be Luka and if other pieces will fit, they can have a good season.

I think that they are a championship team. If they will continue to become consistent for this season then that speaks about them and there is no doubt on how good they are as a team. Not a super team but with their key players, chemistry and consistency, they've shown how good they are. It's keeping them on the line and they're not letting go any of their key players. Most of the trades are not even in them and they don't want to touch any of them, hopefully it's like that and none of them will get traded during this season because they're like a team that's built in friendship and not adding any superstar at all.

They just collapse in the playoffs, maybe that is not their time yet, but they are a good team and correct they have a good chemistry sometimes in basketball even you want to win the ball just don't get any basket at all, and maybe Donovan struggle in the playoffs are just coincidence, I'm hoping they will be able to pass through this year if there are no changes in their rotation, maybe they just need more experience, and not aim for the top spot, because they might have fatigue in the playoffs.

It boils down on Donovan Mitchell. And so far he hasn't proven himself, just like when the Jazz was one of the best team in the West when Mitchell was with them. They are also very deep in every position. Even had Clarkson winning 6th man if my memory serves me right.

So right now we can't really say that he can lead the Cavs until they crossed that bridge. Or it could be the same picture with the Jazz, just saying. So the burden right now is with Mitchell and he should push himself and not be just that another good player that was not able to be an elite and lead his team to a championship. Pressure on him? Yes, but that's the hallmark of a a great player, they were able to rise to the occasion. Do Mitchell has it? Maybe.

Indeed, not their time yet as they collapse during the playoffs, I'm one of those who thinks that they'll gonna make it in the finals as they shows decent performances, and with the way they've played during the regular season they just need to keep that brotherhood and that trust from each other, maybe this season will be better as they added Lonzo Ball who's known to be a good playmaker giving Mitchel, Garlan and Allen enough space to find their places to recieves his pass to create a basket.

While it is true that Cavs will not be a small team to beat, it's also have to be known that they can't rely on Lonzo.

While he seems healthier now, and can finally play, we have no idea how long that will last, will he play the whole season? Will he be healthy all his career from now on? Will he be injured again in a month? None of this is known and they can't build their squad around that.

So while they do have Lonzo and will play him more and more as long as he can take it, but the moment he starts feeling not so great, they have Garland to take his place right there. Will they be a great team?

I am not sure, they will be good, but enough to win a title? I am not sure, it doesn't look like it that way to me, but anything could happen.

Cavs weakness is closing the game when their opponent is already gaining the momentum on the series. Most of their playoffs choke is because they can’t find a way to become consistent until the end to close the series especially if some of their star player is injured.

They have weak bench player and their core players doesn’t have a championship experience that’s why they are just strong on regular season that has no pressure games.

Having Lonzo will not result to a huge impact on their output. They can be demolished easily on the East during playoffs.

I suppose one of the reasons why he decided to end his NBA career is his injury proneness. It's worth noting that he has a long list of injuries throughout his NBA career, and he missed many games in the last two seasons because of this.
Although he could be called a promising player, in reality, this is another example of how not every player can withstand the NBA's busy schedule

It's obvious that he has lost step too because of the injuries he suffered. But during his prime he is a good shooter. But just like anyone who who just injured, majority of them wasn't able to get back to their previous form, including Malcom. He as a good rotational player when he was with Boston too. But again, he might have felt that his career is getting nowhere and that he might be high risk of a possible injury and that could be the advise of his doctor. Also, he might have settled already, uses his money in the NBA into investment and so he can now retire without thinking of his future as he could be earning passively.

What do you think about the potential lineup for Sacramento Kings?

It is like a combination of ex-Euro and NBA players.  Smiley  It would be a quite old starting five though. Only Sabonis is under 30 (29). The rest are all 30+. It is good to have lots of experience but still would be nice to have some youngsters too.

But still a good lineup I see there. I don't know if they have a good depth in their roster. But this five can do some nice work I assume.

Is that the starting lineup?
I’m happy to see Dennis finally become a starter if that’s the case, but I’m a bit afraid Westbrook might mess up the system.

No disrespect to him, but isn’t it true that no teams were willing to sign him after Denver? Good thing he was able to get a deal with the Kings, but honestly, I believe Westbrook is already past his prime.

The Kings has really disbanded their core already and only Sabonis is left. Still a decent lineup for me, but then again, we have seen Lavine and DeRozan on the Bulls as starters but it didn't end up well for them.

Although this is the West and style of playing could be different. And I would have to agree with the Westbrook observation, I don't know but in every team that he is in, somewhat he has been a polarizing figure. Hopefully with the Kings, it will be on the positive side and not mess up the system.
