So ! Guiminer is not to blame ! lol Take that ! Abracanoob ! :p
This DNS issue cost me about two days of mining with what little mhash/s I have. That, combined with a little bad pool luck, earned me .03btc during that time.
Equally depressing was seeing how fast my round credit went away.
Is the pool's website down ?

all the servers are working fine - our paid DNS provider is offline main site /WWW http://110.173.227.109/mining URLS - you will need to add your usual port us.ozco.in 67.210.248.14 ecoinpool only eu.ozco.in 176.9.187.104 ecoinpool only au.ozco.in 59.167.117.97 ecoinpool and stratum stratum.ozco.in 192.198.93.133 stratum only eustratum.ozco.in 62.113.214.133 stratum only I am looking at other solutions, currently the site is up and everything is working by IP sorry for the inconvenience Graet

in your mining url replace (for example) stratum.ozco.in:3333 with 192.198.93.133:3333 either in your command line, .bat or config file depending on node/protocol you use

Looks like the DNS host is down yet again ... Please continue to use by IP until we are 100% sure things are back to normal. all the servers are working fine - our paid DNS provider is offline main site /WWW http://110.173.227.109/mining URLS - you will need to add your usual port us.ozco.in 67.210.248.14 ecoinpool only eu.ozco.in 176.9.187.104 ecoinpool only au.ozco.in 59.167.117.97 ecoinpool and stratum stratum.ozco.in 192.198.93.133 stratum only eustratum.ozco.in 62.113.214.133 stratum only I am looking at other solutions, currently the site is up and everything is working by IP sorry for the inconvenience Graet Edit: I found out that my local cache is still being a pain... URL's resolve now...

Over the next 24 hours we will be migrating to CloudFlare www.cloudflare.com for DNS and CDN and other advantages There might be some interruption to name services so if needed please use the IPs listed in previous post to connect to pool and mining nodes. Cheers Graet

disadvantages of central infrastructure.. perhaps namecoin could solve this ? I think that was the idea behind it, unfortunately it has not developed as much as hoped In other news cloudflare is activated on ozcoin.net and ozco.in - DNS may take some time to update though

Mh, the point I see is: it would force the miners to run a nmc-daemon for having an own "dns-server". But other disadvantages I do not see right now, as time to sync etc. seems not to be better with dns. and this could save some costs for hosting a pool when we think some time ahead because you can (merge)mine sufficient nmc to "pay" the system..
so what needs to be solved that you want to jump in?

very true but p2pool has other issues that cost miners revenues (I mean beside the work running the pool themself and keeping it up to date / state of the art..) e.g. with increased stealth rate .. or is that solved already?

It's been performing equivalently or better than any "standard" pool for months now. The recent upgrade to v9 has increased the stale rate, but that doesn't seem to have decreased the number of blocks it finds. http://p2pool.info/M

From earlier posts I gathered that dynamic difficulty is adjusted per worker connection, so I could have a fast miner doing high difficulty shares and a slower miner doing diff 1 shares on the same worker account. However, all my miners are doing diff 1 shares when vardiff is set to -1. The fastest is just 2GH/s, so it might not be enough to trigger a change. I tried manually adjusting vardiff to 4, but my miners are still doing difficulty 1 work after reconnecting. Do I have to disconnect all miners simultaneously before the change takes effect, or could there be some other issue?

That is how it should work, yep. 2Gh/s isnt enough to trigger higher diff I set 2 on mine when you say reconnect, do you mean restarting miner or leaving miner running and reconnecting? EDIT: or you might have just found a bug. looking into it now

EDIT: or you might have just found a bug. looking into it now Bug found and squashed! You should now be able to edit your worker profile, change the vardiff, and restart your rigs with the new settings. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for help finding that bug!
