Hi, I've been mining on Ozcoin for a couple of weeks now, loving it so far...

but...  Cry

the site is telling me one of my rigs hasn't submitted a share for 14 hours, the other two haven't for 7 hours. But my rigs inform me they're happily hashing away and shares are being submitted and accepted. I haven't changed anything for at least a week. What's going on? They're all connected to eustratum.ozco.in:3333.

If I've said anything amusing and/or informative and you're feeling generous:

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I know payment was withhold for PPS, however as Graet now moved all users to DGM i'm having an open balance of about 7 BTC (confirmed).
My payment threshold is currently 2.0 BTC.

Are ALL payments (of any mining type) currently suspended?

Over a day without an update.

Still no payout.

And the web site has just gone offline.
[edit -- Seems to be back now. Perhaps a short term glitch anywhere between here and there.]

Regardless,
At this point I no longer have any miners pointed to Ozcoin.

Hello Miners
I made a mistake:
A week ago I was getting concerned at the continued run of bad luck, I should have turned PPS off then.
Luck did not improve and after not sleeping well I got up at 3:00am to find we were on another long block and realized something needed to be done immediately.
The last 50 blocks on PPS
paid out  2071.11934723
earnt     1247.92580065
made up of
10 of last 50 payout less than 25btc
24 between 25btc and 50 btc
16 of last 50 payout more than 50btc
When the pool gets 25btc + a little transactions fees per block it is easy to see this is a problem.

Something that didn't help:
Miners moving from DGM to PPS when round went over 100% of Difficulty, I found ~40% of the pool was on PPS until share count passed difficulty then PPS lept to 80%+ of the pool - good for the miners, not so good for the pool. We initially coded payout method changes only be available at end of round but when PoT was introduced this changed - my fault for not making sure miners could not exploit this aspect of the pool.

About Payouts:
Payout have been stopped until we can code the payout script to take up where it left off when wallet empties.
Currently payout script starts at user 1 every time, if I top up wallet and payouts run the oldest members will get paid as usual, newer members wont be paid for some time.
Changing the code means we will roll through all users before starting back at user 1, the fairest way I can think of currently and hopefully will be complete within a few hours.

What I am doing:
I have put all of my personal coins into the pool and am trying to buy coins, another option I am exploring is borrowing 500-700BTc to be able to catch up on miners pay -not having a lot of luck with either yet, another option is to sell my batch2 Avalon preorder (seems people are paying up to $50k for them - crazy I know)
I am also involved in other Bitcoin based businesses, any earnings of mine from these I will be putting into pool as available until pool is "back on it's feet" or loans repaid if I am able to secure one.

What miners can do to help:
Keep mining
Anyone that is able to wait a little longer for coins could remove payout address until pool funds are replenished allowing those more in need of payouts to be able to come to top of the queue quicker
Above all be patient, I am committed to paying all miners as soon as possible and continuing to improve the Ozcoin pool.

I apologize for this major hiccup but am doing my best to get these issues resolved as I think more pools closing is not good for Bitcoin.

Best wishes
Graeme

Hard times :-(  But I am with you.  I set my threshold so high I would not get paid for a long, looooong time.  :-)

I can understand you making a mistake, if there is a risk then you can end up on the wrong side of it. But this thing you said doesn't make any sense to me.  You are reminding me of Tom the bASIC man (who ended up honoring all his debt.).

Please restate the problem in simple sober terms.  How much are you short?  Will you pay out to your miners?  How long till you can make the payment?

I don't mind waiting.  You've helped me a lot I'm willing to reciprocate.

I hope you get things figured out soon for the best of everyone, but firstly for yourself.  I only use DGM, and currently I can't mine too much anyway since my basement is flooded...

If you had a pre-order BFL Jalapeno I'd buy it!  Good luck to you.

the pool ran out of coins, I did not turn pps off soon enough to stop it going into debit.
approximately 700BTC short
I stated I will pay out miners and plan to continue pool
I cannot give a timeframe yet- if someone lends me 700BTC today it will be easy, if I have to scrape together my earning from mining and other projects it will take longer.... when I am able to give more defintite times I will

(I only received coins to the value of 2/3 what I paid to bASIC)

Thanks for waiting, all help appreciated Smiley

I turned my payment threshold up to 50 and I should be pretty far down on the list anyhow.  My ~132 GHash/s is with you!

I donate my pending payout to your pool, it is small sum(about 0.345btc) but that is what I can do for you. Good luck.

Graet, please check your mail, I have some hints for your current situation.

Integrity is not cheap but highly valued. Wish more had what you have Graet... more people should use your pool just for that fact alone. I wish you the best of luck. I will certainly think of switching over to OZcoin soon.

Thanks for the support and kind words Smiley
I have managed to arrange enough Bitcoins to enable payouts to start in about 2 hours and clear almost all of the backlog, a few miners have disabled payouts for the moment to allow those most in need to get thier payouts 1st.

Many people have offered help and support in many different ways - thank you all
Best wishes
